00:01Warning, what you're about to see could be disturbing to some viewers.
00:06Viewer discretion is advised.
00:14I bet you'd never expect to see a malevolent clown haunting a lonely highway.
00:22Some of the clowns are holding weapons, some of them are carrying bats.
00:26What the ?
00:27People are so freaked out that they call the police.
00:32Or a hairy hominid strutting by your train window.
00:36It's uncommon in Bigfoot videos to have multiple witnesses.
00:39Typically, it's one person alone in the wilderness. This is not that.
00:43Suddenly, everyone is talking about this modern-day Bigfoot sighting.
00:47How about a flaming flash of light that sparks an out-of-this-world 911 call?
00:52They look like aliens close. They have big eyes. They're 100% they're not human.
00:57This is Las Vegas. Cops have responded to all kinds of calls.
01:00And you would think they would poo-poo the situation.
01:02But in fact, these cops had their own encounter.
01:05My partner said they saw something fall out of this guy, too.
01:09These are the sightings so strange they are truly unbelievable.
01:14With any strange sighting, it's easy to dismiss a single report as an anomaly.
01:31But when there are multiple eyewitnesses, investigators have to look beyond the obvious and consider the unbelievable.
01:38It is spring of 1975, and ranchers across Colorado begin discovering dead cows in their fields.
01:52These cows aren't just dead. They're mutilated in really bizarre ways.
01:58Ears, eyes, udders, genitals have all been removed with surgical precision.
02:04Another weird aspect of this phenomenon is that these cows are typically found lying on their left side, and there's no blood.
02:14Now, we need to understand that cows have five gallons of blood in them.
02:18To find a dead cow that's been mutilated with no blood anywhere, well, that's weird.
02:23Over the next six months, the body count skyrockets to 200.
02:28And local ranchers want answers.
02:30Game and wildlife officials are certain that it must be the work of scavengers.
02:37And yet, there are no footprints. There is no damage to the surrounding vegetation.
02:44There's no claw marks or teeth marks or any sort of sign that something was chewing on them.
02:50So, with no answers in sight, these ranchers call their U.S. Congressman Floyd Haskell.
02:55And basically beg him to bring in the FBI.
03:00As similar reports start pouring in from 11 other states, the FBI has no choice but to act.
03:08So, the FBI assigns about 100 agents to this problem, and they start interviewing eyewitnesses.
03:12A common theory that pops up is that some sort of satanic cult is running around the country mutilating cows.
03:20The FBI looks into it, but can't find any evidence.
03:23And a big problem with this theory is even satanic cult members will leave footprints.
03:28The feds perform stakeouts, autopsies, they look for witnesses, they come up with nothing.
03:39Meanwhile, local investigators come up with their own unusual theory.
03:44Independent researchers plot out these strange deaths on a map, and they notice something bizarre.
03:50Most of these deaths cluster around a single line of latitude known as the North 37th parallel,
03:59which crosses Kansas, Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado.
04:05Looking at that cow mutilation data, one New Mexico deputy sheriff, a guy by the name of Chuck Sikowski,
04:11finds something interesting.
04:13The cow mutilations correlate with known UFO sightings that have occurred during that time.
04:19Across this one line of latitude.
04:22Also, there are an awful lot of important and sometimes secret government and military facilities all along that same line.
04:31Fort Knox, Area 51, Air Force bases, missile silos.
04:38The 37th parallel correlations start to engender speculation that maybe the cattle mutilations
04:49and some of the related events like UFO sightings are signs of a secret government op.
04:56Maybe some strange airborne weapon is being tested on the mutilated cows.
05:02This theory gets so serious, in fact, that the National Guard orders their helicopter pilots to fly above 2,000 feet
05:08when they're flying over cattle ranches because of a legitimate fear that ranchers will start taking pot shots at US military helicopters to protect their cattle.
05:17In the end, after 50 years of investigation of this mystery, we still have no smoking gun or alien death ray.
05:31What we have is thousands of dead cows.
05:37Far from the 37th parallel, and nearly 20 years later, a group of school children spot something that will haunt them for a lifetime.
05:47It's 1994 in Rua, Zimbabwe, at the aerial school, and it's a typical school scene.
05:55Kids are running around at recess, the teachers are all inside, enjoying a break.
06:00All of a sudden, all hell breaks loose.
