00:00Thank you
00:30Hello and welcome to Sports Scene.
00:41Three games took place today involving the top, middle and bottom of the Premiership.
00:46Neil McCann joins me as a former player of both teams,
00:48featured in our first game as League Leader's Hearts.
00:51Welcomed another ex-player, Stephen Presley, and his Dundee side to Tynecastle.
00:55After Wednesday's exploits, Hearts are back at Tynecastle
01:02with a chance to go nine points clear in the Premiership for the first time this season.
01:08In their way, Stan Dundee, who are looking for consecutive top flight wins at Tynecastle
01:14for the first time in 27 years.
01:17They have turned up against the big teams this season, but this might be their toughest test.
01:22Having picked the same starting line-up for six games in a row,
01:26Derek McInnes makes three changes.
01:28In form, top scorer Claudio Braga drops to the bench alongside Craig Halkett and Stephen Kingsley.
01:33In come Michael Steinvender and Pierre Landry-Cobori,
01:36who make just their second starts of the league season,
01:39alongside Blair Spittel, who makes a first start since August.
01:43Former Hearts captain and one-time caretaker boss Stephen Presley
01:46makes just one Dundee change following last Saturday's defeat at Falkirk.
01:50Billy Cumetio comes into defence with Luke Graham dropping to the bench.
01:54On Lone Hearts playmaker Jan Danda is missing as he's unable to face his parent club.
01:59Kibori chasing in there, dealt with just about by Ryan Astley.
02:13Mill gets Westley, ships it on to Spittel and gets it back.
02:18That's a lovely touch from Mill on his right foot, goes for goal and just drags it wide.
02:23The first shot of the afternoon, comes to the heart's left back who has been playing right wing in recent weeks.
02:30Found himself high up the pitch this time, but the ball on his weaker foot and he could only drag it wide.
02:36Hamilton trying the long diagonal to Congreve, up against McEntee.
02:49He's done well to skip inside, Congreve, and now he goes for goal, it's deflected!
02:53And Shvalov has to make the save!
02:5529 minutes gone, Dundee's first effort at goal.
02:59I think it took a deflection on the way through, in fact, it wasn't a save, it comes off the outside of the post.
03:05Dead one, to Spittel.
03:11There's Harry Mill, bombing forward again, pulls it back to Shankland this time, on the left, it goes for goal!
03:19Lawrence Shankland puts Hearts in front!
03:25Just at the moment they needed something, a bit of quality up top, Lawrence Shankland yet again provides!
03:32That is what the captain does, wears the weight of the responsibility on his shoulders.
03:40He looked unburdened there, unmarked, and with his left foot, his weaker foot, finds the bottom corner,
03:51and there was nothing John McCracken could do!
03:54A tenth of the season for Shankland!
03:57And he puts Hearts 1-0 up!
04:06Milne striding forward now.
04:09Beningamy goes down, Milne still going though, tries to get the shot away, Clark Robertson blocks.
04:14Andre Kabori was in there as well.
04:16Can they find a second before the break? We are starting to approach half-time.
04:27Milne, with the outswinger, McIntyre knocks down, can drop to Kabori!
04:30He thought he had the winner on Wednesday night against Sid Meirin.
04:36It was cruelly chopped off for offside.
04:39This time, he strikes from close range again.
04:43I don't think there will be too much doubt about it.
04:46The header from McIntyre drops to Kabori, and on the swivel, he puts it in for his first goal in Maroon.
04:53And in doing so, he doubles Hearts' advantage over Dundee.
04:58They're now 2-0 ahead, and Dundee haven't offered much threat.
05:12There's the ball through to Harry Mill.
05:14Can Hearts find a third before the break?
05:17McCracken gets a touch, there was no one at the back post.
05:20The chant's not quite gone yet, Kabori.
05:23Plays it back to McIntyre, he wins the throw.
05:29There's a dangerous ball in it.
05:31If Milne could have found Shankland at the front post, it might have been a better option.
05:47Shankland to Kizaridis.
05:49Gets it across to Spitalou, hits!
05:51Brilliant save, McCracken, it comes back to Kabori!
05:54And that's 3-0.
05:57A double for Pierre-Landry Kabori.
06:00He's had to wait a long time to get another start, but he's taken his chance with aplomb.
06:07And Claudio Braga, the man they love so much around these parts, might have a job on his hands getting back into the team.
06:13Initially it was a great save from John McCracken, tipping that on to the crossbar, after Spital tried to pick out the top corner.
06:23Kabori reacting quickest.
06:26And that makes it 3-0 to Hearts, and surely all three points are secured.
06:30And that means they're going nine clear at the top.
06:33Gugani almost loses that to Spitalou with his first touch of the ball.
06:44Over the top for Simon Murray.
06:47Still going through.
06:48Steinwender trying to stop him, but Murray's rolled at home.
06:51But the offside flag belatedly goes up.
06:56It was just one long simple ball forward.
06:59I think he is offside, looking at that first angle.
07:04Took the goal well, though Steinwender did his best to try and put him off.
07:09Just rolled it into the corner.
07:13Yeah, a good few yards off there.
07:15Kingsley.
07:23Kingsley.
07:24Kingsley.
07:25Kingsley.
07:25Kingsley.
07:27Kingsley.
07:27Kingsley.
07:28Kingsley.
07:29Kingsley.
07:30Kingsley.
07:31Kingsley.
07:32Kingsley.
07:33Kingsley.
