02:00It's a first Edinburgh derby for David Dickinson, pulsating atmosphere inside Tyne Castle.
02:09So the visitors will get us under way.
02:14Off we go.
02:21Highly anticipated Edinburgh derby.
02:27Sends over to the far side for Milne.
02:37Sends over to the far side for Milne.
02:47And it's taken out there, Arps will have a free kick.
02:53Robita penalised.
03:00It's Harry Milne.
03:03And it's Andros Kizaridis standing over it.
03:06It's Milne who curls it in dangerously, and that could have gone anywhere.
03:10But in the end it's behind for a goal kick.
03:14It's a wicked delivery from Milne.
03:19It's a good kick.
03:28It's a free kick.
03:30Much to the dismay there of the Hearts fans.
03:34And Balassa over the dead ball situation.
03:41It is a beat-up.
03:42It's a good ball, and it comes all the way through to Martin Boyle.
03:46Denied the near post by Schwaller.
03:49Schwaller, first field action for either goalkeeper.
03:55Kinsley couldn't get enough on it.
03:57Boyle foiled.
04:05Now and again.
04:06Finds the pass to Braga this time.
04:12There's Kizaridis.
04:14That was fans looking for him to shoot.
04:19Almost a carbon copy of that goal against Falkirk.
04:24The roofal smile tells you just how close this was to finding the top corner again.
04:31Rippling the roof of the net instead.
04:34Kizaridis trying to knock that round to Caden, who does well.
04:41Picked up though by Devlin.
04:44Kizaridis once more, Caden wipes him out.
04:54We are near the ball.
04:55I think the Hearts make of this.
04:58As Rafael Salinger tries to line up his wall.
05:03Kizaridis will fancy it.
05:05Kinsley's there too.
05:07It is Kizaridis, it's dangerous.
05:09Salinger deals with it well.
05:14Any slight touch on its way through here,
05:17and that's surely in the back of the net.
05:19It's hard as Mulligan, out to a beater.
05:29The last few seconds of the first period.
05:40It's a half-time whistle, scoreless.
05:42Hard fought, closely matched, but no goals.
05:47But no goals, Martin Boyle with an early effort, that was kept out by Shvolov.
05:52Kizariris just over, midway through the half,
05:57but at half-time at Tynecastle, hearts nil, hibbs nil.
06:09Devlin exchanging passes.
06:12Kizariris, Devlin again, look dangerous,
06:16Hanley had to deal with it.
06:21Kizariris tries to prise open that hibbs defence.
06:32Taking a shot, back to Milne, it comes from Kizariris,
06:35now he flips it towards the back post.
06:38Limeira from McEntee, doesn't trouble Salinger.
06:46Limeira from Obeeta, forwards.
06:56Martin Boyle could be in here, Martin Boyle is in!
06:59Martin Boyle off the bar!
07:01comes back to Caden.
07:04Alkit gets it, half clear of Obeeta.
07:08Can't keep a hold of it, and a half-survive.
07:13Martin Boyle, so close to a fifth goal.
07:19Fifth goal, and Edinburgh Derby is created so simply,
07:25his little dink overs fall off.
07:28Just a couple of inches too high.
07:31really good effort from Boyle, and really unlucky.
07:36It's gone away by Obeeta.
07:49Now it's Braga, takes a shot on Salinger.
07:54Oh, he's on at the second attempt,
07:57shouldn't be needed to, but Braga's effort.
08:01A little bit tame in the end.
08:03He just couldn't quite get out of his feet in time.
08:16Kizariris again.
08:17Well, Hanley and Salinger getting in each other's way.
08:21It's going to come to Shankland,
08:23who really should have done better.
08:26Good strength from Bowie,
08:28as Higgs trying to take it to the other end.
08:30Boyle, as he beat in the offside trap,
08:33it's Martin Boyle!
08:35Who sees the flag go up now,
08:38and I think that is the correct call,
08:41and I think he knew it at the time.
08:43I know he tucked it home regardless.
08:46Let's just double-check.
08:49Just didn't quite manage to hold the run.
08:52As Finlay stepped up.
08:59But Lauren Shankland, when he was presented with that opportunity,
09:02would have backed him to bury it.
09:08Shankland managed to post that into the path of Braga,
09:12a despairing lunge there from Airedale,
09:15but he took enough of the ball to satisfy the referee.
09:21And now Boyle's in behind again,
09:23Martin Boyle this time, can he finish?
09:25Denai Basch, fall off.
09:28And then Campbell unable to make anything of the rebound
09:32as the flag goes up once more.
09:34Martin Boyle has been heavily involved in this second half.
09:39He was offside again there, wasn't he?
09:43Just lost control, the ball still got the shot away.
09:46Schvallo makes the save.
09:48In any case, the flag was up.
09:51The flag was up.
09:59There's Carriota, against Lovita.
10:10Carriota again to the left foot this time,
10:12swings a dangerous looking ball in!