06:02The kids start pouring into the building, telling the teachers that they saw something very strange.
06:07Some of the kids describe having seen two lights in the sky that are orange.
06:13And these lights appear to be getting closer, and then they're revealed as having this disc-like shape.
06:22Once these strange crafts land, the children get an incredible look at who or what is driving them.
06:29They're even able to sketch the scene for their teachers.
06:33You can see in the drawings that all of their descriptions are incredibly similar.
06:37Many of the children report seeing these same shorter humanoid creatures walking around the craft.
06:43All the children seem to draw, though, one sort of consistent image of these strange people or figures.
06:50They all have very large eyes and very large heads.
06:53The eyes that a lot of the kids put in these drawings are very intense.
06:57And that's not really surprising at all because they describe this experience where if they make eye contact with the beings,
07:06those beings begin to communicate with them telepathically.
07:10According to the children, the visitors share an ominous warning.
07:14That technology would be man's downfall, and we need to act quickly to save the planet.
07:19There's also a man that reports seeing two glowing lights in the sky in the distance.
07:26And the night before, there is a trucker who reports that he sees these two strange beings in the road.
07:32This is a pretty big deal.
07:36We're talking about a large group of people seeing the same thing in broad daylight, but nobody believes them.
07:44The teachers are inside the classrooms. They cannot corroborate what the children saw.
07:48Many of the parents have doubts. This is devastating to these kids who say they clearly saw something.
07:53Soon, the sighting gets the attention of UFO researchers around the globe, eager to interview the young eyewitnesses.
08:01Could you tell me what you saw on Friday?
08:04Well, it looked round about like a disc.
08:08They had big black eyes.
08:11There are two researchers who come, Cynthia Hines, who's investigated other sightings in the area,
08:15and John Mack, a psychiatrist from Harvard.
08:18Both of these researchers interview the kids, and they both walk away believing what the kids have to tell them.
08:24But these interviews aren't without controversy.
08:27For starters, Hines interviews the children in small groups, which might be a problem because you might have cross-contamination of the information that's being given in the interviews.
08:36Of those who've analyzed the testimony, there seem to be two camps.
08:39One say this is the most compelling evidence for alien visitation ever, over 60 witnesses.
08:45Others say this is the most compelling case of mass hysteria they've ever seen.
08:49Still, three decades later, the witnesses themselves stand by their stories.
08:55And they still feel stigmatized and criticized, but in the midst of all that, they're not backing away from their story.
09:02And that makes it pretty compelling.
09:05Anybody who's ever tried getting two kids to agree on what movie to watch knows that getting 60 to make up the same story seems impossible.
09:17With each new hurricane season, meteorologists around the globe spend billions of dollars in high-tech radar tracking equipment,
09:25just to give up-to-date information for evacuations.
09:27But on one small island off South Carolina, the early warning system is rather unusual.
09:34And it dates back some 200 years.
09:39Imagine, it's a beautiful summer day on Pawleys Island, South Carolina.
09:44The sky is blue, the sun is shining, we're seaside with the waves rolling.
09:48But then news of a hurricane arrives.
09:51As night falls, neighbors aren't sure whether to evacuate or hunker down in their homes.
09:57And then this strange gray man appears.
10:01Residents repeatedly describe witnessing this gray apparitional figure cloaked in a large gray overcoat moving along the coast.
10:15But the gray man has a purpose.
10:19The locals believe that when the gray man shows up, it's time to evacuate the island.
10:25And as the legend goes, those who heed the gray man's warnings, they're going to be okay and their property is going to be okay.
10:33And those who ignore the gray man do so at their own peril.
10:37The origin of this astonishing legend is a little murky, but it hasn't stopped residents from speculating over the years.
10:46According to one story, a sailor returns home to find that his fiancee is cheating on him.
10:54Distraught, he commits suicide by throwing himself into the Waccamaw River.
11:01And the ghost of the jilted sailor now walks the shoreline in grief just before a hurricane is about to strike the island.
11:12Another theory is that the gray man is actually a man named George Pauly.
11:18He was the original owner of Pauly's Island in the 1700s.
11:22Some people believe that he still roams the area trying to keep everybody safe.
11:26By far the most popular tale is one that dates back to 1822.
11:33A sailor returning home is so eager to see his fiancee that he drives his speeding carriage into a marsh where he drowns.
