00:00Fox News alert. Tensions, anger and fear for millions of Americans caught up in the federal government shutdown now in day 31.
00:11U.S. Senate Democrats are under extreme pressure after spending yet another full week blocking Republicans' efforts to pass a clean funding bill and reopen the government, pay people and put cash back in critical programs.
00:26Democrats are getting addicted, it would seem, to a drug of emotional violence, toying with people's suffering.
00:33I'm Harris Faulkner. You are in the Faulkner Focus.
00:37The pain of the shutdown is being felt. It's about to get infinitely worse.
00:43Federal food assistance to more than 42 million Americans expires tomorrow.
00:47Also at risk, the Head Start preschool program for little ones across the country and open enrollment for the Affordable Care Act.
00:56That's right. Democrats have said on the Hill they are holding out in the Senate for some deal to lower the cost of Obamacare.
01:03Well, it's a mystery because right now they expect people to pay for that enrollment during a shutdown when millions of them are not getting paychecks.
01:13Republicans are not the only ones asking Dems to end this all.
01:18So far, five unions and four of the largest airlines have called on lawmakers on the left to pass Republicans' clean bill to fund the government.
01:30Watch this.
01:31The biggest way to ensure the safety, security and reliability of our national air traffic control system is to pass a clean continuing resolution.
01:41Everyone knows, the vice president, Congress, that this shutdown needs to end now.
01:46It has to happen now.
01:48These guys need to convene, say yes to that clean CR, get this thing back on track, and again, restore that confidence in the American public.
01:54But let's get a clean CR and get that negotiation done behind closed doors without the pressure and without putting the American workers and the American economy at risk.
02:03Dems are adrift with no common sense.
02:06I mean, obviously.
02:08These people know what they're talking about.
02:09They're leading people.
02:10They need this to stop now.
02:13And the pressure on Dems, struggling to pinpoint exactly what is in the Republican bill that warrants a shutdown, is mind-boggling.
02:22But it's true.
02:23It's a fact.
02:24Why can't they say what's in it?
02:26Watch this.
02:28Should Democrats pass a standalone bill to fund SNAP benefits?
02:34Good morning.
02:35Well, let's be clear.
02:36Republicans run the House.
02:37They run the Senate.
02:38Is that a yes, then, that there should be a vote on the standalone legislation?
02:42I'm here.
02:43My Republican colleagues are on vacation.
02:46I don't play politics.
02:47I want a clean bill that focuses on the American people.
02:50They did have a clean CR vote on September 19th in the House.
02:54Did you vote for it?
02:55I disagree with your characterization and want to make sure that we're very clear about what Republicans have been doing.
03:04Any bill that they've put forth, they've always had some extra stuff to it.
03:08There's always been a poison pill to it.
03:09What were the poison pills of the clean CR, or the continuing resolution, you say it's not clean, that was voted on in the House in mid-September?
03:18Here's what's important.
03:21I think what you're trying to do is shift the responsibility to Democrats.
03:26She doesn't know.
03:30She doesn't know what the poison pills were in that clean CR.
03:34There aren't any, and she can't make an interesting or correct argument because she doesn't know what's in it, or because there aren't any, or both.
03:45It's beyond sad.
03:46It's disgusting.
03:47Republican Senator Ashley Moody in focus coming up.
03:51First, let's begin with senior congressional correspondent Chad Pergram on Capitol Hill.
03:55Chad.
03:57Harris, good morning.
03:58We're slamming into the first major inflection point of the shutdown.
04:02Travel delays, coupled with the lack of SNAP benefits, is a volatile political mixture.
04:08There's worry about holiday travel.
04:10The administration is blaming Democrats for the shutdown.
04:15I know the day after Thanksgiving is the busiest travel day in America, and if our airports are shut down, it'll mean that highways are more congested, and they'll be the Grinches who stole Thanksgiving.
04:28Democrats are raging that the Trump administration is not doling out SNAP benefits during the shutdown.
04:35That's always happened during previous shutdowns.
04:38House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries tore into the GOP for saying it could not provide SNAP benefits.
04:44Republicans hold press conferences every day, and you know what they do?
04:50They lie to the American people, and they haven't spoken a word of truth to the American people other than what Mike Johnson admitted today,
04:56which is that they want to rip away SNAP benefits from 42 million Americans.
05:03Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins appeared with House Speaker Mike Johnson at the Capitol today.
05:08Rollins said she is barred from tapping an emergency fund for SNAP.
05:15That's the contingency fund that we would use to send more money into the vulnerable communities that are harmed by a specific event like a hurricane.
05:26Even if it could flow, it doesn't even cover half of the month of November.
