00:00Well, it's Saturday in America, and I'm Kayleigh McEnany. Today, the White House taking out another
00:08drug vessel in an armed conflict with cartels. Borders are Tom Homan is here. Plus, Republican
00:14Congressman Tim Burchett. It's day four of the government shutdown. Then, Curtis Sliwa in the
00:20New York City mayor's race as a Democratic socialist is poised to take over America's
00:25largest city. And Nick Sorter, a conservative journalist, arrested in Portland. He joins
00:31me in moments. But first, to this. Chaos in Portland, Oregon. 100 consecutive nights of
00:40violence against Portland's ICE office, according to the local ICE director. Bottle rockets striking
00:45the ICE building. Windows shattered. Lasers aimed at ICE officers' eyes and vehicles barricaded.
00:52And Portland's ICE director, meanwhile, says the federal facility is bubbled off from Portland
00:58police protection.
01:00They're not really supposed to respond to this building. There have been folks that have been
01:06assaulted right down here on the street, even across the street. And it takes Portland police
01:13a while to respond, or sometimes they don't respond at all. There's, like I said, like more of a bubble
01:19around the building where they, they don't respond all the time. And if they do respond, it's kind
01:25of an ad hoc. But Portland police did intervene at one point. They intervened to arrest independent
01:34journalist Nick Sorter. So that happened first. And then this happened later on. You can see Nick Sorter,
01:58he's being led away in handcuffs. Now that came after 10 individuals, he says, pushed him into a
02:06flower bed, one threw a punch at him. And as he was heading to his car, he stopped and he spoke with
02:13Portland police for about seven to eight minutes, he says. And at that point, Portland police, after
02:19speaking to him for eight minutes, they did not arrest the people who assaulted Nick Sorter. No,
02:25they arrested the journalist. Now, Portland police bureau says this, that they are quote,
02:31aware of public interest following several arrests. As with all such situations, arrests are based on
02:37observed behavior and probable cause, not political affiliation or public profile. Formal charges will
02:44be determined by the Multnomah County district attorney's office. So this is a developing situation.
02:52Nick Sorter believes that he was publicly targeted. He's about to join us in moments. Now, Nick Sorter,
02:59let's bring Nick in. He's still there in Portland, Oregon. He joins me now. Nick, what was going through
03:05your mind? You speak to the Portland police for seven to eight minutes, and then they arrest you
03:10and put you in handcuffs.
03:11Yeah, Kaylee, when they say they make arrests based on observed behavior in this, in these
03:20circumstances, I believe that observed behavior was being a conservative, just being totally honest
03:25with you. I, you saw the video, there was another video that came out yesterday showing a closeup of
03:31what happened. And nobody, even my biggest detractors cannot take that video and say I was the aggressor in
03:39the situation, simply trying to walk down the sidewalk with my camera. I'm actually walking
03:44to my car at the time and, uh, and they jump in the way they block me. They start surrounding me
03:50and I keep trying to walk around them and they continue to push me. And then eventually one of
03:54them throws a punch. And then, uh, and then, uh, you know, 20 seconds later, I end up in a hole.
04:00And then what do I do after that? I get up and I walk over to the Portland police, not to report
04:05anybody because honestly, I didn't expect anything to be done anyway. Uh, I just walk over there for
04:11a little bit of safety. Maybe it'll calm down a little bit for a few minutes. Uh, but instead I
04:17sit there seven or eight minutes and a sergeant walks up and said, and, and, and points to, uh,
04:23points to me and says to the officers, cuff them. No reason given the officers didn't know what they
04:28were doing. But in Portland here, Kaylee, at this point, the officers, your, your rank and file
04:36officers do not do anything unless they are given a direct order to, uh, by one of their superiors. So
04:44somebody made the call to have me arrested. We just don't know who yet. And I think we're going
04:50to find out where any of the agitators who assaulted you arrested. Yeah. Well, that, that,
04:58that is to be, uh, to be found out because the, the agitators decided they're going to wear masks
05:03and such. So it was very hard to be able to positively identify who is who. So I don't know,
05:09but I do know that that entire night in the city of Portland, while I was in the jail,
05:15three people came through three. So in this entire major U S city, there were only three
05:21arrests total in the rest of the city that entire night. And it's a weirdly, uh, coincidental,
05:27I guess, that I just happened to be one of them when I'm just on the street with a camera. I mean,
05:34there, there are people with iPhones everywhere, recording everything while you're down here and
05:40nobody, nobody has been able to produce any evidence that I was an aggressor in this situation.