10:15Craig Halkett to win the Edinburgh Derby!
10:18In injury time!
10:21Bedlam around Tyne Castle!
10:24As Hearts nick all three points,
10:28and go clear, even further clear at the top of the table.
10:32What a moment!
10:33And these fans believe that something special could be in the air.
10:47A stony face, David Gray.
10:49Hibbs cannot believe it.
10:51It's a wicked ball in.
10:59And Craig Halkett arriving late at the back post.
11:04To score his fourth goal of the season.
11:06And none of them will mean any more than that one.
11:10Wonderful finish.
11:28Here's the final whistle.
11:30Jerry McInnes wins his first Edinburgh Derby.
11:33Look what it means to those Hark players,
11:35as well as the fans.
11:38Well, they kept on pushing.
11:44And although a draw might have been the fairer result,
11:49those in Maroon will care not a jot,
11:52because Craig Halkett won it for them late on
11:55to stretch the lead at the top of the Premiership to five points.
11:59As it finishes at Tyne Castle.
12:01Hearts one, Hibernian nil.
12:04Hibernian nil.
12:08I did enjoy winning the game.
12:10Obviously, football can be tough and challenging.
12:12I thought it was a challenge for the players today.
12:14The conditions, the nature of the game, it's frantic.
12:17It never really settled down.
12:20Typical Derby in that sense.
12:22Even now, you can feel the wind at pitch level,
12:25how tough that is for the players.
12:26So, great.
12:28We've found a way to win.
12:29We've only seven league games in,
12:30but we've had three last-minute winners in those seven games,
12:32which says a lot about the team,
12:35about the mentality, the fitness, the squad depth.
12:38And, listen, we all would like it to be a bit more comfortable,
12:42but I think Hibs have got too many good players.
12:45The rivalry is so fierce.
12:46It's very rare that these games aren't tight.
12:49And it's just important you try and come out the other side of it.
12:52And thankfully, we've managed that today.
12:54Yeah, I thought it was a poor game of football, to be honest.
12:59The conditions helped for both sides.
13:01It wasn't a lot of football played.
13:03And then, listen, the weather happens.
13:05All the good work you do within the games
13:07undone in the very last second of the game by losing the goal.
13:09So, obviously, that hurts more than anything else.
13:11If you look at how the game went,
13:13I thought we started the game quite well.
13:14First half, I thought we had enough control,
13:16considering the atmosphere, the noise,
13:18settled quite well into the game.
13:20I think there was very few chances within the game.
13:22Second half, I thought,
13:23maybe it had a bit more of the ball,
13:24but I thought if anybody was going to score,
13:26we carried more of a threat
13:27and thought we would have done that.
13:29It probably sums up our season
13:30in terms of not taking the chances when they do come,
13:32which weren't many today,
13:33and then not being able to see it out by the end
13:35and losing an inexcusable goal in the last minute of the game.
13:39Well, it had 0-0 written all over it,
13:41but up stepped hero Craig Halkett, Neil.
13:44Dramatic ending to the match.
13:46Wasn't the best in terms of quality.
13:48What did you make of the match as a spectacle?
13:50Well, first of all, that's never a book,
13:51and then it's annoying us when we put it down.
13:53Listen, it wasn't a classic Derby.
13:57It wasn't a classic Derby.
13:59And listening to the two managers there,
14:01they're probably, I mean, not too far off the mark.
14:04I don't think Hibbs did control it.
14:06I don't think anybody real controlling the game.
14:08And it was that wonderful bit of quality from Craig Halkett,
14:12as we'll see, to break the deadlock
14:14and get a massive three points for Hearts,
14:16and it just continues that belief.
14:18But it wasn't a brilliant game.
14:19Why do you think that was?
14:20Is the weather a factor?
14:22The wind?
14:23Possibly.
14:24I know Derek McKinnis touched on it.
14:26It was built up to be.
14:27Looking at Hearts, Derek was talking about
14:29they didn't connect the game right through the thirds of the pitch.
14:33And I think maybe his make-up of his side,
14:36he's got two, Beningame and Devlin,
14:37they are two very controlled players.
14:39They never try to get up and touch.
14:40So you're then very reliant on Kazaridis on one side
14:43and Milne on the other to provide the ammunition for Braga and Shankland.
14:46And it didn't really happen because of the make-up of the Hibbs midfield.
14:50They were compact.
14:51They broke things down.
14:52Two defences, for me, were on top.
14:54Hibbs always retained that threat, as David said there,
14:56because of the pace of Boyle in particular and Big Bowie up top.
15:00But yeah, as we'll see, I think,
15:02two defences.
15:04If that or that ended 0-0 today,
15:06nobody would have had any complaints.
15:07I think we thought it was going to end 0-0.
15:08It was a game for defenders.
15:10Craig Halkett, you certainly felt he was the best player on the pitch today.
15:13It was absolutely immense.
15:15And this boy has had some bad luck,
15:17I want to tell you, when he was breaking into the Scotland team.