05:30So here we are again in two weeks having the exact same conversation.
05:34Delta Airlines and United want the shutdown to end.
05:39Airline delays are increasing.
05:41Now this morning, there are 50-minute delays related to staffing in Austin and 67 minutes in Nashville.
05:49Harris?
05:50Chad, thank you.
05:51Even the left-leaning Washington Post has had enough from Democrats.
05:55The editorial board argues, quote,
05:57The right answer is to reopen the government with a clean funding bill, ideally for a full year to get food stamps flowing and federal workers back in office and then have a debate about ACA, that is, Obamacare subsidies.
06:12Democrats openly acknowledge that they refuse to do this because it would mean giving up their leverage.
06:18If they persist, it could mean families start to go hungry.
06:22Senator Ashley Moody, Republican of Florida, member of Joint Economic Judiciary and Homeland Security Committees, great to have you today.
06:32Break this down for me and tell me, are there any signs of something happening before the expiration of SNAP?
06:41Well, I am so glad that you showed some of those clips and the responses of the Democrats.
06:47What's becoming abundantly clear is they cannot explain, even when being pleaded to by liberal-leaning organizations, unions, liberal media outlets, on and on and on,
07:01please pass a clean funding bill.
07:04This is a bipartisan bill to open back up the government.
07:06They have nothing to say because they have blindly followed Chuck Schumer in his quest to appease a radical base and save his hide.
07:18And they don't know why they're doing it.
07:20They're just blindly following him and neglecting to pay attention not only to the voters that put them there, but to their responsibilities to serve in a good faith way as a senator and operate the government.
07:32And the real challenge is, I believe, their entire point of this thing was to shut down the government.
07:40Yeah.
07:40Because you now have people that have been elected into office who don't like America, that want it to look like an entirely different country than it was set up to be.
07:49They want government to tell you how to live your life.
07:51They want you to tell you how to run your markets.
07:53I mean, it's a really scary time when you have people elected to office and their goal is to shut down the United States of America.
08:00And that's where we are right now.
08:02You know, it's so interesting, too, what you're saying about Representative Janelle Bynum in the House.
08:08She had already decided she was against this thing and clearly didn't even know what was in the clean CR or if there were any poison pills in it that she should vote against.
08:15But she'd made that decision and the power doesn't even really rest there now.
08:19It's in the Senate.
08:21And if the Senate does the right thing and reopens the government, that doesn't have anything to do with irrelevant Bynum at this point because it passed the House.
08:30Like, I don't think she understands how this works.
08:33No.
08:34And the challenge here is that you have senators that aren't stepping back and listening to the people that elected them to open this government back up.
08:42And that is a scary time.
08:44I mean, Congress is the American people.
08:48We are the place where the American people have their voices heard.
08:51And it appears we have senators right now that are ignoring the people that put them in office to represent them.
08:58I mean, there is a majority call to open back up this government.
09:02And it is a scary thing.
09:03And I think that's why you're hearing frustration from President Trump and so many other people.
09:07We're like, this is something we haven't had to deal with in the past.
09:11Yeah.
09:12All right.
09:12Let's get to this.
09:13We have been talking about the real pain American families are facing as Democrats refuse to reopen the government, admittedly for political leverage.
09:21We know that from Catherine Clark.
09:24Right.
09:24She spoke on behalf, I guess, of all Democrats when she spoke as a lawmaker last week.
09:28The images are stark and very sad.
09:32People are already lining up for food assistance at pantries across America.
09:35And many of those facilities cannot keep up with the now empty shelves.
09:40I mean, just in days.
09:42And the people who defend our nation are hit hard to many military families live paycheck to paycheck, especially those who've just entered those those younger fighters that we have.
09:52And so their early salaries matter and they qualify for them to make federal food assistance.
10:00So so they're banking on this, not expiring this weekend.
10:03This video from a YMCA in Killeen, Texas, operates a food bank for service members.
10:08It has been overwhelmed with service members bracing for missed paychecks soon.
10:14Many folks are deployed right now overseas from Port Hood or from other locations.
10:23And the last thing you want to have when you're deployed overseas is be worrying about the next paycheck and how do you take care of your family who are back wherever you wherever they live in the in the U.S.
10:36Senator Moody, we are blessed to have those men and women in concert around the world for us in our military.
10:42They will stay on their jobs and hold our sovereignty and our values.
10:46They ought to get paid to do it.
10:48All of these people.
10:49And by the way, this is the percentage of the population using snap right now while you give us your reaction.
10:55And this is the last thing we want them to be thinking about right now at this time in our world.
11:00I am from I come from a military family.
