00:00I just got home my back door is kicked in and my girl ain't answering the phone okay what's your
00:18name my name is Christopher Jackson my son's inside with her and everything I'm about to go
00:22in and see what is going on okay why don't you just wait for us if I'll get him over there
00:27all right thank you
00:28every suspect accused of a crime has the right to remain silent many agree to be interrogated
00:39anyway but they can stop the interview at any moment making it a race against time
00:45justice hangs in the balance
00:57when officers arrived on scene they saw Christopher Jackson standing in the driveway he reported that
01:09he had just arrived home from working the overnight shift and found that his back door was kicked open
01:15he was upset very anxious Chris stated that his fiance Angela was inside the house
01:24and also their young son he believed is still in the house you could just see the the look on Chris's face
01:30that he knew something was wrong and he was fearing the worst officers found the back door of the house
01:37appeared to be kicked in there was a noticeable boot print on the white door the door frame itself was
01:45fractured broken splintered
01:48there were four of us that went inside we don't know what's going on in there we don't know if someone's
02:00being held hostage we don't know if someone's waiting around the corner so we just went room by room
02:04the officers made their way into a living room area they did not notice anything that would be
02:11considered out of the ordinary it was fairly clean and picked up they went down the hallway where they
02:19found two bedrooms one was locked they searched the other room across the hall and that's where they
02:25found the young child inside of his crib he appeared to have been sleeping wasn't harmed he was seemed in
02:31good condition one of the officers picked up the child took him outside and brought him to his father
02:36he was relieved to see that his child was unharmed but that very quickly changed to concern about why
02:45isn't Angela out after that was completed is when we prepared to enter through the the locked door I
02:53stood next to the door while another officer kicked the door open they could see a large bed and as you
03:03walked in you could immediately see that there was blood on the bed and there appeared to be somewhat of a
03:11scuffle as I turned the corner between the bed and the wall I saw a younger white female laying on the
03:21floor she was laying on her back appeared to be wearing sleeping clothes covered in blood it became
03:30apparent that she had suffered multiple stab wounds they were able to determine that the victim was a
03:38Angela wild and that she was in fact deceased Angela grew up in Alabama she was very southern always nice always
03:50polite I don't think there was one time where she didn't call me miss crystal she ended up in Minot
03:56North Dakota and that's where I met her in nursing school she had a full scholarship for nursing it was like
04:04fulfilling a dream she liked interior decorating I said the only thing I have hanging on my walls is
04:12a clock and she said I could totally come over and hope you figure out where to hang all your pictures
04:18she always talked about how Chris is so sweet and he took the brunt of a lot of the household things
04:24because she was so busy with nursing school she always said nice wonderful things about him and her
04:30children she did talk about her kids a lot and how much she loved him she had so much more than just a
04:39bright future ahead of her she had her children's lives to watch them grow up and that was all taken away from her
05:00so when they looked at Angela's body they could see blood coagulating behind her head on the floor
05:12and on the back of her neck which told us that she had been dead at least some hours
05:18it appeared there might have been some possible DNA underneath her fingernails it appeared that she
05:24may have scratched or at least fought briefly with her attacker so they collected swabs with the amount
05:32of times that she was stabbed we definitely knew that whoever attacked Angela had anger and definitely
05:38wanted her dead
05:47it did raise a red flag to me that Christopher Jackson did not go into the home when he initially arrived home that morning
05:55we all feel the first thing we would do would be rush in and check on our loved ones
06:01so at this point we told him we wanted to speak to him and asked him to voluntarily come down to the police department
06:08so at this point
06:12Um, where do you work at?
06:36Walmart.
06:37Walmart?
06:38Okay.
06:39What do you do at Walmart?
06:40Stock.
06:41Okay.
06:42What are the hours going to...
06:44The hours are like 10 to 7.
06:47Okay.
06:48So you're going to work at 10.
06:49Does she give you a ride to work then?
06:51Yeah.
06:52Okay.
06:53So walk me through what happened this morning.
06:56I always call her on break.
06:59Okay.
07:00Just to see how she's doing.
07:01Just to talk to her.
07:03Because over the nights...
07:05What time is break?
07:06Break is 5.
07:08Did you call her at 5?
07:10Okay.
07:11And how did that call her?
07:13It didn't.
07:16I figured, okay, she's just tired.
07:18But she always picks up whenever I call her.
07:21What time does she usually pick it up from work?