11:47His fiancee is so overcome with grief that she wanders the shore aimlessly.
11:53One day, a shadowy gray figure approaches her and she recognizes him as her dead fiancee.
12:01She tries to engage him in conversation, but all he does is warn her about a storm that's coming and tell her to evacuate.
12:09After this strange encounter with the gray man, she goes and tells her family and they heed the warning.
12:16They pack up and they move to a property that's much more inland.
12:19The storm hits and the entire area is destroyed except for their home.
12:26As legend goes, it's because she listened to the gray man.
12:29No matter which version you believe, the gray man is a welcome sight.
12:33Very few of us want to see a ghost, but if the gray man appears to you, he has elected to save you.
12:42So it could be considered a lucky apparition.
12:46Running into mysterious figures in the dark isn't always a good thing.
12:52Sometimes it can cause a nationwide panic.
12:57August 2016, alarmed citizens of Green Bay, Wisconsin post pictures on social media of a menacing figure standing below a highway overpass.
13:07The figure is this very eerie clown just walking with a cluster of black balloons.
13:18People are so freaked out that they call the police demanding that they do something about it, arrest them.
13:24The police are dismissive.
13:27It's not illegal to stand around being a creepy clown.
13:32Weeks later, terrified children in North Carolina begin reporting their own sightings of a creepy, threatening-looking clown.
13:43They say that this clown is trying to lure them into the woods with the promise of the things that we warn children about.
13:53I will give you candy. We will have so much fun. Please come into the woods with me.
13:57The story becomes a sensation all over the country.
14:02People start flooding at news stations and social media with pictures and reports.
14:07What the ?
14:14Creepy clowns are showing up on ring cameras, dashcams, iPhone cameras.
14:20Hashtag creepy clown is trending at the top.
14:23It's dubbed the Great Clown Panic.
14:27Stories of clowns attacking people and trying to abduct children pop up everywhere.
14:32From Florida to Pennsylvania, Washington, and California.
14:35And soon, the images start to get a little scarier.
14:40Some of the clowns are carrying bats. Some of them are holding weapons.
14:44This really gets people riled up and terrified.
14:49By October, the panic has jumped across the pond to England and European countries.
14:54The Russian embassy in London even issues a warning to Russian citizens to beware of these creepy clowns.
15:01It gets bad enough that vigilante groups form clown patrols across the US and Europe.
15:08When malevolent clown reports start popping up on the campus of Penn State, students organized into a flash mob with the intent of hunting down these threatening clowns.
15:22The mob turns up nothing.
15:25This is also 2016. It's an election year and a contentious one.
15:28So this clown panic starts to get occluded by political news and eventually it just kind of is supplanted completely and goes away.
15:389-1-1 operators never know what kind of call they're going to get so they try to prepare for anything.
15:48But in 2023, one dispatcher in Las Vegas gets a call no one sees coming.
15:55In April 2023 in Las Vegas, 9-1-1 gets an emergency call from this kid named Angel Kenmore.
16:03And he is freaked out of his mind, utterly terrified.
16:06When Angel and his family look outside, they say they see strange creatures crawling over family equipment in the backyard.
16:31And we see there's like an eight foot person beside it and another one's inside and it has big eyes and looking at us.
16:38I swear to God, this is not a joke. This is actually, we're just terrified of it.
16:41So there's two people or two subjects that are in your backyard?
16:44Correct. And they're very large. They look like, they look like aliens to us.
16:48Big eyes, they have big eyes, like, like I can't explain it. And they're not human, 100% they're not human.
16:53BB-6-8 copy, both units and report advisor. We see any, uh, little green men.
17:00When police arrive, Angel's entire family is assembled out on the front lawn.
17:06Hey, what's up? Who called?
17:08The family is freaked out. They believe they've seen something wild.
17:13What'd you see?
17:14It was like, uh, it was like a big creature.
17:17A big creature?
17:18Yeah, like around 50 tall.
17:20This is Las Vegas. Cops have responded to all kinds of calls throughout their careers.
17:24And you would think these cops are going to kind of roll up and they will poo poo the situation, take down the report and go on about it.
17:31But in fact, these cops are actually pretty ready to talk to the Kenmore family because they have had their own encounter.
17:39Cause I'm not going to BS you guys. One of my partners said they saw something fall out of the sky too, so that's why I'm kind of curious.
