00:00Two great stars and their contestant partners are going to have close calls!
00:15Narrow escapes!
00:19Split-second decisions!
00:22Grab your chance at $25,000 in cash!
00:26A combination guaranteed to make you say...
00:31And now, here's the host of our show, Tom Kennedy!
00:35Are you kidding? Hey, hey, big day. Thank you, Rod.
00:39I'm glad you joined us today. Thank you. And welcome to our show. As you may know, for the next three weeks, we're going to be playing an all-new celebrity version of...
00:47Now, we still have contestants in Big Money, but this time, we have stars and a whole new way of playing the game.
00:52For example, we play with teams, and let's say hello to our first team, actress, singer, dancer, and a dear friend, Ms. Carol Lawrence, and her contestant partner, Bruce Eisenhardt.
01:01Come in here, Carol. How are you, y'all? Good to see you.
01:05Bruce, good to see you. Now, your opposing team. Here he is, ladies and gentlemen, handsome Mr. Patrick Wayne, who is currently starring with Shirley Jones in the new NBC series, Shirley, and his contestant partner, Griselle Feldemar.
01:18Hello!
01:20Oh!
01:21Feldfebber. Hello, Patrick.
01:22Hi, how are you? Nice to see you.
01:23Griselle Feldfebber is what it is.
01:25All right. Isn't this fun?
01:27Posing.
01:28What are you up to? You're always busy, Carol.
01:29Oh, I love to work, Tom. You know that.
01:31What do you have coming up?
01:32I've just finished a musical with Bobby Short for television, a special shot in New York City dealing with the lights of Broadway and Studio 54.
01:40And then I'll be hosting a show from Russia about all the great women of Russia.
01:44Oh, exciting.
01:45So that's what we're working on, yes.
01:46Look forward to that.
01:47Okay.
01:48And Patrick, Shirley, are you having fun with Shirley?
01:50Shirley. New television series, yeah.
01:51We're on Friday nights on NBC.
01:53Hope everybody watches it.
01:54Keeps me very busy.
01:55Oh, that's terrific.
01:56Much luck with it.
01:57Thank you, Tom.
01:58Happy to have you with us.
01:59Now, let's find out about Griselle.
02:00Now, wait a minute.
02:01Feldfebber.
02:02Right.
02:03Tell us about Griselle Feldfebber.
02:04Okay.
02:05I'm originally from Connecticut, back east.
02:06We've been out here eight years.
02:07And I'm a full-time student at UCLA.
02:09Oh, yeah.
02:10Biology major.
02:11Hopefully we'll be going pre-med.
02:13Okay.
02:14And now that leaves Bruce Eisenhardt.
02:16Yes, I'm an electrical engineer and I'm also, just started on my PhD at USC in electrical engineering.
02:21PhD.
02:22Yes.
02:23Now, before our show, the contestants flipped the coin to decide which celebrity they would play with and who would have the option of charging or blocking the board.
02:30And the option goes to Patrick and Griselle.
02:32The first board deals with movies.
02:34The second board deals with kids.
02:35On movies, what are you guys going to do?
02:37Charge or block?
02:38Charge.
02:39They're going to charge.
02:40Now, the charger goes behind the arrow and the blocker goes behind the stop sign.
02:43So, take your positions.
02:44Go on over there, guys.
02:45And I'll explain the whole thing and we'll get right into this and see who's going to win the very first round.
02:50Now, to win the first round, all you have to do is get from level one all the way up to level six within 60 seconds.
02:55And each of you will be responsible for every other level.
02:58So, that should be no problem.
02:59Except that Carol and Bruce over there are going to play six blocks somewhere on that board.
03:04And each time you run into one of those blocks, you're going to lose five seconds on the clock.
03:08But if you do manage to get to the top, then you win the round.
03:11And if you don't, then Carol and Bruce will win the round.
03:13And whichever team wins two rounds wins the game.
03:16A chance for the contestant to win then $25,000 in pass.
03:21All right.
03:22Patrick and Griselle charge on out of here.
03:25There they go.
03:26Now, they're going out of sight and out of hearing.
03:29And as soon as they do that, I'm going to turn over here and say,
03:31Now, blockers, collectively, you can place six blocks on that board except that you may not put any more than one on the sixth level
03:39and no more than three on any one of the others.
03:41Your team will be credited with the amount of money attached to the blocks that your opponents might encounter.
03:46Now, as I say, you can place six blocks.
03:48And that means, Bruce, you'll place the first three.
03:50And Carol, you'll place the remaining three.
03:51All right.
03:52It's movies.
03:53Bruce, start us off.
03:54I'm going to go up to level three and place a block on 40.
03:57Uh-huh.