07:24She's usually there about 7.
07:27And she's not out there this morning.
07:29And I keep calling her.
07:31And she's not picking up the phone.
07:37So I call the taxi.
07:38I get to the house.
07:39So I walk around back.
07:40And the door is open.
07:42I get to the house.
07:43So I walk around back.
07:45And the door is open.
07:56And something in my stomach just felt wrong.
07:59So I call the cops.
08:00And the house comes.
08:01And the guys go in.
08:02And they come back out.
08:03And there's still no Angela.
08:04Looking at Chris, the way he's sitting right there, he's pretty open.
08:06It's not like he's trying to hide anything.
08:07You know, he's not crossed legs, not crossed arms.
08:09He seemed genuinely hurt in that and heartbroken at that point.
08:19Was Angela working at him?
08:20No, she just got him nursing.
08:21You guys argue?
08:22Oh yeah.
08:23Of course, we're in a relationship.
08:24So, when you're home, you guys leave the door with someone locked.
08:27Except for the front door and the back door.
08:28Always leave a lock.
08:30How is your relationship now with Angela?
08:31Oh, my God.
08:32And the way he's sitting right there, he's pretty open.
08:34And the way he's sitting right there, he's pretty open.
08:35It's not like he's trying to hide anything.
08:36You know, he's not crossed legs, not crossed arms.
08:38He seemed genuinely hurt in that and heartbroken at that point.
08:41Was Angela working at the time?
08:44No, she just got him nursing home.
08:46You guys argue?
08:47Oh, yeah.
08:48Of course, we're in a relationship.
08:49How is your relationship now with Angela?
08:52Oh, it was very stable.
08:56Okay.
08:59We were in the buildings.
09:03Like earlier this week.
09:05Because she was excited.
09:07Because she got a pregnancy test.
09:14So Angela was pregnant?
09:16She was trying to keep it a secret from me for Christmas.
09:23She kind of glowed a little bit, so...
09:26I could tell by the way he talked about Angela that he really did love her.
09:31His reactions, his emotions, everything seemed very appropriate.
09:36I had no evidence that led us to believe that there was anything toxic in his relationship with Angela.
09:45My initial gut feeling at that point was that he probably was not the one who murdered Angela.
09:51What's your guys' typical evening like before you go to work?
09:56We're shut.
09:57Nothing seems out of place.
09:58You walk by the front window in between the bar.
10:00Just by the enemies.
10:02There's people that might not like her, but I don't think anybody would be to that point.
10:06I know that you said that the dispatcher told you not to go in the house, that officers were on their way.
10:13Did you go into the house?
10:15Something in my stomach say not to.
10:18Okay.
10:19So last time you were in the house was when you left for work last night?
10:22Yes ma'am.
10:23Who would harm Angela if that's the case?
10:28Richie.
10:30Chris told us that Richie Wilder was Angela Wilder's ex-husband.
10:36They also shared a biological child together as well as Angela's firstborn child was adopted by Richie while they were married.
10:46And they shared custody of the children.
10:48What's her relationship like with Richie?
10:56If you can name it, they've probably been through it.
11:00He doesn't like her, she doesn't like him.
11:04He was in the military and he got kicked out because he was a f***er and then we got divorced over.
11:11Is he still living in my house?
11:13No he doesn't.
11:14I always had to take the kids up to Marketplace Foods Sunday at 5 and not go in there so Angela didn't have to.
11:22Was Sunday the custody exchange then?
11:26Is that every week?
11:27Every week.
11:29Okay.
11:31Has there been anything recent between the two of them?
11:34Any verbal, physical contact?
11:37Dirty looks, scowls, bulls**t back and forth.
11:41Richie Wilder and Angela Wilder had a very volatile relationship.
11:46There was abuse that was documented.
11:51He had a motive for this crime with the custody of the children.
11:56At that point, it really put Richie on our radar as a person that we need to talk to.
12:01We need to talk to her.
12:02That morning I was driving to school and drove by her house and her house was surrounded in yellow tape.
12:23I called, got no answer, texted right away and said are you okay?
12:31Got no answer.
12:35The next day I learned that she was gone.
12:39That Angela was gone.
12:42It was an extreme shock.
12:43She was one of the most compassionate, caring people you'll ever meet.
12:49It was heartbreaking.
13:08When's last time you saw Richie?
13:10Well, that's Sunday.
13:14The custody exchange then?
13:18Yeah.
