Hong Kong, which means “fragrant harbor,” is a former British colony that has taken on the character of a London-style city in Asia. Home to over 7 million people, this jewel of the East is the leading port in Asia. Beyond being an important economic hub in the world, Hong Kong also holds a significant cultural place thanks to its film industry, literature, and martial arts.
Wing Chun is a traditional Chinese martial art originating from southern China. It began spreading worldwide in the 20th century, largely due to the popularity of actor Bruce Lee, and one of its masters was the famous Yip Man. The curiosity inspired by this city that never sleeps has now largely shifted toward tourism, highlighting its rich cultural heritage.

05:06Wing Chun is a very methodical school, all techniques used in combat are the direct
05:35result of what is called forms, also called Tao. Six forms exist today. The first form is the
05:43Siu Lim Tao or Siu Nim Tao and is the basis of the system. Siu refers to small, efficient,
05:51compact and economical. Nim means immersion in the study of a subject and Tao refers to the head.
05:58One learns to stand properly, working the stability of the body. This form teaches the
06:04fundamental skills and basic techniques. Students learn to work in a relaxed and precise atmosphere.

07:24It's crucial because if you are not that talented,

07:40Being a good student means being totally devout.

08:23It's a very good place to go.
08:27Actually, it's like this.
08:30When I was in Phuotan,
08:33Ip came from the University of Phuotan.
08:36Our Master Ip came from China in 1949.
08:44Here, we have five generations of Masters.
08:51I started with English boxing
08:53and was also interested in martial arts.
08:58I saw one of Master Ip's training sessions,
09:01and it was there that I discovered Wincheng,
09:05and that's where it all began.
09:08I said that they were correct.
09:10They learned how to draw a look for it.
09:11Everything was here.
09:13And the familyель was the one that had to pour it in.
09:15The outside is so beautiful.
09:17We had to find the crew.
09:20After a pair of men's and women,
09:23we used to hang out and put the crew out.
09:27Then, we got to get your hands' and make a drink.
09:31Wandering the modern buildings of the city, there is a night market that is popular with
09:42the Chinese.
09:44In the aisles you can find vegetables, meat, fish and local specialties.
10:01The food is also available in the aisles.
10:16The food is also available in the aisles.
10:23The public transport system is quite developed in Hong Kong.
10:36The city centre has a practical and efficient system of tramways, taxis, ferries, buses and
10:42subways.
10:44From the north coast on the island of Hong Kong, one can see the emblematic bustling streets
11:00and skyscrapers.
11:14The Hong Kong Observation Wheel, a 60 metres high ferris wheel, offers an incredible view
11:25of the bay and downtown.
11:30Zingshan Monastery is emblematic because it is here that part of the film Enter the Dragon
11:49was shot with Bruce Lee.
12:08In Hong Kong, 50% of the population is atheist, 21% are Buddhist and 14% Taoist.
12:17Located in Castle Peak, Singshan Monastery is one of the three oldest temples in Hong Kong.
12:22Dating from 1464, it includes three main groups of buildings.
12:45You can discover the mysterious forest followers, the ceremonial arch, prayer rooms and dormitories.
13:07Common sense has always been part of rituals in Hong Kong, as elsewhere in China, whether
13:11in Buddhist, Confucian and Taoist temples.
13:14The statues represented here are Tai Sui, the weather gods.
13:15There is one for each day of the month.

13:38There is one for each day of the month.
13:52Many deities are represented in the temple for those coming together in front of them.
13:59There is one for each day of the night.
14:29I don't know.
14:59Niongping 360 is the cable car, which after a 25-minute ride from Tengcheng, will take you to the island of Lantau.
15:07Inside the cabin crystal, the glass section offers a breathtaking view of the contrasting landscapes that pass under your eyes and under your feet.
15:16The arrival point is the heart of the village of Niongping, a cultural landmark spanning 1.5 hectares.
15:23Once there, you can see the statue of Tiantan Buddha, commonly called the Great Buddha.
15:28Installed in 1993, it is 34 meters high.
15:33It faces the north to watch over all the Chinese people.
15:36In Hong Kong, one lives with the head in the clouds.
15:59Year after year, this world champion of skyscrapers continues to grow.
16:13Perpetually stretching the land from the sea and the mountains, it constantly adds new towers to the 1,000 square kilometers of land for a population of 7 million inhabitants.

