00:00After over 20 years of helping other people find their dream home overseas,
00:10we're actually doing it ourselves.
00:15What did you think of the window?
00:16There is none.
00:17There is.
00:18There's just a hole in the wall.
00:20Congratulations, you now own a Spanish property.
00:23Hello.
00:25I don't even know why I'm getting emotional.
00:28The reality of it is hitting me.
00:30It's a lot of work.
00:32It's been stressful up until this point,
00:34but I think what I've got coming is going to be even worse.
00:43I don't want to move into somewhere that's just a dump,
00:46where the toilets don't flush, the windows don't open, nothing works.
00:51Let's get on with it.
00:53Hammer it down.
00:56Jack, hammer it out.
00:59What can go wrong?
01:02What's this saying about polishing a turd?
01:05Although a turd with loads of potential.
01:08Today I'm going to see a friend of mine that I've known for years and years, Mark.
01:26He's a real estate agent here on the Costa del Sol, Costa Blanca.
01:30He's actually doing a renovation project of his own.
01:36I've never done a renovation in Spain before and I feel like I just need some extra reassurance going into it that it's not going to be a big mistake.
01:46Hi, Mark.
01:47Hi, Jasmine.
01:48How are you?
01:49Wow, I'm good.
01:50This is your place then?
01:51Well, welcome to my building site.
01:54Gosh.
01:55It is getting there, trust me.
01:56It's a big project, isn't it?
01:58So we've had to change all the windows, the electricity, the plumbing, the floors, the walls.
02:05We've changed virtually everything inside.
02:07I like the tiles, by the way.
02:09Are they new or were they original?
02:10Those are the original tiles.
02:11Are they?
02:12So we've managed to save those.
02:13Inside we've totally modernised it for modern living.
02:21Ooh, nice staircase.
02:23This is one of the features of the house I really liked.
02:26We're replacing all the spindles and obviously re-tiling all the floors.
02:29Yeah, yeah.
02:30It's a very grand entrance hall.
02:32There were lots of things I really liked about Mark's property.
02:35I think he's got really good vision.
02:37Oh, this looks lovely.
02:39Oh my God, it's huge.
02:44And I love the fact that whilst it was modern, it still had the feel of a traditional house.
02:51That's kind of what I want to replicate here.
02:54This was originally the living room.
02:56So we then decided to convert this into the kitchen.
03:00And this area here was actually not attached to the house.
03:04It was a separate laundry area.
03:05So we knocked that through.
03:07So it gave us this long dining area.
03:09I mean, this is a, this is a pretty epic kitchen diner.
03:12This is the room in the house really.
03:13So this is, listen, I think we all spend so much time in the kitchen.
03:17Look at this, I think it's stunning.
03:19I do love a big island.
03:20I'm thinking about our house and how we could change the layout and incorporate having a nice big island.
03:29Because I do like that, but I'm not sure how we'd be able to do it.
03:32Did you have a contractor to do everything for you or have you gone to different people?
03:38No, to different people.
03:39And then project managed it myself rather than going to one company and just getting one company to do it.
03:43And because I was living here, I think it worked well.
03:45You were living here as well.
03:46Okay, I was going to ask because how has that been?
03:50Dusty.
03:51Yeah, the dust never disappears.
03:55But I think the great thing with living in it, you see things changing every day.
03:59Yeah, it's rewarding to see it.
04:00And then you get other ideas as well by living in it.
04:03True, yeah.
04:04I suppose the fact that Mark has been living in the house whilst renovating and with the family is quite reassuring.
04:13Because, well, if he can do it, then we can do it.
04:16As long as the end result looks...
04:18It will be. And quicker than you think.
04:20If it's as sparkling as this, then I'll be happy.
04:23I mean, this is absolutely gorgeous.
04:27Seeing Mark today was brilliant, actually, and seeing the house even more so.
04:33One thing that Mark said that I really took on board was about living in the renovation.
04:39That it's going to be dusty, but it's going to be worth it in the end.
04:50Brimming with confidence, Jasmine and her family head to their house together for the first time as its proud new owners.
05:02Here we go then. First time we are visiting our new house as a family.
05:08Come on!
05:11Come on!
05:15Sneaks!
05:17The place is in such a state that they are yet to move in.
05:21Instead, they're staying in a nearby holiday let that's quickly draining their renovation budget.
05:26Hello.