07:34Kingsley.
07:35Kingsley.
07:36Kingsley.
07:37Kingsley.
07:38Kingsley.
07:39Kingsley.
07:40Kingsley.
07:41Kingsley.
07:42Kingsley.
07:43Kingsley.
07:44Kingsley.
07:44Kingsley.
07:44Kingsley.
07:44Kingsley.
07:44Kingsley.
07:45A late challenge from Hamilton, and that will be a free kick.
07:49Scything down Lawrence Shanklin, that looked a sore one.
07:55It's Kazuridis over! The wall and McCracken over the bar.
08:00I don't know how close that was to the corner from Alexandros Kazuridis.
08:04Not particularly, but he still worked McCracken.
08:09And his hearts look for a fourth.
08:11Looked to the front post, it's bouncing around, it's gone in!
08:16I'm not sure this one will stand.
08:19The Dundee players are appealing for an offside,
08:22but Thomas Magnussen's away celebrating.
08:25I'm sure the VAR will have a look at this one,
08:27it was a scrappy goal if it was a goal.
08:30I think that might already be over the line by the time Stuart Finlay hits that.
08:35Is he getting in the way of the goalkeeper?
08:38Or has Thomas Magnussen done enough for him?
08:41To get his first goal in Maroon.
08:43This is an interesting one for the VAR.
08:45Is that over the line?
08:47The goal is given.
08:51Thomas Magnussen opens his heart to counts.
08:54I don't think he knew all that much about it really, but that makes it 4-0.
08:58Braga.
09:03Lovely footwork.
09:04Picks out Cabango on the edge of the box, he slips, but it could come to Braga!
09:08McCracken makes the save.
09:10It almost dropped perfectly for Claudio Braga.
09:14What a way that would have been to cap off a fantastic day for Hearts at Tynecastle.
09:22Hearts secure another victory.
09:2429 points after 11 games.
09:28The first round of fixtures done.
09:30And they have laid waste to almost this entire division.
09:35It finishes at Tynecastle.
09:37Hearts 4, Dundee 0.
09:39Look, most good teams, once you get in front, I thought the result looked quite comfortable from then on in.
09:46It obviously gives Dundee a wee bit of dilemma, especially when we get the second goal for Cabore.
09:52They've got to then try and come out a wee bit.
09:55And I thought we were good.
09:57The start of the second half was exactly what I was looking for.
10:00To stay on the job, a 4-0 victory, you know, you've got to enjoy that.
10:04Although we hadn't given them too many problems, I thought we acquitted ourselves reasonably well for the first 30 minutes of the game.
10:10But then we lost a really poor first goal.
10:13And then we lost a second goal from a set play.
10:16And going into today's game, we're the only side in the league not to concede from corners.
10:20And today we conceded twice from corners.
10:23So that's bitterly disappointing.
10:24Because we pride ourselves on our organisation around those factors.
10:28And when you come to a stadium like this, when you play against a team as in form, Hearts are.
10:34You just can't lose goals like that.
10:37Hearts outstanding again as they go nine clear at the top of the Premiership tonight.
10:42They are loving life right now at Tyne Castle, Neil.
10:45And rightly so.
10:46I just think they've got a brilliant thing going, Tomo.
10:49A lot of people are looking as if the bubble had burst at St Mirren.
10:52But getting a draw isn't such a bad result, but it was how they pushed to try and get a win.
10:57And I think there's a freedom about the squad.
11:00There's a bravery about the manager to actually push bodies forward.
11:03Freshened it up today.
11:04Three big players stepping out.
11:06But not only did they freshen it up in terms of the personnel,
11:10he changed positions about, which was really interesting.
11:13He did well with Harry Milne being one of them.
11:15He has been playing on the right, started on the left today.
11:18Excellent performance.
11:19Well, Kazaridis, who's been excellent on the left, goes to the right.
11:22Spittle comes into the team, plays off the left.
11:24He come in on that side and free up Harry Milne.
11:26So it was like a different position for Harry to play.
11:30But as you see with some of these clips, there's such a confidence about the boy
11:34that he's actually getting himself into high areas, shooting positions.
11:37It's not a brilliant strike on his right foot.
11:39Yeah.
11:40But it was a different type of delivery than Dundee had to face.
11:43Because normally if Kazaridis is coming on that right side, it's an inswinger.
11:46But you're getting outswingers now.
11:48You're getting a guy.
11:49It's naturally built to get on the outside of a fullback.
11:52This is brilliant.
11:54And I'm going to just highlight it in the next clip.
11:56It's a brilliant pick out.
11:57It's a vision.
11:58Excellent.
11:59And a typically magic finish from Lauren Shanklin, who's just a different player.
12:03Dreyreich is attracted into Blair Spittle there.
12:05He's got to hold his position.
12:07Yeah.
12:08He breaks rank.
12:09It creates the space.
12:10But he still has to have the awareness, Harry Milne, to pick out Lauren Shanklin.
12:13He knows that Dundee, all the back line are going to drop.
12:16So he just switches his brain on.
12:18He comes short and it's a terrific finish.
12:20But all day, well for the amount of time that he was on the pitch,
12:23he just looked as if he's really enjoying his football.
12:26And I have to say, for that boy to come into the team,
12:28when James Penrice made such an impact last season.
12:32Yeah, big boots to Phil.
12:33Well, I think he's made them forgettable about him now.
12:36I know he's been operating on the right, but he's just so comfortable.
