01:04Did the lights go off yet, Susan?
01:06Yeah, just a moment ago.
01:07Hurry, I want to find out what happened to Zatar.
01:10Me too. I can't imagine how they're going to get out of that mess they're in.
01:14Remember last night, when we left Zatar and his robot, they had just crash-landed on that weird planet?
01:20Yeah, when they looked out through the portholes of their spaceship, all these icky green monsters were looking back at them.
01:26Zatar decided the only way to find out if the creatures were friendly or hostile was to confront them face to face. He checked his ray gun and slowly opened the hatch.
01:36Be careful, Zatar!
01:37The little creatures jumped back away from the spaceship in fright and stared at Zatar from a safe distance, chattering amongst themselves in a strange alien tongue.
01:47Susan!
01:48Susan, what are you doing in there? Go to sleep!
01:50Yes, Daddy!
01:52Boy, that story is sure exciting. Wouldn't it be far out if something like that really happened?
01:59You mean like actually meeting some kind of creature from outer space?
02:02Yeah!
02:03Well, I don't think we have to worry about that ever happening around here.
02:08Hey, what's that?
02:10What?
02:11It's some kind of weird noise way off in the distance somewhere.
02:14I don't hear anything.
02:15Maybe I've been reading you too much science fiction lately.
02:19No, really. I can hear it getting closer.
02:21Good night, Ben. See you in the morning.
02:23Hey, you're right, Ben. I hear it too.
02:27That's the weirdest.
02:30That's the weirdest.
02:32Wow!
02:33What is it, Susan?
02:35That's the biggest shooting star I ever saw.
02:40It crashed near the river.
02:41Wow! Let's go take a look.
02:48Gee, the forest seems awful quiet.
02:50Spooky is more the word for it.
02:56Robbie, what's wrong? Did something scare you?
03:00What did you see, Robbie? Tell us!
03:05You were asleep.
03:07And the shooting star woke you up.
03:09Yes, go on, Robbie.
03:13You went to investigate and saw...
03:17Saw a what?
03:21A monster?
03:25Susan, listen!
03:26Listen to what?
03:27Shhh!
03:30I've never seen the rescue animals this scared before.
03:43They're not the only ones scared.
03:46Oh, my gosh.
03:51Quiet, lassie.
03:52What is it, Susan?
03:53What do you see?
03:54I don't know.
03:55It looks like something from another planet.
03:58You mean a monster from outer space?
04:01That's exactly what I mean.
04:03Wow, maybe the shooting star wasn't a shooting star at all.
04:06Maybe it was that thing's spaceship.
04:08Come on, Ben. Let's follow him.
04:11Uh-uh. Not me.
04:12I'm not going after any space monster.
04:14There's nothing to be afraid of, Ben.
04:16Lassie and I will be with you.
04:17I don't know, Susan.
04:18Maybe we should tell Dad first.
04:21But he'd just think we're imagining it.
04:22We need proof that the space monster really exists.
04:26What kind of proof?
04:27A photograph.
04:29I brought my camera.
04:30I'm still not sure it's such a good idea.
04:32What do you think, Lassie?
04:36I guess we'll be safe as long as Lassie's with us
04:39unless that monster has some kind of secret ray gun or something.
04:42Okay, let's go.
04:43He's already got a head start on us.
04:46We shouldn't be hard to find as long as that beeping sound keeps up.
04:54Do you see anything, Susan?
04:56Not yet.
04:57Maybe he's doubled back and now he's sneaking up behind us.
05:01I doubt it. Lassie would have picked up his scent.
05:03He probably just got away.
05:05Darn.
05:06Now nobody will believe us.
05:07Hey, Lassie must have found something.
05:12What did you find, girl?
05:14What is it? A giant footprint or something?
05:16I'm not sure, Ben. It looks like a drop of blood.
05:20Blood? I'll bet it's green or purple or some neat color like that, huh?
05:24No, it's just plain old red.
05:27Red?
05:28He must have been hurt when he crashed.
05:29Come on, we've got to find him.
05:37Susan, the space monster's coming behind us.
05:52Quick, behind this tree.
05:58You ready to run, Ben?
05:59As soon as I get his picture, we've got to make a break for it.
06:02We're all right.
06:03Here he comes.
06:07Toothless.
06:08Toothless?
06:13Toothless, are you all right?
06:15What were you afraid of, Toothless?
06:17Did you see the space monster?
06:19Where did you see him, Toothless?
06:21Where did you see this monster?
06:24Are you sure?
06:26We just came from there.
06:27I told you, Susan.
06:28He's doubling back so he can get us with his ray gun.
06:31Let's go home.
06:33Maybe you're right, Ben.
06:34We'll just have to convince Dad without pictures.
06:38Lassie, what's wrong?
06:39It's him.
06:40He's coming.
06:41Let's get out of here.
06:42Shh, Ben.
06:47There he is.
06:50I got him, Ben.
06:51I got the monster's picture.
06:52Come on, let's go home and tell Dad.
06:54Now just calm down a moment, Ben.
06:55I'm sure you and Susan saw something, but I'm also sure there's a logical explanation for it.
