00:17:32I just don't think they knew, understood what they had.
00:17:36And at that point, people were big booting and leg dropping.
00:17:39So it was a different era.
00:17:40The Blue Blazer is a very, very good wrestler, but what I've noticed about him is if he has shortcomings, he doesn't deliver heavy, heavy damaging blows.
00:17:50He's more liable to try and wrestle his way into a winning a match than to beat his man.
00:17:55Oh, and I talked about it, about him staying.
00:19:19Always, always looking for a funny twist to do to things.

00:21:56Oh, I was tickled to death, bro. Owen was a great tag partner, and of course he could do anything. Any wrestling move in the world that we ever invented, he could do it really well.
00:22:06I myself have only two or three moves to my whole repertoire. He has hundreds.
00:22:12And I think Owen was really happy with all that. The new foundation was a happy time for him.
00:22:17You know, this might be a better team than the Hart Foundation was.
00:22:19I always thought it was the coolest thing in the world when I would turn on my TV and see Owen and my dad, and they were this tag team, and just knowing how close Owen was to my dad, you could tell that because they were family, there was this relationship that was special.
00:22:37It wasn't just like a tag team partner. It was a brotherhood.
00:22:40Jim was released by the WWE at that time, and then they put him in another tag team with Coco Beware, and it seemed like it was kind of just a forced team.
00:22:49Like, they had to find another partner for Owen. They didn't want to just make him a single star.
00:22:54Hey, this team, everybody's talking about high energy. Coco Beware and the Rockets. I want to see how they work as a tag team.
00:23:01I clicked good with the Owen Hart, and Owen and I came really close.
00:23:09I know Coco had a great time or enjoyed Owen as a partner, and I think Owen, you know, took it all pretty well and tried to do the best he could, but I don't think he was ever too excited about it.
00:23:18I think he really felt bad that Jim dropped the ball.
00:23:21I started to understand around that time, though, the handcuffs that were put on him, from seeing his Stampede stuff to seeing him now in, you know, MC Hammer pants with taxi, you know, stripes down the side.
00:23:33Look at those pants! High energy, looking good!
00:23:37I think Owen and Coco, it gave him something, but it just was like both of them wearing brown shoes with a black suit. It just didn't really fit.
00:23:45I never understood the gear that they always put with Owen, and then getting to know Owen later, I realized that he would have understood the absurdity of it and just reveled in it.
00:23:58I remember watching that going, I don't like this. Owen's better than this. And as big of a fan as I was of Owen, I couldn't make myself like it.
00:24:06Owen wasn't happy with where he was going and what they were doing with him, and he started to lose hope and sort of saw himself as always being a secondary kind of guy or a middle guard guy or just didn't see a lot of hope.
00:24:22The Rockets in town!
00:24:24Right, there comes the biggest turkey you'll probably ever see.
00:24:27He had mentioned to me that he was going to pack it in and quit pretty soon. He was trying out for the fire department in Calgary.
00:24:32And I know he wanted to be a school teacher.
00:24:35He was going to walk away from wrestling.
00:24:36Those things just didn't happen because wrestling was what he was meant to do. He was good at it.
00:24:42It was around the time that I wrestled Doink and Jerry Lawler the same day at SummerSlam.
00:24:47I know I talked to Vince. He said, when are you going to do something with Owen?
00:24:51You know, if you have Owen a chance, he's a lot better than you give him credit for.
00:24:56And they came to me with this idea that they wanted to, they're going to have me wrestle my brother.
00:25:00It was going to be my brother, Bruce.
00:25:04My brother, Bruce, had had knee surgery. He was older, smaller.
00:25:09And as hard as Owen had tried, I thought, it's a shame not to give Owen this opportunity and instead give it to my brother, Bruce, who can't really even use it.
00:25:17So I put my foot down that day and I said, I don't mind doing this thing.
00:25:21But if we're going to do it, we're going to do it with my brother, Owen.
00:25:25There's only one brother I can do it with.
00:25:27I don't think it was probably too hard of a sell to go, listen, this guy, my little brother, he's been here for years.
00:25:31On and off, you haven't done anything with him, give him a shot.
00:25:33And I'm sure I know right now what they're saying, he doesn't have personality.
00:25:37He will have personality if you give him the chance to.
00:25:40The younger brother, Brett, the hitman hard, the rocket, Owen hard, for a standing ovation here as this capacity crowd appreciates an outstanding athlete when they see one.
00:25:52Owen was one of the most underrated talents that has ever been in the WWE.
00:25:57This guy was just such a natural.
00:25:59I'm not going to say more so than his brother, Brett, but I think that Owen's talent level was right there with Brett's all along.
00:26:06And now Owen, I'm going to leap one.
00:26:09He earned that position and he shined at it when he was finally given the chance.
00:26:14Around Survivor Series of 93, he became more than Brett's little brother.
00:26:20I think in time, it turned out to be the best thing in the world for him.
00:26:23No telling what's going to happen in the Family Feud matchup.
00:26:26I thought it was done so masterfully, the way, like, the seeds of jealousy were slowly planted.
00:26:31During his childhood, he was isolated by the family.
00:26:34Brett was the guy, basically.
00:26:35I mean, I know there was other guys working at the time, but Brett was the hottest guy.
00:26:38Brett has always overshadowed Owen.
00:26:40Brett has always pushed himself in front of Owen.
00:26:43I know the hard family.
00:26:44I know when their dog ran away, they used to put Owen out back instead.
00:26:48Owen actually knocked Brett off.
00:26:49The ring apron, Owen was the only guy eliminated.
00:26:51Hitman is hurt.
00:26:52Owen has been shining his back.
00:26:54He's in the ring.
00:26:55No, he just knocked his brother off into the rail.
00:26:58Oh, wait a minute.
00:26:59Owen.
00:26:59What?
00:27:00The shadow's gone.
00:27:03I think the Hitman is, too.
00:27:04He went right into the first and second row.
00:27:06Block it.
00:27:07Owen Hart is out.
00:27:09The Hart family won, but he came back out, and, you know, he pulls Brett down, and they're
00:27:12kind of pushing each other.
00:27:14And I was like, dude, is Owen going to become a bad guy?
00:27:18The crowd is booing Owen Hart.
00:27:20It wasn't supposed to be the family against me.
00:27:26I'm sick and tired of carrying the load of this family and never getting any recognition.
00:27:31It's always you, Brett.
00:27:32The reason that that turn worked was because it was based in reality.
00:27:38The famous older brother getting all these accolades, and the younger brother feeling that he's being ignored, and he's not getting his just due.
00:27:49If you have a sibling, you know what that's like.
00:27:52So as a kid, I was totally relating to that.