17:47Oh.
17:49Caught on tape, their body cam records a large fireball screaming down from the sky, just as Angel describes on his 911 call.
18:00A lot of people in the Las Vegas area saw this fireball and reported it.
18:04So something happened and nobody quite knows what that something is.
18:10With all this speculation, NASA does eventually step into the fray and they claim that what the family and the police officers actually saw that night was a small meteorite.
18:21And they say that it would have crashed in the ocean hundreds of miles away.
18:25What's odd though is that a lot of reports from Las Vegas at the time and the family in particular, they claim that they heard the object hit the ground and make an impact.
18:34So if the object fell into the ocean hundreds of miles away, how do you hear an impact?
18:41I'm kind of curious now. I want to know if there's aliens.
18:45The Vegas PD takes the story seriously enough to install a surveillance camera on the roof of the family home.
18:55However, it doesn't capture footage of any intruders, human or non-human.
19:02The Vegas event is just the latest in a long line of UFO reports in the Southwest.
19:08The best known, of course, is the Roswell incident that allegedly occurred in early July 1947.
19:13But another strange sighting just prior to Roswell will coin a phrase now famous around the world.
19:21It's June 1947 and a commercial pilot named Kenneth Arnold takes off from the airport at Chehalish, Washington.
19:32And he's flying to Pendleton, Oregon to participate in an air show.
19:37It's a beautiful day. Skies are blue. Turbulence is clear and Arnold decides to take a small detour.
19:42He's recently heard that a military transport carrying 32 Marines has crashed.
19:49He's hoping to find the downed aircraft to claim the $5,000 reward.
19:53Around 3 p.m. as Arnold is circling 20 miles to the west of Mount Rainier, a brief flash of light catches his attention.
20:03That single flash quickly becomes nine objects across the sky flying in a V formation.
20:09It's something Arnold has never seen before.
20:13The objects seem to flip, bank and weave side to side, which Arnold describes as being like the tail of a Chinese kite.
20:21But what really makes Arnold's heart pound is their incredible speed.
20:27Arnold clocks these objects as travelling at about 1,700 miles an hour.
20:32I mean, no human pilot has ever flown at speeds anywhere near that.
20:39This is just before Chuck Yeager breaks the sound barrier and becomes the fastest man alive flying at 700 miles an hour.
20:48Arnold immediately reports his sighting and ignites a media firestorm, one that generates an iconic phrase that will be associated with UFOs forever.
21:01Arnold tells a journalist that the way the objects moved, it looked like they were saucers skipping on water.
21:08Well, what happens next is one of the greatest misquotes in UFO history and the term flying saucer is born.
21:19Other corroborating witnesses step forward, including a prospector on Mount Adams who reports seeing the same objects in the same formation at the same time as Ken's sighting.
21:32The Air Force eventually gets involved and begins to investigate Arnold's claim.
21:37Kenneth Arnold sticks to his guns. He is an extremely experienced pilot.
21:42He's got 9,000 flying hours under his belt. He's adamant this was no mirage. These were real, solid craft.
21:51They interview him as well as the prospector and they do decide that, yeah, these guys are credible.
21:58But they're not willing to go so far as to say that what they saw were aircraft.
22:05The Air Force turns around and says what they actually saw was a mirage.
22:09Even in the face of government denial, Ken sticks to his story until his death in 1984.
22:16It's not clear what Kenneth Arnold saw that day, but what we do know is that Arnold helped create the stickiest catchphrase in UFO history.
22:24Flying saucer. And we can't take that away.
22:30As somebody who's had his own encounters with UAPs, I'll just say, if you see one, you'll know.
22:37Florida's I-4 highway has an infamous history. It's been called the deadliest highway in America.
22:47And many locals blame the road's scary reputation on a long history of peculiar sightings.
22:53There is a quarter-mile sliver of highway that connects Tampa to Daytona above the St. John's River and residents refer to it as the dead zone.
23:07People have reported some sort of odd energy vortex that's able to disconnect electronic devices.
23:15Radios, phones, computers, tablets, everything just starts shutting down.
23:20But that's not the strangest thing that happens on this highway.
23:22There's also the full-on, vivid, ghostly apparitions people see while driving at night.
23:29People describe strange orbs floating beside vehicles, ghostly horses running across the road, and a strange woman leaping into the road.