13:19Okay.
13:21We get there and Cindy's sitting over there.
13:23Who's Cindy?
13:25Cindy's Richie's wife.
13:27Cindy sits there and scowls at us the entire time.
13:30I walk the kids in, tell them I love them and everything.
13:33Each time we get the kids back, it's always something about Richie said this.
13:40He did that.
13:41It's always putting us down and just going to trash.
13:45Okay.
13:47Okay.
13:49I'm going to step out for just a second.
13:50Do you need anything to help being done with your water?
13:52Do you want some more?
13:54Okay.
13:55I'm going to get you some more water.
13:57Once we were done talking to him, he also agreed to take a polygraph and he passed that.
14:02We contacted his employer.
14:03We were able to get the video of all the cameras in the business.
14:14And we were able to confirm that Chris never left his job that night.
14:20Mr. Jackson's alibi was solid.
14:23At that point, I was very confident that Christopher Jackson was innocent.
14:28So we definitely wanted to get Richie Wilder into the police department so we could see what his story is and see where he was at and see what he had to say about all of this.
14:36This is right here is okay.
14:37Yeah, you're good.
14:38Give me one second.
14:39Oh, yes, sir.
14:40Hello, hi.
14:41Are you Richie?
14:42Yes, ma'am.
14:43Hi Richie.
14:44My name is Detective Christa Matthias.
14:45Sergeant-Detective for the vehicle.
14:46Do you have him?
14:47I think you're over there.
14:53Just right here.
14:54You're okay?
14:55Yeah, you're good.
14:56Give me one second.
14:57Oh, yes, sir.
15:02Yep.
15:03Hello.
15:04Hi.
15:05Are you Richie?
15:06Yes, ma'am.
15:07Hi, Richie.
15:08My name's Detective Krista McNeis, Sergeant Detective Dave Goodman.
15:12I'm not sure what patrol told you or the officers told you when they came up to the
15:15house to get down.
15:16I needed to come down and answer a question.
15:18Did they tell you what about?
15:20Well, I had some, got some messages that they texted and then I saw on Facebook that something
15:25happened.
15:26I don't know.
15:27I know my wife, when she drove my career school today, she saw some car cars out there.
15:32When we said out there, you're talking about?
15:34My ex-wife's house.
15:35Angela's house.
15:36Angela's house.
15:37Yeah, sorry.
15:38Okay.
15:39What happened to your face?
15:40Did I get a scratch on your face?
15:41Yeah, that's from my kidney.
15:43One of the first things everybody noticed was he had a small scratch under one of his
15:48eyes, which appeared to be pretty fresh, which kind of hyped up everybody's senses right
15:52away.
15:53Somebody who was stabbed in a violent encounter, more than likely struggled, wouldn't be unrealistic
15:57to think that, you know, they might have scratched their assailant.
16:01Okay.
16:02And how did that happen?
16:03We play wrestle slash play fight.
16:05Sometimes he'd claw me up.
16:06He had a long fingernail sometimes.
16:08When did that happen?
16:09It happened yesterday.
16:11Okay.
16:12Tell me about the scenario of what you guys were doing when that happened.
16:15Oh, just in the living room.
16:16I usually get on my knees and we kind of play around.
16:19The thing I don't want to hear is...
16:20Usually.
16:21Oh.
16:22I mean, tell me exactly what happened.
16:23Oh.
16:24I could see his brain working when I asked him about the scratch.
16:29You could tell that he's uncomfortable explaining this and he keeps falling back on a memory,
16:35I believe, of him wrestling with his son.
16:38And that was a huge red flag for us.
16:40We're out of my house.
16:41Okay.
16:42Um, did you work last night?
16:45From Sentinel and...
16:46Yes, sir.
16:47And you were at Trinity that whole time?
16:49Yes, sir.
16:50We can't leave the hospital without permission.
16:52Where'd you go after you left work?
16:54Uh, straight home.
16:55Can anybody tell us what time you got home?
16:57Mm-hmm.
16:58Cindy.
16:59Cindy can?
17:00Okay.
17:01Did you ever leave to go anywhere in the middle of the night?
17:03No way.
17:04Have you ever been inside her house?
17:06No, sir.
17:07Whoever made statements to Angela about taking the kids away from her?
17:10What did that cost between the two of you then?
17:15You consider yourself a smart man, Richie?
17:18Hang on what it is.
17:20You can certainly put two and two together, right?