00:27:54My brother was totally relating to that.
00:27:56And we just really got attached to the characters.
00:27:58Owen, listen to me.
00:28:00This is your brother.
00:28:01I'm going to ask you one thing.
00:28:02You're going to sit down with me, Mom, Dad, and we're going to settle this thing.
00:28:05It all worked out.
00:28:06Everything's got to be fine.
00:28:12When Owen Hart stabbed Brett in the back, it put all the eyes on Owen at that time.
00:28:18All those other accolades that you earned, everything that you did in the past, that was before you ever saw the rocket face-to-face, one-on-one.
00:28:26Once you get confidence in what you're doing, and know what your character is and who your character is, you can't be stopped.
00:28:34You!
00:28:34You've been standing in my way all my life, Brett.
00:28:37That's all I ever heard about is what you've done, Brett.
00:28:41All right, Brett, I'll help you back in.
00:28:43He always needs my help.
00:28:47This isn't the dungeon anymore.
00:28:57This is going to be a real ugly fight.
00:29:00They really tried to work everyone to the fact that they didn't get along at all because they wanted it to feel real.
00:29:05No talking.
00:29:06No talking in the lobby.
00:29:07No riding together.
00:29:08No in the bars together.
00:29:10If they ever see us talking, it ruins it for everybody.
00:29:13No one becomes a joke or a farce.
00:29:15Look at that.
00:29:17The best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be.
00:29:20Everybody wants an autograph.
00:29:21Everybody wants a picture.
00:29:23They all know that I'm the best.
00:29:24They don't want my lousy brother, Brett, or anybody else.
00:29:27Brett and I used to get along real good.
00:29:28But all my life, I've kind of had problems with Brett being a little brother, hearing about how great Brett was and all these great accolades that we achieved.
00:29:36And finally, I just have had enough with it.
00:29:39I'm the bestest there is, the bestest there was, and the bestest there ever will be.
00:29:44We had the Sunday dinners.
00:29:45There was a lot of strangers and people that we didn't know that would be there.
00:29:48So we wouldn't talk.
00:29:49They would just be kind of cool toward each other and, you know, sit at opposite ends of the table and there wouldn't be any contact for sure.
00:29:56Yeah.
00:29:56It was funny how serious we took it.
00:29:59We'd have like two seats on the airplane and we're not talking to each other, you know.
00:30:03But we were old school.
00:30:04I think they enjoyed every second of pretending to hate each other.
00:30:10WrestleMania 10, Brett.
00:30:12I'm going to prove what we've known all along.
00:30:14And I'm the best heart.
00:30:16He wants a match.
00:30:17He wants a fight.
00:30:22I'll give him a fight.
00:30:24I'll give my damn good a fight.
00:30:25WrestleMania 10 opens with one of the best opening matches of all time, Brett versus Owen.
00:30:29That's where he was finally getting to show what he could do.
00:30:42We kept adding all the little things to make Owen bad.
00:30:45He's such a loving brother and we were so close.
00:30:49He's the worst little bastard cheater in the whole world in that match.
00:30:52He had this unbelievable nip and tuck match back and forth.
00:31:02It was a real lesson in pro wrestling.
00:31:05That was the match that I saw and I thought, I want to do this.
00:31:09I want to make other people feel the way I felt watching that match.
00:31:13It was beautiful art.
00:31:21And it was, this is the how-to guide to do this.
00:31:25We hunched him on the legs and yes!
00:31:28A victory!
00:31:29No!
00:31:30One!
00:31:30One!
00:31:31One!
00:31:31One!
00:31:31One!
00:31:32One!
00:31:32One!
00:31:32One!
00:31:33One!
00:31:35What do you think of that, McMahon?
00:31:37Here is your winner!
00:31:39Oh!
00:31:40It's great!
00:31:40Look at this!
00:31:41Oh!
00:31:41Oh!
00:31:42Oh!
00:31:42Oh!
00:31:43What about it now?
00:31:45Brent lost to Owen.
00:31:47It made Owen a bigger star.
00:31:49Now I am the best there is, the best there was, and I am going to be the best there ever
00:31:54will be, brother.
00:31:54But the best part of it was, at the very end of the show, guess what happens?
00:31:58Big brother, once again, he wins the title.
00:32:01He's in the ring celebrating and here's Owen, little brother.
00:32:05It doesn't matter what he does.
00:32:06And that set the tone for this amazing story.
00:32:09He arrived by beating Brett, and he continued his ascension.
00:32:15Now we got this guy who can be a top heel.
00:32:17So what do we do?
00:32:18So King of the Ring.
00:32:19Owen Hart, looking to become what his brother did last year.
00:32:24In terms of King of the Ring pay-per-views, this was only the second one, the year before Brett
00:32:28was King of the Ring.
00:32:29And I remember being so excited that Owen was in it.
00:32:33So that day he wrestles three different guys, and then Razor Ramon against Owen in the final.
00:32:38I was thrilled to be working with Owen.
00:32:40I never really cared about who wins or loses.
00:32:42I just like it to be a good match.
00:32:44We were reintroducing Jim Neidhart to the scene.
00:32:46So Jim came down.
00:32:48Screw me.
00:32:49Jim Neidhart has literally given this coveted King of the Ring crown
00:33:02to the rocket Owen Hart.
00:33:05I don't believe it.
00:33:09I did it.
00:33:11I did it.
00:33:14I hope you're watching that.
00:33:16Brett, everybody.
00:33:18I'm the king.
00:33:22Owen, being the character that he is, you know that he would once again revel in that,
00:33:27in just the absurdity of wearing a crown around and a scepter and a cape.
00:33:31My first proclamation as king is to be from this day forward known as the King of Hearts.
00:33:40That's what Owen needed in order to come out and shine and become his own man.
00:33:48You start to see, like, little traits of his real personality and the things that made him so funny.
00:34:04I can't help him.
00:34:06I don't know why.
00:34:08And you could see how much fun he was having.
00:34:10I don't know why all you people think that I've done something wrong.
00:34:14Brett's been talking about the whole family backing him and that they're all on his side.
00:34:19Well, that whole thing is turned around now.
00:34:21All right.
00:34:22Everybody is on my side.
00:34:24Hey, Brett, did you wish Mom a happy Mother's Day?
00:34:27Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
00:34:29Oh, and would wear the Brett glasses because he claimed to be better than Brett.
00:34:37So, you know, he'd take the glasses and he'd tear them in half and throw them on the ground.
00:34:40And my brother and I were there and we scrambled around and we got out with the glasses and ran away.
00:34:45You would crawl and crawl and think and try to get out of that rink in the dungeon when Dad had us in there.