16:52There is no age for practicing winchung.
17:22All generations are represented in the classes.
17:25This discipline aims to teach the art of defense, but also self-confidence, concentration,
17:31precision, balance, and many other useful qualities at all times of life.
17:44Another form of winchung includes the dragon pole.
17:52I think that every time we have to continue to go down the road,
17:59it will continue to go down the road.
18:02I believe the interest in Winchung is growing day by day because more people are aware of
18:31our martial art.
18:38Winchung can be explained scientifically to its practitioners.
18:49It is easy for them to understand principles and basis for Winchung.
19:00He is very beautiful.
19:04Happy New Year.
19:07If you want to…
19:09Yes.
19:10Yes.
19:11Yes.
19:13Yes.
19:14Yes.
19:15Yes.
19:17Yes.
19:20Yes.
19:21Yes.
19:23Yes.
19:25Yes.
19:26Yes.
19:29It's not like that.
19:59In the past, students under 13 years of age
20:10were not allowed to train
20:12because their bodies were not yet fully developed.
20:20Today, that has changed.
20:23Children are growing differently.
20:29Now, even students at 10 years of age
20:37are signed up in martial arts classes by their parents.
20:45Thanks to their age, they learn differently.
20:52Today, every movement can be explained.
20:59In the past, only endless repetition was done
21:03without any explanation.
21:11No matter your body type, you can practice.
21:14We used to say that if we taught our art to strangers,
21:29they could defeat us
21:32because they had a greater physique than us.
21:36So now, when we're younger,
21:39or when we're 10 or 8 years old,
21:42we're starting to be a little bit older.
21:44So, in Wynchung,
21:46there are no limits of age and age.
21:54Wynchung is part of the martial art
21:56that uses wall punching bags for practice
21:58in order to toughen up the fingers.
22:00The wooden dummy form includes 108 techniques,
22:08or up to 116, according to the schools.
22:12These differences in numbers
22:14do not affect the structure of the shape.
22:16They are more due to a different way of counting exercises
22:19than to an important structural difference.
22:21But since Master Yip Man,
22:23also a teacher of Bruce Lee,
22:25has taught Wynchung,
22:26many conflicts have appeared within schools
22:28about who holds the original form.
22:45Wooden dummy exercises have evolved over the centuries
22:48and has gone from 280 exercises
22:51to 108 or 116.
22:54If the wooden dummy is not symmetrical from left to right,
22:57it is Master Yip Man,
22:59who modifies the form in order to include variance
23:02and eliminating the left-right-left repetitions.
23:07The long pole measures 2 meters 70,
23:09but for practical reasons
23:11it is taught in its short form of 2 meters.
23:13The form is quite simple to learn.
23:15Quick and direct,
23:16it allows working the wrists
23:18and still remains difficult to use.
23:20To find out what's easier for the size of the other
23:22To find out what's easier for the other

23:53The mythical boats of the Star Ferry have been the faithful link between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon since 1888.
24:01Today, the two shores of Victoria Bay are connected by a system of road and rail infrastructure.
24:06Ten million people continue to use Star Ferry every year.
24:10If many tourists come from abroad to see one of the most beautiful bays in the world,
24:15Hong Kongese use it much more for the affection they hold for it rather than for what they could carry.
24:20Even after a century of service, the Star Ferry is still a reliable and efficient means of transport.
24:28National Geographic has even ranked Star Ferry in its top 50 destinations to go at least once in a lifetime.