15:19But he's black now.
15:20He was a colossus.
15:21When Balls went up top to deal with the physicality of Bowie,
15:24he did it.
15:25When he had to reap the game with the pace of Boyle,
15:28he did it.
15:29When it was Balls coming into his own box,
15:31he was commanding.
15:33He was like, nah, goalkeeper, you just stay in your line.
15:35I'll deal with these.
15:37And I think all round, Craig showed that there's a real bit of leadership.
15:41And you absolutely need it.
15:43Dell's been really, really prudent in terms of going into the market
15:47and going and getting Stuart Finlay.
15:49But Halkett has been a big find.
15:51And I tell you, Tomo, you would have been proud of this one.
15:53This isn't just get your leg on it.
15:55He's steering this towards the far corner.
15:57There's a really important analysis part where Daniel Barlesa
16:03just leaves him.
16:04He drops when the ball's coming in.
16:05I mean, it's a brilliant cross from Carjota,
16:07but there's still so much to do so late in the game
16:10and the big fellas come up trumps.
16:12Well, we can now hear from Craig Ellicott.
16:15I wouldn't say it was a perfect game,
16:17but the way it finished was unbelievable.
16:19I think over the 90 minutes, if it had finished,
16:22no, no, I don't think there would have been too many arguments.
16:24But to go and to get a last minute one like that in the Derby,
16:27it's unbelievable.
16:29Unbelievable indeed.
16:31Martin Boyle for Hiberian was possibly their biggest threat.
16:35Threw one-on-one on a load of occasions.
16:37Just needs to time his runs a wee bit better.
16:40He's got the pace,
16:41so he doesn't need to play quite as much on the edge.
16:43Yeah, well, maybe, again, his anticipation here
16:45that there's going to be a half chance coming from Campbell back in.
16:49Halkett's gone nice and tight,
16:50and Ocean McAtee has just switched off for just a brief second there.
16:55He's dreaming, he doesn't see Boyle coming on his blind side.
16:58That touch, his second touch just bounces off his knee
17:01and takes it ever so slightly towards the goalkeeper.
17:03Very difficult to get it up and down in such a short distance.
17:05Exactly.
17:06He's just trying to get such a deft touch,
17:08and it's so unlucky.
17:09And that's the threat that he always poses
17:11because he's always right on the shoulder.
17:13He had a few though where he could have probably timed it that bit better.
17:15He did, but equally you could throw that towards the defence
17:17and see at the time,
17:18and just stepping out was excellent as well.
17:20Yeah.
17:21It maybe sums the game up a bit,
17:23but when you're analysing kick-offs,
17:25but these two kick-offs,
17:26I think Hearts were just doing a bit of banter with theirs for the second one.
17:29Never seen anything like it.
17:30I've never seen anything like this in all my life.
17:32I'm not going to lie to you.
17:33I enjoyed it.
17:34I'm also not going to lie,
17:36because it was interesting.
17:38This is the part I really enjoyed,
17:40the wee bit of crack that Hearts think.
17:41We'll have a wee go at it,
17:42and when you go to the dugout,
17:44they're having a right good laugh.
17:46Derek McInnes,
17:47his background team,
17:48David Gray and his background team are both enjoying it,
17:51so it's just a wee bit of banter,
17:53which maybe just lightened the mood a wee bit.
17:56Yeah, there's been a lot of chat.
17:57That's good stuff.
17:58A lot of chat about Hearts Mountain,
18:00a serious title challenge this year.
18:02Derek McInnes obviously quick to play that down.
18:05What's your thoughts on it?
18:06We're mega early in the season.
18:07We saw Aberdeen last season do similar
18:09and then fall away,
18:10so he's right to play it down.
18:11Yeah, but you need to keep Tony Bloom away
18:13from any interviews or radios or anything like that,
18:15because I think he'll be very bullish
18:18of his commitment to Hearts challenging
18:20in the next 10 years.
18:21I don't think anybody ever thought
18:23that Hearts would have had this consistency
18:25and level of attack on the Premiership right now.
18:28Where they sit is incredible.
18:30As Derek says there,
18:31very quickly he's got a real steeliness about that group.
18:34Not only to score goals,
18:36but to continue to go to the end.
18:38There's been games where they haven't played well at all.
18:40In fact, you look at that Motherwell game
18:42where they've been absolutely battered.
18:44He makes really good changes.
18:45They get themselves right back into the match
18:47and they nick something.
18:48That's character that's invaluable on a team.
18:50So to get that so quickly into his tenure
18:53and all the players that's coming into the mix
18:55is fantastic.
18:56It's a long season though.
18:57I don't expect him to go all the way.
18:59I would love to see Hearts make a challenge.
19:02It's not before time.
19:04But who knows?
19:06Because the longer this goes with this challenge
19:08and the longer they stay ahead of Celtic
19:10and the other chasing pack
19:12where the Rangers can get a bit of traction going again,
19:14then the more that he can go to Tony Bloom
19:17and his board and say,
19:18listen, let's fill me up here.