12:39Again, brilliant for Kabori.
12:41A quite outrageous manager celebration, though,
12:44that I'm sure his teammates are going to hammer for when he gets into the dressing room.
12:47It's a straight red.
12:48Yeah.
12:49But again, it was just a wonderful performance today.
12:51Well, as you mentioned Kabori there, he's had to be patient in terms of game time,
12:57coming off the bench.
12:58And obviously Derek's picked the same start in 11 for the last six games,
13:01and Braga being up front.
13:03But he got his opportunity today and took it.
13:05Completely different type of player for me.
13:08But again, Dundee are majorly at fault here.
13:11Look at the twos.
13:12As if they're joined to each other, the left side, the right side,
13:14but nobody's covering the middle of the pitch.
13:16Now, they're very structured Dundee.
13:18Shanks has come off.
13:19Long Shanks has come off.
13:20He's bounced it.
13:21He's looked about.
13:22Nobody's still picking me up.
13:23There's still a big gap there.
13:24I'll pick it up, and I'll feed a little pass.
13:26And if you see the next clip here, you can see how structured Dundee are.
13:29There's a nice five there, a nice four.
13:31Now, you know that five's not going to break ranks, so they're going to drop.
13:33So there's four hearts jerseys just operating in the little channel here.
13:37Congreve doesn't pick up.
13:39He doesn't work back.
13:40Comes to Blair Spital, a quite outstanding save.
13:42It was.
13:43But Kabori's on it in a shot.
13:44And that just shows you the type of brain that a striker has.
13:48He's always on the front foot.
13:50You maybe had one of them yourself, Tomo.
13:51No, no.
13:52Versus a defender who's maybe a bit flat-footed.
13:54But, again, it was just picking holes in Dundee all day to day at Hearts.
13:58Magnussen wrapped things up.
14:00Although, Finlay tried his best to spoil it, let's be honest.
14:02Again, that's a shameful effort.
14:04They're stealing a goal.
14:05I've ever seen one.
14:06And actually, when he realised that he could be offside,
14:09he's desperate that this ball is over the line.
14:11And it's a good spot.
14:12Again, it's a different delivery because Milne was taking him from that side,
14:15so it's outswinger.
14:17Cazaredes is an inswinger.
14:18That little man Braga getting across the front post.
14:20A nice little flick.
14:21Magnussen's falling in.
14:22I mean, it's not a pretty goal, but every goal is important.
14:25And to get four goals today against a Dundee team who have been inconsistent
14:29but a couple of big results, it's just brilliant for the team.
14:32It doesn't get any easier for Dundee either.
14:33They play Rangers next.
14:35Livy take on Hebs now with David Martindale looking for a first victory since the 9th of August.
14:43It's the third meeting between these two sides this season.
14:46Hebs won the first two with an aggregate score of 6-0.
14:49That's why the Hebs fans come here with great hope.
14:51David Martindale hopes to turn around that series of results.
14:55To do so, he's made a couple of changes bringing in Mohamedou Sosoho and Lewis Smith in place of Macaulay Tate and Robert Muirhead.
15:05In midweek, Hebs lost at home to Rangers.
15:07There are three changes from that team with Miguel Chaiwa, Martin Boyle and Jordan Obita coming in for Kieran Bowie, Nicky Carden and Chris Carden.
15:20Hebs know they could go clear in third place if they win today.
15:24An early touch for the goalkeeper, Raphael Salinger.
15:29Good early pressure from Hebs as Bashiri stabs it forward.
15:37Nice little flick on knee as a chance for Jamie McGrath.
15:40Well, goodness me, that's how to begin a football match.
15:4320 seconds on the clock and Hebs already a go to the good.
15:49And I'm not sure whether Jamie McGrath will ever hit a ball more sweetly than this.
15:55Cleegee with a nice layoff and that is a superb effort from Jamie McGrath in the opening seconds of this match, which is going to stun Livy.
16:06No chance for the goalkeeper.
16:08What a start for Hebs.
16:10Inside the first minute, there a goal ahead.
16:13Work to do already for the Livy boss.
16:16Well, after that poor start, Livingston have settled into this match a wee bit now.
16:24They'll try to apply some pressure onto that Hebs rear guard.
16:27Jeremy Bakila is in air with Grant Hanley.
16:29It might come to Scott Pittman.
16:31The Livy Lions roar back.
16:33Or do they?
16:34Pittman's not happy.
16:36Will this goal stand?
16:38Is it for a foul there from Bakila on Hanley?
16:43I think so.
16:44This is going to be ruled out.
16:47Frustration then for Livingston, but they've started to play better.
16:53Chance here now for Joshua Brunette to come forward.
16:56He's got acres of space here.
16:58There's Pittman.
17:00Pittman now into Bakila.
17:02Living a level.
17:04And that is a beautiful goal.
17:07Super finish from Jeremy Bakila.
17:10But that started right at the other end of the pitch.
17:13And I think they're worthy of that equalizer, Livingston.
17:17Super football from them, particularly from Brunette, who's come forward from right back.
17:23Loads of space.
17:24Intelligent play from Pittman.
17:26And this is a lovely finish from Bakila.
17:28Four for the season for him.
17:30Livingston have an equalizer.
17:33And it is very much game on at Armand Vale.
17:37Hibs will ask questions about how easily Livingston came forward here.
17:42No question, no, about the finish.
17:51This is a bit scrappy at the start of the second half.
