00:10I'm sure our next guest, Milton Williams, enjoys that very much.
00:13He joins us every other Patriots Friday.
00:15Brought to you by Shaw's and Star Market.
00:17You can look for the new lower prices, everyday tags throughout the store.
00:21And save on the items that you buy most.
00:24Milton Williams, how are we doing this week?
00:26Doing good, man.
00:27How y'all doing?
00:28Very good.
00:29Very good.
00:30I don't know if you heard any of those pirate jokes.
00:31Those were pretty strong.
00:34I missed them.
00:35I ain't going to lie.
00:36Okay, we'll pass them along off the air.
00:38You can tell them to your teammates all week.
00:40We're excited for this game.
00:41This is a real showdown.
00:43A couple of teams at the top of their conferences.
00:46What is Baker Mayfield and the Bucs offense?
00:48What sort of challenges does it present for you guys?
00:51So, explosive offense with a quarterback that can make all the plays.
00:57He's just a gamer.
00:59So, we've been talking about him all week, knowing that he's third in the league and, like, breaking sacks behind, like, Lamar and Josh Allen.
01:09So, just, you know, of course, focusing on D-line.
01:11You know, getting back there, getting them on the ground where we got an opportunity.
01:14But, still, just having the opportunity to just affect them, play in, play out.
01:19And, of course, stopping the run.
01:21And, you know, everything else is going to take care of itself.
01:24How much does, like, the weather impact you at all?
01:26Or, like, you know, your teammates going from games in, like, 40, 50-degree games and now this weekend probably going to be in the 80s?
01:33How much of a difference does that make?
01:35Oh, I don't think it's going to make too much of a difference.
01:40Them boys are probably ready to get us some warm weather.
01:43We've been practicing out here in the cold, wind blowing.
01:48So, no, it'll be good to get some sun down there in Florida.
01:51I'm curious your thoughts on the trade deadline.
01:53I saw some comments you had to the Boston Herald this week.
01:55You said we're 7-2 with the guys that we got.
01:58But you think the approach of the trade deadline was about the future?
02:01Why do you feel that way?
02:02I mean, like I said, I'm showing up to do a job.
02:08You know, I can't really, you know, tell you the direction that the front office want to go in or what they're looking for or how they're trying to build.
02:18You know, I'm just showing up and, you know, doing what they ask me to do and, you know, figuring out any way I can help the team.
02:26And, you know, on Sundays, just trying to figure out ways I can affect the game and help the team win.
02:32You know, I know it happened over a week ago.
02:33We haven't had a chance to talk to you since.
02:35But the team trades away.
02:37Keon White, Kyle Duggar, a couple of guys that you've been playing defense with throughout camp and throughout the first eight, nine games of the season.
02:43What was your reaction when you heard those guys were traded away?
02:46Yeah, no, just some good guys, man.
02:48They come in and work.
02:51You know, that's just how this league goes sometimes.
02:53You know, you have a locker mate one time, next day you come in and it's somebody else.
03:00And it's just like, it's just a revolving door.
03:03So, man, just making sure that you stand on top of what you need to stay on top of and, you know, take care of business.
03:09But wish those guys well.
03:12Both great dudes, great players.
03:15And I think they're going to be successful with their new teams.
03:18Milton Williams, Patriots defensive lineman, joins us on Patriots Fridays here on Jones and Keith on WEEI.
03:25We're not only the nickname show there, Mr. Milkman, we're also a uniform show.
03:29We saw the Broncos uniforms last night.
03:32Oh, yeah.
03:32Which, for my money, one of my favorite in the history of sports, not just the NFL.
03:37Now, you said before you weren't the biggest football fan as a kid.
03:39But I'm curious if you have a favorite uniform, helmet, that stands out to you.
03:46Oh, it's been a couple.
03:48But I remember, this was before I got in the NFL.
03:52Remember when they used to do the color rush?
03:54Yes, yes.
03:54Oh, you were a color rush guy.
03:56The color rush, like all the color rushes, you could pick one.
03:59I liked all the color rushes for the teams that they had.