19:20Let's get more into the tank
19:22and who knows what can happen.
19:23From Hib's point of view,
19:24it's no win in five in the league.
19:26They got a clean sheet last week at Celtic,
19:28which is brilliant.
19:30Seconds away from another clean sheet today,
19:32but they're not winning games.
19:34It's only days, but they're going to need to start winning games.
19:36Yes, they are.
19:37But listen, I'm not going to start throwing criticism at David Gray.
19:41I think he's done a brilliant job there.
19:43You can see they're a very structured side.
19:44Maybe just sometimes they've become over-reliant on that shape.
19:48Maybe he needs to shuffle it a wee bit
19:50just to click something into gear again.
19:52But what he's done up to this point has been excellent.
19:54Not winning games will always be a concern for a manager though.
19:57OK, to Rugby Park now as Kelly look for revenge on St Mirren
20:01following their League Cup quarterfinal defeat just a few weeks ago.
20:08It may only be two weeks since St Mirren last visited Rugby Park
20:12and won in the Premier Sports Cup on penalties.
20:15But Kilmarnock go into this one optimistic.
20:17They've got their first league win on the board last weekend
20:20and all is looking rosy in the garden.
20:23While Stuart Kethowell names an unchanged team
20:27from that victory over Dundee United last weekend
20:29that means still no place for Brad Lyons.
20:31He's on the bench alongside Scott Tiffany
20:33who could make a league debut.
20:35St Mirren are also unchanged after they beat Dundee 1-0 last Saturday.
20:40Liam Donnelly returns to Rugby Park as former haunt
20:43while Cillian Phillips makes a 50th St Mirren appearance.
20:46St Mirren haven't won here in the top flight since 2013.
20:50Does that change today?
20:52Well, it was sunny just a few moments ago.
20:58Shamal George there booting away a moving ball.
21:01Nick Walsh being sympathetic with the rules this afternoon.
21:06Kilti pokes that one through.
21:08Bruce Anderson's onto it.
21:09Big chance for Kilmarnock.
21:10Their first of the game.
21:11Shamal George saved.
21:12David Watson's in there.
21:14And Kilmarnock score with that.
21:17Well, technically second shot, but their first real chance.
21:21And it's David Watson who fires in from close range.
21:26Well, St Mirren have dominated possession so far.
21:30Kilmarnock have done very little, but they've punished that high line.
21:33Stealing the ball in midfield.
21:35And Shamal George just puts that back onto a silver plate for David Watson.
21:44He scores his third of the season in the league.
21:47They're always getting to that first.
21:48And Kilmarnock hit the front.
21:52And the game plan coming off for Stuart Cattlewell so far.
22:05They've absorbed any St Mirren pressure.
22:08And then hit them on the counter.
22:12They're coming forward again here.
22:14Bruce Anderson keeps that in.
22:16James Brown will cross.
22:17Dakers is there!
22:19And he powers in the header to make it 2-0 to the hosts at Rugby Park.
22:26And he runs straight over to the bench to hug Kettlewell and Stevie Frail as well.
22:34That'll be a find for him on Monday.
22:37But what a goal this is for Kilmarnock.
22:41It's a good touch from Anderson.
22:44And he does well to play in Brown.
22:47First time cross.
22:48Picks out Dakers.
22:49And he uses every inch of his 6'7 frame.
22:53And finds the top corner.
22:55Almost takes the net off with that one as well.
22:58Kilmarnock double their lead.
23:00With a fine, fine effort.
23:03And he won't be too happy with what he's seen in this first half.
23:10St Mirren yet to trouble Max Stryak, but they could have a chance here.
23:16Mandron trying the low cross.
23:18It's cut out.
23:20Can St Mirren conjure something before the break?
23:25John to the back post.
23:27Oh, that looked to hit an arm.
23:30And then there's another appeal.
23:32A loud St Mirren appeal for handball.
23:35Let's have another look here.
23:37Richard King with the header.
23:39Well, it does strike the arm or the elbow of Robbie Dees.
23:42The follow-up hits David Watson straight in the face.
23:45Well, Nick Walsh and the VAR, Andrew Dallas, not interested.
23:49Is that too close to Robbie Dees for him to move his arm?
23:58Watson.
23:59Over the top.
24:00The St Mirren defence stops.
24:01Dakers in.
24:02It's saved.
24:04With a chance still on here.
24:05St Mirren unable to clear.
24:06Gogic heads down.
24:08Anderson.
24:09It comes back to Dakers and he snatches it.
24:11Well, three golden opportunities for Kilmarnock.
24:14They can't take them.
24:16Liam Donnelly just totally switched off there.
24:20Miscommunication between midfielder and goalkeeper.
24:23And then Bruce Anderson.
24:26Volleyed it.
24:27Hit off King and Dakers just drags the shot wide.