17:54Can Hibs come forward here?
17:55Miguel Chayla showing great strength there.
17:58It's a better start to the second half from Hibs.
18:01Chayla's still going.
18:02He's not going to give it up.
18:03Another real chance for Hibs.
18:05Mulligan there.
18:06Comes to Martin Boyle.
18:07Ahead again in the match.
18:10Boyle restored to the team.
18:12Back in the starting eleven and back amongst the goals.
18:15No wonder the Hibs fans celebrate.
18:20Twice they've stung Livingston at the beginning of each half.
18:24And this has a lot to do with the determination of Chayla.
18:27Intelligent from Mulligan.
18:29Beautiful finish.
18:30And a great turn there from Martin Boyle.
18:32Have a look at his first touch when he gets this ball.
18:35Really smart play.
18:37Excellent finish.
18:38And Hibs ahead again.
18:41Livingston can't keep Hibs at bay.
18:43And once again they find themselves chasing the football match.
18:50Much better from Hibs in this second period.
18:53Livingston penned back a lot of the time.
18:55Boyle on the ball once again.
18:57Who can he find?
18:58Great chance here for the substitute Junior Hoyland.
19:01Well, he likes a goal against Livingston but Junior Hoyland.
19:05And he should really do better here.
19:06Easy save in the end for Jerome Pryor.
19:12Credit to Livingston.
19:13They're not giving this up.
19:16Hibs though.
19:17Pressing for a third.
19:20Junior Hoyland has made a good impact since coming on.
19:24What can Hoyland deliver here?
19:27Instead comes back to Barlazar.
19:29Intelligent ball.
19:30Chance here for Hibs with a little mulligan.
19:31Just can't quite get on the end of that.
19:33And that's why he's holding his head.
19:36Chance here for Hibs.
19:37Just inches in it.
19:40Yet more Hibs pressure.
19:42Livingston can't get out of their own half at the moment.
19:49Chance for another delivery into the box.
19:51Here's Kieran Bowie for Hibs.
19:52Is this the third?
19:53It is the third for Hibs.
19:54It is the third for Hibs.
19:55That wraps up all the points.
19:57Unless...
19:59The linesman flags for offside, of course.
20:02Well, this looked extremely tight to me.
20:04Oh, goodness me.
20:05That's a matter of inches.
20:07Interesting to see where they draw the lines here.
20:09Great finish from Bowie.
20:10VAR, of course, will check.
20:13Bowie waits.
20:14Offside is given.
20:16Wow, that's close.
20:22Is there some late drama here?
20:24From a Livingston point of view.
20:25Some defending to do.
20:26The chancy for Andrew Shinny.
20:27Teddy Yang is surely on the legs of the goalkeeper Salinger.
20:31Well, Hibs managed to keep that out.
20:33And Livingston should have scored there.
20:36Chances still there.
20:39Ball's still alive.
20:40David Gray telling his team to calm down in little wonder.
20:43There's some late pressure coming from his team.
20:48Another Livingston corner.
20:50Oh, now, is that a handball?
20:52Well, Livingston are appealing.
20:54The header from Finlayson, I think it was.
20:57Now, Dan Finlayson's header here seems to come off the arm of Nicky Cadden.
21:05That's why the referee's been invited to take a look.
21:09That looks like handball to me.
21:12Do VAR agree?
21:15The decision is...
21:17Penalty to Livingston.
21:21Goodness me.
21:22We are in stoppage time.
21:24And Livingston have a great chance to equalise.
21:27Graham Carey scores for Livingston.
21:31Yet another equaliser.
21:33It's his first goal of the season.
21:34And he's timed it pretty tidily.
21:35Especially for that man there.
21:36No wonder David Martindale's happy.
21:37You can't begrudge Livingston this leveller.
21:38Beautiful penalty.
21:39No chance for the goalkeeper.
21:40This is how you take them.
21:41Drama here at Almond Vale.
21:42And the final whistle have gone to the astonishment of the Hibs players.
21:49They thought there was more time coming.
21:51But referee Callum Scott has seen enough.
21:52It's a valuable point for Livingston.
21:53Thanks to that man there.
21:54David Gray though, I wonder if he's asking, should more time have been played at the end?
21:58I think it would have been very, very easy for the players to feel sorry for themselves in terms of how the game started.
22:05Obviously there's a moment we can deal with a wee bit better.
22:07But it's a good strike.
22:08It hits the inside of the post.
22:09So there's nothing anyone can do.
22:10There's nothing anyone can do.
22:11And the final whistle have gone to the astonishment of the Hibs players.
22:13They thought there was more time coming.
22:14But referee Callum Scott has seen enough.
22:15It's a valuable point for Livingston.
22:16Thanks to that man there.
22:17David Gray though, I wonder if he's asking, should more time have been played at the end?
22:19I think it would have been very, very easy for the players to feel sorry for themselves in terms of how the game started.
22:22Obviously there's a moment we can deal with a wee bit better.
22:24But it's quite a, it's a good strike.
22:28We didn't really do at that point.
22:30I mean I thought it would have been easy for the players to feel sorry for themselves.
22:34They never.
22:35I thought we were, honestly, I thought we were really, really good in the first half.
22:38Very good.
22:39Deserved to come in, win each.
22:42If I strip it right back and look at it, did we really do enough to win the game today?
22:46And were we good enough for me to sit here and complain about decisions or whatever that looks like?