23:44According to locals, there may be a historical reason that has to do with the site the road was built on.
23:52Back in the 1870s, a man named Henry Sanford owns this land, and he sells it to a group of German immigrants who are trying to set up a colony.
24:02There is a particularly bad outbreak of yellow fever that nearly wipes the entire colony out.
24:07They bury the dead and move on, and then that land just changes hands a number of times until it becomes part of the city of Sanford.
24:17From that point on, any time the grounds are disturbed, misfortune seems to follow.
24:24In the early 20th century, a farmer removes some of the grave markers, and shortly after, his house burns down.
24:34Decades later, there is a child who is digging near this burial site, and that kid gets hit by a car.
24:44These stories are all part of the local lore, and so this area gets the nickname, the land of the dead.
24:50By the 1960s, the state of Florida acquires the land for the building of this highway.
24:59The state promises to relocate the buried bodies, but instead just removes most of the headstones and construction begins.
25:10From the day it opens in 1965, Florida's I-4 starts racking up a disturbing death toll.
25:16On opening day, in fact, a tractor trailer jackknives just above the graves, resulting in fatalities.
25:27Between 2011 and 2015, 165 people are killed on this little stretch of road, earning it yet another nickname, America's deadliest highway.
25:42It really is incredibly dangerous, but people aren't sure, is this some sort of engineering issue, or is there something supernatural at play?
25:53So the bottom line is, a lot of locals advise building this into your travel plans, and suggest that you try the scenic route.
26:03The strange sightings along I-4 could inspire a Hollywood horror movie, but they haven't yet.
26:12Unlike the bizarre events at one California seaside town that send a famous Hollywood director running for his typewriter.
26:20It's the early 1960s in Capitola, a small beach town just south of Santa Cruz, California.
26:27Hippies, surfers, families having fun.
26:31It's a nice, quiet seaside life.
26:34But this picturesque beach town is about to become a living nightmare.
26:39The residents of Capitola wake up on the morning of April 18th, 1961, to a flock of birds terrorizing the town.
26:49Residents are coming out of their houses looking up and noticing the sky has darkened from all of these birds that are just dive bombing missiles with beaks.
26:59They're attacking people and pets, and they're dive bombing houses.
27:06They're wreaking havoc.
27:09To be clear, this isn't some new migration of psychotic birds that have just flown into town.
27:15These are the seaside birds that beach goers have been feeding crackers to for years now.
27:20The only difference is they're now out for blood.
27:23Even worse, these birds are also vomiting all over Capitola.
27:27And what are they vomiting? They're vomiting up anchovies. It's a fish vomit.
27:32It's not a good sight. It's definitely not a good smell.
27:36What is causing these birds to lose their minds and attack their human neighbors?
27:41The answer might be in that fishy vomit.
27:45The seagulls are feeding on the anchovies, and the anchovies are feeding on the algae.
27:51There's been an overgrowth of algae in that area.
27:53So the main theory, biologists believe, is that the algae might contain some kind of neurotoxin.
28:00And that neurotoxin might be affecting the seagulls' brains.
28:04Was it a toxin or something more?
28:07The uncertainty leaves one chilling possibility.
28:10Even today, we don't actually know what happened to these birds.
28:15Which means it could possibly happen again.
28:19And it could be something more menacing than just a seagull.
28:22Reports of the carnage, it reads like a horror movie.
28:26And in fact, Hitchcock himself visits the town to get some inspiration while riding the birds.
28:31What a terrifying story of art imitating even more terrifying life.
28:43Since the ancient Greeks and Romans, soldiers have returned from war with tales of strange creatures encountered in battle.
28:49But one group of American marines would insist that whatever attacked them in the Vietnam jungle was no myth.
28:56And they have the scars to prove it.
28:58It's early 1966, and the captain of a company of marines receives intel of some strange movements happening in the jungle.
29:11He radios his troops to observe, but not fire.
29:15He doesn't want to give away his troops' position.
29:19He thinks it could potentially be the Viet Cong gearing up for a surprise attack.
29:24The captain then receives this puzzling report where the men say,
29:30Never mind. We've got a number of apes that are in front of our position.
29:35This strikes them as an unusual development because there are no large apes in Vietnam.
29:41They're not native there.
29:43And for there to then be a group of them directly in front of this marine position is especially curious.