24:31Phillips tries to play it up the line to find Dan and Lundaloo.
24:43I think that one's gone behind for a corner.
24:47St Mirren have made all five changes already in the second half.
24:52Will they have an impact?
24:54And Lundaloo.
24:55It's David Watson who scrambles that one away.
24:58I think he threw his shoulder at that.
25:00St Mirren pressing, but they've really not had many chances.
25:04Players struggling to read the bounce of the ball in this win.
25:08But Watson hooks it over the top and Daniels is in behind.
25:11Alex Gogic coming back.
25:12There's a tangle.
25:13Daniels goes down.
25:14And it's a free kick to St Mirren.
25:16Well, Alex Gogic was booked with almost the first action of the second half.
25:21He had to be really careful here.
25:22It looked like Daniels was in behind, but the Cypriot did really well to get back and wrestle him off the vault.
25:34St Mirren corner comes in.
25:37Stryak not the strongest punch.
25:39Dakers tries to clear with Mayo.
25:42Well, there won't be time for the corner.
25:45The Kilmarnock win is secured.
25:48Two victories on the bounce for Stuart Kethowell.
25:51His side leapfrogging St Mirren in the table.
25:55And it was pretty comfortable for the hosts in the end.
25:58Goals from Watson and Dakers.
26:00It finishes Kilmarnock two.
26:01St Mirren nil.
26:02I thought we were the better team.
26:04Really difficult, I think, for both teams.
26:06In the early parts, Chik, to try and get a hold of the game
26:09and try to get a foot in the ball and have some sort of quality.
26:12I think the first goal was a real catalyst for us to get going in the first half.
26:16And then I thought we just managed the game really well.
26:18Had the better chances in the second half.
26:20Possibly could have been more.
26:22And if I'm being honest, I wasn't expecting to stand here
26:25with as routine a victory as it was because those teams are really, really close.
26:29But credit to the players, Chik, they took on from last week.
26:32And it's our second clean sheet and our second three points.
26:35We were poor today. We're a shadow of ourselves.
26:38Everything we're good at, we didn't do.
26:40And we made it clear before the game that the weather was horrendous.
26:43The pitch is not great.
26:46And we didn't play to the conditions.
26:48You know, they got the ball, went forward really early,
26:50landed on second balls.
26:51And that's where both their goals came from.
26:53We were in possession. We gave it away.
26:55We passed the ball with no purpose without going in behind them,
26:57without delivering balls.
26:58And they done the opposite to us.
27:00They delivered balls.
27:01They made us defend.
27:02And they thoroughly deserved to win.
27:05That they did.
27:06Back-to-back 2-0 wins and clean sheets for Kilmarnock.
27:09And as Steven Robinson says, they thoroughly deserved it to do.
27:12Kelly, they were good again.
27:13They were, which is, I mean, it's very ironic
27:17because Stevie does that a lot.
27:19And he does it very well with St Mirren,
27:20where they get the balls forward and they turn people.
27:22And they get up.
27:23Of course they can play through the middle.
27:24They really missed Mark O'Hara today, I felt as well, his power.
27:27But he's right about playing the conditions,
27:28particularly on that artificial surface, the wind.
27:31And Kilmarnock did that brilliantly.
27:33I thought retaining the two strikers up top,
27:35I think Stewart's playing a different type of football
27:37he did at Motherwell.
27:38But that has a lot to do with what players you have at your disposal.
27:41But they were so effective today.
27:43You mentioned the two strikers, Dakers and Anderson.
27:45They worked well together today.
27:47They combined numerous occasions and looked a threat constantly.
27:50I really like how they played today.
27:52Big Marcus Dakers up top has been a really good sign in the pace.
27:56And the ability of Bruce Anderson.
27:59Gogage steps out here and it creates that gap,
28:01as we'll see in a wee moment for Bruce Anderson
28:03just to go in between two centre-backs.
28:05It's a brilliant ball from Kilty, really brave.
28:06That's a really good stop.
28:08But have a wee look at David Watson here.
28:10Gogage steps out, creates a gap.
28:12Have a look at David Watson and keep watching him.
28:14This guy just hits the afterburners here.
28:16Burns the ref off.
28:17He's not getting back.
28:18And Gogage doesn't get back.
28:20And then he gets his little tap in.
28:21But that's purely down to rewards of just sniffing something.
28:24Desire.
28:25And again, this is the striker movement.
28:26It's one shot.
28:27It's one back.
28:28Bruce Anderson does ever so well.
28:29What a cross that is.
28:31And that's a brilliant ball for the big fella.
28:33I mean, he just eats that up all day.
28:34James Brown will be feeling pretty good about himself.
28:37Excuse the pun when he goes in behind here.
28:39But what a whip it is.
28:40And I mean, that's textbook header.
28:43So the striker partnership today was really good.
28:46I think you would have appreciated this because having that one shot.
28:49Daniels it was in the second half when Bruce Anderson goes off.
28:52But having one to come short, one long.