00:34:52But there was nowhere for you to go, Brett.
00:34:54You were scared.
00:34:55You were shaken.
00:34:57I'm a big boy now, Brett.
00:35:01And I got you just where I want you.
00:35:03I have you at SummerSlam in a steel cage.
00:35:06He's at, like, the top of the card now.
00:35:09And I was like, okay, this is awesome.
00:35:10This really can't get any better.
00:35:12And it finally leads to the cage match with Brett.
00:35:15SummerSlam 94.
00:35:16I think it's a fever that's possessed Owen.
00:35:19And I just hope he recovers from it someday.
00:35:23It was very exciting to see it up close.
00:35:25And they had a great match.
00:35:26Sure, there's family pride.
00:35:28Sure, there's family honor.
00:35:29But also, the World Wrestling Federation Championship is at stake here.
00:35:34You can see all those two guys in the cage, man.
00:35:35And you're going to see a match.
00:35:44Unbelievable!
00:35:46Unbelievable!
00:35:48Never seen anything like that.
00:35:50They're both finished.
00:35:52Yeah, we didn't really want to have a bloodbath or anything like that.
00:35:54We wanted to have a good wrestling match.
00:35:56And I thought we really rose to the occasion that day.
00:35:59Oh!
00:36:00Oh!
00:36:01Oh!
00:36:01Oh!
00:36:01Oh!
00:36:02Oh!
00:36:02Oh!
00:36:03Oh!
00:36:03Oh!
00:36:04Oh!
00:36:04Oh!
00:36:14The rivalry that Brett and Owen had, it really helped Owen turn a corner in his career.
00:36:19I've earned the recognition.
00:36:21I've stepped out of your shadow.
00:36:23He went from being a good hand
00:36:25to being a main event talent.
00:36:27You're looking at wrestling
00:36:28at its best right here.
00:36:37Oh, I got one great one.
00:36:39I got, like, my favorite Owen story
00:36:41that I've known that I was a part of
00:36:43was the funniest thing ever.
00:36:45It was Yoko and Owen
00:36:46against Davey and Lex.
00:36:49And Owen would get in the ring with Lex
00:36:51and call all these, like, power spots to Lex.
00:36:55My big thing, I was supposed to be strong, man.
00:36:57So was Davey.
00:36:58That was part of our duty, the Allied power.
00:37:00So Owen would call a press slam spot with me.
00:37:03Everybody's at the curtain because they know
00:37:05Owen was notorious for driving Lex up the wall.
00:37:09Lex Luger was supposed to press slam Owen.
00:37:11Shoot me off the ropes and press slam me.
00:37:13Hold me up there.
00:37:14He went into the spot
00:37:16and he threw Owen to the turnbuckle.
00:37:17As soon as he went to press slam him, Owen...
00:37:20Owen hooked his arm under Lex's arm
00:37:22so he couldn't fully extend him.
00:37:24He double-crossed me.
00:37:25So, like, Lex would be, oh, man,
00:37:27like, he just wasn't strong enough to do it.
00:37:29Then Owen would immediately tag Davey.
00:37:30I got in the ring and I threw Owen the ropes
00:37:32and I pressed him, like, four or five times.
00:37:34And Davey would be throwing Owen all over the...
00:37:37...pressing him multiple times,
00:37:39doing everything that Lex couldn't do to Owen.
00:37:41Davey starts jumping up and down going...
00:37:43He goes, see, Lex, I'm the strongest one of the team.
00:37:47Just to make Lex look bad,
00:37:49and, you know, Lex would get so mad.
00:37:51And Davey would turn towards me
00:37:52and Owen with a big smile on their face laughing at me.
00:37:55Literally, it was a curtain sellout for the boys in the back.
00:37:58It was like little heads all up in the curtains like this.
00:38:00It just never took that part of day-to-day existence seriously.
00:38:05And so he was a joy to be around.
00:38:11Owen was able to adapt to whatever situation he was thrown into.
00:38:15Like, teaming with Yokozuna on paper,
00:38:17that makes no sense whatsoever.
00:38:19Managed by Mr. Fuji, it just, it's like, what?
00:38:23But it worked.
00:38:26Owen Hart, the king of hearts, and my mystery partner
00:38:29are walking out of that ring with the belts around our waist.
00:38:32Whatever the storyline was that he was involved in,
00:38:36he always made it as good as it could possibly be.
00:38:40My partner went out and beat my brother, Brent,
00:38:45for the World Wrestling Federation title!
00:38:47Why is Owen teaming with this guy?
00:38:49Well, it's because he beat his brother for the title,
00:38:51something that Owen wasn't able to do.
00:38:53He right away, like, intertwines it back
00:38:55to that whole deal with Brent.
00:38:58I think he saw that as an opportunity to work with a top guy
00:39:01and be in a top position and go back into tags.
00:39:05Owen accentuated Yokozuna's strengths
00:39:08and hid his weaknesses within their match.
00:39:13You had Owen, Yokozuna, Mr. Fuji, and Jim Cornette,
00:39:17so you had, like, all of a sudden this little group of people
00:39:19that Owen could kind of play off of,
00:39:21which I always thought was pretty interesting as well.
00:39:22It was a unique triage of individuals,
00:39:26but they had chemistry.
00:39:29And Yokozuna, right now, along with his tag team partner,
00:39:32dominating the matchup, and look out!
00:39:34Oh, no!
00:39:34Here he comes down!
00:39:35Forget about it!
00:39:36And then his team with Davey was one that I was really excited about.
00:39:46Adding Davey to that group made sense.
00:39:50Owen could do anything with anybody.
00:39:53It was a great tag team, and they had a great time
00:39:55because they were just naturally really good at it.
00:39:58They weren't just good wrestlers.
00:39:59They were also great entertainers.
00:40:02It definitely came through the camera
00:40:04that, like, they were having fun.
00:40:05We love you, Bulldog!
00:40:08We love you, Diana!
00:40:10Every day was a Davey and Owen story,
00:40:12and that's the truth.
00:40:14I've always said he was the Bart Simpson of the WWE.
00:40:20They would point to each other like,
00:40:24it was Owen, it was Davey!
00:40:26He'd always, like, let Davey come out first,
00:40:28so Davey comes out first, then he runs in front,
00:40:29and he's flexing, even though Davey's the big guy of the team.
00:40:32There's one clearly where you just see Davey, like,
00:40:35grab him and pick him up.
00:40:36They're really just having the time of their life.
00:40:38Yeah, that's important.
00:40:39Come on, baby.
00:40:46Owen Hart was a big river.
00:40:48I remember one time we had a hog pen match
00:40:50with Triple H and Henry Godwin.