11:03It is heartbreaking.
11:04The oldest boy in our family is right now in active duty.
11:07He said to me, I have over 100 people that are cold and wet and just came off a training exercise and they have no idea if they're going to get paid.
11:15Are they going to get paid?
11:16What can I tell them?
11:17This is this is the longest shutdown in American history, the longest full shutdown in American history.
11:23It tells you something about the people that have been elected to the Senate that aren't paying attention to their role, their good faith role as a senator to push this government and open it back up for the people.
11:36And they can do that.
11:37We already have Democrats voting with us.
11:40We just need a few more to to stand up, grow a backbone and vote to serve their country.
11:46It is an incredibly important right now.
11:48I'm the newest senator.
11:49This place is broken.
11:50We need to fix it.
11:51And I'm pleading with my colleagues.
11:53Let's open back up the government so we can serve the people.
11:56Well, I tell you what, you're educating us because you're right.
11:59On Monday, we will tie the longest ever.
12:01And and that's because everybody's already leaving Washington.
12:04They started leaving yesterday.
12:06So it's almost like the weekend doesn't even count, but it counts for those families.
12:10It counts.
12:11I'm so glad you were in focus today.
12:14Great to be with you.
12:14Well, we have new details about an alarming potential terror attack that the FBI thwarted
12:20in Michigan.
12:21Thank the good Lord for that.
12:22But we'll get into what happened.
12:25And Biden's former vice president keeps trying to defend the ex-president.
12:31And it's bad.
12:33I did not question Joe Biden's capacity to be president at all for four more years.
12:41I did not question his capacity.
12:42I believe he was fully competent to serve.
12:45Do you really?
12:46Yeah, I do.
12:48That that surprises me, actually.
12:51Yeah, because he probably read at least the excerpts from her book that said the opposite.
12:55Her answers are leaving interviewers stunned.
12:58High profile members of her own political party wishing she would just stop talking.
13:02Power panel next.
13:08It has been a rough week for former President Joe Biden's VP Kamala Harris.
13:13She keeps trying to defend him apparently now in the interviews that have gotten increasingly
13:18cringey.
13:19Watch as an Australian journalist brutally calls her out for dodging the Biden competency
13:25question.
13:26Didn't you also have a responsibility?
13:28You were one of the people in the room.
13:30I did not question Joe Biden's capacity to be president at all.
13:36For four more years?
13:37I did not question his capacity.
13:38Wasn't his refusal to recognize his own frailties the reason that you faced a nearly impossible
13:45task?
13:46I ran against Donald Trump for president and Donald Trump ran on a platform that was in large
13:58part, I believe, misrepresenting his intentions to the American people.
14:02You combine that misrepresentation of intention with also what was at play in terms of massive
14:10amounts of mis and disinformation and a truncated calendar in terms of the clock.
14:17I want to interrupt you because that is a world-class pivot, but it is not the question that I asked
14:23you, which is about Joe Biden's failure to recognize his own frailties and what that did to you.
14:29Well, if it's a prize fight, my bet's on the Australian journalist.
14:35Well, then Kamala Harris managed to even stun Jon Stewart.
14:39I believe he was fully competent to serve.
14:42Do you really?
14:43Yeah, I do.
14:46That surprises me, actually.
14:48No, I do.
14:48But there's a distinction to be made between running for president and being president.
14:55Well, not if you win.
14:58Top Democrat strategist James Carville, probably speaking for just about everybody in his party.
15:05I'll be very clear here.
15:07No one that had anything to do with 2024, no Democrat wants to hear from you.
15:13Not Hunter Biden, not Harris, not Tim Woltz, not the consultants, not anything.
15:20If 2024 has left such a lingering bad taste in Democrats, we just don't, just get out of the way.
15:28Panel now, Jeremy Hunt, Veterans on Duty chairman, and Patrick Murphy, former Pennsylvania congressman.
15:35Great to see you both.
15:37Jeremy, I start with you because I understand from the Democrat perspective,
15:41she should just stop talking.
15:43That's what many of them are saying.
15:45But actually, it's kind of helpful because now we know.
15:49Well, you tell me why.
15:51Yeah, I mean, look, if you're like us, if you're on the right and you're looking at this,
15:55you're saying 2028 is already shaping up to look pretty good for us.
15:59I mean, if they still can't get the basic answers right to questions about this Biden cover-up,
16:03then it's going to be a very easy next few years.
16:06But let me just start by saying, when I watch this Kamala Harris media tour, this book tour that she's on,
16:15I've learned one thing, and that is nothing has changed about Kamala Harris.
16:20I mean, there have been no lessons learned.