04:03So, when I get on Madden, when they had the color rush on there, whatever team I got, that's what we was wearing.
04:09Are you guys wearing the new ones this weekend?
04:13No, no, it's blue on blue this weekend.
04:14Oh, it's blue on blue this weekend.
04:15I believe, right?
04:16Yeah, we weren't all blue in Sanford.
04:19I think it's, what is it called?
04:21Is it called the Storm?
04:22Yeah, the Stormfront or whatever?
04:24I think it was next week.
04:25Oh, that's next week.
04:25What do you think of those ones?
04:27Nah, when I first saw it, I was like, eh.
04:31The more and more I looked at it, I was like, okay.
04:33I'm kind of feeling the little color, because it's not something that you see all the time.
04:38So, it's a little different.
04:40Yeah.
04:40But, not everybody going to put their little spin on how they want to look on game day.
04:45But, I know they're going to be fresh.
04:47I like them.
04:47I think they look good.
04:48Jones and I argue over the Kelly Greens from Philly, which I'm sure you wore a few times.
04:53I love those ones.
04:54I feel like the fans there probably like those too when you guys bring those, or you used to bring those guys back.
04:59Yeah, my favorite throwbacks got to be Kelly Green.
05:06I like the Patriots throwbacks, the red that we wore.
05:09That's nice.
05:10And the Buccaneers, the creamsicles.
05:14Yes.
05:15That's good.
05:16Those are nice.
05:18I'll tell you what.
05:19We'll forward this along to you, Milton.
05:20But, we did a whole uniform bracket for March Madness.
05:22We'll forward it along if you want to see our seed.
05:24You spent a lot of time on it.
05:25Pat Patriot and the Bucs creamsicle uniforms were both very, very high seeds.
05:29Personally, I think the Kelly Green ones were a little over-seeded for my taste.
05:32No, you said when you play Madden, you'll go with the Color Rush uniforms.
05:35Who do you like to play with in Madden?
05:39Okay, that's the thing, too.
05:40So, I really get whatever team I'm on.
05:44Nice.
05:45So, when I was in Philly, I always played with the Eagles.
05:48And now I'm in New England.
05:49So, when I get on, I'll be having the Patriots.
05:52So, I try to get my guys.
05:54If I make a play with them or something, I come in the next morning and tell them, like,
05:58Hey, man.
05:59My man, yesterday, man.
06:00I got to pick six for me, man.
06:02I appreciate that.
06:04Just a little inside joke, man.
06:06I'm going to be like, man, what you talking about?
06:08Have you ever been playing against somebody somewhere else?
06:13And, obviously, I'm going to assume they have no idea who you are.
06:16Because the other night, it happened in the NBA.
06:18I was just going to ask about this.
06:19Okay, great question.
06:20So, Donovan Mitchell was playing 2K the other night.
06:22And some guy knew it was him, but he was talking trash to him.
06:24He was like, you're not even that good anymore.
06:26He's like, I haven't seen a highlight from you.
06:28And then Mitchell went out and scored 46 points.
06:30And in his post-game press conference, referenced the fact that he said that.
06:34So, has that ever happened?
06:34Do you play against, like, random kids and you're like, no, no, no, I'm playing as myself.
06:38This is me right now?
06:40Oh, yeah, definitely.
06:41I mean, if they see my name or, like, 2K on the mic player, like, I got the little football logo
06:47and my real name on there.
06:49So, if I get in the lobby with somebody, they're going to be talking noise.
06:52Like, hey, man, what team you play for?
06:54Oh, y'all suck.
06:56They look you up on Google.
07:00What's his stats for this year?
07:01What did he do?
07:02I just be sitting back laughing.
07:04That is funny.
07:05Is that, I mean, that's an example of something wild that somebody says to you?
07:09Like, what's, like, a crazy thing somebody says?
07:11I mean, you probably can't say it on the air.
07:12Well, that's a good point.
07:13Is it that bad?
07:14Oh, yeah.
07:15Oh, these, oh, it's cutthroat.
07:16I'm not playing much of these games.
07:18Yeah, no, it's intense.
07:19Okay.