00:40:52And we had off to the side of the ring a whole hog pen with mud,
00:40:56and there were going to be pigs there and all that.
00:40:58They bought back the big livestock truck up to the back of the building
00:41:01and said, where do you want all these pigs or goats or both?
00:41:05There's all these wild farm animals.
00:41:07And before I could say who to contact,
00:41:11Owen said, whoa, whoa, whoa, I got it.
00:41:12Like, just follow me.
00:41:13I'll show you exactly where they go.
00:41:15Owen acted like he knew exactly what he was doing.
00:41:17Like, can you bring them in here, down the hall, and right in here?
00:41:20Straight to Vince's office.
00:41:22And I just remember, well, I went into Vince's office,
00:41:24and there's, like, chickens all over the couches,
00:41:26and there's crap everywhere,
00:41:28and pigs are knocking into his briefcase in there.
00:41:31Vince come in after lunch, open the door,
00:41:32and his office's full of pigs.
00:41:34I think Vince knew right away it was Owen the one that did it
00:41:37and just think it was hilarious,
00:41:39as if I didn't know who it was.
00:41:41I can't see any talent today doing anything like that to Vince today.
00:41:45When you go to him, Owen didn't know anything.
00:41:47He had no idea.
00:41:48He'd give you that innocent look, like,
00:41:49I don't know.
00:41:51And really, he was so good,
00:41:53he could almost convince you
00:41:54that he really didn't have anything to do with it.
00:41:57This is the kind of person Owen was.
00:41:59He did everything for a laugh.
00:42:00It was just, like, the most hilarious thing
00:42:03I ever seen in my life.
00:42:05He is truly missed.
00:42:11He was so entertaining,
00:42:13and, of course, he was a tremendous in-ring technician.
00:42:15He really had everything.
00:42:17So it was no surprise that he was battling for the Intercontinental title soon.
00:42:20And then...
00:42:21Owen Hart with a pinning combination!
00:42:24And Hart wins the Intercontinental title!
00:42:27That's kind of what that represents,
00:42:29is taking on anybody
00:42:30and being able to have a different match
00:42:32up and down the roster with everybody.
00:42:34Yeah, I think all of them exuded that.
00:42:36I'll break this seat off!
00:42:38And Owen Hart brings back more gold
00:42:40to the Hart family!
00:42:42To make the belt better
00:42:43because he was the champion,
00:42:45there's something to that.
00:42:46So I think that kind of gives him
00:42:48a little special place in history.
00:42:53To this day,
00:42:54people still talk about Owen Hart
00:42:56and his infamous Slammys.
00:43:02I think anyone from my generation,
00:43:04if you hear the word Slammy,
00:43:05the first thing you're going to think of
00:43:06is Owen Hart.
00:43:07He was IC champion,
00:43:09tag team champion,
00:43:09Slammy award winner.
00:43:11All at the same time,
00:43:12he rammed it down everybody's throat
00:43:13like it was the most important thing in the world.
00:43:15We have an award-winning wrestler
00:43:17in our family now, Mom and Dad.
00:43:19I am a Slammy award winner,
00:43:20and I am proud of him.
00:43:21He became Slammy award-winning Owen Hart,
00:43:24and he ran with that for a year and a half
00:43:26of Slammys that, like,
00:43:28didn't really technically win.
00:43:29Our next presenter...
00:43:31Woo!
00:43:32I did it again!
00:43:33And you know what?
00:43:34No, no.
00:43:35You're presenting this.
00:43:38It's like arms up in here.
00:43:40Woo!
00:43:40Woo!
00:43:42Woo!
00:43:44Woo!
00:43:48Slammy award-winning Slammy.
00:43:52I'm not just a one-time Slammy.
00:43:54I'm a two-time Slammy award winner.
00:43:55I'm a two-time Slammy award winner.
00:43:58I mean, he just constantly reminds you.
00:44:00Two-time Slammy award winner!
00:44:03I knew it!
00:44:04What makes him so great?
00:44:05He doesn't have a Slammy like I do.
00:44:07You may have two titles,
00:44:09but you don't have two Slammys!
00:44:12They're getting to, like,
00:44:12a little shoving match one time,
00:44:14and Owen Slammy falls.
00:44:17Oh!
00:44:17He just broke my Slammy!
00:44:18He just broke my Slammy!
00:44:20Dude!
00:44:20People actually gasped.
00:44:22I don't think they were gasping for,
00:44:24oh, my God, he broke the trophy.
00:44:25I think they were just more gasping at,
00:44:27oh, what is this gonna do to Owen Hart?
00:44:29And, you know,
00:44:29that says something about how much he made it mean.
00:44:32No one ever said to Owen,
00:44:33hey, you're gonna win a Slammy,
00:44:35so you're gonna carry those things around with you
00:44:37in your bag forever
00:44:38and, like, make the Slammys
00:44:40the most amazing prop you've ever had.
00:44:43That's, man, that's just a talent.
00:44:44He was so gifted and so good.
00:44:48Every time the Slammys come around,
00:44:50they always remind me of Owen,
00:44:52and I think they always will.
00:44:55Look at all the gold!
00:44:56Look at all this!
00:44:57Look at that!
00:44:58We're rich!
00:45:00When Owen, Brett, Davey, my dad,
00:45:03and Brian Pillman formed the Hart Foundation,
00:45:06it was magical watching them all come together
00:45:09because they all started together.
00:45:12My Uncle Owen and my Uncle Davey
00:45:13were having a match,
00:45:15and Brett came out and basically told them,
00:45:18guys, what are you doing fighting with each other?
00:45:20We need each other.
00:45:21That's where I cut the big, long promo
00:45:23where I said some things to the fans.
00:45:26What are you fighting for?
00:45:28To satisfy a bunch of people
00:45:30that don't know the first thing about family values.
00:45:34They push me, they push us against each other.
00:45:37They've driven this wedge.
00:45:39Between the whole family.
00:45:42Who was there for you more times than I was?
00:45:45That was tremendous TV because it's real.
00:45:47You know, who was there for you when you fell
00:45:49and hurt yourself?
00:45:50You were Brett.
00:45:51Owen was the key to that whole moment.
00:45:54I think my favorite moment of that whole thing.
00:45:58It's Owen doing something very subtle
00:46:00but very, very funny in, like, a serious moment.
00:46:04So, like, they're all hugging.
00:46:05If you go watch it back, it's the best.
00:46:07All of a sudden, you just see, like,
00:46:08Owen's rubbing, like, Brett and Davey's heads.
00:46:10Brett doesn't break it.
00:46:11He just, like, keeps the look going
00:46:13as Owen's rubbing his head from behind
00:46:15and, like, rubbing Davey,
00:46:16and he's, like, still crying.