25:39The narrow streets, often lined with two-story tall houses, are so narrow that here you
26:06can only travel by bicycle or on foot.
26:09The only vehicles with four wheels that can be seen are adapted to the needs of police
26:14and firefighters.
26:16For some time now, tourism has become the dominant activity.
26:20Traditional Chinese culture is present and there are also small restaurants and beaches
26:24for swimming.
26:42The Temple of Pak Tai is an essential stopover of the island.
26:46Built in 1783, it is one of the oldest in Hong Kong.
26:49It is dedicated to a Taoist god of the sea, the supreme emperor of the dark heaven.
26:55You will see the statues of these two legendary generals who see and hear everything.
27:06The elongated dragons adorn its roof while the four pairs of stone dragons in the courtyard
27:10keep guard.
27:19To the east of the island is the beach of Tung Wan.
27:22Weather permitting, it is very popular with windsurfers.
27:26It is the same as the top of the island is the глубine when it is the prime men.
27:33The city is about to be around twenty-story.
27:37The city is about to be around 21-year-old.
27:40The city is about to be around and is the right to be around.
27:50It is possible to travel to Macau by land, sea, or air, but the direct and fashionable
28:20way in recent years is the helicopter.
28:35Macau is located just south of Hong Kong.
28:38This territory with an area of less than 30 square kilometers was colonized by the Portuguese
28:42when they served as intermediaries between China and Japan in the 16th century.
28:48Nowadays, Macau is known worldwide for its casinos whose incomes are often higher than
28:53those of Las Vegas.
28:55Here, it is a small fraction of Europe that lives within China.
29:18Like Las Vegas, casinos are growing almost everywhere on the island.
29:30The gigantism and glitz are the order of the day.
29:33It is impossible to pass by without seeing them as they are concentrated on a tiny strip
29:38of land just 1.2 kilometers.
29:53The chi sao, which could be translated as tight arms or hands, is an exercise carried out
29:58with a partner that must allow the student to react in a tactile manner.
30:03In close combat, your ability to see a punch and react by reflex is greatly diminished,
30:08and it is at this point that the skills developed by the chi sao take on their full meaning.
30:14The student develops true sensory reflexes.
30:16At a later stage, the chi sao is also practiced blindfolded.
30:31Once tactile sensibility is developed, the student must be able to detect any change in the position
30:54of the opponent's body or angles of attack.
30:57With time and training, the body as a whole acquires the ability to react instantly in a relaxed
31:02manner at the slightest pressure.
31:04The inner guide you might be able to tell you is a very rare place.
31:14Your ability to attain a wonderful Washington post, the Lansing does so easily revealing
31:17it.
31:18You can also use a full-time experience to learn what they are doing with their own
31:20and for a better light.
31:21I'm going to tell you.
31:22Wynchen comes from the city.
31:25If you like, I've been oh, there's this host of Wynchen.
31:30Wynchen comes from the central state,
31:32Wing Chun comes from the south of Shaolin and it's one of the simplest and most efficient martial arts.
31:47I was often ill as a child.
31:52I was interested in many different sports, but I never thought I would be able to practice them.
32:02So, I turned to Wing Chun.
32:32With the Qi Sao, one learns to intercept the opponent's arms, deflect his strength and hit him simultaneously.
32:50The exercise is done with a constant forward force to stick to the opponent's arms.
32:55This force remains relaxed to feel the movements of it.
32:58While Wing Chun specializes in arm techniques, it also means that you should be effective with your legs.
33:07While Wing Chun specializes in arm techniques, it also means that you should be effective with your legs.
33:13While Wing Chun specializes in arm techniques, it also means that you should be effective with your legs.
33:21First, I'm afraid you should be able to do it.
33:22If you are confident in arm techniques, you can test his arm techniques.
33:23Take your legs will be cast into arm techniques, which is effective with your legs.
33:29You are very active with your legs.
34:02After a small kick, the use of the punching bag with fists resumes its place in the training.
34:52Victoria Bay is considered one of the three natural harbors in the world and one of the
35:01three most beautiful night views in the world.
35:04Its name comes from Queen Victoria of Great Britain.
38:20We're right back.
38:22We're right back.
38:25We're right back.
38:57Let's go.
39:27Let's go.
39:57Jade trade is incredibly present in Hong Kong, and for good reason.
40:01In Chinese culture, jade has long been associated with longevity and good health, making this material a lucky charm.
40:08The Chinese sign designating jade is a contraction of the words beauty and purity.
40:14The quality and quantity of jade stones sold on hundreds of stalls are appreciated both by tourists and Hong Kongese.
40:21In general, people prefer jade jewelry such as rings, bracelets, pendants, or earrings.
40:27However, it is not unusual to find amazing objects there.
40:31If the idea of being able to influence even just slightly one's luck is the ideal place to buy a lucky charm.
40:37Let's go.
41:07Let's go.
41:08Let's go.
41:09Let's go.
41:10Let's go.
41:11Let's go.
41:12Let's go.
41:17I'm going to go to the side of the side of the side.
41:47In the middle of the Hong Kong skyscrapers, there is a lush vegetation, which sometimes
42:14grows unexpectedly.
42:17Banyans are divided into two types, the ficus microcarpa and the ficus bengalensis particularly
42:23present on the island.
42:44I'm going to go.
43:21In Winchang, it is not the physical strength that is the most important.
43:41Indeed, in the case of an attack, one analyzes the situation visually, and one reacts immediately
43:46by a counterattack.
43:48Then, it is by using the tactile sensations given by the aggressor such as blocking,
43:53grasping, pulling, and others that it is possible to continue with a supple and adapted counterattack
43:59while remaining relaxed.
44:18Not requiring any physical fitness, Winchang is accessible at any age.
44:35The only necessary condition to discover it is to have the will to learn new things and
44:40to improve one's personal skills.
45:10In the right direction, it is the best place to serve.
45:20In the right direction, it is the ideal way to control the dual.
45:30Here, you can learn Kung Fu, which my master teaches.
46:00Today, quite a few masters received this training and pass it along in the world.
46:15I want to promote our Wing Chun with other masters as a martial art that is good for your physical and mental health.
46:25Today, people don't take enough time for their health.
46:30I want to make sure I am supporting your life.
46:33I'll see you next time in the same time.
46:40If you can watch the channel, please do so if you would like to see me if I have a video.
46:43I am not sure if I can watch it for the video.
46:45Don't be able to run away from the school.

