00:00He begged them to stop. He asked them, why are you doing this to me? And I can't imagine what
00:05that poor kid went through in the last hours of his life. My son packed his bags and left my house
00:10to go to his dad's house. We exchanged a few text messages and that was the last communication that
00:16I had directly with him. When I woke up the next day, I saw that he had texted me at 3.41 in the
00:22morning and it said, mother, I love you. She had no idea those would be her son's final words to
00:27her. I texted him right away at 6 a.m. and he didn't respond. I sent him another text that said,
00:32are you okay? And at that point, I knew that Jordan should be awake and responding to me,
00:36but he didn't. At this point, I'm panicked and I reach out to his girlfriend at school and say,
00:43is Jordan there? And she said, no. And at that point, I knew that something was wrong. I texted
00:48Jordan's dad and said, is Jordan at home? She tried to convince herself it was nothing,
00:53but a mother's instinct is never wrong. And nine minutes later, he called me. And as soon as I saw
01:00the phone call and not a text, I knew it. And all he said to me was, Jordan's gone. And I said,
01:08no, no, no. And my legs went numb and nothing seemed real at that moment.
01:14She reveals what happened that fateful night, something no one could have anticipated.
01:20He was a victim of extortion. Extortion is when a picture or a video is shared and someone asks
01:30money not to share that with other people. In Jordan's situation, he was being contacted by
01:35an alleged girl on social media. Just normal kid conversation. Started around just after 10 o'clock
01:41at night. It went on for six hours. Then it came down to send me a picture of yourself. I'll send one
01:47of me. And once he shared an image with them, that was that they demanded $1,000 from him or they were
01:53going to send this to all of his friends, followers, family. Jordan felt powerless. He thought there was
01:59no way out of this situation. He didn't have $1,000. He had $300. And they were like, fine, send that.
02:05But it wasn't, it wasn't enough. And this kept going. And they made him do things and show him things
02:11within a certain time period. There was a deadline for him doing things or else we're going to do this.
02:16They were building collages of his photos and making it look like they were sending it or that
02:22they had sent it out to his friends, his friends' moms. And when Jordan said, I'm going to unalive
02:30myself, they said, good, do that now or we're going to make you do it. And they made him believe that
02:35that was the only choice he had in those moments. Jordan's mom is turning her grief into action,
02:41using her voice to warn parents and protect other children. I can't save Jordan, but hopefully his
02:48story can save another child and another family from going through what we have been going through.
02:54And this happened so fast. This was in six hours, less than six hours they got to him in the middle of
03:00the night where he's alone in the dark and scared.