16:23There have been no serious introspection.
16:26She is still vomiting out the same word salads, defending Joe Biden,
16:32and saying that, oh, I think he could have gone another four years.
16:34I mean, give it a break. The cat's out of the bag. It's no secret.
16:38We know there was a serious cover-up.
16:39We know that we had an auto-pin-in-chief for four years.
16:43And the number one question that everyone's going to ask is, what was your role in this cover-up?
16:48And for her to go on this book tour and not have an answer to that question,
16:52and just to keep going back to the same 2024 talking points that lost her that election,
16:56saying, oh, well, Biden's fine. I didn't have any issues.
16:59Look, she is off on the wrong start already.
17:01And honestly, I think it's political malpractice for the Democrat side at the highest level.
17:06But if you're like us and you're on the right, it's not a bad day.
17:10Patrick, a couple things to come back with from Jeremy right there.
17:14What I was going to say is we all know that it sounds like she's not done yet
17:18because that's what she told us last week and that she might run in 2028.
17:23So it matters now what she's doing with the spotlight on her.
17:27Your reaction.
17:28It does matter. And I actually agree with a lot of the points that Jerry's making.
17:32Not all of them, but a lot of the points.
17:34And we, you know, I acknowledge his service and his great West Point guy.
17:37I know him and his brother are great Americans.
17:39But to your question, Harris, for some reason, she has not gotten a memo
17:44that she's the first Democratic nominee for president in the last two decades, 20 years,
17:50five elections that did not win the popular vote.
17:53So what does that tell us? That tells us that that was a mandate last year not to run again.
17:59And I don't know why it hasn't sunk in.
18:02She's definitely reading the memo differently if she has it at all, though, Patrick,
18:07because she made it all about the current President Trump,
18:10who not only won the popular vote, but all the battleground states, too.
18:14She made it about him. Does that help your party?
18:16I don't think it does. I really don't think it does, Harris, to be honest with you.
18:21And, you know, like, Jeremy and I were both Army officers, right?
18:24Both served in combat. And we have this, we have seven Army values.
18:27One is loyalty. One is honor.
18:30We have a say in the Army, though.
18:32Loyalty above all else except honor.
18:35It's pretty simple to say, hey, we made mistakes.
18:38They did this and this and this.
18:39But you have to have that self-reflection and that honest accountability in your heart.
18:46And people articulate that.
18:47And we're not seeing it, clearly.
18:49Yeah, the loyalty part, though.
18:51Who is she loyal to, Jeremy?
18:53We'll end with you.
18:54Yeah, I mean, she clearly seems to still be loyal to Joe Biden
18:58and his lack of leadership in the last four years.
19:03And, you know, I think the number one thing,
19:04and I appreciate you bringing up this point,
19:06is if you want to talk about loyalty and duty,
19:09the Democrats for years have talked so much about, you know,
19:11put country over party.
19:13And they have all these kind of talking points.
19:14They're doing it now, the shutdown.
19:16And I just, I wish, I wish they would put their country first for a change.
19:22And like you said, in the shutdown, in this madness,
19:25condemn the last four years of us having an auto pen in chief
19:28and make sure that we are actually getting back on the right track.
19:31I think that is what we could all benefit
19:33if the Democrats would finally do that.
19:34But I'm not holding my breath.
19:38Yeah.
19:39You know what I love about the blessing of having this show in my life?
19:42I see you.
19:43You're both from different political perspectives,
19:46but you come together when it comes to the sovereignty of this nation.
19:49You both have served.
19:50And I know this weekend, you, along with many of us,
19:53will be praying for those families,
19:54all of them, military and civilian,
19:57who go without because of the shutdown.
19:59Gentlemen, good to have you.
20:00Thanks, Harris.
20:01Absolutely.
20:02ICE agents continue to face extreme danger
20:05as death threats against them surged by 8,000% in just the past year.
20:11Agents in California say they were forced to take dramatic action yet again
20:16to protect themselves.
20:18We'll look at that.
20:19Plus, we've seen a number of deadly crashes involving illegal immigrant truck drivers in recent weeks.
20:24How are they getting those driver's licenses?
20:26Do they even have them?
20:27Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
20:29If you are here driving on our streets illegally and our highways,
20:36you are endangering our citizens and your days are numbered.
20:41DHS is cracking down on illegal aliens behind the wheel and taking them off the roads.
20:46Acting ICE director Todd Lyons in focus next.
20:50President Trump's immigration crackdown is now hitting America's highways.
21:00Homeland Security says federal agents and state police have arrested 223 illegal aliens
21:06on Indiana roads near the Illinois state line.