46:51Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

48:00to have a good attitude once outside and have moral values.
48:14We learn how to fight during the training.
48:29We learn how to fight during the training.
49:07Hong Kong is a symbol of success in Asia.
49:14Today, it is certainly its desire to cultivate a particular identity
49:18that allows Hong Kong to extend its notoriety throughout the world.
49:22Behind its heirs of the City of London, or the small New York of Asia,
49:27it has once again become a Chinese city.
49:31Notoriety can also be attributed thanks to the success of Bruce Lee,
49:35which made it possible to introduce to the world to Wing Chun,
49:38a martial art that almost everyone can recognize by its gestures
49:42without even knowing its name.
49:44The philosophy of Wing Chun allows everyone to practice and carry on its values.
49:48This is one of the reasons it will have long and beautiful years ahead.
50:05Even if you're doing all that,
50:07you can't remember only one day,
50:08your face will be remembered.
50:10You're going to see a lot of noise now.
50:12You're going to see how you're working on the world to move out.
50:14You're going to see how you're working on it.
50:16Some of you are seeing how you're working on.
50:18Like I'm watching the music I video and I've never liked it.
50:20Do you know how you draw a little bit of knowledge in the world?
50:22I've not seen how you're working on my day.
50:24It's a beautiful new book.
50:25You're being a fantastic writer.
50:26You're a good writer.
50:27You're a great writer.
50:28I don't want to have any new videos.
50:29You're a great writer to see how I use knowledge of the future
50:31We'll see you next time.