07:19It's just, man, I was probably, man, you ain't that good.
07:22Man, somebody look a bit stats.
07:24Oh, he only did this this year.
07:25It's like, hold on, dawg.
07:26What did he do?
07:27You know what I'm saying?
07:27Yeah, right.
07:28Kid hasn't left his house in years.
07:30He's like, yeah, what have you done?
07:31Man, he's pretty good.
07:32I like what you got going on.
07:35Let me end on this quickly.
07:37Yeah, I have a quick thing.
07:37So we were, long story short, there's a famous sports writer who's just been answering all
07:43kinds of questions on Twitter.
07:44We find it kind of humorous.
07:45But one of the things that he answered.
07:46All kinds.
07:47All kinds of things.
07:48Yeah.
07:48But he has a quick never have I ever.
07:50So I'm just going to rip through all these and say, yes, I've done it or no, I have not
07:54done it.
07:54Okay.
07:56All right.
07:56All right.
07:57Visited another country.
08:00Yes.
08:00Sung karaoke.
08:03No.
08:04Broken a bone.
08:07No.
08:08Been to Disneyland.
08:11No.
08:12Got a tattoo.
08:14No.
08:15Got a piercing.
08:18Yes.
08:19Where?
08:21Years.
08:24That's a logical follow up.
08:25I mean, it was a logical.
08:26I wasn't sure.
08:27I wasn't sure.
08:28It's 21 questions for you.
08:29Sure.
08:30Dyed my hair.
08:33Never.
08:33Been on a train.
08:38I want to say no.
08:40No on a train.
08:40If it was the T, you'd remember.
08:41Been on TV.
08:42Yeah.
08:43I would say famously, you probably had, I don't know, a billion people watch you last
08:46year on TV.
08:48Had stitches.
08:49Have you ever had stitches?
08:51Yes.
08:52Yeah.
08:52Have you ever cut your own hair?
08:55Yes.
08:56And it was disgusting.
08:59What was it?
09:00It's like, I buzzed my head when I was younger.
09:02Yeah.
09:02It didn't turn out great.
09:03Yeah.
09:03I tried to cut it during COVID.
09:05It's like, man, I'm going to try to cut my own hair and just put a patch in.
09:08It's like, you know what?
09:09Have you ever had the chicken pox?
09:16No.
09:17Have you ever been skydiving?
09:19Never.
09:20Have you ever swam in the ocean?
09:23No.
09:23Have you ever been in love?
09:24Oh, yes.
09:29Okay.
09:30Have you ever been to New York City?
09:32That'd be a yes.
09:33Have you ever been camping?
09:36Yes.
09:36Have you ever gotten in a fight?
09:40Yes.
09:40Would not like to see the other guy at the end of that.
09:43You ever been stung by a bee?
09:46No.
09:47And last one, have you ever worn braces?
09:50Yes.
09:50Okay.
09:51All right.
09:51Wow.
09:52You just learned a lot about Milton Williams right there.
09:54That was great.
09:54Shout out, Bob Ryan.
09:55Good little test there.
09:57Well, Milton, we appreciate the time.
09:59Thanks so much.
09:59Best of luck on Sunday in Tampa.
10:02And we'll talk to you in a few weeks.
10:04Appreciate you all, man.
10:05All right.
10:06Milton Williams joins us every other Patriots Friday here on Jones and Keefe.
10:10No broken bones, no bee stings, but he has had stitches.
10:14Yes.
10:14So he definitely won the fight, I would imagine.
10:16Oh, yeah.
10:17That he got into it, I would think.
10:18I just love the idea.
10:19Hopefully it was one of those streamers chirping him.
10:21I love the idea of these, like, 13-year-old kids coming home after school, firing up
10:25the Xbox or the PlayStation.
10:27What are your stats, man?
10:28He doesn't.
10:28He's only got five sacks.
10:31He's like, why don't you also Google the contract he signed?
10:33Give me that a Google.
10:34I love the milkman.
10:35He's great.
10:36What a guest.
10:37We appreciate the time every Patriots Friday here on Jones and Keefe.