17:22Yes.
17:23So what is the two and two that you've put together in this situation?
17:25Well, somebody passed away.
17:27I know that.
17:28I just don't know who.
17:30But we're doing an investigation here, and obviously this is serious.
17:35We have you down here.
17:36Yes.
17:37And I'll tell you Angela's dead.
17:39Pardon me.
17:40But what do you know about that?
17:42Know about what?
17:43About Angela being dead.
17:44Nothing.
17:45Just what you said.
17:46I'll tell you what.
17:47What?
17:48There's a lot of fingers pointing right at you.
17:49Well, yeah.
17:50Because I'm her ex-husband, right?
17:51Well, you're her ex-husband.
17:52Yeah.
17:53And you're her ex-husband.
17:54Yeah.
17:55And you're her ex-husband.
17:56And you guys have a volatile relationship.
17:57Yeah.
17:58Did you hurt her?
17:59No.
18:00Did you kill her?
18:01No.
18:02No.
18:03No.
18:04No.
18:05No.
18:06No.
18:07No.
18:08No.
18:09No.
18:10No.
18:11No.
18:12No.
18:13No.
18:14No.
18:15No.
18:16No.
18:17No.
18:18No.
18:19No.
18:20No.
18:21No.
18:22No.
18:23No.
18:24No.
18:25No.
18:26No.
18:27No.
18:28No.
18:29No.
18:30No.
18:31I don't know anything about it.
18:32Your DNA's not going to show up anywhere on her?
18:33Going to show up under her fingernails?
18:37Your DNA's not going to show up in her house?
18:39No.
18:40I've never been to her house.
18:42And if I did, I would tell you.
18:44And if anybody ever accused me of something I didn't do, I'd be angry.
18:49be angry, but he was very calm and non-caring, just sits there quiet. It just didn't make much
18:58sense. You know, I try and think of people that would benefit from this. And again, it brings me
19:10back to you, but it also brings me to Cindy. I mean, it could be something maybe that Cindy's
19:15just tired of dealing with all this pain-in-the-ass custody. Do you think she killed Angela?
19:26Not Cindy. How confident are you on that? 100%. Would you take a polygraph exam? I mean, yeah,
19:34if I need to. I got in a hive. I want to get to the bottom of it because I want to clear my name.
19:41Okay. Let's start with the polygraph. You'll be here at 8 o'clock tonight? Yeah. Okay. I'm going to grab
19:52a camera and just take some pictures of your scratch on your face. And we'd like to look
19:59through your phone and your vehicle and your wife's vehicle. Put your hands straight out.
20:11Can you lift your shirt up for me? Sure. Are you? T-shirt? T-shirt? No, no, no.
20:17I'm going to do it. Now this is Mr. P. And it's all over the place.
20:30Richie was high on our person of interest list at that point.
20:33It was obvious that we had rattled his cage and that he was uncomfortable. I wanted him
20:41to understand that we're not going to go away. I wanted him to go home with that thought
20:46in his mind that he's in trouble.
20:48She confirmed that, you know, Richie came right home from work. She claimed that she woke up in the
21:13middle of the night. He was still in bed beside her. He was there all night. We suspected that she
21:19might've been covering for Richie, but she didn't seem all that concerned. Angelo was dead and that
21:25she'd been murdered. It was just strange.
21:35When the crime scene team processed the Honda Pilot, one of the crime scene officers located a small
21:43dot on the passenger door. It was dark brown in color and smaller than a pencil eraser.
21:52It came back as human blood. So we just have the blood in for DNA testing.
21:58At that point, it becomes a waiting game.
22:13It just kind of all added up to just more and more suspicious. Shouldn't take that much effort to
22:22say, yeah, I'll do this if you're not involved. We're pretty well in agreement that this is our
22:27prime suspect. Every little piece we had was pointing right towards Richie Wilder.
22:32Richie Wilder worked in a local hospital. When they found out where other
23:02people were told so quickly that Richie was very popular with some of the female co-workers.
23:07Richie was having affairs with different women throughout the hospital.
23:12He really wasn't the greatest guy when it came to how he would treat women.
23:16But that doesn't help us build our case against him as a murderer.
23:21We just have to keep following up on everything we can think of.
23:24About a month after the murder, we did receive a call from the North Dakota State Crime Lab.
23:44They told us that the swab taken from the Honda Pilot was Angela Wilder's luck.