29:49So the marines inform their captain that these apes are getting quite close.
29:55Being a good officer, the captain comes up with a sort of obvious solution.
30:01Just throw some rocks at the apes, scare them off, and they'll go away.
30:05Very clearly stating, though, don't open fire.
30:07These marines follow orders.
30:10They throw rocks, and the next noises that come out over the radio are all sorts of chaos and commotion.
30:18There is gunfire, there is screaming, there is yelling, there's all of this ruckus, and then the radio just goes silent.
30:29Frantic, the captain sends out a recon squad of marines to find out what the hell happened.
30:36And what they find is pure carnage.
30:39You've got marines on the ground that are banged up.
30:43Some of them have cracked skulls.
30:45Some of them are unconscious.
30:47And they ask them, what happened?
30:49Everyone reports basically the same thing.
30:51That is, they were attacked by a group of six-foot-tall, orange-haired apes that had really good throwing arms.
30:59And some of the men had to engage them in hand-to-hand combat.
31:03After the skirmish, no bodies of Vietnamese jungle apes are recovered.
31:08But this won't be the only sighting.
31:12In 1968, there's an incident also near Da Nang, where marines from Mike Company of the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines,
31:18encounter a group of stone-throwing apes occupying high ground above their positions.
31:25They open fire.
31:28But the bodies of none of these apes can be found afterward.
31:32There's just the personal accounts of the marines who eyewitnessed the incident.
31:37The reports become common enough that the stone-hurling primates earn themselves a nickname.
31:43Rock apes.
31:45It's not just the Americans that are having these experiences.
31:49We have reports that the Vietnamese also were having similar encounters with these massive apes.
31:55They refer to them as batutut, or jungle people.
31:58But the description is the same.
32:00Very tall, reddish-brownish fur, aggressive.
32:04And there's some speculation that these were maybe orangutans.
32:07But the problem is that orangutans haven't lived in Vietnam for a thousand years.
32:13So you've got all of these soldiers talking about these mysterious sightings of these rock-throwing apes,
32:18and yet none of them are able to kill any of these apes.
32:22No body is ever recovered.
32:24So what is left in terms of an explanation?
32:26What we end up with is sort of the Vietnam version of the Yeti.
32:32What makes it all the more puzzling is the fact that there are so many people that have similar encounters during a compressed period of time.
32:42So it's definitely a part of at least the folklore of the Vietnam experience.
32:46Who knows? It might even be real.
32:51Like the jungle, the ocean has also been home to some unusual encounters.
32:58May 2024, the Strait of Gibraltar, the 50-foot sailing yacht Albaran Cognac is calmly making way.
33:06Out of nowhere, a pod of aggressive orcas bears down on the boat's rudder,
33:11grabbing it in their massive jaws and tearing at it deliberately.
33:16Get up the boat!
33:18The terrified crew is powerless to fend them off, and then suddenly the rudder breaks off.
33:26Leaving the ship absolutely adrift, and believe it or not, it actually gets worse.
33:33Ripping off the rudder has opened a hole in the boat, and the boat is now rapidly taking on water.
33:40The captain issues a mayday signal. The boat is sinking.
33:46Unbelievably, this is far from the first attack by a gang of angry orcas.
33:51These attacks have happened to more than 500 captains in the last four years,
33:56and the attacks have continued to grow from the Mediterranean all the way into the North Sea.
33:59When the orcas start attacking, both captains and marine biologists are puzzled.
34:05They've never seen a behavior like this before.
34:07As scientists scramble for answers, one orca might hold the key.
34:12White Gladys.
34:13She can be spotted by the propeller scars across her back.
34:19White Gladys was the first whale known to attack a sailboat.
34:23She was pregnant about that same time, so could it be that she was trying to protect her child?
34:28What's truly remarkable is that she's now passed this knowledge onto other pods, and it's now becoming whale culture, spreading throughout other pods of whales in a way that scientists really can't comprehend.
34:43The Atlantic Orca Working Group has reported an almost 300% rise in attacks from 2020 to 2023.
34:53More shocking, however, is the public's reaction.
34:57As the stories have become viral, people start rooting for the whales.
35:02Now there are orca memes applauding the orcas, saying, eat the rich, literally.
35:08Literally.
35:11I won't say I'm rooting for the orcas, but I can admit to feeling a bit conflicted.