03:58And I'm going to place a block on level four at $50 and skip up to level six and place it on $500.
04:06All right.
04:07Now you can put them anywhere you wish, Carol, except on the sixth level.
04:09All right.
04:10On level five, um, 40.
04:13Okay.
04:14On level two, uh, 30.
04:17And now you have one remaining.
04:19On level one, 50.
04:20Well, you got all the levels covered.
04:22Good luck to both of you.
04:23Carol and Bruce.
04:24Let's see how they work together as a team.
04:26As we bring back our Chargers, Patrick Wayne and Grizelle Feldfeffer.
04:31All right.
04:32Patrick and Grizelle.
04:33Now, as I said, you will be responsible for levels one, three, and five.
04:38That is one of you will.
04:39And the other will be responsible for levels two, four, and six.
04:41Who's going to start on level one?
04:43I guess I'll start.
04:44So you're going to be one, three, and five.
04:45All right.
04:46It deals with movies, as you can see.
04:47And remember, if time is running short, either of you can call for the long shot.
04:51And so that, of course, will stop the clock.
04:54All right.
04:55It's movies.
04:56There are 60 seconds on the clock.
04:57Grizelle, you're going to start.
04:58It's on level one.
04:59So giving me the level and the money amount.
05:01Chuck.
05:02Level one, $40.
05:03$140.
05:04Al Josen starred in the first talkie picture, The Bad Singer.
05:09Same level one.
05:10$10.
05:11$110.
05:12In 72, an American Indian woman rejected Marlon Brando's Oscar for The Odd Feather.
05:17Red Feather?
05:18Same level one.
05:19$20.
05:20$120.
05:21Jean Pitney sang the theme song of the 1961 film, Town Without Copies.
05:26Oh, no.
05:28Same level one.
05:29$30.
05:30$130.
05:31In the Sunshine Boys, Walter Matthau was constantly irritated by Sun Bird.
05:35Charge.
05:36All right, Charge.
05:37Charge Patrick.
05:38Level two, $50.
05:39$250.
05:40William Holden falls for a B-girl in the 1960 film, The World of Susie the Floozie.
05:44Wong.
05:45Charge Grisel.
05:46Level $3.
05:47$10.
05:48$3.10.
05:49As Phileas Fogg, David Niven bet he could travel around the world in 80 ways.
05:52Dave.
05:53Charge Patrick.
05:55Long shot.
05:56Ha, ha.
05:57Here's the guy on the clock.
05:58He knows I'm afraid of Dave.
06:00He knows how to play the game because there are only six seconds left on the clock.
06:07So Patrick calls for a long shot.
06:09Now that takes them from the third level immediately up to the sixth level.
06:13And that means that the blocking team is now going to place a secret block on that sixth level.
06:18Okay, blockers.
06:19Carol and Bruce, have you talked it over?
06:21All right.
06:22Go ahead and push one of those three magic buttons over there, which will place a secret block on the sixth level.
06:26Remember, there may be also a previously placed block on that level as well.
06:29And now, chargers, decide between you which position you want to choose.
06:33And Patrick, since you are responsible for the sixth level, only you can answer the blooper if it is free of a block.
06:38So which position do you want?
06:39Level 6200.
06:406200.
06:41A giant ape falls in love with Fay Wray in the movie Monkey Business.
06:46King Kong.
06:47Get this.
06:48Get this.
06:49Get this.
06:50Get this.
06:51Get this.
06:52Get this.
06:53Get this.
06:54Get this.
06:55Get this.
06:56Get it.
06:57Very good teamwork.
06:58Patrick and Griselle, come over here with me.
06:59Very good teamwork.
07:00And they win the very first round, Patrick and Griselle.
07:02Woo!
07:03They happen to catch the one available blooper up there.
07:05Let's go back and look at these bloopers now in level one.
07:07In 72, an American Indian woman rejected Marlon Brando's Oscar for The Godfather.
07:12Gene Pitney sang the theme song of the 61 film, Town Without Nutpotties, Pity.
07:17And over there on the fourth $40 level, I should say the $40 box, Al Jolson starred in the first talkie picture, The Jazz Singer.
07:26In the second round, the charging team becomes the blocking team, and the blocking team becomes the charging team.
07:31That means Carol and Bruce charge on out of here.
07:33And get over there, Patrick and Griselle.
07:36And now, Griselle Feldfaber, the first three blocks are yours, the board deals with kids.
07:41So we start with you.
07:42Okay, I'll put my first one on level three for $40.
07:46I'll go up to level four, put one on $30.
07:50And then jump up to level six and put it on $200.
07:53All right.
07:54And now, Patrick Wayne, what's your pleasure, sir?
07:56Level two, $40.
