00:00Hello, I am Irfan, you are watching my channel Global Insights where you know world latest
00:05news and breaking news.
00:07Today headlines are, on Genocide Charges, Turkey issued warrants for the arrest of Israeli
00:14Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and dozens of other officials.
00:18According to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, warrants have been issued for 37
00:23individuals.
00:24In addition to Netanyahu, warrants are issued against the Defense Minister of Israel, Israel
00:30Katz, the Minister of National Security, Edomar Ben-Gver, and the Military Chief of Staff,
00:36Eyal Zemir.
00:38The warrants charge the Israeli officials with crimes against humanity and genocide committed
00:43in Gaza and against the flotilla carrying aid to the enclave, according to the Prosecutor's
00:49Office.
00:50Israeli authorities stopped that flotilla last month.
00:52Israel was quick to condemn and reject the warrants.
00:56Gideon Sayar, the Israeli foreign minister, referred to the action as a PR stunt by Turkish
01:02President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
01:05Sayar stated in a social media post,
01:07In Erdogan's Turkey, the judiciary has long since become a tool for silencing political
01:12rivals and detaining journalists, judges, and mayors, referring to the arrest of Istanbul
01:17Mayor Ikram Imamoglu earlier this year.
01:20Imamoglu, a significant rival to Erdogan, was detained in March as part of investigations
01:26into terrorism and corruption.
01:29Confirms the noble positions of the Turkish people and its leadership, Hamas said of the
01:34warrants.
01:35The Turkish warrants raised concerns regarding Turkey's participation in a global security
01:40force for Gaza to uphold the U.S.-mediated cease-fire agreement.
01:44An important component of U.S. President Donald Trump's 20-point cease-fire plan, an International
01:50Stabilization Force, ISF, for Gaza, was discussed earlier this week at a meeting in Istanbul between
01:57countries with a majority Muslim population.
02:00The temporary force would train a new Palestinian police force and help stabilize the enclave.
02:05U.S. officials have cited Turkey, which played an important role in getting Hamas to agree
02:10to a cease-fire as a potential participant in the force.
02:14And while it's not clear what role Turkey will play in the force, Israel has made clear it
02:19is against Turkish troops in Gaza.
02:21Israel will ultimately be required to consent to any foreign troops stationed in Gaza, according
02:26to U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance.
02:29Nearly a year ago, the International Criminal Court, ICC, issued a warrant for Israeli leader
02:36Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing him of war crimes.
02:39The Turkish warrants for Netanyahu and other officials follow.
02:43The ICC warrant had been criticized by the Prime Minister's office as absurd and anti-Semitic.