22:49I don't think we were.
22:50So I think it's very mixed on how I'm feeling on that one.
22:53You see the players, they're pressing, they're working, they're really hungry.
22:56They want to win games of football.
22:58Sometimes at this level that goes against you and it's went against us in previous games.
23:02So I pulled Josh over.
23:04I said to him if this penalty goes in, make sure the structure behind the game's okay.
23:08Because if our Knicks thought, I reckon, would have been let's go and try and win the game.
23:12And where we are, I think we've just got to manage the game a wee bit better.
23:16But I think the ref helped me out there and I think they could.
23:18I think that's why Davies probably a wee bit aggrieved.
23:20It was about a minute short or something like that.
23:22The game was stopped.
23:23It was a corner.
23:24The game was then stopped for a check on BER.
23:26The board goes up for four minutes.
23:27So as far as I'm concerned, the game's not restarted.
23:29So once the game starts again, we've got four minutes to play.
23:32A minimum.
23:33Because it's always a minimum of four minutes to play.
23:34And then the game restarts with a penalty.
23:36Because that's when the game restarts.
23:37No problem.
23:38Four minutes for them when the ball hits the net.
23:39And I don't think we play four minutes with an opportunity to maybe throw it in the box.
23:43To maybe then go and nick something.
23:44But that's all hindsight.
23:45If I'm being honest, we've never done enough to win the game today.
23:48And I'm more concerned about that than standing here moaning about officials.
23:51Even though I've just spoke about them.
23:53You certainly have, David.
23:55An injury time penalty against Livy.
23:57A valuable point, Neil.
23:58For Heberian.
23:59There's good starts.
24:00And they're scoring after 20 seconds.
24:02Well, I mean, I love the old school kick-offs now.
24:06They're just smashing it.
24:07Either right into the box of the opposition.
24:09Up for a throw and press them.
24:11They try it here from the goalkeeper.
24:13They load it forward.
24:14It comes back.
24:15The second phase, when it comes back out.
24:17But Rocky Bashiri just decides, no, it's going back in.
24:20Now, he's kicking it in.
24:21And this is where Davey Martindale might be a little bit disappointed.
24:24He's kicking it into Cleegee.
24:25Up against somebody who's maybe got a right few inches in height on him.
24:30You'd expect him to win.
24:31Particularly because he's coming to the ball.
24:32But I have to say, Tomo, this is a brilliant header.
24:36Now, he's diminutive in size, but he's a handful.
24:39Look at that little cushion header.
24:40Make no mistake about it.
24:41That's deliberate.
24:42And it's a brilliant finish.
24:43I know you're pointing and the camera can't see you right now.
24:46You're giving me pelters off your shot there.
24:48But I think that's completely deliberate.
24:49I don't think he means it.
24:50But if he does, it's a brilliant header.
24:52There's no doubt about that, Neil.
24:53And he was brilliant, actually, today.
24:55Cleegee Asmer both the front two.
24:56Bekele, he got Livy back into the game in 37 minutes.
24:59And David Martindale was right.
25:00Livy could have crumbled going 1-0 down.
25:02But they showed a lot of character to come back into the game here.
25:05They did.
25:06And by the way, this is a brilliant goal.
25:08And I know David will probably text me later on and say I missed a couple of passes out on this move.
25:11Because I think this is the ninth touch, unopposed, before that finds a net, Bekele.
25:16Beautiful finish.
25:17Really nice side foot, cultured finish.
25:20But the move's excellent.
25:21But there's a crucial part in it.
25:23Look at Barlasa there.
25:24He sort of should stay with Pittman.
25:26He gets attracted to the ball.
25:28Pittman's really disciplined.
25:29He stays wide because he knows the space is there.
25:31Hoping to be found.
25:32And when Bekele's going out of the box, look how quick he regains his composure.
25:36Gets back on his feet and strokes it away.
25:38I just wonder whether Jack Airedale just slowed his stride.
25:41And if he'd have gone full pelt, he might have stopped it.
25:43But a quite brilliant football goal from Livingston.
25:45Martin Boyle, if he meant this touch, the guy's a genius.
25:49What do you think?
25:50Well, if he has, it's going to sit in there beside their camps, isn't it?
25:53I was going to say that, yeah.
25:54Listen, I'm going to say it.
25:56It's deliberate.
25:57When it's broken up here, Josh Mulligan continues to follow it.
26:02He just sort of amble and then he realised, I've got a half yard.
26:04But look at Martin Boyle.
26:05Look at the space he's got.
26:06Nobody near him.
26:07Now, Livingston have burst their shape a little bit because they get caught on the break.
26:12And when Mulligan eventually arrives in the box, Boyle's free.
26:15He actually fizzes at him.
26:16It's not a really soft pass where Martin Boyle can take a nice feathery touch.
26:21It's wrapped at him.
26:22But his touch is so good.
26:24He's on the spin.
26:25I'm going to absolutely give him the benefit of the doubt here that it is deliberate.
26:29And then it's a cute little finish.
26:30Just spins on it.
26:31Just smashes it low and hard.
26:33And I mean, from that point, he's probably thinking, right, I've just got Hibs three points.
26:38You're not having that one either.
26:40Maybe I'll give him it.
26:43I'll give him it.
26:44Strikers Union.
26:45Now, Hibs got a goal chopped off for us offside.
26:48Yeah.
26:49This is an incredibly tight decision.
26:51And then shortly after, Livy go up into injury time and score themselves.
