00:00This is the story on how I became a mom within 15 minutes. This is me the day before I gave birth.
00:05It started in my room where I was curled up in a ball and couldn't get off the toilet. I was having
00:10major bleeding and didn't know what to do. Once I called my mom upstairs, she told me that maybe
00:15it was just period cramps, but I thought that couldn't be possible because I had just ended
00:19my period two days before. So then we ended up at the hospital at the ER and I'm thinking my
00:24appendix is bursting and the ER doctor pushes on my stomach and he doesn't suspect anything.
00:29Doctors assume it's a cyst, but they couldn't have been more wrong.
00:32During the ultrasound, my mom then saw something familiar, which seems to be little feet.
00:37So then the doctor comes in, looks, and I am 10 centimeters dilated. I was then rushed up
00:42to labor and delivery. 15 minutes later, frat baby entered this world. Within those 15 minutes,
00:47my life changed forever. And this life-changing event left everyone asking one simple question.
00:53This is me right before I got pregnant. And this is me in the middle of my pregnancy.
00:58Unbelievable. I know. I lost 30 pounds in size down, two jean sizes. So I was the skinniest
01:04I've ever been. Let me tell you something else. I also had my period. And you could see where that
01:08would raise some questions for me. Well, it turns out it's a thing and it's called a cryptic pregnancy.
01:13But how does someone reveal such a huge life change to their entire family?
01:17So here's how I announced it to the world, AKA Instagram. When I got home from the hospital,
01:22I posted this to my story. And let me tell you the amount of messages I got from this post was
01:28absurd. A day later, I then posted an official announcement on my Instagram feed. Everyone was
01:33still super confused because I really wasn't saying much. My sister was away at college. So she had no
01:39idea any of this was actually happening. And of course it was like 5am. So she was sleeping. She
01:44wasn't answering her phone. So she actually found out hours after I gave birth. I literally just texted
01:50her. Hey, call me. You're not. She also didn't meet her until she was like two or three weeks old
01:55again because she was at college. She really did think I was pulling a prank on her. These are my
02:00aunts, my mom's sisters. And of course my friends had to know right away. I literally told them over
02:14Snapchat, just imagine waking up in the morning and opening this. But hey, it's an iconic announcement
02:19and they won't forget it. Viewers were desperate to know how she got through such a drastic event in
02:24her life. People always ask how I was prepared for a baby. The answer is I was not at all. I am so
02:29grateful to have supportive parents. They ran up the bill at Bye Bye Baby and Macy's. I came home
02:36to a fully prepped house. They even turned our extra room into Maddie's very own bedroom. Another
02:43question people always ask me is how I'm doing mentally. I am so grateful that I did not suffer
02:49postpartum depression. I was honestly fine. Obviously I was in shock, but I do think things
02:54happen for a reason. Was I on birth control? No, I was not on birth control. I've never been on birth
02:59control. I'm currently not on birth control. Did you drink? Obviously I was in college when I got
03:04pregnant. So I was drinking. I was going out. But when I come home for the summer, my parents aren't
03:09big drinkers. I was working. The most I've had was like a glass of wine. I wasn't going
03:14out. I wasn't 21 yet. So I wasn't going to the bars. So just very little here and there.
03:18Another question I get asked all the time is, is her dad around? Did I know who he was?
03:23Yes, her dad is around and in her life fully. And I immediately knew who he was because he
03:28was the only person I slept with at college. How did my parents react? My parents were never
03:32mad and very supportive. Although she has fallen in love with her new life as a mom, she does
03:37feel she missed out on the pregnancy experience that women typically go through.
03:41Here are some things I would do if I knew I was pregnant. I probably would have saved money,
03:47which I did not do at all. If it weren't for my parents, I don't know how I would afford
03:51anything. I was a little waitress at a restaurant making maybe $200 a night. Baby things are expensive.
03:59Next, I would have had a gender reveal. My next baby, I am not going to wait until he or she
04:04is born to find out the gender. Next, I would pick a name out before. The stress of picking
04:09a name out when the baby's already here is just way too much for me. I think if I had
04:14known I was pregnant, her name would not be Madison. Madison was never like a top contender
04:20for me for names. And I think every girl has thought of what they're going to name their
04:24baby when they're younger. I would definitely take maternity photos. I didn't have the cute
04:29little bump. She's already looking forward to having another baby soon.
04:32I wish I did have the cute little bump so I can wear like the tight little dresses with the bump
04:36and take pictures and be the cute girl with the bump. I would have a baby shower and I did have
04:42a baby shower once Maddie was born. My friends threw a huge baby shower for me and I am so thankful
04:47and it turned out great. But Maddie was there so we couldn't play any of like the typical baby shower
04:52games. So I will definitely be having a baby shower before my next baby is born. But I want another one
04:57already. I can't wait to have like the experiences of being pregnant.
