00:00Over 300 people participated in a protest rally in Sha'alam, calling for Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to resign.

00:10The protest at the Section 9 parking lot was held to voice concerns over several issues the group claims are affecting the people,

00:17including the rise in cost of living and the expansion of the sales and service tax since July 1st.

00:24Among those present were Perjuang Information Chief Rafiq Rashid, Past Youth Deputy Chief Hanif Jamaluddin,

00:31Selangor Past Youth Chief Sukri Omar, Kelantan Past Youth Chief Kamal Muhammad,

00:36former PKR leader Izzam Noor, and Malaysian Islamic Students Coalition President Azamuddin Sahar.

00:42Speaking to the media, Hanif said today's program was just a small protest to kick off the awareness

00:48for the planned major rally at Dataran Merdeka on July 26th.

00:53He said several NGOs and other political leaders are also expected to attend the major rally,

00:58including former Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad,

01:02Bersatu President Muhyiddin Yassin, and Past President Abdul Hadi Awang.

01:06Meanwhile, Izzam claimed that the people are disappointed with Anwar's leadership

01:11as he had failed to fulfill the promises made when he was still in the opposition after becoming Prime Minister.