21:10106 of them actually had commercial driving licenses.
21:13The arrests come after what DHS leaders are calling a disturbing pattern of deadly truck crashes
21:20involving illegals from Florida to California.
21:23Here's Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy.
21:25A number of those truck drivers that were illegal have criminal records.
21:32Individuals that have no place on American roads.
21:35And in the end, if it takes money, if it takes pulling states' ability to issue CDLs,
21:40we will stop at nothing to make sure that our roads are safe.
21:44Immigration and Customs Enforcement or ICE agents are also continuing to take criminals
21:50who are here illegally off the streets of Chicago.
21:54DHS Secretary Kristi Noem says they've made more than 3,000 arrests in just two months.
22:02And we are now actively monitoring that ICE facility.
22:05So this is live on the left-hand side.
22:07And it has been the site of some anti-ICE rioting and protests with crowds gathering
22:14every single Friday since early September.
22:17They have come back.
22:18And we don't know what the crowd will look like on this Friday, but they've showed up.
22:23So we're monitoring it.
22:25Senior correspondent Mike Tovin is there.
22:26Mike.
22:28And so far, Harris, the crowd here at the ICE facility in Broadview is pretty small.
22:32No clashes as far as everything that's going on with the immigration crackdown.
22:36This is probably the least impactful we should talk about is DHS Secretary Kristi Noem
22:41announcing that Operation Midway Blitz is going to involve a crackdown on illegals driving trucks.
22:46In recent weeks, we have seen cases like Josh Impritz Singh.
22:48He entered the country illegally in 2022 and was allowed to go free under the Biden administration.
22:54He's now accused of driving an 18-wheeler drunk
22:56and causing a crash that killed three people in California last week.
23:01Another case in Florida involves a man named Hajinder Singh.
23:04He entered the country illegally in 2018, failed his commercial driver's test 10 times,
23:09and is now accused of causing a crash that killed three people in Florida.
23:12Secretary Noem says there are 150 illegal migrants driving trucks that have been taken off the street,
23:17and there are more to come.
23:20Every single time one of these individuals gets behind the truck,
23:24on the wheel of a truck,
23:25they are in front of a deadly weapon that can kill other Americans as well.
23:30If you are here driving on our streets illegally and our highways,
23:34you are endangering our citizens,
23:36and your days are numbered.
23:38That's what I thought that I said.
23:40The ACLU and several advocacy groups have filed a federal lawsuit alleging inhumane conditions
23:45inside the ICE facility here in Broadview.
23:47The lawsuit alleges detainees are not fed properly.
23:51Pregnant women are denied extra food.
23:52The lawsuit also alleges overcrowding and unsanitary conditions.
23:56The lawsuit quotes one detainee saying they are treated worse than animals
23:59because people treat their pets better than that.
24:03And late last night,
24:04both houses of the Illinois legislature passed legislation
24:07that would allow people in Illinois to sue federal agents for things like unlawful detention.
24:12It also creates punishments if federal agents cover their faces or don't use their body cameras.
24:18It should be noted that Illinois Republicans are in the minority.
24:21All Illinois Republicans voted against the legislation.
24:24Harris?
24:25Mike, just a really quick follow-up for you.
24:27Are there any facts, receipts, anything to back up any of those claims
24:31that these people are making about the treatment of the worst of the worst in this country illegally?
24:37Well, the lawsuit just got filed.
24:39If you refer to the ACLU lawsuit,
24:42they've got quite a bit in terms of evidence that they're presenting in that particular case.
24:48But we haven't heard as a response from the government.
24:51All right.
24:52We'll cover it as it happens.
24:53Mike Tobin, thank you very much.
24:55You got it.
24:56In focus now, Todd Lyons, acting ICE director.
24:59Good to have you today.
25:01Let's just start there with that ACLU lawsuit and just get your reaction on it.
25:07Well, Harris, this is nothing new for us, right?
25:09We're constantly being accused of not treating detainees properly or not giving proper care.
25:16And, you know, I think one thing that's kind of people forget about the fact is that we are housing criminal illegal aliens, right?
25:22And they are in jail.
25:24They are detained.
25:25But, again, we have the higher standards when it comes to detainee care and what we do for them.
25:31So, again, I'm not too worried about this at all because we do this time and time again, and it's always proven that ICE is on the right side of this.
25:39All right.
25:39Let's move forward.
25:40There have been some big numbers in the last week or so of just the success of the operations that are going on under your watch.
25:48I want you to talk about what is working for you and what that means widely for the American public, all of those arrests that you're making.
25:57You know, Harris, what I think it shows is that ICE is now allowed to do our law enforcement mission.
