00:00Best piece of business advice I ever received was from my mom.
00:02She told us growing up, you've got two ears and one mouth, use them accordingly.
00:08Because in business we're always on send and we don't take enough time to learn, to listen,
00:13to be able to make sure we understand each other.
00:16I always try to do that.
00:17It creates much better relationships and as a result you learn a lot more and that curiosity
00:23really is one of the hallmarks, I believe, of my career.
00:26The worst advice I ever received was a former mentor who told me when I became CEO I needed
00:30to create a unique identity, that people couldn't find me, I was too accessible to it.
00:36He told me I'd never have a moments of peace because I was too public and I thanked him
00:41for that and I did not do that.
00:42I love the fact that people can reach me, ed.bastian.delta.com, I only have one email, I only have one phone.
00:48As a result of that I'm always in touch with our people, our customer, our community and
00:53that allows me to make certain I'm doing the very best to serve everybody.
00:56All right.
00:58Thank you for listening to my lecture.
01:01And I'm going to Rachel Dawson.