07:58Level three, $30.
08:01One left.
08:02Level four, $20.
08:03All right.
08:04I tell you, these people know what they're doing.
08:06They deal with authority at all times.
08:08Here we go now with Carol Lawrence and Bruce Eisenhardt.
08:12They are now coming out from our isolation area over there.
08:16Hop in here, Carol.
08:17All right.
08:18And Bruce.
08:19And, of course, now you're going to be responsible for every other level, right?
08:22Yes, sir.
08:23Who's going to start this charge?
08:24I will begin, girls.
08:25You're going to start.
08:26It deals with kids.
08:27There are 60 seconds on the clock.
08:28So we start with you, Carol.
08:29Yes.
08:30Giving me the level and the money amount.
08:31Charge!
08:32Level one, $20.
08:33One, $20.
08:34One, $20.
08:35A song that puts babies to sleep is called a boring one.
08:38A lullaby.

08:40Level two, $40.
08:41Two, $40.
08:42Rock.
08:43Four, three, two, one.
08:46Same level two.
08:47Level two, $50.
08:48Two, $50.
08:49A Cub Scout is supposed to do a good girl every day.
08:51A good deed every day.
08:52Charge, Carol.
08:53Level three, $10.

09:09When dad gets the hairbrush, Junior knows he's going to get his fanny comb.
09:14Beat.
09:15Hit.
09:16Charge, Bruce.
09:17Level six, $500.
09:18Six, $500.
09:19A popular soldier doll for boys was the G.I. feel silly playing with a dog.

09:24You did it.
09:25You did it, Bruce.
09:27Carol.
09:28You not only did it, but you had eight seconds left on the clock.
09:36I was ready to say long.
09:37Stop.
09:38You didn't need that.
09:39Come on over here, Bruce and Carol.
09:40Come on.
09:41Patrick and Griselle join the center stage.
09:42We now have a tie situation.
09:44One round for Patrick's team, one for Carol's team.
09:47They had eight seconds left on the clock.
09:49Outstanding.
09:50And now, whoever wins the next round, the contestant will have a chance for $25,000 in cash.
09:56This is the biggie coming up.
09:57The category is business.
09:58All right, Carol and Bruce, you get to decide.
10:00Charge or block?
10:01Let's charge.
10:02They say charge.
10:03Charge.
10:04Charge on out of here.
10:05All right, Patrick, get over there and block you.
10:07Charges are out of sight, out of sight, out of hearing.
10:10Here's Patrick Wayne and Griselle Feldpaper.
10:12Is that it?
10:13Close?
10:14Right, right.
10:15Feldpaper.
10:16Griselle, once again, we start with you for the first three blocks.
10:17Where do you want to put them?
10:18Okay.
10:19What's your business this time?
10:20All right, I'll go to level three.
10:21Uh-huh.
10:22For $40.
10:23Level four for $50.
10:26Yes, ma'am.
10:27Level six for $350.
10:30Patrick, place them well, my friend.
10:32Level three for $50.
10:34$350.
10:35Level three for $20.
10:36Uh-huh.
10:37And level four for $20.
10:39So you guys figured that they're going to be rather knowledgeable.
10:42All right, yeah.
10:43All right, whoever wins this round, the contestant will have a chance for $25,000.
10:47And so here comes Carol Lawrence and Mr. Bruce Eisenhardt.
10:51Now, once again, each of you will be responsible for every other level.
10:56And since the last time you charged, Carol had levels one, three, and five.
10:59That means this time, Bruce, you are responsible for those levels.
11:02Right.
11:03Remember to that if time runs short, either of you may call for the long shot and we will stop the clock.
11:08So you have 60 seconds on the clock.
11:11It's devoted to business, this board is.
11:13This is the tiebreaker.
11:14We start with you, Bruce, giving me the level and the money amount.
11:18Charge!
11:19Level one, $30.
11:20$130.
11:21The largest steel manufacturer in America is beg, borrow, or steal.
11:25Kaiser.
11:27Same level one.
11:28Level one, $20.
11:29$120.
11:30Catherine Deneuve is the spokeswoman for a perfume called PU5.
11:33Chanel.
11:35Charge!
11:36Carol.
11:37Level two, $10.
11:38$210.
11:39The largest commercial airline manufactured in the U.S. is a growing $747.
11:42Boeing.
11:43Charge, Bruce.
11:44Level three, 30.
11:45Three, 30.
11:46One deodorant claims it takes the worry out of being cloned.
11:49Close.
11:50Charge, Carol.
11:51Level four, $20.
11:52$420.
11:53Four, four, three, two, one.
11:57Same level four, Carol.
11:58$10.
11:59Four, 10.