26:02Secretary Noem has let us get out there and do the job we're sworn to do.
26:06Like you said, our numbers going up, our partnership with our other federal partners in state and local government, you know, this operation in Indiana, that is proof positive that cooperation between law enforcement, not driving a wedge between law enforcement, but cooperation at the highest level and state and local level is key to ensuring that we find arrest and deport not only the criminal aliens, but everyone that was let in under the last administration.
26:33We have to find these aliens. We have to go ahead and remove these public safety threats.
26:37And that's what ICE is doing.
26:38I'm so proud of the men and women of ICE and the work of our other federal partners.
26:42What we're doing right now is ensuring that the American people are getting what they voted for.
26:46And President Trump said he was going to make America safe again.
26:48And I'm really proud to say ICE is at the forefront of that.
26:51Look, it's not lost on the American public.
26:53I mean, the lawmakers and politics can do what they do, but it's not lost on anybody that these agents are operating under a lot of threat.
27:03So the optimism about their safety is also forefront right now, I would imagine, too.
27:09Agents in California saying that they were forced to, in fact, shoot in self-defense after a driver tried to run them over.
27:15ICE says it was conducting a vehicle stop when a suspect in a separate car pulled up and tried to run the officers over in reverse.
27:22And last week, another man was accused of trying to ram agents' cars in a dramatic incident that was caught on video.
27:30Attacks on immigration and customs enforcement showing no signs of slowing down.
27:34DHS released new data showing that death threats against your ICE agent surged 8,000 percent over last year.
27:43And, again, they still continue to be on the job and do their jobs.
27:49You know, they do, Harris, because they're proud of the work they do.
27:53They're sworn law enforcement officers, some of the bravest law enforcement officers in America.
27:56But, really, I think what drives them is the fact that they're doing the will of the American people.
28:01They have a president that supports them.
28:03And they have a secretary that's leading from the front.
28:05And they know that the administration has their back.
28:08You know, it's scary, these numbers.
28:10But the men and women of ICE know they're out there, you know, conducting a crucial mission.
28:15And, you know, what really bothers me is the fact that we have so many elected officials that are actually advocating running from law enforcement, resisting law enforcement, right?
28:24We didn't see these vehicles being used as weapons until, all of a sudden, we had elected officials vouching for these violent actions, saying it's okay to resist ICE.
28:34You know, that vehicle is a deadly weapon.
28:36And, you know, law enforcement officers all across this country, not just ICE, but state, local, federal level, have to protect themselves in self-defense.
28:44That is a two-ton weapon being used against them.
28:47And if they have to return fire, then they have to do what it takes to make sure they go home to their family every night.
28:52Acting Director of ICE, Todd Lyons, good to have you in Focus. Thank you.
28:56Thank you, ma'am. Good seeing you.
28:58Well, it is the final push to Election Day.
29:00Republican Jack Cittarelli could flip New Jersey's governorship from blue to red.
29:05Democrat Mikey Sherrill is calling in some big-name backup now.
29:09We'll get into it.
29:10Plus, the split inside the Democrat Party is now on full display in New York City's mayor's race.
29:17New York has no long-term future as a socialist city.
29:24We believe in corporate America.
29:27We believe in entrepreneurism.
29:28We believe in opportunity.
29:30We believe in jobs.
29:31We believe in business.
29:32That's what makes the engine run.
29:35Despite Andrew Cuomo's warnings about Zoran Mondani's socialist policies, that Democrat, because he's now running as an independent Cuomo, because Mondani beat him in the primary, that socialist Democrat still leads in the polls.
29:51Some warning now that a Mondani victory would hurt Democrat candidates nationwide.
29:57Steve Hilton, Republican candidate for the great state of California, governor there, in Focus Next.
30:03We planned well for retirement.
30:09No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
30:19You don't forget it.
30:22We lost my life.
30:25We lost my life.
30:26What in the world is that you are falling asleep?
30:28My life.
30:28My life.
30:29No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
30:32Пока небо сохранит от мои дни.
30:34Пока в небо еще сил набрать.
30:37Hey, Fox News alert now.
31:00FBI Director Cash Fattel says the agency has foiled a potential terror attack in Michigan.
31:06Patel says authorities have arrested multiple people allegedly plotting a violent attack
31:11for Halloween weekend.
31:12David Spunt.
31:13David.
31:14Well, Harris, the FBI Director made this announcement on social media earlier this morning describing
31:18the arrests involving people who were, quote, allegedly plotting a violent attack over Halloween
31:23weekend.
31:25End quote.
31:25Patel did not give any other substantial details, but let's go through what we know right
31:29now, Harris.