24:01Finding Angela Wilder's blood in Cynthia Wilder's Honda Pilot was a huge break for us.
24:16It was a very emotional moment.
24:18Angela's DNA should not have been in that vehicle.
24:21Ultimately, we got the DNA back from the fingernail scrapings of Angela that showed Richie's DNA underneath there.
24:30That was the breaking moment in this case.
24:33Took him to the police department and Richie lawyered up and he wasn't going to talk to us anymore.
24:54At this point, we highly suspected that she had information about the homicide.
25:15She lied during the first interview when she said that he didn't leave anywhere during the night.
25:20We knew that she was going to stick to her story.
25:24So we had to say something shocking that would change the course of that.
25:29We have Richie down here.
25:32Do you know why we have Richie down here?
25:36We've arrested Richie for the murder of Angela Wilder.
25:41Can you tell me?
25:46We want you to be honest with us this time.
25:48I have nothing to say.
25:51Cindy, we have a lot that we want to share with you, too.
25:54Stuff that I would think that you would want to know.
25:58I don't mean any disrespect by saying this, Cindy.
26:02I'm a little bit confused about your relationship with Richie.
26:06I know he's your husband, but I'll tell you what.
26:09You don't fit the criteria of the other women that he's sleeping with.
26:14My husband's not a cheater.
26:15Do not accuse him of that.
26:17Oh, we don't have to accuse him.
26:18We have proof.
26:21This is Jennifer.
26:22And Jennifer told us about the sexual relationship she's had with Richie since the beginning of the year.
26:30Well, then that's awesome.
26:31Congratulations.
26:32We're not trying to offend you or piss you off with that information.
26:37Because I know it's not true.
26:38We can play the recordings.
26:42Know who this is?
26:43No.
26:44What's another one?
26:47He's got relationships with all three of these women.
26:49Well, I want to see proof of that.
26:51Do you have it on video?
26:52We have Joanne on video saying it.
26:54I don't want to see a video of them saying .
26:57I want to see a video of them having sex with my husband.
27:00That's what I want.
27:01I don't believe you until I see that.
27:04I trust my husband 100%.
27:06She's Steven in his phone.
27:08Well, he is busy.
27:09He's very busy.
27:10I don't give you a ****.
27:13I feel it for you.
27:15And it's absolute **** that he had this full other life.
27:20I like that feeling right now, Cindy, is that this isn't fair to you.
27:26Richie did something horrible.
27:31And you know it.
27:33But it's time to be honest with us and tell us the truth.
27:37Why did he do it?
27:42Because he hates her?
27:46Because of money?
27:49Because of the children?
27:51Why?
27:51I don't know anything else to say.
27:57She was definitely playing the loyal wife, but I thought there was more to it.
28:01And I felt like she had information on how and when and what happened to
28:06clothing that might have had blood on it.
28:09And I wanted her to break.
28:11Did you know that Angela was pregnant?
28:15She was.
28:16She was pregnant when Richie killed her.
28:20It's the truth.
28:21That's the evidence that we've gathered.
28:22What evidence?
28:23It's scientific evidence.
28:25We have DNA evidence that we took from the Honda.
28:27Of course there would be Rich's DNA in my Honda.
28:31Of course DNA shouldn't be in the Honda.
28:33Who's blood should not be in the Honda?
28:40Nobody's blood has ever been in the Honda.
28:42Who's blood do you think is in the Honda?
28:44I don't know.
28:45I'll tell you, Angela's blood.
28:47There's blood on the passenger door of that vehicle that belongs to Angela.
28:52How did that get there?
28:53Well, I don't know why blood would be on our door if she supposedly died in her house.
29:01Because who killed her was in your car.
29:05That's all.
29:05We want you to tell us what you know.
29:21That's why we're sharing these things.
29:24Because we know you know more.
29:27Were you with him when he did this?
29:29What was I do?
29:31Did he stay at the house at all that night?
29:33Yes, he came home after work.
29:36Okay, what time did he leave the house?
29:38He didn't leave the house that night.
29:39Yes, he did.
29:40He didn't leave the house that night.
29:41No, he didn't.
29:42I was up several times with the kids and he was out cold.
29:47That's not true.
29:47That's not true.
29:51My goal here is just for you to be honest with us and tell us what you know.
29:56Are you looking, are you going to tell us Cindy?
30:02I don't have anything to tell us.
30:04If you don't want to talk now, I beg of you to please reconsider and call us.
