Well-known human rights activist and founder of the Sahara Reporters News Media,
00:05
Omiele Sawari has called on the British government
00:08
that the United Kingdom, UK should immediately place a ban on Nigeria serving senator
00:14
representing Delta North Senatorial District in the Red Chamber of the National Assembly,
00:19
Prince Shinidu Nwako aka Ned Nwako as a registered lawyer in the United Kingdom
00:25
over allegations of child abuse, raping of minor and molestation allegedly committed
00:30
against the person of Nigeria popular Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels,
00:36
after the superstar actress revealed on Sunday that she was forced into early marriage
00:41
at the age of 17 by the serving Nigeria senator, which, according to Sawari,
00:46
Regina Daniels at 17 was still a minor under the UK law and therefore called on the Law Society of
00:53
England and Wales to be alerted, and the Solicitor's Regulation Authority, SRA must begin disciplinary
00:59
proceedings before the Independent Solicitor's Disciplinary Tribunal, SDT determined Senator
01:05
Ned Nwako fitness to still practice law in the UK, while Sawari stated this earlier on Sunday.
01:12
On Monday evening, Sawari raised alarm of fresh plans by the serving Nigeria senator,
01:18
Ned Nwako to allegedly block the release of the detained Regina Daniels' brother,
01:23
Samuel Ejegwu aka Sammy West and arrest his mother-in-law,
01:28
Regina Daniels' mother, Rita and Regina Daniels' friends, but,
01:32
Sammy West was later seen in a video on Monday night being released from prison.
01:37
According to Omiele Sawari, APC senator,
01:41
Prince Ned Nwako must be held accountable for crimes against a minor and abuse of power.
01:46
The case of APC Senator Prince Ned Nwako has gone far beyond politics.
01:53
It now points to serious criminal conduct and gross abuse of power,
01:57
as revealed by his now-estranged wife, Regina Daniels.
02:01
According to Regina Daniels, Senator Prince Ned Nwako,
02:06
married, her when she was only 17 years old at a time when she was legally a minor under UK law,
02:12
where Nwako remains a registered legal practitioner.
02:16
Any sexual activity following that marriage would, under British law, amount to statutory rape.
02:23
More disturbing are Regina Daniels' allegations that Senator Nwako introduced her to hard drugs
02:29
while she was still underage and repeatedly forced himself upon her.
02:34
These are not mere moral failings.
02:36
They're serious criminal offenses that demand investigation and prosecution.
02:40
It is unacceptable for Ned Nwako to continue parading himself as a lawyer in the United Kingdom
02:46
while facing these damning allegations.
02:50
The Law Society of England and Wales must be alerted,
02:53
and the Solicitor's Regulation Authority, SRA,
02:57
must begin disciplinary proceedings before the Independent Solicitor's Disciplinary Tribunal, SDT,
03:03
to determine his fitness to practice law in the UK.
03:06
We will not allow Ned Nwako to continue using the now disgraced Nigeria police force,
03:12
his political influence, or illicit wealth to suppress victims,
03:16
pervert justice, and trample on human rights in Nigeria or anywhere else in the world.
03:22
Impunity has an expiry date, and that date is now.
03:26
Stop Senator Prince Ned Nwako's abuse of power and criminal manipulation of state institutions.
03:32
While we continue working to secure the freedom of Samuel Ojobu,
03:37
Sammy West, who has been unjustly detained through the influence of crooked all-progressives Congress,
03:43
crooked Senator Prince Ned Nwako,
03:45
it is important to alert the public to the senator's ongoing schemes and abuses of power.
03:50
Reliable information indicates that Senator Nwako has deployed substantial funds
03:55
to elements within the Nigeria police force in order to target and intimidate members of his estranged wife Regina Daniels's family and friends.
04:05
Acting through corrupt police officials and in some instances attempting to draw in the NDLEA,
04:10
he has sought to expand a web of harassment and unlawful arrests.
04:14
Senator Prince Ned Nwako allegedly pressured Nigeria police force officers earlier today to block Sammy West's bail,
04:23
and even attempted to procure the arrest of Regina Daniels's friends and mother, Rita,
04:28
under false claims that they were supplying her with drugs.
04:32
Equally disturbing are credible reports that he illegally intercepted and monitored Regina Daniels's private WhatsApp communications,
04:39
paying large sums to police operatives to track her calls and messages.
04:43
Over 250 of such WhatsApp messages were submitted to implicate Regina Daniels's close circle that he alleged were supplying her hard drugs.
04:53
In addition, Nwako is said to have sponsored the fabrication of medical reports from Nizamiye Hospital in Abuja
05:00
and another private facility in Abuja, in a desperate bid to criminalize Regina Daniels and those close to her.
05:07
These actions amount to a grave abuse of state power and violation of fundamental rights.
05:13
The public must understand that the true criminal here is Ned Nwako himself,
05:18
a man who married a minor, exposed her to drugs through manipulation, and repeatedly violated her bodily autonomy.
05:25
We call on the Nigerian leadership to immediately call the Nigeria Police Force, the NDLEA,
05:32
and also urge the Attorney General of the Federation, and relevant international human rights bodies
05:38
to immediately investigate these allegations and to curtail Senator Nwako's influence over security agencies in Nigeria.
05:46
No individual, no matter how wealthy or politically connected,
05:50
should be allowed to weaponize law enforcement institutions for personal vendettas.
05:55
Justice must prevail, and Ned Nwako must be held accountable for his crimes.
06:00
diver president's offense andhua to the одной one,
06:01
So those who have won Nadu, bring again unique news in a multitude ofome.