00:46:18Owen!
00:46:20I love you!
00:46:22Owen did such a great job of being very emotional.
00:46:24And we had talked about this moment from the start,
00:46:27and now we come full circle
00:46:28where we're going to actually patch out.
00:46:30This is the first time that, like,
00:46:32Brett, Davey, and Owen had been aligned,
00:46:35which I thought was really awesome.
00:46:40You had a really interesting dynamic
00:46:42in that the hearts were red-hot heels around the globe,
00:46:45except for in Canada,
00:46:46where they were red-hot babyfaces.
00:46:47You'll never see that again.
00:46:49America!
00:46:50They think they're better than everyone!
00:46:53We'd be in the ring,
00:46:53and the fans would be throwing stuff,
00:46:55and I'd have Nichols bouncing off my head,
00:46:57and it would hurt, you know,
00:46:58and I just remember
00:46:59there was something about the intensity
00:47:02and the way they hated us.
00:47:04United we stand, divided you will fall.
00:47:07Canada is a country
00:47:08where we still take care of the sick and the old.
00:47:11I feel great pride just to be a Canadian,
00:47:12to be able to see Owen and Brett
00:47:14and the British Bulldog.
00:47:14In a lot of ways,
00:47:16I think Owen was the glue of that.
00:47:18He was able to kind of keep that seriousness,
00:47:20but yet with a little bit of a wink,
00:47:22that made you want to watch him,
00:47:23because he's entertaining.
00:47:25They are national heroes all throughout Canada.
00:47:29It was one of those rare instances
00:47:30where it kind of galvanizes the entire country
00:47:33into this, like, yeah, those are our boys,
00:47:36and I was right there with them.
00:47:38Owen could never be bad.
00:47:40Even when he was trying to be bad,
00:47:41he could never be bad,
00:47:42but it was just fun trying to watch him be bad.
00:47:44That Stampede pay-per-view in Calgary was unbelievable.
00:47:53I have people today still talking about it.
00:47:54It was like the greatest day that ever happened in Calgary.
00:47:57This is going to be a homecoming
00:47:59that Canada won't forget.
00:48:00You American bums,
00:48:02we are going to kick the hell out of you.
00:48:04I was at that pay-per-view.
00:48:06The crowd noise for that was
00:48:08probably the loudest that I've ever heard as a fan.
00:48:10I just remember the camera actually shaking
00:48:13and just thinking how badly I wanted to be in that match.
00:48:17This building is shaking!
00:48:19You're going to be here!
00:48:20The building is!
00:48:22Anvil chant so loud.
00:48:24Owen, Hitman.
00:48:26I mean, the atmosphere in there was insane.
00:48:28One, two, one!
00:48:30We were all there.
00:48:35I don't know who opened up the ring,
00:48:36but we all started getting in.
00:48:38And then the coolest part of all was our children,
00:48:41and there was a lot of them.
00:48:42All just swooped in,
00:48:43and the more that came in the ring,
00:48:45the happier we were.
00:48:48A bunch of kids that started out in Calgary,
00:48:50with Stampede wrestling.
00:48:51It was very powerful for, I think,
00:48:54not just for me and my family,
00:48:55but I think it was powerful for the fans.
00:48:58It was this magical moment
00:48:59of where those guys started,
00:49:01and they were living their dreams together.
00:49:04Of all things, I'm wearing an Owen Hart shirt
00:49:05that I got that day.
00:49:11It's kind of cool.
00:49:13It's something that will always be
00:49:20such a special part of our family
00:49:22because it was the last time
00:49:25we were all together.
00:49:26And see how proud my grandfather was
00:49:29of everything that he built,
00:49:31and see how proud his sons were
00:49:34to carry that torch.
00:49:37It was a dream.
00:49:50That whole last ride is the Hart Foundation
00:49:54with Owen and Neidhart and Davey.
00:49:57I can just lie on my back
00:49:59and put my hands behind my head
00:50:00and float away thinking about all kinds
00:50:02of different memories from those days.
00:50:05Within a few months,
00:50:06everything had changed.
00:50:08The death of Brian Pillman in October,
00:50:11and then the infamous match in Montreal
00:50:14changed so many things.
00:50:16The screwjob was a lousy deal,
00:50:22but if I had to go through the screwjob
00:50:24just to enjoy those time period
00:50:26with Owen and Davey,
00:50:27I wouldn't change a thing.
00:50:30You know, after Brett and Vince
00:50:31had that conflict,
00:50:32our family really kind of became divided.
00:50:36And I think Owen was just doing
00:50:38the best he could
00:50:38to keep himself above board.
00:50:40I think he was conflicted for sure.
00:50:42I think his heart was with the WWE
00:50:45where, you know,
00:50:46he had a very stable position.
00:50:48He was making good money,
00:50:49but he was also upset
00:50:51with what had happened with Brett.
00:50:53All of a sudden,
00:50:54he's there by himself
00:50:55because Davey had left
00:50:56and Jim the Anvil had left.
00:50:59He survived the pain and strife
00:51:01of his family
00:51:03not getting along with the boss.
00:51:06The fact that he could swallow that
00:51:08and do good business going forward
00:51:10is a testament to what a good guy he was.
00:51:14Owen was one of the first guys
00:51:15the next day that we spoke with,
00:51:18you know,
00:51:18and Owen was like,
00:51:20I get the situation.
00:51:21Like, I'm staying here.
00:51:22I want to keep my job.
00:51:23I want to make money
00:51:24and I want to do this what we do
00:51:26and I'm not going anywhere.
00:51:27And great.
00:51:28Vince McMahon made him an offer
00:51:30he couldn't refuse,
00:51:31you know,
00:51:31an offer to more money
00:51:32and with some reservations
00:51:33decided to stay where he was.
00:51:36He didn't really want to go anyway.
00:51:37He was going to go,
00:51:39I think,
00:51:39as to loyalty to me.
00:51:41I don't think he felt comfortable
00:51:42with what they had in mind
00:51:43with him
00:51:44and for him down there.
00:51:47We saw a lot of good Owen Hart stuff
00:51:50after that.
00:51:52Loved him in the nation,
00:51:53you know,
00:51:54but it just seemed like
00:51:55a little bit of the joy
00:51:57was gone.
00:52:03Owen was a very unique guy
00:52:04on the road.
00:52:06Owen was the kind of guy
00:52:07that would make friends
00:52:08with fans.
00:52:09He had an entire network
00:52:12of people
00:52:12that he could rely on.
00:52:13You know,
00:52:14like we'd land at the airport
00:52:15or something,
00:52:15I'd go,
00:52:15Owen,
00:52:16who are you riding with?