05:46What did police say to you when you're in the police car? What'd they say to you then? What'd
05:50they say as they were processing you? Not much of anything, actually, Kaylee,
05:55because they didn't know for an entire hour, what they were charging me with. I was, uh,
06:00I was in the back of the squad car asking the, the officers and they had no idea they had to
06:05eventually, like we were getting close to the jail and they're like, well, we still don't have
06:10charges for him. So they had to pull over and wait. And then, uh, they started, they got a phone
06:16call from their, uh, uh, Lieutenant who told them to get out of the car. That way they could talk on
06:22the phone without me hearing the conversation. Uh, and then they came back with, uh, a disorderly
06:28conduct charge, which I don't know about you, but the videos that you've probably seen coming out of
06:34here, disorderly conduct, you know, setting things on fire in the middle of the street,
06:40screaming in megaphones at three o'clock in the morning, uh, spray painting the sides of
06:44federal buildings, assaulting officers. Is any of that disorderly conduct or is, you know,
06:51just being a conservative, is that a threat to, you know, their order out here? So that they call
06:57that disorderly. I don't know. We're trying to figure it out. I wasn't aware that, uh, journalism
07:00was disorderly contact conduct. I guess now I am Nick. Um, do you plan on suing the city of Portland
07:06or the Portland police bureau? Well, that's to be determined, but what, uh, I'm not going to show
07:13my cards on that one just yet, but what I will say is, uh, I did get a phone call, uh, from attorney
07:19general Pam Bondi yesterday, which was, uh, very, uh, very nice of her to, uh, to do. She was very
07:25engaged. I mean, just moments after me stepping out of that jail cell, uh, promised that there
07:32was going to, that she was going to order immediately a full investigation into the
07:37Portland police bureau. And, uh, not, not just for my arrest, but the fact that they didn't
07:42bother arresting the dude or the, uh, uh, the chick, or at least what we think is a chick.
07:47You really don't know out here, Kaylee, to be totally honest with you, uh, that beat Katie
07:51Davis court, the post millennial reporter with a poll the other day, a police officer
07:56was standing right next to the person and didn't bother, you know, prosecuting or arresting
08:03or even saying anything to the individual, just let it happen. So the DOJ full investigation
08:08on both of those things. And, uh, I think they're going to be, uh, royally screwed when
08:14what's uncovered, not just in our cases, but in cases of people that don't have the platform
08:20or more voices that we have to complain about it. If that makes sense.
08:23No, it makes total sense. Nick Sorter, uh, you're a brave journalist and I hope that you
08:28keep up the journalism despite everything that you've incurred a night in jail and so much
08:33more. Thank you so much for your bravery. Well, from Portland to Chicago, ice just released
08:40new drone footage. Look at this. This depicts an agitator trying to obstruct ice operations
08:46last week. You see the individual launch a tear gas canister in the direction of federal
08:53agents. And in another video, a separate agitator violently grabs the mask off of an ice officer.
09:01Ice in fact says that the individual in question actually pulled the hair out of his beard. Acting
09:07ice director Todd Lyons with me now director Lyons. I mean, I'm looking at this and I hear from
09:13Chicago officials that you all are militarizing the city, but based on this new footage that just
09:19came out today, it seems like you're just defending federal agents. Yeah, Kaylee, it's bad. You know,
09:25and the bad thing is we've asked for help. We've asked for help from the Broadview Police Department.
