00:00um do you do you have any qualms do you have any issues rooting for a unethical player at any time
00:08because this is a thought that came up when i happened to be scrolling instagram like i think
00:12we're all now you know i'm forced to succumb to just scrolling or your app of choice and uh and
00:19just rotting in some ways and i saw this this instagram post and i feel the name of the account
00:27was but it was coming for our very own alper and shangoon the uh the the center starting center
00:33for your houston rock is a bad seed that one uh but this was this was actually coming off of the
00:39spurs game where in the game you have alper and shangoon you know kind of accentuating some might
00:45say contact that might not have been there or another instance it's like it got punched in the
00:50face yeah yeah yeah he just he he threw his head backwards in a place where i was like i'm not even
00:54sure if wimby got him and then in another instance all coming off of a free throw he just throws his
00:59forearm into wimby and that that big man flew backwards um and so this was this was an accusation
01:06levied levied at alper and shangoon there is not a more miserable watch right now in the nba than
01:11alper and shangoon and i don't mean about his basketball abilities he is ultra talented but he is the most
01:18annoying and frustrating player to watch every single game what are we doing i can tolerate
01:24gamesmanship but this is dirty and shangoon has been doing this and flying under the radar about it
01:30for entirely too long i still won't forget the way he acted during the first round of last year's
01:35playoffs coming after pat spencer but then any aggression from pat spencer it was like ah
01:41and people in the warriors reddit seem to agree with this saying that if you watch that series
01:46shangoon flopped on every single drive every single one of them and if you watch him on a nightly basis
01:53you see this you can't ignore it if you are genuinely watching rockets games
01:58i i kind of love it because that's a compliment okay so that's a compliment that is because as he
02:07was mentioning that although don't talk to me about warriors reddit i don't need to hear about
02:11them people we're dream on play right yeah but like i've heard like as he was saying i was like oh
02:16yeah i've had friends actually that are not tech or rockets fans not in the area at all talk to me
02:22and be like hey man this opera shangoon thing for real i'm like what you mean and it it doesn't click
02:26to me because like he's he's our guy he's here and so it made me think about it like how do you deal
02:31with this do you have any issues as a pop up as all because i do want to watch guys that like you
02:36know play the game quote unquote the right way but at the same time like when that guy's your guy
02:41or when that when those guys are your guys i how do you then how do you then deal with you how you
02:45put you put the blinders on yeah that's that's that's called being a fan yeah that's kind of that's
02:51kind of like a warriors fan they ain't gonna have no issues with what draymond green do unless it
02:56unless it affects the team how about here man how about patrick beverly that was one of the ones
03:02that came to mind very quickly the first thing that came to my mind was james harden
03:05the way he'd be drawing no foul oh that's a good one yeah no i used to be so irritated with that
03:10man just like man and then the other thing i think about is uh sga how they call him the free
03:16throw merchant yep and i was getting a little irritated the way he was just drawing foul i'm
03:20like man this dude ain't even trying trying to shoot the ball he's trying to draw a foul and then
03:24throws it up all you know yeah i'm just like man that kind of made me not really care for him
03:30um it's funny because when you asked the question i was kind of going in two directions the first
03:34please the first one is that like just a guy that kind of gets under your skin but you still
03:40cheer for him if he's on your team yeah but i i i still always with pat beverly when i think of them
03:47here right i also remember the fact that russell westbrook who ultimately obviously played for the
03:51rockets at one point but russell westbrook hadn't missed a game in his career up until patrick beverly
03:56went like and he was just playing way too hard and hurts that man's knee i think was it in the
04:01playoffs um versus oklahoma city and like that's something i absolutely despise yeah but he's on
04:06my team and i tend to i tend to root for the dudes on my team right so that's one direction uh the other
04:12one is like like actual bad dudes like you know off their you know court or field or whatever that
04:19you still kind of like ignore that you know and yeah and those are the ones that i think i have just
04:24an impossible time i can't get i was racking my brain i really truly don't really fall in line with
04:29like just bad bad people yeah except for one uh oh i'll bring it bring it to the table who is it
04:35because we're none of us are without our uh our our little um what's the right word yeah and it
04:40wasn't local but mike tyson oh tyson is a good mike tyson i was always like that is a horrible human
04:47being in so many ways i just cheer for every time yeah the one the one i think about and i and to me
04:54i felt like this played a big part of him kind of changing his life and all that stuff lopez
04:58probably wouldn't care for him but mike vick just seeing how he he served his time he did a bad
05:04thing he served his time he he got with christ he kind of changed his image a lot and so right now i
05:10kind of root for him a little bit i i i changed my mind on him my my whole thing was i hated it i