00:52:16Like,
00:52:16you want me to get the rental car?
00:52:17Are you going to get the car?
00:52:18Whatever.
00:52:19You want to ride together?
00:52:20And he'd go,
00:52:20oh no,
00:52:21I got some friends
00:52:22who are meeting me here.
00:52:23So I thought,
00:52:24well, cool,
00:52:24if they're friends of yours
00:52:25and cool,
00:52:25you know,
00:52:26yeah,
00:52:26can I come?
00:52:27And then we'd be there
00:52:28and they'd just be
00:52:28really diehard fans.
00:52:32I remember him suggesting
00:52:33sometimes that I would stay
00:52:34at a fan's house with him
00:52:35and there was some doctor
00:52:37in Pennsylvania
00:52:38that used to stay
00:52:38at his ranch or farm
00:52:40all the time
00:52:40and he had animals
00:52:41and it sounded like a mess,
00:52:45you know,
00:52:45like a real nightmare.
00:52:46So I remember thinking,
00:52:47I'll just stay at a hotel.
00:52:49Avoid all that.
00:52:51This is the craziest thing
00:52:52I've ever heard
00:52:53because you're actually
00:52:54going to sleep
00:52:55in someone else's guest room
00:52:57not knowing them that well
00:52:59and what if you wake up
00:53:02in the middle of the night
00:53:02and the whole family
00:53:03is kind of semi-circled
00:53:05around the bed
00:53:05watching you sleep.
00:53:07But that was Owen.
00:53:09He made friends with people.
00:53:10He trusted people.
00:53:12I guarantee you
00:53:13he always made the fan
00:53:14think they got
00:53:16their money's worth.
00:53:17No matter what they spent on him,
00:53:18no matter how far they took him,
00:53:19Owen was such an entertaining guy
00:53:21and such a really cool guy
00:53:22that I'm sure
00:53:23they were always happy.
00:53:24You know,
00:53:25he really embraced these people.
00:53:26It wasn't like he was using them
00:53:28because I remember one time
00:53:30he missed a loop,
00:53:32including the garden,
00:53:34in order to go to the wedding
00:53:36of one of these friends
00:53:39on the road.
00:53:40And I did the math for him.
00:53:43I said,
00:53:43so over the course of time,
00:53:45he's probably saved you
00:53:46X number of dollars.
00:53:47You know,
00:53:47he said,
00:53:48yeah.
00:53:48I said,
00:53:49he just cost you the garden,
00:53:52Philadelphia,
00:53:52Boston.
00:53:53He cost you five times
00:53:55when he saved you
00:53:56over the course of the years
00:53:57and Owen laughed,
00:53:58yeah,
00:53:58probably.
00:53:59But he was,
00:54:00loyalty was big to him.
00:54:04The time that Owen spent in WWE,
00:54:06he was there for
00:54:07a more wholesome era
00:54:09and then as soon as the attitude era
00:54:11came along,
00:54:12you know,
00:54:13things started to change
00:54:13in the company.
00:54:14Aubrey is ripping the clothes
00:54:16off of Debra.
00:54:17Woo!
00:54:17Woo!
00:54:18Woo!
00:54:18Woo!
00:54:18Woo!
00:54:18Woo!
00:54:18Woo!
00:54:18Woo!
00:54:19It didn't matter.
00:54:20I'll get naked,
00:54:21you'll get naked,
00:54:22all the girls will get naked.
00:54:23The crazier,
00:54:24the better.
00:54:25That's what made us,
00:54:26us.
00:54:26There were a lot of sexual innuendos
00:54:28and everything was risque
00:54:30and we were really pushing the envelope
00:54:32as far as it could be pushed
00:54:34and then all of a sudden
00:54:35along comes the blue blazer.
00:54:38The WWF needs a superhero
00:54:39and I'm here to bring him one!
00:54:42Woo!
00:54:43Owen didn't want to do anything
00:54:44that would make people question his morals
00:54:45because he was such a devoted family man.
00:54:48He just didn't want to do things
00:54:49that were going to embarrass his family,
00:54:51especially his children.
00:54:52The conditions here in the WWF
00:54:54have become deplorable.
00:54:55He was going to be this guy
00:54:56that knew better than everyone
00:54:57and was going to do righteous things
00:54:59because that's who he was.
00:55:01We didn't have to conform
00:55:02to be edgy and racy
00:55:04like everybody else in the Attitude Era.
00:55:06He just kind of adapted.
00:55:07Take your vitamins,
00:55:09say your prayers
00:55:10and drink your milk.
00:55:12Woo!
00:55:13He could take anything he was given
00:55:14and turn it into something good.
00:55:16I think the blue blazer was part of that.
00:55:18He didn't really like
00:55:19the way the business was going
00:55:21but he was happy with
00:55:22how he was doing.
00:55:28Being a wrestler
00:55:29was not as easy
00:55:30as it appears to be.
00:55:32You've got to leave your families,
00:55:33you've got a real rigorous schedule
00:55:34and with WWF based on the East Coast
00:55:37and running the majority
00:55:38of the shows on the East Coast,
00:55:40for me that's like
00:55:41an eight or nine hour flight
00:55:42back to Calgary
00:55:43and it's hell sometimes
00:55:44when you've got people like
00:55:46Dennis and Travel
00:55:47booking you
00:55:47on these non-refundable tickets.
00:55:49But, you know,
00:55:54just combined with
00:55:55some poorly booked travel
00:55:57and the schedule
00:56:00of around four days a week,
00:56:01it can be pretty hard
00:56:02but, you know,
00:56:05you pay the price
00:56:05and you see a lot of people
00:56:06that don't even have a job
00:56:08and you realize
00:56:08that you're fortunate
00:56:09maybe to have a job
00:56:10so for the next few years
00:56:12I can tolerate it
00:56:13because I'm just a young,
00:56:15virile, rugged baby.
00:56:18I can tolerate it
00:56:20for the next few years
00:56:21until I get the reward.
00:56:22I ran into him one time
00:56:25on an airplane
00:56:25from Calgary to L.A.
00:56:27I was going to Japan.
00:56:28He was going to a pay-per-view.
00:56:29It was a Sunday morning
00:56:30and I know that he wanted to sleep
00:56:32and so did I
00:56:33but we ended up talking
00:56:34for three hours
00:56:35and I remember
00:56:36all he had on him
00:56:37was a carry-on bag
00:56:40that looked like a shaving kit.
00:56:41I used to call Owen
00:56:42King of Carry-On.
00:56:44And I'm like,
00:56:45where's all your stuff?
00:56:46He goes,
00:56:46this is my stuff.