26:56Great late drama.
26:57Yeah, it very much is.
27:00Big Kieran Bowie.
27:01I mean, this is a whisker offside.
27:04And you can see a shot like right across the pitch.
27:07He might be just leaning.
27:09It's a real, real big decision.
27:11Weird though, because from that angle there, it looks on.
27:14It looks slightly on.
27:15It looks slightly on, but when you see a still and you see the lines all drawn in,
27:18it looks maybe his left shoulder just dipping.
27:20So, you know, you've got to give them the place.
27:23There's not a lot of light between the two colours there.
27:26They've called it offside and it was pivotal because when the ball's slung into the box here,
27:30when we're looking at this almost as the camera's angle there,
27:32it doesn't look much because his hand looks right down at his side.
27:36You get a little angle from behind and his arm is away from the body.
27:40And I think it is the correct decision.
27:41This is the angle here you'll see.
27:42It's quite away from the body cad.
27:44And look, it's up and it's away.
27:46And you can absolutely understand why it's been given with the VR.
27:50I think VR trying to not give as many penalties away in those situations with handballs.
27:56In that case, you know, I don't think there were left too many options.
27:58No, I don't think you can argue there.
28:00And Graeme Carey's got a wonderful left foot.
28:02He's actually telling the keeper where he's putting it,
28:04but it's struck with such precision, brilliant height, great power,
28:08and it's a well-deserved point, you have to say, for Livingston.
28:11There's still no one in nine for Livy, though.
28:13No.
28:14Do you feel on the performance of today and some of the other performances that it's coming soon?
28:18Look, I would say the real refreshing nature of David Martindale's post-match is that they're always honest.
28:24And I think he believes there's something within the group.
28:26They've just come up to the division.
28:27I know Falkirk are flying, but they're just breathing in one lap of games now.
28:31I think he'd be reasonably pleased.
28:32Yes, he wants wins, but he's confident in his group's going to get there.
28:36Well, both Falkirk and Kelly lost midweek, and today they met in the Premiership for the first time in 15 years.
28:43It's seventh meets eighth at the Falkirk Stadium as both Falkirk and Kilmarnock try to put disappointment in midweek to one side
28:50and get both of their campaigns back on track.
28:53Falkirk looking to pick up on that home win they had last time out here at the Falkirk Stadium,
28:59and for John McGlynn it's four changes he's made to the side that started in that 4-0 loss to Celtic
29:04as Cartwright, Wilson, McKeever and Williams all come in from the start.
29:08For Stuart Kettlewell it's three changes to the side that lost 1-0 to Aberdeen
29:12as Rody McKenzie, Scott Tiffany and Bruce Anderson come in from the start.
29:21Falkirk looking even more lively in the early stages of this one as it comes to Miller.
29:28Miller just waits for the option, he's got it through to Williams, who's around the goalkeeper,
29:34and he steers it home, but the flag has gone up.
29:38Disappointment in the end for Ethan Williams, who thought he'd scored his first of the season there,
29:45and put John McGlynn's side ahead, but the offside flag's against him.
29:50Let's have a look here.
29:52Oh, now that's tight.
29:54That is tight.
29:56It's a great ball from Calvin Minna.
30:01Just delays and delays and then just feeds it through, takes the killy defence out.
30:06It's a smart finish from Williams as well.
30:08John Beaton in the VAR room makes his decision and the goal is given.
30:12Ethan Williams does have his first of the season and Falkirk do have their first of the afternoon.
30:23It's great play from Miller initially and there's the decision from VAR.
30:29Williams just holds his run and he gets round the goalkeeper and slides it home.
30:41Hooked up the left wing.
30:45That's come to Wilson who's found Miller.
30:48Now to McKeever.
30:50He's got a wee bit of room in front of him.
30:51Goes for goal!
30:52And it's flashed wide of the post from Ross McKeever.
30:57Three goals to his name this season already.
30:59Just saw a wee bit of a gap opening up in front of him.
31:02Couldn't steer it on target.
31:08Now it's Lusa.
31:10He's got Williams, the goalscorer, with him.
31:13Too many bodies in front of him though.
31:15Goes back out wide left to Lusa.
31:17Gets a ball in, punched away by the goalkeeper.
31:20And hooked away by Watson then.
31:22Only half away though, Henderson there.
31:25It's come now to Wilson.
31:28Wilson gets a shot away.
31:29Oh, it's saved for McKeever's there!
31:31And he's tucked it in.
31:35Had a chance fly wide of the post mere minutes ago.
31:40But Ross McKeever does have his fourth of the season.
31:43And he's put John McGlynn's side two to the good.
31:46I have to say, goalkeeper should probably be doing better there,
31:51pushing it out wider from the effort from Wilson.
31:54From the effort from Williams.
31:56But McKeever has the presence of mind to be there.
32:02Falkirk just growing and growing in confidence.
32:04Here comes Adams, he's past Thompson.
32:06Adams scores alone!
32:08And it's high and wide.
32:11From Keelan Adams.
32:13Did all the hard work in getting past Dom Thompson.
32:16But just couldn't find the finish to match.
32:19Bain goes long.
32:23Flicked on by Graham, the substitute.
32:25Now it's come to Williams, who feeds it in to Calvin Miller!
32:28Falkirk, three to the good inside.
32:3340 minutes of this one.
32:35A fine finish from Calvin Miller.