09:29We've asked for help from the Illinois State Police and no one's come to our aid, right? So we have to
09:34take it upon ourselves to make sure our men and women are safe and to make sure we can still do our
09:38mission. And just that video alone, you see it. Those people aren't exercising their First Amendment.
09:43They are out there, like you said, throwing tear, tear grass canades. They're coming out there with
09:48shields, bats, gas masks. They're ready to do battle. And it's really, they're impeding law enforcement
09:54and they're threatening ice agents and it has to stop. You know, I just spoke with Nick Sorter and
09:58that's another ice facility out there in Portland. And it was described that there's a bubble around the
10:03ice facility and there's two liaison officers on either side and the police don't go in the bubble.
10:09Explain to our viewers what ice is and is not allowed to do. It's not their job to go and break
10:15up fisticuffs or assaults or brawls. What can they legally do inside that bubble without the help of
10:21police? You know, what we're doing right now, Kaylee, is protecting that building, right? So you've heard
10:26them talk about we're under siege over 100 days, right? You know, I was there when they had the
10:33assaults and the siege of the building back in 2022 when we totally lost that building
10:38to Antifa. So we can't even go do our mission. All they're doing right now is protecting that
10:43perimeter, protecting the building, protecting the people inside, just so people don't take
10:47it over like they did in the past. You know, ice officers and agents have gone out and helped
10:51actually protesters that have been assaulted by their own protesters, right? We've rented medical
10:57aid to those people. We've helped people that were getting attacked by these crazy leftists
11:02that come out there every night. But we can't even go out and do our law enforcement mission
11:06because we have to hold that building. And the field office director is right. There is a bubble
11:10around it. You know, we started to see Portland police show up. And unfortunately, Nick was a
11:14victim of that. But, you know, it wasn't until President Trump actually showed the strength
11:19to say, hey, we're going to take back that, you know, and protect our ICE agents. We're going
11:23to send a National Guard did all of a sudden we start seeing local support. But that's what we
11:28needed all along. It was local support to make sure we can do our law enforcement mission.
11:31We're just not getting it. Director Lyons, I do want to ask you about this story. We reported it
11:36first here last week. And this is the Iowa superintendent of Iowa's district, the largest
11:41school district in Iowa, was found to be in the country illegally with a final removal notice.
11:46And not just a criminal record. We learned yesterday, based on DHS documents, he had a
11:53long criminal record. Take a look at this. You see all of these degrees, charges here,
11:59third degree on authorized use of a vehicle, reckless driving. The list goes on. How does
12:04a guy with all these charges become the head of Iowa's biggest school district?
12:11You know, and that's the scary part, right, is the fact that you see that he came in the
12:15country in 1994, gets arrested for narcotics, leaves, comes back. He was denied a green card
12:22four times, and then ordered lawfully deported and removed by a judge. Yet he still led one
12:29of the largest school districts in the country. He was carrying a loaded firearm. He fled from
12:33police. So is this the person you want, running a school district, being around your children?