35:19When you go on vacation, you can only hope you'll spot something really worth photographing.
35:23Maybe some beautiful architecture or stunning scenery.
35:26What you don't expect to see is a baffling creature one man captures on film.
35:31It is October of 2023, and passengers on the narrow-gauge train from Durango to Silverton are gazing out at the beautiful unspoiled mountain wilderness outside the window.
35:48This is an old-time steam-powered railroad that is intended to recreate the experience of traveling in 1822.
36:01One passenger, who only identifies himself as Brandon, is sitting on the train looking out the window, hoping to spot some deer or some other wildlife or just take in the beauty of nature.
36:11But then he sees something pretty strange, so he whips out his smartphone.
36:15What he captures is no deer.
36:18It appears to be a large, hairy, bipedal creature crossing through rough mountain terrain in long strides.
36:25An elusive creature.
36:29Brandon shares his footage with another couple that's on the train with him.
36:33They are seeing the exact same thing, and they post it to social media.
36:37And then it takes on a life of its own.
36:40Suddenly, everyone is talking about this modern-day Bigfoot sighting.
36:43Within 48 hours, it's got tens of millions of views.
36:48A debate begins to form, and some people are saying that this is a hoax, while others are saying this is an authentic video of a Bigfoot.
36:56Now, most Bigfoot footage where it exists is shot by self-proclaimed enthusiasts, which makes the public naturally skeptical.
37:08In this case, based on what we know, Brandon wasn't looking for Bigfoot or anything unexpected.
37:15He just captured it.
37:16Another thing that makes this video interesting is that there's a lot of people on the train seeing the exact same thing.
37:25I just squatted down.
37:26It's uncommon in Bigfoot videos to have multiple witnesses. Typically, it's one person alone in the wilderness. This is not that. There's a lot of people, and they're all seeing this strange thing walking on this mountain range.
37:39It also might not be as random as it seems. Turns out, this isn't the first alleged Bigfoot sighting in the area.
37:47In August of 2000, a woman in the nearby San Juan Mountains reports an encounter with two Bigfoot-like figures.
37:56And she describes them as having the lighter, chestnut-colored hair that you see in Brandon's video.
38:09Some skeptics claim the sighting is a marketing ploy by a local business.
38:14And the company owners won't confirm or deny it.
38:17And as for the cameraman, he wants people to reach their own conclusions.
38:22You don't have to be in the remote American wilderness to spot something strange on vacation.
38:29If you happen to be a castle-hopping tourist on the West English coast, you might just stumble on a truly unbelievable sight.
38:39As Americans, we tend to think of Britain as incredibly charming.
38:45Lovely countrysides, rolling farm hills, castles, the monarchy. It's all about class.
38:53The historic town of Egremont has some of those stately trappings.
38:57But what it's actually famous for is a sight for sore eyes.
39:01For about eight centuries, Egremont has hosted the town crab fair. It's sort of a reverse beauty contest.
39:09The winner is those who can contort their face into the weirdest, most perverse visage and hold it for as long as possible.
39:22And there's a name for this type of contest. It's called Gurning.
39:25And it's actually a professional competition.
39:29One by one, contestants take to the stage and they put their head through a horse collar.
39:35And they march the stage up and down, trying to win the crowd over with the strangest contortions.
39:43These Gurners are judged on three criteria. How much they can change their face, how long they can hold that pose, and just how ugly that face is.
39:56Most beauty contests really value a lovely set of white teeth, but having no teeth is actually an advantage in Gurning.
40:04Because when you have only gums, you can collapse your nose completely into its mouth, which ends up being the showstopper.
40:11This is a big deal, considering that you've got Hall of Famers that just reside in the annals of history.
40:18The ten-time male winner, Tommy Mattinson.
40:21You've got the 24-time female winner, the late great Ann Woods, may she rest in peace.
40:26Master of the perfect pout.
40:30Sure enough, it's a strange sight for the rest of the world, but who are we to argue with centuries of British tradition?
40:41Looks like the British custom of keeping a stiff upper lip goes out the window here.
40:47From creepy clowns, to murderous gulls, ghostly highways, to alien invasions, these are the sightings so strange, they are truly unbelievable.
40:59Interpretation for every single one.
41:08Thank you for listening!
41:13Here we are in the U.S.