00:56:47He would never check a bag
00:56:48no matter how many days
00:56:50we were on the road.
00:56:50He would pack
00:56:51just a small little bag
00:56:53for two weeks on the road.
00:56:55Full of underwear
00:56:56and t-shirts and socks.
00:56:58It was one pair of gym clothes,
00:56:59wash them in the kitchen,
00:57:00you know,
00:57:01in the sink,
00:57:01in the bathroom,
00:57:02the hotel,
00:57:03hang them up
00:57:03and that was his gym clothes
00:57:05throughout.
00:57:05I said,
00:57:05why don't you pack it?
00:57:06He says,
00:57:06because I want to get off
00:57:08the plane
00:57:08as soon as I possibly can
00:57:11to get home quicker.
00:57:12Because when you live
00:57:13in Calgary,
00:57:15everything's a connection
00:57:17and if you miss it,
00:57:19you know,
00:57:19you're losing a day off.
00:57:20So Owen would sprint
00:57:22through the airport
00:57:22to make connections
00:57:23and he always,
00:57:24we called him
00:57:24King of Carry-On.
00:57:25I don't like waiting
00:57:26for bags.
00:57:26I want to get off the plane,
00:57:27get right in my car
00:57:28and go home.
00:57:29Because he was really
00:57:30into going home
00:57:30and being with his family
00:57:31and all that sort of thing.
00:57:32It was a means to an end
00:57:33and getting home
00:57:35to the kids
00:57:36was the most important
00:57:37thing to him.
00:57:47Tragedy befell
00:57:50the World Wrestling Federation
00:57:51and all of us.
00:57:54Owen Hart was set
00:57:55to make an entrance
00:57:56from the ceiling
00:57:56and he fell
00:57:59from the ceiling.
00:58:02And I have the
00:58:04unfortunate responsibility
00:58:08to let everyone know
00:58:10that Owen Hart has died.
00:58:13Owen Hart has tragically died
00:58:15from that accident
00:58:16here tonight.
00:58:27It's like everything's
00:58:28in slow motion.
00:58:30You saw, like,
00:58:31the person speak
00:58:32and you heard it
00:58:33but you're not really sure
00:58:33if those are the words
00:58:34they said.
00:58:35I ran into my brother Ross
00:58:37and I, I grabbed him
00:58:41and I collapsed.
00:58:45And I pulled him down
00:58:46and I said,
00:58:47Owen's dead, Owen's dead.
00:58:50There's nothing
00:58:50that could prepare us
00:58:52for something like that.
00:58:53It was just something
00:58:54we didn't foresee.
00:58:55Words failed us.
00:58:57Nobody, nobody knew
00:58:58what to say.
00:58:59People were sitting
00:59:00on the, uh,
00:59:01on the steps.
00:59:03Uh, my sisters
00:59:07were wringing their hands
00:59:08and crying.
00:59:10Everybody had pictures.
00:59:11I still can't, uh,
00:59:13um, believe it.
00:59:15I mean, even when
00:59:15I'm talking about it now,
00:59:16I don't think any of us
00:59:17ever came, it's weird.
00:59:18Uh, I don't think
00:59:19we ever came to grips
00:59:20with, uh,
00:59:21because after Owen died,
00:59:22our family
00:59:24just wasn't the same.
00:59:29And,
00:59:30it really was hard
00:59:33for us to get through it.
00:59:34We just never recovered.
00:59:36It was an accident.
00:59:38Just a horrible accident
00:59:39and, uh,
00:59:41no one could have, um,
00:59:43you know,
00:59:44known how bad
00:59:45it would go that day.
00:59:46We went to the hospital
00:59:47and it was, uh,
00:59:48us and Jeff.
00:59:50And we sat there
00:59:51until the wee hours
00:59:51of the morning
00:59:52just kind of
00:59:53not fully understanding
00:59:55or grasping.
00:59:56Ladies and gentlemen,
01:00:08may I ask you
01:00:09to please rise
01:00:10and join
01:00:11the WWF superstars
01:00:14as we pay
01:00:15our respects
01:00:17to Owen Hart.
01:00:24I still look back
01:00:25on that show
01:00:26I feel like
01:00:26it was more
01:00:27for the talent.
01:00:30Owen Hart,
01:00:31this one's for you.
01:00:33Woo!
01:00:34The next night
01:00:34was a big step
01:00:35on the road
01:00:36to healing.
01:00:37What do you say
01:00:38to me and you
01:00:39go tell some
01:00:39Owen stories?
01:00:41They said,
01:00:42look,
01:00:42here's what we have
01:00:43for matches.
01:00:44Here's what we have
01:00:45for a storyline.
01:00:47But you guys
01:00:48can do whatever
01:00:48you want to do.
01:00:49I've always
01:00:50wrote poetry
01:00:52my whole life.
01:00:53You wonder aimlessly
01:00:54looking to the sky.
01:00:56You feel the burn
01:00:57when you cry.
01:01:00Owen liked
01:01:00hearing what I wrote.
01:01:09To struggle
01:01:10to wrap your head around
01:01:12and there is no answer
01:01:13on how to deal with it.
01:01:14There's no answer
01:01:15for anybody to deal with it.
01:01:16To see how much
01:01:17it affected everyone
01:01:18and it's just
01:01:20it's very emotional.
01:01:21It is really,
01:01:36really cool
01:01:36that Owen had
01:01:38his last match
01:01:39with Christian
01:01:39because Christian
01:01:40is one of our best friends.
01:01:41I think you saw
01:01:42these young Canadian guys
01:01:43that were kind of green
01:01:44didn't really have a clue
01:01:45what was going on
01:01:45so he kind of
01:01:46took us all under his wing.
01:01:47Owen knew what it was like
01:01:48to be the baby
01:01:49and to come up
01:01:50when you were very young
01:01:51and he saw that
01:01:51in Edge and Christian.
01:01:52They started in WWE
01:01:53when they were really,
01:01:54really young.
01:01:55As a 23-year-old
01:01:56just really traveling
01:01:58on planes
01:01:59almost for the first time
01:02:00we always looked
01:02:01for Owen
01:02:01as soon as we got
01:02:02to the airport
01:02:03and hoped that
01:02:03his connection was there.
01:02:05When we all started
01:02:05in WWE,
01:02:06Christian and Edge
01:02:07really looked out
01:02:08for us
01:02:09the same way
01:02:10that Owen really
01:02:11looked out for them.
01:02:12My second pay-per-view
01:02:12was in Hamilton
01:02:13and we were still doing
01:02:15In Your House
01:02:15at that point
01:02:16and it was Breakdown
01:02:17and I had Owen
01:02:18in a one-on-one match.