12:38And what's even worse, Kaylee, is the people of Des Moines came and protested the ICE office
12:43in the federal building for arresting this guy. This guy isn't someone we want. This is the
12:47people that Secretary Noem and President Trump have pledged to get out of our country. And he
12:52was leading one of our largest schools. It's a failure on the system, and it just shows that
12:57there are so many people against the law enforcement mission of ICE that they would champion a felon
13:01like this that's involved in our school districts. And he had multiple fake degrees. You'd think the
13:06school district would do a reference check or a criminal background. Unbelievable. Acting ICE
13:11Director Todd Lyons, thank you for your time. Up next, Democrats claim they do not want
13:17health care for illegal immigrants. Well, is that true? Justice Brett Kavanaugh's would-be
13:23assassin has been sentenced to just eight years in prison. Now, that's far less than the 30 years
13:29that prosecutors asked for when Nicholas Roski pleaded guilty. Madeline Rivera is live in Washington
13:35with more. Madeline, what's the reaction? Kaylee, Attorney General Pambadi is furious by this
13:40sentence, and she's planning to take action, saying on ICE the attempted assassination of Supreme Court
13:45Justice Brett Kavanaugh was a disgusting attack against our entire judicial system
13:50by a profoundly disturbed individual. The Justice Department will be appealing the woefully
13:55insufficient sentence imposed by the district court, which does not reflect the horrific facts
13:59of this case. U.S. District Judge Deborah Boardman, a 2021 Biden appointee, says she considered a
14:05number of factors before handing down the sentence. While she called the plot to kill Kavanaugh
14:10reprehensible, Boardman also says Nicholas Roski has shown remorse and taken responsibility for her
14:15actions. Court filings show on June 7, 2022, Roski, who is transgender and now goes by the name of
14:22Sophie, she traveled from Los Angeles to Kavanaugh's home in Montgomery County, Maryland. Roski said she
14:27was upset about the leaked Supreme Court draft decision reversing Roe v. Wade and the shooting in
14:32Uvalde, Texas. But when she got to Kavanaugh's house, she saw his protective detail guarding the
14:38property. Roski then called 911 and turned herself in. So prosecutors say Roski only surrendered after
14:45seeing law enforcement adding that she had spent months planning an assassination attack on multiple
14:50sitting justices. Roski's defense denies that, and they argue Roski stopped her plans out of her own
14:56volition after getting a phone call from her sister and not because she saw police. Boardman says she also
15:02took into account the president's executive order requiring transgender inmates to be detained in
15:06prisons that correspond with their sex at birth. And that's part of the reason why she granted a
15:11lower sentence. Kayleigh. Madeline, thank you. Well, as we enter day four of the government shutdown,
15:19we have heard a common refrain from Democrats. They are categorical on this one point. They claim
15:25Republicans are lying when they say that Democrats want to provide health care for illegal immigrants.
15:30The idea that this is an effort to make sure that illegal immigrants can get health care is just
15:37not true. Don't keep saying lies that Democrats want to give full health care to illegal immigrants.
15:46When they say that undocumented immigrants are going to get this money, it's a lie, plain and simple.
15:53No federal dollars are spent on people who are undocumented.
15:58It's a lie. But perhaps they've forgotten this.
16:03Raise your hand if your government plan would provide coverage for undocumented immigrants.
16:08I am opposed to any policy that would deny in our country any human being from access to public
16:20safety, public education, or public health, period. You cannot let people who are sick,
16:26no matter where they come from, no matter what their status, go uncovered.
16:30We do ourselves no favors by having 11 million undocumented people in our country be unable to
16:37access health care. So we brought the receipts. Joining me now is Republican Tennessee Congressman
16:42Tim Burchett. You know, Tim, the CNN fact checker emerged from the dark cave that they had been
16:48hiding in. And here's what they found. I want to pull this up. Fact check CNN. Trump falsely claims
16:54Democrats want to give free health care to illegal aliens in government shutdown battle. Well,
16:59as I provided for my friend and colleague Jessica Tarlow yesterday, page 57 of Schumer's resolution
17:05does just that. Tell us what exactly is going on. Well, it's Schumer. It's section 2141. And
17:13actually, Jake Tapper, of all people on CNN, called out Hakeem on it. And he was just dumbfounded. You
17:19never, you can't imagine that they're not, you know, handing them out the free stuff. But the reality
17:25is it's Chuck Schumer's, it's his ego, ma'am. All this is, is Schumer sees in his rear view mirror,
17:31Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. And he knows that a literally Marxist communist is going to win
17:37the mayor of New York. And that is Schumer's base. And he realizes he's lost his base.
17:43So he'll shut the whole country down just to, just to stay in power, which is what we've seen time
17:48and time again. You know, the Democrat party is supposed to just party of the youth. And I mean,
17:53look at Pelosi and Schumer. I mean, I think Schumer might've been skiing behind Noah's Ark or
17:58something. These people are ancient and they keep trying to run the country and they're lying. And
18:03the thing that you got to realize now, the cool thing is, is that ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, and the
18:11cluckheads at the view. They're spewing out all this, this, these lies, but now nobody is listening
18:17to them anymore. The Democrat party in originally, everything the DNC would put out, the leadership
18:23would put out, and then they would all have to have cover there because nobody would check it out.