05:27The store's come to say hello.
05:29come to say hello seeing this house empty you can see how much potential there is here
05:43therefore you step walking around it seems like there's a lot of things that need to be the first
05:47priority like this garage door for example just to make that secure check hot water plumbing
05:55electrics painting cleaning and then we just have to move in because we do not have
06:04the luxury of time to plan everything right now we just need somewhere to live
06:08see that's another amazing these two of you that god is invisible paint invisible paintings
06:14number one priority before we move in is that it's got to be safe
06:26so i'm just currently picking up all the broken glass from the garden
06:32and then going to pick up all the dog poop from the garden very glamorous job
06:38there was a lot of poo in the garden when we moved into the house
06:47there was a lot of dog eggs
06:51it's absolutely minging this is not my favorite job
06:59everything that we move underneath it is full of ants or cockroaches it's got to be done
07:08over the next couple of weeks jasmine and john continue phase one of their build
07:19doing temporary work to make the place livable so they can move in and start the full renovation
07:26i feel so frustrated right now because there's so much to do and it sort of feels a bit overwhelming
07:33i just want to get in here i can't wait the temporary holiday let where they're living has cost just
07:39under three thousand pounds for a month an expense jasmine and john could do without
07:47unfortunately we don't have unlimited funds and we can't afford to rent somewhere else the whole time
07:54that we're renovating this house so we just need to make it comfortable
07:57then we can move in and we can do the renovation bit by bit it might seem a bit strange or not make
08:06much sense to do the work that we're doing now in order to move into the house before we start the
08:12full-on renovation i don't want to move into somewhere that's just a dump where the toilets
08:18don't flush the windows don't open nothing works with the whole family pitching in the interior
08:25whitewashing is well underway
08:31so john's heading outside to team up with a couple of local builders jasmine has brought in
08:37today we're trying to make the insides of the roof terraces and make a start on the front of the house
08:43looking less like a unloved house and a little bit more like a loved house we're also very mindful
08:48that the weather has been pretty bad and pretty wet of late so we're keen just to just to seal it and
08:52make sure it's all okay and doesn't get any worse even getting the house to a level to make it livable
08:58we've realized it's a bit too overwhelming for jazz and i even with our work schedules so we've got
09:03the lovely carlos and martin who are here helping us decorate the one biggest test is um is trying to
09:11communicate i'm just trying to work out my spanish for how where am i starting or where do you want me to
09:16start is i don't even know the spanish for brushes hang on a minute i'm going for brush
09:23common see and uh come and see him as there is a sap here no sir come and say
09:30come and say amas carlos speaks little to no english in fact i'm gonna go as far as say he
09:35speaks no english but that's not his fault i'm the one living in spain brocha brocha well brocha okay
09:43perfecto gracias gracias i think i understood somehow carlos came into my life and he has been
09:54amazing he's been brilliant he's so can do me llamo carlos herman me dedico al transporte y a la
10:05construcción desde hace muchos años como se llama rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo
10:14rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rodillo rod
10:44Now I really am like Carlos's hive help.
11:14My role in the renovation is kind of grafting, I'm very happy to be a hard grafter.
11:29Just move things around, get stuff done on a day-to-day basis.
11:34Getting the kids involved seems like a good idea at the time, they seem to be enjoying getting involved and feeling part of the renovation and they've got so many ideas about what they want to do with each of their bedrooms.
12:01So it's great that they are part of it, I think I'm going to have to completely repaint everything they've painted though.
12:11But I guess that's what happens when you get two Lelands painting.
12:17At least for them it sort of makes them feel invested that this is going to be our new home.
12:24Over the next few days the place is transformed.
12:31We've done the bare essentials, the absolute basics to make it as comfortable as it possibly can be for us to live in.
12:42What's the saying about polishing a turd?
12:47Although, you know, a turd with loads of potential.
12:52Three weeks in and eager to leave the costly holiday let behind, Jasmine and John have focused on making the house they've bought just about liveable so they can finally turn their attention to creating something truly special.
13:18This is the basement of the house. This is the room that I want to make fun for the kids.
13:25I am a bit of a big kid and I kind of want to live vicariously through my kids so yeah we want a cinema room, I say we, I and ultimately this is probably the room we least need to live in this house but it would be the room I'd quite like to finish first.
13:41So the kids are on board with the house by having a great playroom but let's see I'm fairly sure Jazz doesn't agree.