01:02:20I just wanted to get in
01:02:21and wrestle with him
01:02:22and I just remember
01:02:24having all these ideas
01:02:25and he said,
01:02:25okay,
01:02:26well,
01:02:26let's give him a shot.
01:02:29I was so happy
01:02:30with the match
01:02:30and so happy
01:02:31with the fact
01:02:32that I just got to say
01:02:33I wrestled Owen Hart
01:02:35on a pay-per-view
01:02:36in Canada.
01:02:37And I actually
01:02:38at that point in time
01:02:39had left WCW
01:02:41to come to WWE.
01:02:43If you would have made
01:02:44a top ten reasons
01:02:45why I left WCW,
01:02:48getting the opportunity
01:02:49to maybe wrestle Owen Hart
01:02:50would have been
01:02:51on that list.
01:02:52But I remember thinking,
01:02:53like,
01:02:53I was so close,
01:02:54like,
01:02:55I almost had my chance
01:02:56to wrestle with him
01:02:57and that might sound
01:02:58kind of callous,
01:02:59but it's not callous,
01:03:00it comes from the heart
01:03:01because if it wasn't
01:03:02for Owen Hart,
01:03:03I might not be here.
01:03:05Chris Jericho,
01:03:05I think,
01:03:06has discussed being,
01:03:07openly being directly
01:03:08influenced by Owen
01:03:08and how many
01:03:09of my generation
01:03:10has been influenced
01:03:11by Jericho.
01:03:12I think we're all
01:03:13indirectly influenced
01:03:14by Owen Hart.
01:03:15There's a lot of pride
01:03:16involved in the fact
01:03:17that now my name's
01:03:18Kevin Owens.
01:03:18Obviously,
01:03:19it is a tribute
01:03:19to my son,
01:03:20but the whole tribute
01:03:21to my son
01:03:22started as a tribute
01:03:23to Owen Hart.
01:03:24When my wife got pregnant,
01:03:25I told her,
01:03:25well,
01:03:25if it's a boy,
01:03:27it's got to be Owen
01:03:27because once he passed away,
01:03:30all of these people
01:03:31came out
01:03:32to say how great
01:03:33of a person he was
01:03:34and how incredibly
01:03:36important his family
01:03:37was for him,
01:03:37and in my head,
01:03:38I was like,
01:03:38if I ever have a son,
01:03:40that's what I want him
01:03:41to be.
01:03:44I remember
01:03:45several times
01:03:49guys asking me
01:03:50to elaborate
01:03:50on stories
01:03:52that they heard
01:03:53that Owen did
01:03:54and if it was true,
01:03:56and I was like,
01:03:57it was all true.
01:03:58His legacy
01:03:59is that here we are
01:04:00all these years later,
01:04:02still talking about Owen,
01:04:04still talking about him
01:04:05driving down the road
01:04:06throwing stink bombs
01:04:07in your car.
01:04:08Owen had that
01:04:09childlike quality
01:04:10about him.
01:04:11He was,
01:04:11you know,
01:04:12a grown man,
01:04:13but he just really
01:04:15had never grown up.
01:04:16There's so many
01:04:16heartwarming stories
01:04:17about Owen out there
01:04:18that you can go
01:04:18to any wrestler.
01:04:19Right away,
01:04:20they start with stories
01:04:21about Owen.
01:04:22Very heartwarming,
01:04:23compassionate stories
01:04:24of a guy with a big heart
01:04:25that was always there
01:04:26for so many people.
01:04:28stories backstage,
01:04:29not just about his ribs
01:04:31and his thriftiness,
01:04:33but also his kindness
01:04:34and his decency
01:04:35as a human being.
01:04:37Keep up the good work.
01:04:38You'll never go wrong
01:04:39getting a good education
01:04:41and staying in school.
01:04:42I love talking about him
01:04:43because it makes me smile.
01:04:45Now this is the best thing
01:04:46that I've seen all day.
01:04:48I'm out here,
01:04:49look into the mirror.
01:04:51That'll bring a smile
01:04:52to anyone's face.
01:04:54Losing Owen,
01:04:55it's like having
01:04:56a perfect smile.
01:04:57It's like losing
01:04:57your front tooth
01:04:58and it's irreplaceable.
01:05:01Fans can tell
01:05:02who's passionate
01:05:03and who cares
01:05:04and who enjoys themselves
01:05:05when they're performing.
01:05:07And to me,
01:05:08Owen Hart always looked
01:05:09like he was enjoying himself.
01:05:11And that was probably
01:05:12the most appealing
01:05:13thing about him.
01:05:14He loved being around
01:05:14the fans.
01:05:16He loved being around
01:05:17the boys.
01:05:18He was the perfect
01:05:19guy to have a locker room.
01:05:21He never was involved
01:05:23with drama
01:05:23with anyone on the road.
01:05:25He never had anything
01:05:26scandalous happen.
01:05:27He just loved living his life.
01:05:28He loved the people
01:05:29he worked with.
01:05:30He loved going home.
01:05:31Wrestling didn't define him.
01:05:33It wasn't everything to him.
01:05:35It wasn't the most important thing
01:05:36in his world or his life.
01:05:38That's one thing
01:05:38that I always took from Owen
01:05:40is not to take this
01:05:41too seriously
01:05:42because it ends.
01:05:45He had a plan.
01:05:46Bank as much money
01:05:47as he could
01:05:48so that he could
01:05:49get out of the business.
01:05:51He was going to be
01:05:52Mr. Mom.
01:05:52He was, uh,
01:05:53he loved his kids.
01:05:55He was, um,
01:05:57a great husband,
01:05:59great father.
01:06:00Everyone has the bad qualities.
01:06:01Everybody has the good qualities,
01:06:02you know,
01:06:03but Owen never had
01:06:04a bad quality.
01:06:05I was thankful
01:06:06to God
01:06:07that I got to know Owen
01:06:09and my regret is
01:06:10I didn't get to know him better.
01:06:12What I'll miss the most
01:06:15about Owen
01:06:16was just the person
01:06:17that he was
01:06:18and how I wish
01:06:20I got to know him
01:06:21more than he did.
01:06:22I feel like
01:06:23his life was really cut short
01:06:25that we didn't get to know him.
01:06:27I can transport myself
01:06:29all the time
01:06:30back to time and place
01:06:32with Owen.
01:06:33I have so many
01:06:34really fun,
01:06:36happy memories
01:06:37with Owen.
01:06:39I feel his presence
01:06:40all the time.
01:06:41Usually when my keys
01:06:42are missing
01:06:42or something
01:06:43like Owen,
01:06:43I know Owen's got
01:06:44my keys somewhere.
01:06:45Gracias por ver el video.