18:28But people are reading these bills. They're checking it out. They're, they're finding out
18:32on page 57 that the Democrats are lying and they've got nowhere to run. The Republicans voted to keep
18:37government open. And the Democrats want $1.5 trillion in there to basically fund healthcare
18:44for illegals. And it's in the bill. Well, Congressman Burchett, you know, Chuck Schumer,
18:48he said last night that you're the problem. He said this, that you and the House of Representatives,
18:53you guys are going home and getting paid rather than staying and doing your job. But I mean,
18:58last time I checked, the House of Representatives passed a CR. That's correct. Chuck needs to go back to
19:05his front porch and, and grill raw hamburgers with cheese on them, man, because that's about all
19:10he's good for. He's lying. The public knows it. He's caught up in it. And, and the Democrats have
19:15nowhere to run. Republicans passed the bill. We, we voted to keep government open. They continuously lie
19:22and no one is buying it. I mean, even CNN at some point is, is calling them out on this stuff
19:27and nobody's buying it. We've already done our work. We're just waiting on the Democrats.
19:31Congressman Burchett, I want to ask you something about something that gravely concerns me as a mom.
19:36This went viral this week that on Netflix, there is actually transgender content. I was very disturbed
19:43by this. I went and looked, I allowed my daughter to watch some shows that I vetted that I like.
19:48One of the shows was a remake from when I was a child. I thought it was just fine. I Googled it.
19:53As it turns out, there's transgender content in there. As it turns out, it was a show that she was
19:57watching at the age of five years old. Now I'm deleting Netflix from the iPads and it'll look
20:03very closely. What can you do in Congress? Elon Musk, he said this, cancel Netflix. You see it
20:09there. What can you guys do in Congress? Well, Elon was kind enough to retweet one of my tweets
20:15when I, or exes, when I was on the Benny show this past week. We need to call the heads in of
20:20Netflix and some of these other left-wing propaganda outlets that are out there.
20:27You know, we have a First Amendment concern, of course, but this is the FCC and there is
20:31something called community standards. And we need to know, why are they putting this thing out?
20:35I've dealt, I've kind of dug into this a little bit more. And the way they do it is they do these
20:42scenes and they switch them around very fast. You know, the old days, Andy Griffith, it was just
20:46one camera and it was great. And they do different scenes and it's moving around every few seconds.
20:52And that releases certain things in young children's minds. And they are, and we need to
20:58find out why are they doing it like this? Because this is, this is attracting their brains. This is
21:02molding their brains. In the fifties and sixties, they did a study one time and they put a, they put a
21:08soft drink. They put three slides of it in a movie one time, you know, a soft drink with the water
21:13coming off the side. You could tell it was really cold. And, but you didn't see it, but your brain
21:18picked it up. And they made that illegal because people were rushing out buying soft drinks, of course.
21:23And this is exactly what they're doing now. It's possible that Congress needs to outlaw this type
21:29of activity. And it's, it's really just a way to, to move kids' young, young minds. And the one thing we
21:36found out during COVID, we started looking over kids' shoulders at what their teachers, what they were
21:40getting from their schools. And these young Americans, these young children, we ought to have
21:45more control over are soaking this stuff up. And that's why you're seeing the explosion of,
21:50of transgender and all this, this, and to me, ma'am, it's demonic. I'm a believer. I know you're
21:56a believer, but I believe this, this is from the pits of hell. And I, and I thank you for being a
22:00working mom and you, and you're a good mama. So thank you. I totally agree. It's good versus evil.
22:05And this is kids Netflix. And I'm thrilled to hear that you're going to call some of these guys
22:10before Congress to get some answers. I'll be watching that hearing. Congressman Tim Burchett,
22:13thank you. Well, up next, a democratic socialist poised to take over America's largest city.