32:39Who's been a thorn in the side of the Kilmarnock defence all afternoon.
32:45It's a great flick on from Graham.
32:49That's a well-weighted ball from Williams.
32:51And the finish from Miller is fantastic.
32:53I think it might go through the goalkeeper's legs in the end.
32:57It does!
32:59What a 45 minutes this has been for Falkirk after that disappointment in mid-week against Celtic.
33:07Not done yet, though, as he goes to goal!
33:09Williams!
33:10But it's saved and then cleared in the end.
33:13It's saved and then cleared in the end.
33:17Ethan Williams, again, with a dangerous effort.
33:25Thompson with the corner.
33:27Can Killy find something here?
33:29It's headed high, and Bain's missed out!
33:32And Dees is there to nod home!
33:34But the referee, David Dickerson, is blown for a foul on the Falkirk goalkeeper.
33:40Robbie Dees protests his innocence as Scott Bain is in a heap on the floor still.
33:45It's a good delivery from Thompson.
33:48Now, does Dees impede the progress of Scott Bain here?
33:54It does, in the opinion of the referee.
34:02Oh, now, Falkirk have lost it.
34:04Killy have numbers here.
34:06Tiffany.
34:08Out wide again.
34:09Oh, and the effort comes in!
34:10That's a good save!
34:11From Scott Bain.
34:12Tyrese John-Jules having not long come off the bench.
34:16With a decent effort here.
34:18Had to be smart, Bain, down to his right-hand side.
34:21Ball floated in.
34:23Headed away, though.
34:25It's dangerous there.
34:27Oh, now it's come to Dees!
34:29Oh, what a save that is from Scott Bain!
34:31A strong left glove to push it out wide.
34:39Adams goes driving into the Killy half, but he's had his pocket picked by Tom Thompson.
34:44He's on a marauding run down the left-hand side here.
34:48It's Tom Thompson!
34:49It's down low, and it's safe in the gloves of Scott Bain.
34:56Did well here, Thompson.
34:59To retrieve the ball, and then just uses, drives into that empty space.
35:04He had options.
35:06But chose to go alone.
35:08I think they've been playing some decent stuff in the second half.
35:15Oh, and the ball's been played through now to Anderson.
35:18Questions of offside, but Bruce Anderson will stick it into the back of the net.
35:22And now the flag does go up.
35:26It doesn't seem like Bruce Anderson has too many arguments against the decision.
35:32It's a wonderfully weighted ball, but it does seem like Anderson does go a wee bit early.
35:37It's a good finish, mind.
35:42Has to stick it in between the sticks just in case.
35:47And the decision is there will be no goal.
35:51Killy yet to get off the mark.
35:59Well done to Watson now.
36:02He finds Tiffany on the wide right.
36:04Tiffany with a fizzing ball in.
36:05And it's John Jules.
36:08Killy do have one back.
36:10And what a finish that is from Tyrese John Jules.
36:16It's his first for the club.
36:20And what a time to get it as well.
36:22It's a great delivery from Tiffany.
36:24And the presence of mind from John Jules to turn and finish is superb.
36:29We deserve to be here.
36:32We're going to show you that we deserve to be here.
36:34And that's exactly what we're doing.
36:36And I couldn't be any more prouder of the players.
36:38The players were different class today.
36:40And it have been.
36:42You know, we've had a hard game in mid-week.
36:45And we came out the other day and our energy levels were different class.
36:48And that's what we needed.
36:49In that first 45 minutes, I'm struggling to think of one occasion where a Kilmarnock player came out on top against a Falkirk player.
36:56And that was in and out of possession both ways.
36:59We were unable to pass the ball properly.
37:01We were unable to secure the ball, which gives up opportunities for a good team to keep coming back at you.
37:05And then when we were backed up in a corner, our defensive organisation really was poor.
37:12It really was poor.
37:13And again, I have to take full responsibility for that.
37:17Four straight defeats for Kilmarnock.
37:19And the damage was done in the first half, to be honest, Neil, with Calvin Miller very heavily involved in that.
37:24Again, in the first half, Stuart will be really disappointed in how his teams are starting games.
37:29But I thought Calvin Miller was brilliant today.
37:31Generally, you see him off the left.
37:33I can play off the right as well, coming in his left foot.
37:36But playing in the number 10 with Wilson on one side and Williams on the other,
37:39he's got a bit of creativity about him.
37:41A really lovely left foot.
37:43This amount of space that he's afforded here.
37:46He just walks in there and finds that lovely little reverse pass.
37:49A great goal, that.
37:50It's just far too much.
37:51Yeah, it's a great goal.
37:52Williams times he's run so well.
37:55He just runs off of Brennan.
37:56Brennan puts the brakes on.
37:57You can see how tight a decision.
37:59But he still has the composure to ground the goalkeeper.
38:01And it's a great finish.
38:02But again, the back four.
38:03Look, they're under so much pressure.
38:05Miller's up on the seconds.
38:07Robbs Dom Thomas.
38:08He's in again.
38:09This time, the keeper makes a comfortable save.
38:11But again, it's the freedom he's got just to bear down on the back four.
38:16And he's got runners either side of him.
38:17This is a long punt up the pitch.
38:19It's four touches and it's bang.
38:21It's in the back of your net.
38:22But there's so much to pull apart in this goal, Tom.
38:25He's so bad from a defensive point of view.
38:28Robbie Dees is separated.
38:29He's watching Wilson out here.
38:32That's his other centre back.