13:48Down here I would have a dance studio and a karaoke machine, maybe something like ping pong or pool or I mean I'm quite partial to a bit of air hockey, undefeated.
14:07It would be nice to have a relaxation area.
14:11Yeah, I don't know, there are so many options. We have to decide.
14:17There is one space upstairs where they are in clear agreement.
14:21This is the living area so Jazz is keen that this is the room we prioritise getting right.
14:28So our plan is to get rid of this wall to make it slightly more open plan between the kitchen and the living area and then I think long, long term, eventually I think we'll open it all up.
14:39So this wall will come down, there's not much there and then I think eventually get a steal across here, take this section of wall out so we have like bifolds and make this terrace a little bit more usable, a bit more indoor, outdoor.
14:56Looking for inspiration for their open plan space, Jasmine has arranged a visit to a rather special local property.
15:03Ooh, this is good. This looks nice.
15:10I like the roof tiles. Yeah, I like that little tower there.
15:14Not adding a tower to that.
15:17Casa Mil Flores, the house of a thousand flowers, may look modest from the front but step inside and it unfolds with six bedrooms, an open plan living space and a stunning pool of views stretching down to the sea.
15:34Ah-ha.
15:37Nice.
15:38That is nice, isn't it? Look at that view.
15:40Yeah, stunning.
15:42It's beautiful.
15:44Looking around, I like the open plan layout. I think we want to get a bit of that open plan feeling going on with ours, but the kitchen for me is a bit too contemporary.
15:56But also the island.
15:58Mmm.
16:00The sort of dining table island, it's not just a breakfast bar, is it?
16:03It makes you realise that we do need to open ours up.
16:06And even though they've kept these structural pillars, which we will have even if we take out all the walls, it still feels very open and lovely, doesn't it?
16:15Oh, this is quite nice, isn't it? I like these brushed gold fittings.
16:26It's really nice.
16:27It's nice, it's very simple, but very nice.
16:29But they've got the gold fittings in every bathroom.
16:32Yeah.
16:33And it works.
16:35The property was amazing. It was stunning. I think the location was great, the views were great.
16:39Oh, look at this. It's a lovely light bedroom, isn't it?
16:45And the fact that it had been renovated head to toe really helped. It was amazing.
16:50You know what I like in here and what I think our bedroom might be missing is just bigger windows.
16:56Or even the window that is there, just making it much bigger, even if you had like a little Juliet balcony.
17:01I think as we looked around the house, it kind of cemented the fact that there were certain elements that Jaz and I agreed on.
17:08I couldn't even do that thing where you were...
17:12So it was kind of reassuring to know that our path into our own house may be lined with agreement most of the time.
17:20Oh.
17:23A pool with water in it.
17:26I like the arches out here and I like the fact that the continuation of the floor tiles inside carries on out here.
17:35Whatever we tile the floor in the games room in the basement, you just follow that out.
17:40Continue that out. Yeah, that's a great idea.
17:43This looks very slick and contemporary and beautiful and I love it.
17:48And there are elements of this that I would love to take away and replicate.
17:53But I've got to say, I know this is obviously a much more expensive house than our house.
17:59But I still prefer ours.
18:03Yeah, I mean, I think I'll prefer ours once it's done.
18:05Once it's done.
18:07On the market for nearly two million pounds, there's a lot to like there.
18:11But with champagne taste comes the need to keep the income flowing.
18:16So Jasmine's off to film another episode of A Place in the Sun.
18:24While John is left to crack on with fulfilling the vision.
18:28Well, at least making a start on Jasmine's list.
18:31I've never felt such a crusty bit of material in a while.
18:35It's very smelly.
18:38And it's very manky.
18:42Over the years, I'd say John's had one or two DIY disasters.
18:48But he's getting better, thankfully, because there's going to be a lot of DIY to do here.
18:56Sometimes he just ploughs into something.
18:59He's not a person who can sit down and think things through.
19:02He's like, I've got to take action now, this minute.
19:09And so he'll start something and then think, I haven't actually got everything I need to be able to finish it.
19:17So sometimes it does get half a job done.
19:22Like I remember when we bought our first flat and we were painting the woodwork.
19:27And instead of protecting all the carpets whilst we were painting the skirting boards,
19:33he just slapped on the paint and then said, I'll just get it off the carpets afterwards.
19:37And I was like, why? Why have you done that?