28:54And just keeping defenders always on their toes.
28:57It gives the guys behind.
28:58I always felt that it was a way to really upset defences.
29:01Especially if you're a bigger striker and one that was smaller
29:04and could go in behind or was good at coming short and linking the play.
29:07Played hundreds of games like that in my career.
29:09But you always seem to manage to cause trouble for defences.
29:12And it was certainly the case today.
29:13It did.
29:14And the thing that you must get, Stevie, is that if one's coming short
29:17and one's coming long, if it goes into the second one,
29:20the one that's come short can't just stand about and admire
29:22that he's created a wee bit of space.
29:24He's getting on.
29:25And then you've got guys like Kilty and you've got guys like Watson
29:28bombing on beyond.
29:29So it's a really nice way to play.
29:31It's effective.
29:32Stewart's definitely played the conditions today.
29:34But he's doing it really effectively.
29:37As you said, one defeat and it goes to that handball.
29:39They've gone under the radar, Kelly.
29:40Very, very impressive.
29:41Absolutely.
29:42A handball to look at now.
29:44Robbie Dees, similar to others we've seen this season.
29:47Yep.
29:48And I'm so surprised it wasn't given.
29:49I'm so surprised it wasn't given.
29:51And I'm also delighted it wasn't given.
29:53Because I don't think Robbie Dees is doing it deliberately.
29:57I don't think it's an unnatural movement.
29:59He's almost like kind of shirking, almost like he's almost as he's dropping.
30:03He's almost going to turn his face away.
30:05And automatically your body moves with it.
30:07So that's the whole thing for me is about an unnatural position.
30:12It's not because your body moves.
30:14Well, let me tell you what they said.
30:15They said close proximity and not an unnatural position.
30:19So you can agree with that.
30:20Yeah.
30:21But look at this one.
30:22I mean, this is given last week.
30:24Or the other week there against Hibs for Dundee United.
30:27Chavez gets penalised.
30:29There's a penalty given there.
30:30I mean, it's never a penalty for me.
30:32There was another one where Stewart was so animated and rightly so.
30:35The one against Celtic was a deflection.
30:37It comes off a loose meal.
30:38So maybe today was just a wee bit of him applying some pressure.
30:41So you're looking for consistency is what you're looking for.
30:43St Mirren, not their usual sales.
30:44You can see that.
30:45Steven Robinson making three changes at half-time.
30:47He was not happy.
30:48They'll look to get a reaction in their next home game after the international break.
30:51Yeah.
30:52Yeah.
30:53He made substitutions.
30:54And I think he was very unhappy to say the least.
30:57To get things going.
30:58As you said, St Mirren have been getting plenty of applauded.
31:00Now they've taken a wee bit of a knock back.
31:03They've got to bounce back again.
31:04I've no doubt Steve will have him buzzing.
31:06OK.
31:07Dundee United take on Livingstone next at a very, very blustery paradise.
31:11United make one change from last week with Nikolai Muller making his first terror start,
31:18replacing Amar Fata.
31:20Strain and Trapanovsky may make long awaited returns from injury as substitutes.
31:27There's also a single Livy switch from that narrow defeat to Rangers.
31:30Andy Winter drops to the bench.
31:32Connor McLennan is in for his first league start of the season.
31:35This is neat and tidy play from the Lions.
31:49Smith goes for goal.
31:51And there was almost a chance for Stevie May to take from the rebound.
31:56Kucherenko there left enough for Stevie May to attack.
32:00And a slip.
32:07Sees Livingstone through.
32:09And Pittman with the easiest of opportunities to slide Livingstone into the lead.
32:15United get it all wrong at the back.
32:18Livingstone take advantage.
32:20And you have to say, the Lions deserve it.
32:23Esselink makes the mistake.
32:27And Scott Pittman has his third Premiership goal of the season.
32:34And it will be one of the easiest, if not the easiest, he has all season.
32:44May drills over.
32:46Carestez with the clearance.
32:51Montgomery helps Livingstone keep the pressure up.
32:53This is now McLennan.
32:56Clipped in.
32:57Yangi heads down.
32:58And Pittman with another big opportunity.
33:03He should be doing better.
33:08Look at the number eight.
33:09Just peel away onto the penalty spot here.
33:11Yangi knows exactly where he is.
33:13Sapsford.
33:23And headed wide.
33:26Frustration for Vichko Shevei.
33:31That is a big chance.
33:33In first half added on time for United.
33:36To get a leveller.
33:37Sibold.
33:38Chevei.
33:39Fata takes it.
33:40Neat move.
33:41And is cynically brought down by McLennan.
33:42An easy decision for the referee to show the yellow card.
33:44Amar Fata looking to spark the home support into life.
33:46Ferry stands over the free kick.
33:47Heavy presence in the penalty box.
33:49All the way through.
33:50All the way through.
33:51And Kereshtes.
33:52United are level.
33:53United are level.
33:54And it's Christian Kereshtes.