31:30The FBI made arrests in both Dearborn and Inkster, Michigan, related to this potential
31:34terrorist attack with international ties.
31:37It is unclear who was arrested, how many, or what they were exactly arrested for.
31:42The director put out the following statement, though, that Fox News obtained.
31:46Today's arrests are a reminder that the men and women of the FBI stand watch around the
31:51clock to keep Americans safe.
31:53Through swift action and close coordination with our local partners, a potential act of terror
31:58was stopped before it could unfold.
32:00The vigilance of this FBI prevented what could have been a tragic attack, and thanks to their
32:04dedication, Michigan will have a safe and happy Halloween.
32:07Our affiliate in Dearborn, Michigan, spotted the FBI walking around the neighborhood with
32:12the Michigan State Police early this morning.
32:14Dearborn police confirmed that the FBI was conducting activity in that area early this morning.
32:20The police department added there's no current threat to public safety.
32:23Now, sources say we expect to find out more information in the coming days regarding the
32:27arrests when the suspects will appear in court.
32:30The bottom line, though, the FBI says an attack was stopped, Harris, and the people of those
32:34two communities in Michigan can enjoy their Halloween with friends and family.
32:39Harris.
32:40Thank the good Lord.
32:41Definitely.
32:41Good to see you.
32:43Our internal polling in 21 said that we had a real shot.
32:53This time, the internal polling says a whole lot better.
32:56But listen, all I can tell you is wherever I go around the state, the energy is electric.
32:59The reception in minority communities has been overwhelmingly positive.
33:02And when Democratic mayors across this state are endorsing the Republican nominee, it tells
33:07you we're on to something.
33:08This is the final weekend before New Jersey voters choose a new governor.
33:13The current one is term limited.
33:15Republican Jack Cittarelli there made his closing case directly to voters in a Fox Town Hall
33:20last night.
33:21The latest Fox poll has Democrat Mikey Sherrill up by seven just outside the margin of error.
33:27Now, that is tight, especially given that the state has had a Democrat as governor 16 out
33:31of the last 24 years.
33:33Another poll this week, there are several like this one showing a dead heat with Sherrill
33:39leading by just one point.
33:41Here's a bit of Sean Hannity in that town hall.
33:44I joined and Jack Cittarelli.
33:47What will be your first official action as governor on behalf of the citizens that are
33:51soon to be red state of New Jersey?
33:53Executive order number one, no sanctuary cities, no sanctuary state.
33:57Executive order number two, we're bringing back to work our state workers.
34:03You pay for that state government.
34:04It'll be more customer focused to be there for you.
34:07And executive order number three, we're coming out of Reggie.
34:09The carbon tax policy has screwed New Jersey.
34:12All right.
34:13South Jersey and a lot of other pockets now have been more red recently.
34:19And he came within three points of beating the current governor of New Jersey last time.
34:26This is on.
34:27And you know how you really know?
34:28Because some big name Democrats are coming to town to help Mikey Sherrill at a rally tomorrow.
34:32Obama has been asked to be.
34:34They're noticeably not on the guest list.
34:35Joe Biden or Kamala Harris.
34:38Steve Hilton, Republican candidate for governor of California.
34:41Your reaction to what's happening in what some are calling a bellwether state race for the midterm elections.
34:48But it's fantastic to see the energy that's clearly building in Jack Cittarelli's campaign.
34:56He's a great candidate running a great campaign.
34:59Mikey Sherrill is a terrible candidate running a terrible campaign.
35:02But we're cheering on Jack Cittarelli, as is everybody who lives under the yoke of blue state rule with all the negative and destructive consequences of that.
35:13And you're seeing that in New Jersey, the high costs, the hassle, the climate extremism, all this nonsense that's making it impossible to make your family budget add up to run a small business.
35:24And Jack Cittarelli has been a great champion.
35:27I've been texting with Jack, actually, saying we are cheering you on and saying, look, you get it done this year in New Jersey.
35:33I'll get it done next year in California.
35:35A plan.
35:36You talked about affordability.
35:38Let's go there.
35:39It's a top issue for New Jersey, really all across the country.
35:42According to the Tax Foundation, New Jersey residents face the second highest tax burden in the nation, which includes the highest property taxes in the country and the highest corporate tax in the country.
35:52More from our town hall last night.
35:56My opponent voted no on the big, beautiful bill, which puts about $5,000 a year back in the pocketbooks of hardworking, middle class New Jersey.
36:04She voted no.
36:05She did vote for the for the Inflation Reduction Act, which did not reduce.
36:10She did vote.
36:11Cheryl did.