19:40He got sandpaper afterwards and sanded the paint, the dry paint off the carpets.
19:46My DIY is okay. I'm kind of hoping this house will make it better.
19:53Today's plan amongst the list of the growing list of many things to do.
20:00One of them is to jet wash some of the roof tiles.
20:06Some of the tiles are just black and we're hoping that a jet wash might save us a few quid on new tiles.
20:13Nice box fresh hose.
20:15I know my DIY skills. I'll probably cut straight through the middle of it.
20:18I don't have a lot of logic as it's transpiring. So my logic is work out how to get the jet wash working on one of the roof terraces.
20:29Lean over and start jet washing some of the tiles.
20:32Water goes on roof. A does the water clean the tiles. B does the water come through the ceiling.
20:45That's basically it.
20:47Great.
20:49There's always a big decision to be made in the world of jet washing, which not all you choose.
20:54Never really sure the difference.
20:56I've gone for that one. Let's see if it works.
21:03Oh.
21:05Pardon my language.
21:10Oh, there you go. That's actually better.
21:12No, it's not.
21:13I wonder if it's the water pressure.
21:19I'm changing nozzles.
21:21Oh, yeah, that's better. Here we go.
21:27Oh, yeah. I mean, how satisfying is this going to be?
21:31If we don't destroy the tile in the process.
21:36But within minutes of getting going.
21:38How do you say it?
21:39I'm sorry.
21:41It's pouring water up here. Water.
21:45Oh.
21:47Water there?
21:48Yes.
21:49I'm sorry.
21:51Oh, God, that's water upstairs.
21:54Okay, it's good. I'm sorry.
21:55But no, it's just here. It's bad placed here.
21:59It's bad placed.
22:01But you have to remove it.
22:02Yes, yes.
22:04I think that...
22:06I think that...
22:07An actual...
22:08Someone who knows what they're doing is involved.
22:10No, er...
22:11Perfecto.
22:12Gracias, Henri.
22:14I didn't connect the hose properly.
22:16So quite a lot of water was spilling onto the tiles.
22:20And Henri is currently trying to...
22:23Angle grind the grout out from between the tiles.
22:26So he didn't want water up here.
22:28And I was putting water up here.
22:32Gracias.
22:35Disaster averted.
22:37Now there's crack on.
22:42When you see how long it takes to do one tile...
22:46The reality of how many tiles there are on this house...
22:50Suddenly kicks in.
22:52And within a few tiles' time, Henri steps in again.
22:56Okay.
23:03Okay.
23:05Okay.
23:07Okay.
23:09Okay.
23:11What?
23:12What is chemical?
23:13No.
23:15Okay.
23:16Okay.
23:17Okay.
23:18Okay.
23:19Okay.
23:20Okay.
23:21Okay.
23:22Okay.
23:23With this...
23:24Oh no.
23:25After.
23:26Okay.
23:27Okay.
23:28Okay.
23:29Okay.
23:30So I think it's safe to say, I've tested the theory, and whilst the theory is that jet washing works, our local builders suggested cleaning it with chemicals and then jet washing at the end.
23:48So I'm gonna take the advice and leave it for now.
23:54Fairly successful.
23:56Given how many tiles there are on the roof, I'd say I've done about 1 15th, which is typical me.
24:02Don't quite finish the job, so can't wait to get the chemicals and get the roof cleaned up.
24:07Time to move on to something else from Jaz's list.
24:22There's just a week until they plan to move in.
24:25Jasmine's been away presenting an episode of A Place in the Sun, while John's been working through a list of jobs.
24:32Before heading off on a trip of his own, he's squeezing in a task that wasn't necessarily down for this week.
24:40The big job today is to take down the wall that separates the kitchen from the living area, just so that when we're living here, it's a bit more open plan for the kids.
24:49And because my DIY skills are still a bit sketchy, our Spanish builders Henri and Carlos are here to help me, to make sure the ceiling doesn't fall down.
24:59I mean, the worst that could happen today is the ceiling comes down with the wall.
25:06But we have checked with an architect and we do, the bit of the wall we're taking out is not load-bearing.
25:11So in theory, it's fine. You know, in this house of this era in Spain, even the non-load-bearing walls are pretty meaty.
25:18I am very apprehensive. I question everything. Even last night I was driving thinking, God, do we need to take that wall out?