22:19It's all but certain that a self-proclaimed democratic socialist could take over America's
22:24largest city. Now here are our latest Fox News polls. The first one is before last Sunday. This
22:28is when Eric Adams was still in the race. And as you'll see, mom, Donnie's at 45, Cuomo 31,
22:33Curtis Sliwa 13. That is when rather Eric Adams dropped out. You see that Curtis Sliwa
22:39picked up some percentage points. So too did Cuomo. Mom, Donnie still tied at that 45, 45 mark with
22:46and without Adams. Now, what happens if the field was to winnow further? Let's move from Fox News
22:51polling to New York Times. And what you see here is mom, Donnie at 48 and Cuomo at 44. So it becomes
22:59a nail biter margin of error race. Now in our Fox poll back to Fox, what we see is this.
23:05What do people like about democratic socialist mom, Donnie? Well, they like his policies like
23:10his ideas. They think he cares about people and they think he represents change. What do they like
23:17about Cuomo? They think he's experienced. Remember, he's a former governor. They say he's a strong
23:21leader and there's 6% who say he did a good job during the COVID pandemic. I'd like to meet that 6%.
23:27And what specifically do you like about Curtis Sliwa? He's tough on crime. The Guardian Angels
23:33history with New York City, they see him as a real New Yorker. And those polled say he's a tough
23:39and a strong leader. But in a twist of irony, well, Curtis Sliwa's tough on crime backers paved the way
23:47for soft on crime, Mom, Donnie. Curtis Sliwa's candidacy keeps as a three-way race. And as you saw,
23:54that could mean the democratic socialist takes the throne in New York City.
24:00I am here to fight. I carry the Republican banner and I am not surrendering or retreating.
24:06I think it would be a horrible day for all America and Republicans if, in fact,
24:12Yohan Mandami became the mayor. And I'm intent in 36 days to try to prove that.
24:19I'm joined now by Curtis Sliwa, live in studio. Curtis, thank you for being here.
24:23Oh, my pleasure.
24:24Great to have you. I want to play a clip. You're vowing to stay in the race,
24:28but I want to play a clip from John Katzmatidis, one of your backers, a strong Republican. Listen
24:31to what he says.
24:34Look, we love Curtis. We want him to do as well as he can. And he would make a great mayor.
24:40But if, you know, I said to him, let's, you know, wait a week, wait two weeks, wait three weeks.
24:47But if you don't see a path to winning, then, yeah, I think you, you know, you got to do what
24:52you got to do, which means get out to save the city.
24:57What's your response to that?
24:58First of all, he's never been a big backer of mine. In 2021, when I ran against Eric Adams,
25:04he didn't support me. He supported Eric Adams, who, by the way, I was supposed to drop out for
25:10when Cuomo lost the primary. Remember, oh, you got to drop out for Eric Adams. Are you kidding?
25:15This guy just dropped out. Everybody plays a dropout game. John never supported me for mayor
25:20in the beginning, doesn't support me today. I don't work for John Katzmatidis. They put this
25:26misnomer out. I'm independent and autonomous. The Republican candidate, a populist candidate who
25:33also has an independent save the animals line, first ever in electoral history where we call for
25:39no kill shelters and putting animal abusers in jail. A lot of women are going to vote on that line,
25:44and they are the majority of the voters.
25:46And what do you say to a Republican voter, maybe? I've seen Republicans who say, look,
25:50I would never vote for Cuomo. He does not represent me. I've seen some who say,
25:54I just can't stomach a Democratic socialist. So what would you say to that voter who says,
25:57is this paving the way for a socialist takeover?
26:00Well, first off, what's the difference between Cuomo and Mandami when it comes to crime?
26:04They're both for no cash bail. Remember, Cuomo started that and destroyed the state of New York.
26:09The criminals actually run free now. We live in a state and city where we lock up toothpaste and
26:15we don't lock up criminals because of Cuomo. He raised the age. Now we have juvenile drive-by
26:20shootings because of Cuomo. He doesn't want a prison. He wants to close Rikers Island.