36:12Yeah.
36:12Yeah.
36:13Mike and Cheryl did.
36:13She did vote for that.
36:15And that had a lot of sweeteners in it for the green industry.
36:17So you were talking about those those wind combines that are out in the middle of the the ocean right now.
36:23Not yet.
36:23And there won't be.
36:24You're not going to let that happen.
36:26That's not.
36:27Well, that's where that money was going.
36:29Yeah, the crowd loved that.
36:31That's part of the what everybody calls the Green New Deal Part Two Inflation Reduction Act.
36:37And what's your response there?
36:38Well, it's so interesting because it's it's an exact parallel for what's going on here, because across the country, this climate, I call it climate elitism, because the people who really pay the price for the Democrats virtue signaling about how they're fighting climate change are regular working people in gas prices, in their electric bills.
36:59Electric bills are huge issue in this race in New Jersey.
37:02And of course, what we've got to do is just get rid of all that, dismantle it and go back to what we know works, which is affordable, reliable energy.
37:12And right now, when we have abundant oil and gas reserves in America, that's how we should be powering ourselves instead of these crazy schemes like the windmills.
37:21And by the way, we've got a crazy scheme for windmills from Democrats here in California.
37:24They actually want floating windmills off the coast of California.
37:28I'm going to kill that, too.
37:30You and Jack Cittarelli are potentially going to be very busy on that issue.
37:35Look, I did talk with him last night also about the impact of having a Republican atop a state right next door.
37:42And he said, we welcome all the new all of the new New Jerseyans who will be the New Yorkers leaving the city when Donnie wins.
37:49If that happens, the mayor's race right now is front and center, getting a lot of attention.
37:53The effect could stretch far beyond the five boroughs of New York City, Democrat socialists.
37:59And, you know, I also say because of his policies, communist Zoran Mamdani continues to hold a double digit lead over former Governor Andrew Cuomo in the latest Fox polling.
38:09Cuomo is now openly appealing to Republican voters, warning the city has no future.
38:14If Mamdani wins, the race is exposing the rift inside the Democrat Party between the far left and establishment moderates.
38:22One headline here, Mamdani's meteoric candidacy is deeply polarizing New York.
38:29The Faulkner focus hit the streets to hear directly from NYC voters.
38:32I'm voting against him.
38:35I believe in capitalism.
38:37I don't believe in socialism.
38:39It's never worked before.
38:40He is fundamentally unfit for the position of mayor.
38:44Not my candidate.
38:46I think he's excellent.
38:47I, in fact, just voted for him.
38:49I think he's young and he's got a lot of potential.
38:51I'm going to vote for him.
38:52I think he's great.
38:53And I hope that after he has this term, that he runs for even higher office.
38:59I don't think he has the experience necessary to run a city like New York.
39:03I am disappointed with the rhetoric coming out of his campaign.
39:06His inability to condemn Hamas.
39:10Hatred of Israel in general.
39:12As well as the pie-in-the-sky policies that have no chance of succeeding.
39:16It's a lot of free, free, free.
39:18I really fear crime will go up because I don't think he supports the police in the way that he should.
39:24As far as I hope, he's not going to be our next mayor.
39:27This is our biggest woman on the streets because our fine co-worker Nicole does those.
39:34That's the biggest one.
39:35People know what's going on here, Steve.
39:38Yeah, I mean, it's really terrifying, actually.
39:41When you think about the prospect of this far-left socialist taking control of our bigger city and the global heart of capitalism.
39:51The problem is, when you have Andrew Cuomo making these arguments, of course it's true that he's nothing like as extreme as Mamdani.
39:58He's clearly the lesser of two evils.
40:00But the problem is, the Mamdani campaign, which is all about cutting costs for New Yorkers and the costs of New Yorkers are sky high.
40:08Much of that was driven by Andrew Cuomo's policies, in particular the climate policies when he was governor of New York.
40:16And so he's in no position, really, to plausibly make those arguments.
40:20It's a really sad situation.
40:21And the other thing I just bring in is the anti-Semitism.
40:24Another word for that, by the way, is racism.
40:26And you're seeing now, all around the world, people are saying, what on earth will this say about America and about New York?
40:36That this racist is going to be elected mayor of New York.
40:41And what a terrible fear that will spread throughout the Jewish community around the world.
40:45It's a very, very sad situation.
40:47Still time to turn it around.
40:49New Yorkers can vote to stop this from happening.
40:51The fact that you said all of that is important because you face some of the same issues in your state.
40:59So we'll be watching all of this.
41:01Steve Hilton, good to have you.
41:02Outnumbered after the break.