12:00According to the old saying, Tabasco sauce burns a hole in your pocket.
12:03Tabasco...
12:05Same level four.
12:06$30.
12:07Four, 30.
12:08Nobody demands more from a Datsun than Datsun.
12:10We are masochists.
12:11Driven.
12:12Charge, Bruce.
12:13Level five, 30.
12:14Five, 30.
12:15One of America's most...
12:16All righty, Carol calls for the long shot.
12:19Yeah.
12:20But you've noticed the teamwork.
12:23Very good teamwork.
12:24He was busy at work, so she said, hey, four seconds on the clock.
12:27Yes.
12:28So with four seconds, Carol wisely calls for the long shot.
12:30That takes them now from the fifth level up to the sixth level.
12:33And now, Grizel and Patrick, there are three secret buttons.
12:36You guys decide which one of those.
12:38It's up to you.
12:39They're going to place a secret block on the sixth level.
12:41They have three buttons on the podium.
12:42Go ahead, Grizel.
12:43Place that secret block now.
12:45They have conferred.
12:46Now, Chargers, decide between you which position you want to choose.
12:50I'll go with 350.
12:51All right.
12:52Six, 350.
12:53Block.
12:54And Grizel and Patrick win the round and the championship.
13:00You sure did.
13:01That was a good game.
13:02Come on with me, Bruce and Carol.
13:04Let's do a little Sunday afternoon quarterbacking as we look at some of those bloopers up there.
13:07All right.
13:08On level one, the largest steel manufacturer in America is, I guess that's US steel.
13:13Red steel.
13:14And then up there on the fourth level, according to the old saying, not Tabasco sauce.
13:17It's money burns a hole in your pocket.
13:18Oh, fish.
13:19You were trying to think of something else that Tabasco sauce does.
13:21Burn a hole in your stomach was what I was going to say.
13:24On level five, one of America's most successful businesses began when Mr. Sears met Mr. Roebuck.
13:30And of course, we didn't even get to that one because you called for the long shot.
13:32Come on over here, champs.
13:34Patrick Wayne and Grizel.
13:36Come on back over here.
13:37Oh, we come back there.
13:38Congratulations to you.
13:39Yes.
13:40I'm just going to tell them that they wanted to be, and unfortunately we actually divided too.
13:43But Bruce, did you enjoy yourself?
13:45I had a great time.
13:46I'm glad you did.
13:47We have a nice gift for you.
13:48And Rob Rudd is going to tell you about it right now.
13:50It's a moped from Saks.
13:52A superbly engineered moped imported from Germany.
13:55Built to give you the best in fun, safety, service, and economy.
13:59Because quality counts, Saks!
14:02So, thank you very much, Bruce.
14:04Thank you very much.
14:05And the very best of luck to you.
14:07All right, bye-bye.
14:08And now, lovely Carol, you're going to take just a little bit of a rest.
14:11Okay.
14:12Because we've got some mighty important business to take care of.
14:13And that business is this.
14:14In just one moment, both members of our winning team are going to run the gauntlet of villains.
14:20And if they win, Grizel Feldtaber is going to walk out of here with $25,000 in cash.
14:27We'll see you next time with Patrick Wayne right after this.
14:31And now, Patrick and Grizel, I'd like to introduce you to ten of the most incorrigible imps
14:37who ever attempted to stand between the contestant and her money.
14:40And here they are.
14:57You two, take your positions.
14:59And I'm going to go over here and say if they have anything to say to us today.
15:02All right, you imps, what do you have to say?
15:04Whoosh!
15:05For two, you betcha.
15:07Right.
15:08Now, we're going to run the gauntlet.
15:10One of you will try to beat the first five villains.
15:13Then the other will try to beat the last five.
15:15And if together you get through all ten villains, then you, Grizel, are going to walk out of here with $25,000 in cash.
15:22Now, how much time do you have?
15:23You get 60 seconds plus one second for each $100 you earned in playing the game.
15:27So between charging and blocking, you won $700, which means you have seven seconds added to your basic 60 seconds for a total of 67 seconds to beat those villains.
15:36Now, which one of you is going to take on the first five and which is going to take on the second five?
15:40I'm going to take the first five.
15:41You're going to take the first five.
15:42All right.
15:43That means that Patrick, you're going to go down there to villain number six and take your position.
15:46You're going to take yours, Grizel, at villain number one, and I will take mine right in between.
15:50I'll wish you both the best of luck.
15:52You have 67 seconds, pardon me, on the clock.
15:55The gauntlet and the clock will begin with the first bell.
15:58One top female tennis player is Billie Jean Simmons.
16:01King!
16:02Vince Edwards played the role of TV brain surgeon Ben Gurion.
16:06Ben Casey.