26:25So does Mandami. They share all of these anti-cop, anti-decent quality of life situations that would
26:34emerge. Emerging Venezuelan gang more violent than Tren de Aragua targets rural America to experts warns.
27:0321 members of anti-Tren named in April federal indictment. An emerging Venezuelan gang has the
27:13potential to be more violent than Tren de Aragua and target rural America, according to an expert.
27:21Members of the Venezuelan-based gang have formed the anti-Tren gang, which federal authorities say
27:28is made up of almost exclusively former members of Tren de Aragua. In the newly unsealed April federal
27:37indictment, prosecutors accused 21 men of running drugs and prostitution rings in New York City.
27:44According to the indictment, members of anti-Tren protect their power and territory through various
27:50criminal acts, which includes violence towards members of Tren de Aragua, preserving and protecting
27:57the power and territory of anti-Tren and its members and associates through acts of murder,
28:04assault, other acts of violence, and threats of violence, including acts of violence and threats
28:10of violence directed at members and associates of Tren de Aragua, the indictment states.
28:15Members of anti-Tren are also enriched through illegal smuggling, which includes young Venezuelan
28:23women, sex trafficking of women, drug trafficking, and armed robberies, federal officials allege.
28:31Robert Charles, Assistant Secretary of State at the U.S. State Department's Bureau of International
28:37Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs from October 2003 to March 2005, and Maine,
28:44candidate, told Fox News Digital he thinks the anti-Tren group has the potential to become
28:50the more violent and even more violent than Tren de Aragua.
28:56I've read some of the public accounts that suggest that this offshoot group is trying to distinguish
29:01itself by being more violent, Charles said. With MS-13, they had various tests and things they
29:08went through, and there were offshoots that become and became more violent than the original group.
29:16Charles said gangs like anti-Tren attempt to dominate an area geographically, and one of the
29:21ways they accomplish that is through violence and intimidation. They are also doing violence in an
29:28environment which they're taking advantage of people. They're taking advantage of the homeless. They're taking
29:34advantage of rural America, Charles said of anti-Tren. Charles said gangs like anti-Tren are targeting rural
29:45parts of America because that's where they can maximise their gain with little risk.
29:50We don't have the infrastructure in very rural states to pull up patrols through the northern part of
29:58the state, and frankly, to even keep drugs from coming in, and the gangs from coming in,
30:05Charles said of his state Maine. Criminals are bad guys, but they aren't stupid. And so what they look for,
30:13they look for opportunities to maximise their gain with the least possible risk. Charles said he thinks
30:20the group will be eager to get into fights with Tren de Aragua, which is why authorities need to work
30:25fast to quash the group. I think right now their numbers are relatively modest, Charles said. If you
30:33look away from it, if you pretend that it's not important, if you appease it instead of deterring it,
30:39then it will absolutely grow. That's just the nature of crime. The anti-Tren gang has a presence
30:46that expands beyond New York City. In September 2024, a Texas woman was robbed at gunpoint,
30:54pistol whipped and tied up in her Dallas area home, located in the ritzy neighbourhood of Bluffview,
31:01where the average home value is $880,000, according to Zillow.
31:06The robbery happened around 10pm on September 21st, 2024, after the woman had just returned home from
31:15dinner. The men involved in the incident allegedly targeted the woman in her driveway, forced her
31:21into her home, then tied her up at gunpoint, according to records obtained by Fox News. The men
31:28involved allegedly threatened to cut her fingers off. Using Google Translate to communicate with the
31:34victim, the suspects left the house with $75,000 worth of jewellery, a Ferret Garmel handbag, a Judith
31:42Lieber handbag, a Gucci purse, coins from a box inside the house, and the victim's phone.
31:49Documents obtained by Fox News at the time indicated that Manuel Hernandez Hernandez, one of the men
31:56arrested said the other men were part of the anti-train gang, something the Dallas Police Department didn't comment on.