33:55Kereshtes.
33:56And it's Christian Kereshtes.
33:57With his final goal.
33:58And it's Christian Kereshtes.
33:59With his final goal.
34:00But United.
34:01on.
34:02All the way through.
34:03Kirk 하는데.
34:04That is you.
34:05He's final.
34:06And it's go.
34:07Felix wins her.
34:08He Court runs.
34:09It's the final goal.
34:11Hepartam Fabic.
34:16refined.
34:17Evenechat.
34:19It's good.
34:20To count.
34:21Each.
34:22His lap.
34:23It's up.
34:24And it's up.
34:25He want to be on.
34:26He was up.
34:28And he came.
34:29His lap is...
34:29Give Jim Goodwin and the home support that quick second half start they were looking for.
34:34And they're back on level terms.
34:37The ball manages to go all the way through.
34:40It might not have been the connection that Kereshtez intended.
34:46But it was enough to spin the ball away from the Livingston goalkeeper, Prior.
34:55Sapsford.
34:56Driving forward.
35:00Reverse pass for Fata.
35:02The deflection almost made it difficult for Prior.
35:07Fata is asking for handball.
35:19Ferry takes.
35:21It's high.
35:23The drops for Stevenson.
35:25Pushed away by Prior.
35:26Chan still there.
35:28It's out wide for Sapsford.
35:31Headed back across.
35:33Cleared off the line.
35:36And Livingston.
35:37Scramble it away.
35:40Strong stop from Stevenson by Prior.
35:42There's just too much in the way.
35:45Of a Livingston defence.
35:48And that one cleared away by Moe Silla.
35:51Off the line.
35:54Tate.
35:55And now Tate.
35:55And now Tate.
35:56And now Tate.
35:58Tate.
35:58Tate.
36:02Montgomery.
36:02Tate.
36:03Tate.
36:03Tate.
36:04Tatea.
36:10Tate.
36:11Tate.
36:12All on his own.
36:14Cuts in centrally, and strikes!
36:17Big save from Prior.
36:19Because the Croatian midfielder, Entangerine, did superbly there.
36:24All on his own.
36:27And it was the last man for Livingston, stepping up again.
36:35Just over five minutes left.
36:38Trapanovski, twisting.
36:42Ferry returns to the North Macedonian winger.
36:51Teased over, Fata's header!
36:54Agonisingly close from Amar Fata.
36:58As he looks to guide that one towards the post.
37:03But it's the wrong side.
37:12It's scrappy.
37:14And it's the Lions who come out on top.
37:16And that one off the crossbar.
37:18Kucherenko on his heels.
37:22What a way to win it.
37:24That would have been from Mohamedou Susoho.
37:26I sound like a broken record on here most weeks talking about the goals that we concede.
37:30It's another, you know, horrendous goal against.
37:34You know, a really poor mistake.
37:36Just don't deal with the situation.
37:38And find ourselves trailing and having to chase the game again.
37:41But the second half, yes, it was a lot better.
37:43We had more possession.
37:44I think we had 19 or 20 attempts on goal.
37:47And, you know, just couldn't find the winner, unfortunately, when we were on top.
37:51I thought we got a lot right in the first half.
37:53But, again, probably, I'll probably caveat that way.
37:57I didn't realise how difficult it was in this half for Dungeons United.
38:01Because I had that in the second half and it was difficult.
38:03So, wee bit of the weather probably made it difficult for Dungeons United.
38:06But we were very, very good in terms of our press,
38:09our use of the ball and our shape.
38:12Point apiece at Tanadice.
38:13Maybe Storm Amy the winner to Daniel.
38:16Yeah, well, every manager seems to have had a problem with it outside the players
38:20in terms of how they want to approach the game.
38:22But the way Dungeons United did come into the game,
38:24I think that's compliments to Jim.
38:26They identified they needed to change things,
38:28made the changes and that allowed them to get in there.
38:30Maybe unlucky, not to get three points.
38:32But, again, Davey will be quite pleased going down to Livingstone with a point.
38:36Yeah, I would say something.
38:37Scott Pittman, he got the first...
38:38He was very good in that first half.
38:40It was a very dominant first half from Livingstone.
38:43Pittman has...
38:44He probably should have scored more than the one goal.
38:45Yeah, but Pittman has been a player that has been so valuable to this club, Livingstone.
38:51Not only in his service, but how he affects the game.
38:54I think he's playing with Stevie May up top and he's enjoying it.
38:56Because Stevie May is not the typical Livingstone centre forward of a few years ago
39:01where they might have been direct.
39:03His movement's excellent.
39:04He goes down the channel.
39:05So he allows Pittman to get into the central points of the box and get goals because we know he's got a nice time on his arrival.
39:14He's loitering about there.
39:15And it was a lot today with how Livingstone camped Dundee United back.
39:20But he is a goal threat.
39:21And this is where he gets his reward.
39:23He just runs off a Camara here.
39:25You can see that...