30:15We highly suspected that Cynthia was involved in more ways than one.
30:21But we didn't have evidence against her at that point.
30:27I never got a good feeling about Cynthia.
30:29But there's nothing we can charge her with at that time.
30:32And she was free to leave.
30:43Richie wanted to give this information because he was looking for some sort of deal.
30:59So that's when we set up the interview to take place in the sheriff's office in their conference room.
31:08All right, the video recorders, record.
31:13Start whenever you're ready.
31:20Well, we understand that, uh, uh, that you have some information that you want to share with us.
31:26Um, it's my understanding that you want to share your involvement in this crime.
31:32So, um, so Chris said he kind of came up with an idea to, uh, like, where I can get full custody of my kids and he can get full custody of his.
31:45But I guess they were, you know, having some issues.
31:47And I was like, okay, what do you, like, what do you want?
31:50And he said he thought that Angela was cheating on him.
31:53And he said when he goes to work that he thought somebody was coming over.
31:56He's like, and we'll catch him in bed and then you can testify for me in court against her that she's cheating on me.
32:02And then we both get full custody.
32:04So, I was like, yeah, sure, you know, you're going to help me, I'm going to help you.
32:08That sounds good to me.
32:10But he called me that night.
32:12He said, why don't you come down and get me?
32:14And then, you know, we'll head up and catch him in the act.
32:17So, I got in the car, um, drove to Walmart, picked him up, drove back to his house.
32:23We, uh, you know, got out of the car, went, he unlocked the door, we went in.
32:28Tell me exactly what you saw when you went in.
32:30Oh, okay.
32:30Um, we went up some stairs and then we went through a room.
32:34That was, like, their bedroom.
32:36And, uh, it looked like there was two people in the bed, you know?
32:40And, um, so as he pulled back the cover, the first thing I noticed there wasn't a person.
32:44That was a body pillow.
32:45But he grabbed her and he just started, like, you know, like, making a motion.
32:52And, um, sorry, um, he just got a stabbing her.
32:56I ran over there.
32:58She, like, leaned up and, like, scratched the mess out of my face.
33:03She was just like, I love you.
33:05And then he just started stabbing her more.
33:07And I was like, what the are you doing?
33:09It was just the most far-fetched fantasy, I think.
33:14I mean, there's no other way to put it.
33:16At this point, he'd had several months of sitting in the jail to try to concoct a story.
33:21And when I heard it, I'm like, this is the best he could do is Chris did it.
33:25What did he say?
33:26He just said, he's like, I'm serious.
33:28He's like, if you tell anybody, he's like, I'm going to kill your wife.
33:30I'm going to kill your little one.
33:31Okay.
33:32He never said their name.
33:33He just kept saying your wife and your little one.
33:35I know from your admission that you were there, but it doesn't fit.
33:44Because I know that Chris did not leave Walmart during the hours that you say that he did.
33:51Well, he did, though.
33:53I know he didn't because I watched him on video.
33:56I watched him at work.
34:00I didn't kill anybody.
34:01I think you killed Angela.
34:03Yeah, I told you Chris did.
34:05You can stop anytime you want.
34:13I'll stop.
34:13Okay.
34:17I appreciate you talking to us.
34:20We were preparing with the idea that Richie Wilder was going to lie to us.
34:25Our plan was to let him tell his story and just let those lies bury him.
34:30There was so much that he locked himself into describing the inside of the house,
34:35describing how Angela's body was.
34:37We won this little battle in this entire war of a case.
34:43This afternoon, the jury convicted Richie Wilder of murdering his ex-wife Angela in her northwest Minot home last November.
35:06Richie's current wife, Cynthia, remained resolute in her husband's innocence.
35:10I stand by him.
35:13We can't ask for a better sentence than life without parole.
35:23So we were happy with that.
35:25It's almost like we know she did something, but we just can't prove it.
35:35Cynthia went about her life at that point.
35:41So that's the frustrating part because you know that there's more.
35:47The Minot Police Department received a call in March of 2017 from a Matt Walters.
36:00He'd said that he has possible information about the murder of Angela Wilder.
36:19We called him just to see if this was really true.
36:23Good afternoon. Is this Matt?
36:25It is.
36:26Matt, Detective Matthias calling from the Minot Police Department.
36:30Some information was passed along to me.
36:32I wanted to follow up with you.
36:33So I'm kind of torn for a while on whether I can call you guys.