38:33Miles.
38:34Look at the size of the gap between them.
38:36And you can see Calvin Miller there.
38:38He's just going to bomb right through.
38:40Now, Robbie Dees needs to use his intelligence and say that Scott Bain can't hit that side because it's blocked.
38:46So get across and attach yourself to your other centre back.
38:50If he does that, then he probably snuffs that out.
38:52But it's way too easy.
38:53It's so comfortable for Falkirk to get themselves into a position where, yeah, they're scoring goals.
39:01But now they can just see the game out and just force the hander come out to try something different in the second half.
39:06Kelly did try something different in the second half.
39:08Made three changes.
39:09Changed the shape a bit.
39:10And they were better in the second half.
39:12They were.
39:13waiting to the second half of games to start playing.
39:15They did this on Wednesday against Aberdeen.
39:17And this is what I'm saying.
39:18I think, you know, he's started with a three.
39:20He's gone a four today again.
39:22And again, Stewart's just...
39:24I don't mind changing shapes to face opposition.
39:26That's a foul for me.
39:28Robbie Dees is clattered into Bain.
39:30And it's a clear foul.
39:32So it should be chopped off.
39:33But I think Stewart is chopping and changing.
39:36He's just trying to get things going again.
39:38Yes, it is a worrying run of form.
39:41But you have to say in the second half, they were much better.
39:44They were.
39:45They were much better.
39:46John Jules comes on.
39:47I think he looks a real handful up there.
39:50He's got Tiffany trying to make things for him.
39:52He's got better runs into the box.
39:53He's got Bruce Anderson there, who's always going to be a wee bit of a threat.
39:56But there was a lot more purpose to their play.
39:59On the breakdowns, they were on it.
40:01They were pushing forward.
40:02This one for Bruce Anderson.
40:03Nice little finish, but offside.
40:05But there was a better urgency to their game.
40:08And there was more stability to the back.
40:09Now, whether that's Falkert coming off the game a little bit,
40:11because they think the job's done.
40:12Or it's a wee bit more.
40:13It can happen when you're 3-0 up.
40:14Yes.
40:15Easily.
40:16But I mean, I suppose the question is...
40:17Brilliant finish.
40:18Big double J there with a great finish.
40:19Double J?
40:20Is that what we're calling him?
40:21Yeah, we're going to name him.
40:22I like it.
40:23For Kilmarnock, you know, it's four defeats in a row now.
40:26Yeah.
40:27Their next game's at Celtic Park.
40:28I know.
40:29Which is a massive concern for them.
40:30What do you feel is contributing to their results right now?
40:33Why are they struggling so badly?
40:35Is it defensively?
40:36Is it they can't score?
40:37A bit of both?
40:38Yeah, I've watched a lot of their goals.
40:40And I don't think there's a real good communication level from the boys at the back.
40:45No, they can have bodies at the back, just like we saw with Dundee.
40:48But you've not got people taking responsibility and picking up or stepping in and breaking the line
40:53just to close gaps and put pressure on people.
40:56And when that's happening, it's a tough one to get out of.
40:59But Stuart's a really good coach.
41:00He's astute.
41:01He'll watch it.
41:02He'll try and go to Celtic and try and get a result and get things going again in an international break.
41:07But he has got a lot to fix.
41:09OK, let's have a quick look at the table.
41:11Hearts win again to go nine clear at the top.
41:15Hibbs are in third, Falkirk up to fifth tonight.

41:41And there's European games on Thursday night from 5pm.
41:44Now, there were some League Cup games earlier.
41:47Well, one League Cup game earlier tonight.
41:49St Mirren winning in the semi-final 4-1 against Motherwell.
41:52Neil, we watched a bit of it before we come on live tonight.
41:54What did you make of the game?
41:55Brilliant performance by St Mirren.
41:57I put Motherwell favourites skin into the game because of how they play the game.
42:02Big massive pitch.
42:03But I always thought that Stevie would come up with a plan.
42:05It was direct.
42:06It was powerful.
42:07It had purpose in it.
42:08And actually, there can be no arguments about who was the best team in the night to go through
42:12to the final.
42:13Thanks for that.
42:14Big game tomorrow.
42:15Old Farm semi-final.
42:16You said on Wednesday night you felt Celtic were favourites.
42:19Have you changed your mind?
42:20No, I still make Celtic favourites just given the history of where they've been.
42:25And I know they've changed manager.
42:27The old Wiley Fox and Martin O'Neill have come up against him a few times myself.
42:30I know that he looked like he'd almost breathed a wee bit of life back in the Celtic in terms
42:34of their attacking intent.
42:35They were a lot more purposeful.
42:37There was more penetration.
42:39It wasn't so much kind of moving the ball around.
42:42Rangers looked a lot more stable against Hibs playing that back three.
42:46They're still needing to find a few gears going forward though.
42:49But Danny Rule feels that they're making strides.
42:52But this is a big acid test for him.
42:54This is a big question for him to answer.
42:56It's a huge game for them.
42:58Quickly a prediction.
42:59Have you got a score line for me now?
43:00No, I don't.
43:01You don't do score lines?
43:02No.
43:03Thanks for that.
43:04Thanks for your contribution tonight Neil.
43:05I've thoroughly enjoyed it.
43:06And that is it for tonight.
43:07Only the three games, but 12 goals for you to enjoy.
43:10Not bad for a Saturday night.
43:12We'll see you later.
