00:00Authority in Nigeria has arrested a woman, Shidunke Yetunde's symbiote with cocaine worth over 5 billion nairas of street she had hidden inside her children room, which, according to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, the suspect was identified as a key member of a drug cartel and as a result, she was trailed to her home at number 31.
00:22On Asanya Street, Tsurilere, Lagos State on Tuesday 9 December 2025 and a thorough search of her home led to the discovery of blocks of cocaine weighing 23.50 kg concealed in a black suitcase recovered from her children's room.
00:40NDLEA in a news release on Sunday also stated that its men intercepted Italy-bound opioids and nabbed a businessman, Benenoise Lady, others in nationwide raids during the week.
00:52According to NDLEA, 20 months after a cocaine trafficking cartel led by a couple, Balanle Lukman Dowda and Oliyinka Tohiba Dowda was smashed in Lagos and Ogun State by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, with multi-billion naira worth of the illicit drug recovered from them.
01:13Another leader of the syndicate, Shidunke Yetunde Symbiote who went underground since May 2024 has been nabbed in her Lagos home where additional 23.50 kg of the class a drug were recovered from her children's room.
01:28The Kinkin Lukman and his Queen Tohiba were arrested on Saturday 25 May 2024 by operatives of a special operations unit of NDLEA at a BA, along Lagos-Badagri Expressway while attempting to cross the land border to deliver the consignment in Ghana.
01:46At the point of their arrest, 42 blocks of cocaine weighing 47.5 kg were found on them.
01:53A swift follow-up operation in their residence at Plot 24-25th's OPIC Extension, Peterdome Road, Agbara, Ogun State, led to the recovery of additional 8 blocks of the same drug weighing 10 kg, bringing the total weight of the consignment seized from the couple to 57.5 kg.
02:14Determined to reign in every member of the syndicate, the NDLEA operatives continued with follow-up intelligence and surveillance on the trans-border drug trafficking organization until a 39-year-old female stash-keeper, Shidunke Yetunde Symbiote was identified as a key member of the DTO.
02:33As a result, she was trailed to her 31 on Asanya Street, Suralere, Lagos residence on Tuesday 9 December 2025.
02:42A thorough search of her home led to the discovery of blocks of cocaine weighing 23.50 kg concealed in a black suitcase recovered from her children's room.
02:54She admitted ownership of the drug consignment worth over 5 billion nairas in street value.
02:59Meanwhile, NDLEA operatives attached to Terminal 2 Departure Hall of the Matala-Mohamed International Airport, MMIA, Akeja Lagos on Thursday 18 December intercepted a 36-year-old businessman Nwanwin Robinson Destiny with a total of 1,020 pills of tramadol-225 mg and tapantadol-200 mg concealed in his luggage while attempting to board a Royal Air Maroc flight to Milan.

03:40At the Seme border in Bedagri area of Lagos, a 48-year-old Benenoise Leocardi Josu was on Thursday 18 December arrested by NDLEA offices while attempting to cross into Nigeria with 3,400 tablets of tramadol-225 mg,
04:00even as a suspect Abdullahi Adamu, 30, was now Dalongakene, Lokoja Highway with 28.400 kg skunk, a strain of cannabis in Colorado, a synthetic cannabis on Friday 19 December.
04:16In Oyo State, NDLEA operatives on Friday 19 December recovered 125,000 capsules of tramadol and 1,800 ampules of pentazocene injection in a Toyota Hiace bus marked XD-592 all along Lagos Abaddon Expressway,
04:36while two suspects, Ogunlade Kazin, 54, and Adeleke Ishmael, 30, were arrested with 185.4 kg of skunk at Challenge Motor Park, Abaddon, on Wednesday 17 December.
04:52A total of 405 kg skunk was seized when NDLEA operatives raided Awenna, a Jesha forest in Oson State where a suspect Charles James, 45, was nabbed on Friday 19 December,
05:07while another suspect Jamalu Zachary, 42, was arrested with 14,960 pills of tramadol-225 mg at tollgate, along Abuja, Kaduna Highway same day.
05:21The consignment of opioids was concealed in two kolonat sacks, Huvangoro, coming from Abuja to Gusau, Zamfara State.
05:31Across all commands and formations of the agency nationwide, NDLEA officers continued their war against drug abuse, WADA, sensitization activities in schools, worship centers, workplaces and communities among others in the past week.
05:47These include, WADA Enlightenment lecture to students and staff of secondary schools in Anambra at Women Development Center, Orca, Youth Craft Village, Malamfashi, Katsina and members of NURTW in Adu Akiti, Akiti State, among others.
06:04While commending the officers and men of the Special Operations Unit, MMIA, SEMA, COGI, Kaduna, OYO and OSUN commands for the arrests, seizures and the dexterity, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA.
06:20Brigadier General Mohamed Baba Mawa, retired, enjoined them and their colleagues across the country to remain extra vigilant during the festive season and ensure that highest standard of professionalism is maintained in all their drug supply reduction and drug demand reduction activities all through the period and beyond,