05:16wanted him he did a bad thing i wanted him to go up the river uh i was glad he did uh but once he
05:21did his time i said it on these airwaves i said you know what what that oh and he started some
05:27people still can't get over that no matter what and i'm interested in those people to some degree
05:32not i'm never going to be the person who tells you what you need to do in that moment but i do think
05:37that if there's anything uh in the american ethos is the idea of rehabilitation whether or not we are
05:43good at actually doing that that dude if you talk about rehabilitation he became like one of the
05:47biggest you should be the face for like the aspca he became a champion of uh of like uh animal rights
05:53in a way so i'm like right i i legitimately not like i'm his biggest fan that and you forget
05:59everything but i i i'm i got no problem with where he is right and so like i think that that actually
06:04brings us back to any of the with some of this is like especially with i need to see like a level
06:09of repentance or in a weird way i need you to acknowledge it yeah you know i mean like if you're
06:15going to be the person that is like really playing on the border of the rules and like you're going to
06:19be a little bit of a jerk i need you i need you to embody that and own it right like the pat bev one
06:24thing i can say he owns the mess out of it it's one of the reasons why i don't respect draymond green
06:28because he wants to play both ways like he'll try and own it but then sometimes he'll play the
06:31bit put his hands up man no that's good defense and so i'm seeing a lot of people here right
06:38someone from the a32 i'm a diehard rockets fan and i hate it like because i actually think about this
06:43obviously you know i was up in dallas i'll put him i'll put a dollar in the bucket if i need to
06:47dealing with like luka donchich in in like the height of him being a young star but constantly
06:53crying and complaining for fouls it's it's awful to watch man because you're like not only are you
06:58doing this and trying to like work the work the uh the perimeter of this of the rules or whatever
07:03also you're hurting your team
07:04anyone is anywhere near that and i think that's a lot of rockets fans that they're saying yeah it
07:11irritates them okay yeah that's that's what i was interested in a32 shangun is annoying to watch
07:16all right and then this is another player that i thought of because we stayed with the rocket side
07:21of this uh well one hello houston astros right how how did you handle this and was this just a
07:26because it became an attack on the astros you went into defensive mode and didn't even
07:30bother about it but from the a32 would aziz be the one i'm glad you brought that one up i saw that
07:36and i think he's the he's the the example of on your team oh y'all are crazy i guarantee you every
07:45other team in the division especially i think he is just yeah dirty player but what's funny is like
07:51guarantee guarantee and i think it's not only because of the actual play or the way he plays
07:56but i think he kind of leaned into it on social media too tweeting the um the joker yeah um picture
08:02and all that stuff i think that kind of made everybody like oh yeah yeah no i i think he's
08:08the example the prototype but what's funny is the thing for me about aziz is not because he's on this
08:13team it's because i we've seen who he actually is yeah we've seen like but we've seen who he is on
08:18the field too yeah and that's fair like that that's such a hard dichotomy to try and uh pull together
08:24because there are times where i go damn it aziz what the hell are you doing exactly yeah all right like
08:29come on man like i i get it i will defend you to a certain point but when it gets out here and
08:34maybe that's the answer right we'll defend you when it gets to a certain point but when it gets
08:37egregious it's a problem and i think that that might be the way that i might handle this shangun
08:42i think that's the issue when you keep seeing it then it felt the way kind of going back to the
08:49rockets yeah eric gordon whenever he whenever he get called for five he always what i do oh that is so
08:57that was so irritating it made me not like him yeah because every time he get called for five
09:02it was palms up he always got his palms up man i don't know if he playing now but he probably still
09:08got his palms up yeah so i and from the a32 maybe this is a dynamic i didn't consider shangun versus
09:14wimby and yannis is personal because of euro basket interesting had not considered that angle of it maybe
09:18that factors in but you know what the and i'll leave this as my final word on this another thing i think
09:24that also uh factors in with pat bev it's like oh yeah this is how you had to stay in the league
09:28because you was in russia the only way albert you too good for this big dog like that might be it
09:32like you too good to be out here acting like this that might be why people are mad at shay is like
09:36hey man you you got mvp time why are you in here doing this yeah this is beneath you or your ass is
09:41probably the mvp because all them damn free throws and cracking up points that's true yeah so yeah uh
09:47yeah i'm just continue let me know how you feel and how you deal with an unethical player and rooting for
09:52them uh because interestingly enough that's kind of something that i did not realize honestly like
09:56it almost moved the blinders for me because i had not really looked at albert in that light now i'm
10:01i'm trying to deal with it and i'm probably gonna be looking at them a little different now you have
10:04an opportunity because they're playing tonight