39:26I mean, that's a horrendous mistake from Hesselink.
39:29But again, it's Stevie May who's willing to run that channel and open up the heart there.
39:33But Pittman has got no right to actually go into the space here.
39:38Jim Goodwin will be horrified with the amount of space that's in the centre of his box and he's got a simple tap in it.
39:43He's not getting any younger, Stevie May.
39:44No.
39:45But I think his energy levels look as though they're improving.
39:47He was brilliant against Rangers.
39:48But again, it's that different type of centre forward.
39:50So often they'll maybe get up onto a big physical striker like Yenge or back in the day Dykes and stuff
39:55and battered people and got in second ball.
39:58But they're trying to play through the lines.
39:59And with Stevie May and the team, he's still got the intelligence to play on the shoulder to go in and open up that central area.
40:04Just what happened with the goal.
40:05Explain to us the difference between Dundee United first half and Dundee United second half.
40:09Well, it's very simple.
40:10Again, Jim makes the substitution.
40:12Lovu comes off after 26 minutes.
40:14He puts a more offensive type player on.
40:16But this was before the substitution.
40:18Now, there's no intensity at all from the centre forward.
40:22There's no intensity from the guys behind.
40:24You can see it's a 5-4-1.
40:26It's a deep position they take in the game.
40:28They're coming right off and saying, OK, Livingston, you're not going to damage us.
40:31We're going to sit in here.
40:32We're going to try and play in a counter-attack.
40:34We're going to hurt you that way.
40:35And they didn't hurt them.
40:36They didn't get into the final third enough.
40:38They actually sustained a lot of damage through the penalty area.
40:42The final third where Livingston got into good areas.
40:45But then they changed it in the second half.
40:47Jim made adjustments.
40:48After the substitution, they remained on that.
40:51And maybe the conditions did allow him to get up in the game.
40:53Maybe I'm a bit unfair in Livingston.
40:55But they became deeper.
40:57But I think it was due to the fact there was a lot more attacking threat.
41:00There was a lot more a positive nature and aggression in their play,
41:05which comes from the manager.
41:06Because we all know, you know better than I, what type of character
41:09and what he would expect in his team to be on the front foot.
41:12And they absolutely weren't until he made that substitution.
41:14I believe he was raging with the performance in the first half last week.
41:17Again, this week.
41:18But I suppose it shows good management to make the in-game changes to try and get it right.
41:23Yeah, you have to be flexible.
41:24Sometimes if you just batter away at something with the same shape
41:28and you're not getting any results.
41:29I mean, people say it's like doing something over and over without getting results
41:33is a definition of madness.
41:34And I think Jim is still hurting from last week, you can tell.
41:37So immediately, to make a substitution is difficult.
41:4026 minutes.
41:41But I think it worked in the end for Jim today.
41:43It did.
41:44And they got the goal pretty much at the start of the second half.
41:46Caretza's with the goal.
41:48I've seen cleaner strikes.
41:49Yeah.
41:50Caretza's at the back post here.
41:53He's all alone.
41:54Teti Yenge, because it's not a corner,
41:56maybe the set-up's not as what David Martindale would like.
41:59But Teti Yenge at the back post should still have enough to get across.
42:02But it's really unfortunate because Fatah comes right across bodies.
42:06Watch Fatah making a long run here.
42:08There, look at the run.
42:09That just allows the ball to get to the bad post.
42:11And actually, it's a horrible strike, but a brilliant strike at the same time.
42:15Because United needed that to get themselves back into the game.
42:18It's no winning six for a living.
42:19Not ideal, but they'll feel as though their performances merit more points.
42:22Yeah, I think they do.
42:23And I think David Martindale will be really pleased with their reintroduction
42:26back into the top league.
42:27Yeah, no doubt about that.
42:29OK, let's have a wee look at the table tonight.
42:32Hearts top on 19 points.
42:35Celtic second on 14.
42:38Killier in third place tonight.
42:40Saints and United on nine points.
42:42Levy sit in 10th place.
42:44And the rest of the bottom six, they play tomorrow.
42:47And here's what's coming up over the next week or so for you to enjoy.
42:51Tomorrow night's highlights with genres are on at 7.15.
42:56Scotland v Greece, it's the big one.
42:58Thursday at 6 on BBC Radio Scotland.
43:00And we've got it on the television.
43:01BBC Scotland on the TV, 7.30.
43:04Off the ball, we'll follow that on Thursday night at 10.30.
43:10And that is it for tonight.
43:12Thank you very much to Neil for doing things.
43:14What are you doing?
43:15Three games tomorrow.
43:16Catch him with Jonathan tomorrow night on Sports Scene.
43:18We'll see you then.
43:19See you then.
43:20See you then.
43:21See you then.
43:22See you then.
43:23Bye.
43:24Bye.
43:25Bye.
43:26Bye.
43:27Bye.
43:28Bye.
43:29Bye.
43:30Bye.
43:51Lay you a pint