36:38Do you know Cindy?
36:40Cindy, in relation to what?
36:44So her husband is the guy that, he's the one that stabbed that woman a couple years back
36:53and he's in jail right now for it.
36:54They just tried him.
36:55Are you talking about Richie Wilder?
36:57Yes, Richie Wilder.
36:59Over the last three to four months, she just keeps saying stuff that is very unnerving,
37:07like hinting that she had something to do with it.
37:14She heavily insinuated through Facebook messages that she
37:30was involved in the murder that her husband committed.
37:34Would you be able to send me all those messages?
37:37Yeah, I can screenshot them and send them to you.
37:44Immediately after that, she says it wasn't supposed to be a knife
37:53and you're the only person I have said anything to.
37:57That one really raised the hair on the back of my neck.
38:01Mr. Walters had a good conscience and said that this just wasn't sitting well with him
38:06and he wanted to sign up as a confidential informant.
38:09We're very excited. We knew that this was our chance to hold her responsible for the role that she played.
38:15We basically wanted to get it in her words instead of in typed messages that
38:39she could have argued somebody else was typing. He went to Cindy's house.
38:46They sat outside in a parked car for a good couple of hours and they talked and a lot of
38:52it was just small talk. We knew that Mr. Walters was trying to get her just comfortable talking to him again.
38:57I had a really good time. I mean, it's good. We're talking, connecting.
39:04It's nice to get out of the house and laugh and then haven't laughed in a long time.
39:09I've just become this negative. Cynical?
39:15Yeah, that hateful. Like, I don't know. I'm just mad all the time and I don't know why.
39:21About what? I don't know. That's the problem. Are you mad at your husband?
39:25No. Like, I'm proud of him. I'm just pissed that he got caught and then he got sloppy and
39:33impatient and I thought we were, like, in the clear. And it all kind of started as, like, a joke.
39:41Like, I asked him, like, have you ever killed anybody? Just, like...
39:44But she needs to die. Like...
39:46Because we, like, had this thing, like, planned for, like, two years and we're just waiting on...
39:52Seriously?
39:53Yeah. Seriously.
39:56Like, I helped him. Like, I would leave, like, when he worked nights, I would leave the house at,
40:02like, midnight and, like, sit outside her house in my vehicle seeing who came into the house.
40:07Yeah. We f***ing had this planned out. And he f***ed it up.
40:14I mean, how did it, like...
40:16Because he didn't clean the car good enough. One f***ing spot of blood in my car.
40:21He just has, like, so much anger towards her. That's why he couldn't just do one jab to the jugular and get out.
40:28No, he f***ing, like, went psycho on her.
40:32I don't know. A knife is a stupid f***ing way to kill somebody.
40:35Yeah.
40:38So once you realized it was real, then what? Like...
40:41Then I just had to stick with he was home with me all night.
40:47To be honest, I thought you were full of s*** when you told me before that
40:50he was home with you all night.
40:51Yeah. I could go to jail for a very long time because I helped him.
40:56I think Cynthia Wilder was proud of her involvement in this.
41:01I never felt that Cindy had any remorse at all for what happened to Angela.
41:05So when we heard her make those damning statements, we reached back and high-five
41:12because we knew that we had her at that point.
41:15There's been another arrest in connection with the 2015 Minot murder.
41:24The wife of convicted murderer Richie Wilder was arrested today and charged with conspiracy
41:30in the murder of Wilder's ex-wife.
41:32It was ultimate justice. It's kind of karma coming back and biting her.
41:38She was 100% involved in this murder and she unfortunately spilled it all to the wrong person.
41:53The Minot woman who pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder will spend the rest of her life in jail.
42:07Cynthia Wilder was sentenced today in a hearing where the judge went well beyond
42:11the recommendations of both the defense and prosecution.
42:14You were the one person who could have intervened.
42:17You were the one person who could have spared Angela Wilder's life.
42:22You chose not to do so.
42:24The life in prison sentence with no parole is the exact same sentence that her husband
42:28Richie Wilder is now serving for killing Angela Wilder.
42:34It was an awesome feeling knowing that we were going to get further justice for Angela Wilder
42:41and put behind bars everybody who's responsible for her not being here today.
42:46I think Angela should be remembered as the sweet, kind person that she was.
42:53Always willing to help others, put others before herself.
42:57She just had so much compassion and so much caring.
43:07and she also having to do it.
43:10No blogger.
