00:00Each year on November 11th, we come together to honor all U.S. military veterans who have
00:09served our country in any capacity. Originally called Arms to Stay, it commemorated the end
00:15of World War I on November 11th, 1918. The name was then changed in 1954 to honor all veterans
00:21and has evolved into a day for parades, ceremonies, and public events to celebrate and thank all
00:27veterans. So let's take a look here at the military base forecast. Hopping across the country,
00:32we'll start across parts of the southeast where Fort Bragg, North Carolina, near the Fayetteville
00:36area, is still dealing with the chill despite the sunshine today. A high temperature of 49,
00:41but accurate real field temperatures into the lower 40s. We head a little bit further south
00:46and west to Fort Hood, Texas, between the Oweco and Austin area, where it's pretty breezy today,
00:51but certainly warmer than yesterday with a high of 75 degrees and an accurate real field of 72,
00:56but watch across Texas, red flag warnings in place because of those gusty winds and the low
01:03humidity. All right, back across the southeast, we go to Fort Benning, Georgia, near Columbus,
01:07and plenty of sunshine, but it's still a cool day at 53 degrees, accurate real field temperature
01:12at 55, and then to the northwest near the Tacoma area, we go to the joint base here with times of
01:18clouds and sun, temperatures into the 50s. Across the northeast for your Veterans Day, it is a windy
01:25day in Philadelphia at 45 degrees, and there could be still some flakes flying. Boston and Detroit
01:30today with temperatures well below the historical average. Chilly in Baltimore, but we should stay
01:35drier. The southeast still has a lot of chill with temperatures well below the historical average,
01:39but plenty of sunshine. Well, we here at AccuWeather want to thank all the veterans for their service
01:44and sacrifice. Whether you're attending a parade, visiting a memorial, or spending time with loved
01:49ones, we hope you have a safe and memorable Veterans Day.
