02:48when you become a coach of a bad team there's no patience to see it through and so you have to make

02:56decisions that try to win now when the long-term solution would be better but nobody has patience

03:05for that so we know that at the end of the year if mike mcdaniel is not here anymore and they bring

03:13in a new coach and a new gm that that process is going to take a couple years but if they don't have

03:20success after the first year you're going to want to fire the coach yeah i just don't think that mike

03:25mcdaniel has really shown himself to be a good head coach no i'm this this has nothing to do with

03:31mike mcdaniel the the comments that i'm making right if it's the end of him it's the end of him

03:38right that he earned that but what i'm saying is based on what you see the dolphins doing right now

03:45and the new coach they bring in it's going to take a couple of years yeah right in most cases when this

03:54happens that coach that comes first is not the coach who is the coach when it comes out on the

04:02other comes out on the other side because nobody has patience with that so well that's how he got

04:08the job right so would it be better to keep mike mcdaniel through the terrible year while you fix

04:19everything and then the job becomes more appealing because we've seen a lot of coaches fired after a

04:26year or two knowing the organization knowing was a rebuild i see what you're saying and i get that point

04:32like what like why like if your plan is to tank and you think he stinks uh just just kind of go through

04:38it here's the thing i'm really tired of cutting his press conferences i know but but do you understand

04:43if you bring in another coach that coach will probably only be a coach for a couple years

04:48because you're going to get tired of that too even though even though you know beforehand there's no

04:54way it's press conference it's a rebuild why do you still want to keep this guy it's not he's just

04:59saying like if you know the damage is done why why bring the guy into a bad situation yeah look at mayo

05:05right mayo was there like that's the no but i'm just a mayo was also he was a pain in the ass as

05:13well it wasn't like he was endearing to the organization okay i was at a brian the way

05:17mayo was to the patriots was similar to what people were saying about flores down here in miami okay

05:23because they all got that bill belichick they all got the bill belichick in them right they don't

05:29want this mike mcdaniel because mike mcdaniel is not kevin o'connell uh sean mcveigh right shanahan

05:34he's none of those guys that that energy that came from uh detroit right all that energy you

05:43could see it kind of working its way through the league right with all the coaches that yeah it's

05:49just it's just a type of energy that that in a way these guys do things that kind of starts the

05:57process my thing is is that everybody says you know who you want to be your coach you know who

06:04you want to to do this and be the next coach here you do realize you better pick two coaches

06:10because the first coach ain't gonna make it through the whole reset because y'all gonna hate him

06:16after a year or two i just want to be competitive i don't care that we're losing no it's going to be

06:23a rebuild everybody from the fans to the organization to everybody's gonna have to be

06:30patient with this if you're okay with this this is why i make a big deal about it before yeah because

06:35nobody's ever this patient but like i i guess my point is like first of all this is fourth year like

06:42they've been patient like this has nothing to do with my past but even in past years like

06:47who who hasn't really gotten the time they've deserved well no i'm and i'm not saying i'm not

06:54saying anybody has what i'm saying is is that you're entering a situation where you know you're

07:06probably not going to be good for the next two years based on how you're doing things the resources

07:12that you will have to go get somebody you're basically going to do it through the draft all

07:18these guys going to play if the two thing doesn't work out then after next year you're going to need a

07:23quarterback what i'm saying to you is are we going to be as a fan base are we going to be patient

07:33knowing the bleep show that the organization is in for the next two or three years it depends what

07:40you mean by that like it's like are they going to be patient as far as like are the fans still going

07:44to go to the games now there'll be a lot of empty pockets the apathy will be there and i'll catch it

07:48when you guys are actually looking like you're doing something that's that's right but no no no

07:52everybody wants to go take this this route though right right but i'm saying but usually when people

08:00take this route and i've said this before usually people want to take this route when they don't

08:05like the coach or the quarterback or whatever right but then when you say okay we're really going to go

08:11through the process of rebuilding we're not going to half-ass it we're not going to we are going through

08:16this process through draft picks or whatever how many people are patient to see it through but

08:23if you see success or you start seeing something building you're going to see it through like the

08:29commanders did a whole new regime they had right they needed to get that stench of daniel slider

08:35snyder out right correct correct they got the right gen they got the right ownership they got the right

08:41people they got the right coaches they drafted a quarterback and what happened they had success in

08:47the first year so you if you do if you draft the right people you put the right personnel

08:51you can see early success it's happening in the nfl all the time the only argument that you would have

08:56on yours and we gotta take a break because it's the end of the hour but is if you were worried like

09:01you're gonna it's almost like a college coach like there's a lot of college coaches right now

09:05that are that i'm sure programs that still would like to fire their coach but there's a lot of guys

09:09already fired so like are you gonna get the the best are you gonna get the best guy so if you were

09:15to look at the dolphin situation right now yeah it's a nice place to live but roster wise it's going

09:20to be the worst because like if you say dable gets fired but you get jackson dart you're like oh that's

09:25a pretty good situation if you go to tennessee if you think cam ward's something right it's like hey

09:29you got my i got at least my young quarterback that i can kind of right settle right in there too

09:34with the dolphins it's like oh there's nothing you got you got a really rich owner you got a great city

09:39right but the roster's the worst in the league that's why that's why i say so that i can see

09:44that argument of like hey just keep it until you're in a better spot i can understand that this is going

09:49to be a young new quarterback i mean uh coach because nobody else is gonna want the job would