25:28Do we need to take the wall out? We could just keep the window so it's fun for the kids to pass food through.
25:32But I've turned up this morning, they've started to angle-wind the lines.
25:39I need to crack on with this wall and there's a very high chance in our fashion we'll be ships in the night so I may leave and she may come back with a half-knocked-down wall that she has to finish off.
25:50Or she has to sign off. Or she has to cry about, but we'll see.
26:01Let's get on with it. Hammer it down. Jack hammer it out. What can go wrong?
26:07I mean, I've barely ever seen a jackhammer in my life, let alone used one.
26:19When you get jackhammers out, there is no turning back. This is it. There's dust, there's mess. We're in it for the long haul.
26:39It's like breaking through the channel tunnel. I can see the kitchen. There's a hole.
26:54The window is out. Bango's only dreams the kids are passing food through the window.
26:59All I can think about is all the builders watching me thinking, what is this guy doing?
27:22I think I'm not quick enough. I think he's used to working quicker.
27:26Okay then, let's do this. Last PTC of the day.
27:36While John continues having fun, Jasmine's morning is a little more glamorous.
27:41Okay, everyone happy?
27:43And action.
27:45What a fantastic result for my house hunters. I am so thrilled to have been able to help them find their dream place in the sun.
27:53Good?
27:56Yeah, good. It's a wrap!
27:58Woo!
28:01Thank you guys!
28:05Back at the house.
28:08The wall is very nearly down, which is good, but it was, in this heat, much harder work than I was imagining.
28:15It does have a missed call from Dad, so I'm just going to give her a call back.
28:23Come on, surely everyone does this when you're wearing gloves, right?
28:26Use their nose.
28:27Hello.
28:31Hi, all right?
28:32I've just wrapped.
28:34I'm on my way, I'll get there before you leave.
28:37How's it going?
28:38It was the wall through to the bedroom that you wanted knocking down, wasn't it?
28:41What?
28:43It was the wall through to the bedroom that you wanted knocking down.
28:46No, not really.
28:49Just joking.
28:51Anyway.
28:53All right, I'll speak to you later.
28:55Love you.
28:56Bye, love you, bye.
28:58Bye.
29:02It's good.
29:04Mission semi-accomplished.
29:05We started out to knock down the wall and we have made a massive hole in the wall.
29:10It does feel like the renovation has begun.
29:13There's only so many painting walls and cleaning stuff you can do.
29:17For my first ever wall demolition, I enjoyed it.
29:21Not sure I'd want to take it up for a living.
29:23Currently, it doesn't look like it's going to be ready for us to move into in a week.
29:27But in a week, we need to move in.
29:30John's now off on a shoot and won't be back until after they move in.
29:35Goodbye house.
29:36See you when the wall's tidied up.
29:4420 minutes later, Jasmine's back and ready to take hold of the reins.
29:51I was hoping I might catch John before he had to go, but I think we've just missed each other.
29:57He said he's done the awnings. I'm not quite sure what he's done to them.
30:01Tied them up with string and ripped off the fabric.
30:07Maybe not a top priority.
30:10John said he was going to clean these roof tiles.
30:20I hope that's not the finished job.
30:22Because, um, in fact, just that little one sec-
30:29Has he just done that little section?
30:32Even those don't look very clean.
30:33How do I get through?
30:34Can't get in this way.
30:35I'll go, maybe I'll go through the kitchen.
30:36Oh, I don't know if I can get in this way either.
30:37Aha.
30:38Aha.
30:39Oh my word.
30:40That's, that's going to be much better once it's done.
30:44It's going to make such a difference just having more light going through to that kitchen.
30:51Maybe I'll go through the kitchen.
30:52Oh, I don't know if I can get in this way either.
30:53Aha.
30:54oh my word that's that's gonna be much better once it's done it's gonna make
31:11such a difference just having more light going through to that kitchen
31:15definitely no going back now is there I wonder if they need some help to
31:24clear all this up I need some gloves I need to get changed yeah I probably need one of
31:33these hats as well I wonder how many bags this is gonna take
31:49I've done one bag I'm sweating already
31:56with Henri returning from his siesta it seems Jasmine has started cleaning up a touch too soon
32:13there's more wall to remove I seriously don't know how I've been roped into doing this I think he said
32:32that he wants me to do this bottom bit so I'm gonna give it a go
32:36I can't breathe I'm sweating so much there's this is too hard
33:02I'm just gonna stick to picking up the rubble
33:14this house is the first time I've done any sort of demolition of anything when you go in with your
33:26power tools and knock something down it's kind of like therapy you know you could do anger management
33:32courses with demolishing walls
33:34now looking at this just a really lovely spacious room with a nice flow
33:44I think this house has got such a nice energy already I think there's so much we can do to improve it
33:54so it is exciting what I'm most excited about at this stage is just getting it livable and being able
34:06to move in here next week because then I just I feel like I can breathe and I can relax
34:24with just days to go and John away from work Jasmine's on her own but with the help of Carlos
34:31and his team the removal of the kitchen wall is complete and the house is ready for them to move in
34:36allowing Jasmine to shift her focus to the full renovation we've decided to upcycle all the doors
34:44pretty much in the whole house cupboards and room doors because they're quite good doors they're
34:52solid wood doors and it seems massively wasteful to just throw them all away when we could give them
35:00a little makeover and they'll be completely transformed
35:03quite a tricky one to stand because because it's got so many little grooves and ridges and you need
35:20to make sure you get shine off the whole thing
35:35we're a great team me and Carlos we work well together because I can do the high up parts
35:41and he can do the low down parts
35:43right he's leaving me to it now he trusts me so hopefully nothing too bad can go wrong famous last
35:56words the door frames take some effort but down in the basement Carlos has the kit to make light work
36:05of painting the doors I mean we are so lucky to have this space like this where we can actually do all
36:18this messy work without being in the house hopefully quite soon this will be part of the house
36:26that's one side of one door done one coat that's probably about one one hundredth of the work that
36:44needs to be done to get all the doors in the house done so I think I'm going to get quite good at this
36:51and on top of all the physical challenges of a renovation project
36:55the usually pleasant mediterranean climate has been causing some serious disruption
37:00the weather here over the last week has been unbelievable
37:08created by a weather phenomenon that happens roughly every 20 years in spain
37:13it's caused devastation I think they've they had like a year's worth of rain that fell in a few hours
37:20and this is what's outside not much space between the top level of that water
37:38and the level of this window so I'm not really sure what to do
37:42there have been some awful floods in other parts of spain it's been horrific at one point the schools
37:51were closed all of the sort of municipal buildings were closed people were being advised to stay in the house
37:57however the house has survived and the extreme weather passed just in time for the family minus john to move in
38:13it's still a long way from jasmine's end vision but the place has gone from feeling dark and unloved
38:32to being fresh and most importantly habitable no more holiday lets it's finally time to start living
38:40in their own spanish home i am very excited although i was hoping you know we'd have
38:47things a little bit more progress than we do honestly in the month since we bought the house since we
38:54completed it's completely transformed already there is still an absolute shed load of stuff to do
39:05but we can move in and we can live here we might be slightly camping but whatever i mean is this for
39:15the fireplace or for the toilet because it could potentially be the fanciest toilet brush i've ever
39:22seen but i don't think i'm going to keep it john is away in the states so i'm here with the kids
39:31they're busy playing downstairs but i'm basically going to be moving all the last bits in and we'll
39:36be able to start settling and unpacking and hopefully john will be back at some point
39:51albie come
39:54moving in with the children it felt just like being at home straight away you want to help me make
40:03the bed no no no no no no please don't jump on the bed a little pest the kids were no help at all
40:11with making the bed oh it's hard isn't it oh god i'll get you the mattress they were just hyperactive
40:24hysterical
40:38heart and soul of this house is really lovely
40:46with john now on his way back to the costa del sol the lights fading on the first night in their new
40:52spanish home
40:55kids what do you want for dinner
41:00noodles pizza okay my culinary skills are amazing no i mean i'm okay i'm a good cook most of the time

41:36oh i put it put the oven on maximum because i was trying to burn off the new smell
41:43i'm going to blame the oven it was a brand new oven you know it must have been something wrong with it
41:50so why don't i just cut it and you just eat it down to the bit that you want to eat i was so distracted and i
42:05was so disorganized and i had so many things going on in my head

43:23you know just wanting to be in my own house and so it's turned into this really big deal in my head
43:31where i just wanted to get in here and now we're finally in here and i just want to get it nice and
43:36i just wanted i know i know there's so much to do before it will be ready but honestly just even in
43:42this state i'm so happy to finally be in our own house it just feels already like home