07:09But Dad, we both saw it and Susan took some pictures.
07:12I think you both had a little too much science fiction before bedtime.
07:15Why don't we wait and let Susan's pictures tell the story?
07:18Oh, no!
07:22What's wrong?
07:23Didn't they come out?
07:24Only the one of Toothless.
07:26I was so excited when I saw the monster, I forgot to focus.
07:29He's nothing but a blur.
07:31You can't even see him.
07:32Are these light spots the monster?
07:34Yes.
07:35He had a real shiny suit that glowed in the dark.
07:37Okay, why don't we get dressed and check this out?
07:40Yeah, I gotta see this space monster.
07:53Hey, I think Lassie's found something.
07:55It's a footprint of some sort.
07:57An unusual pattern, too.
07:59Wow!
08:00It sure is big.
08:02Look!
08:03The prints lead off this way.
08:04Let's check them out.
08:10Dad, look at this!
08:27What is it?
08:29It feels like cloth.
08:31But I've never...
08:33Wow!
08:35It disintegrated!
08:36Now do you believe us?
08:38Quick!
08:40Turn off those flashlights.
08:43Someone or something is headed straight for us.
08:46Get ready to grab him.
08:48Now!
08:50Watch for that leg!
08:51Grab his arm!
08:53Got him, Susan?
08:55Give us some light.
08:58Gene Fox!
08:59Mr. Turner!
09:00Jackie!
09:01You scared me half to death!
09:04Sorry, Gene.
09:05Guess we're all a little jumpy.
09:07And for good reason.
09:08There's a spaceman in these woods.
09:10Now, Susan.
09:11You mean that fireball that crashed near here?
09:13I saw it, too.
09:15That's what I was looking for just now.
09:18Something tells me we may not have to look any farther.
09:23Lassie, no!
09:24Come back!
09:25Susan!
09:27Lassie!
09:28I'm sorry, Lassie, but if that space creature sees you, there's no telling what might happen.
09:39Ah!
09:47Boy!
09:48That was too close for comfort.
09:49Susan!
09:50What are you two doing?
09:51Didn't you see him?
09:52Didn't you see the monster?
09:53What monster?
09:54Susan, I think you're pulling our legs.
09:57No, I'm not!
09:58I saw him!
09:59The way Lassie ran off, she must have heard something.
10:02So let's see if she can pick up a trail.
10:04That makes sense.
10:05Why don't you all get started while I check in with Laura.
10:08Lassie's picked up a scent and we're tracking it now.
10:11I'll keep you posted on our progress.
10:13Roger, Dad.
10:14We'll stand by.
10:15Bye-bye.
10:16And Ben, be careful.
10:17Lassie's lost the scent.
10:18So where do we go from here?
10:34Good going, Edgar.
10:36No wonder Lassie lost the trail.
10:40It probably ends right at this cave.
10:42Then what are we waiting for?
10:43Let's take a look inside.
10:45After you.
10:46We're entering the cave so we'll probably lose radio contact for a few minutes.
10:53Roger, Dad.
10:54Standing by.
10:56How did you do?
10:58How did you do that?
10:59Oh.
11:00Who?
11:01Huh?
11:02Eh?
11:03We're entering the cave so we'll probably lose radio contact for a few minutes.
11:10Roger, Dad, standing by.
11:14There hasn't been anything in this cave for years.
11:32Yeah, it looks like even the spiders have moved out.
11:35Or maybe they were scared out.
11:37You never give up, do you, sis?
11:44There he is!
11:48It's Groucho.
11:49Sorry, Groucho.
11:50Susan, I'm beginning to think the only monster around here is in your imagination.
11:54But, Daddy, we saw him!
11:56Didn't we, Lassie?
11:58Ben, contact your father.
12:01I just saw something outside.
12:02Sure.
12:03Rescue base to rescue rangers.
12:05Rescue base to rescue rangers.
12:09No luck.
12:10They must still be in the cave.
12:12What did you see, Mom?
12:13I'm not sure.
12:15Wait.
12:16There it is again.
12:18You stay here.
12:20I'm going out to take a look.
12:21Well, gang, it looks like we've about reached the end of our investigation.
12:25But, Dad!
12:27Rescue base to rescue rangers.
12:29Do you read me?
12:30What is it, Ben?
12:31I'm worried about Mom.
12:33She just saw something outside and went to take a look.
12:35What was it she saw?
12:37Same thing Susan saw.
12:38It ran into the barn.
12:40Oh, no!
12:41Ben, call your mother into the house and lock the doors.
12:44We'll be there as soon as we can.
12:46Roger, Dad.
12:47Dad, send Lassie on ahead.
12:48She'll make better time than we will.
12:50Good idea, Susan.
12:51Lassie, go home.
12:53Go home.
12:54Take the shortcut, Lassie.
12:59All right, Toothless.
13:00Go with Lassie.
13:04Okay, what are you waiting for?
13:06Get moving.
13:07Get moving.
13:07Maybe all this talk of monsters has me seeing things.
13:30The helicopter.
13:31The helicopter.
13:31Dad, this is Ben.
13:42Do you read me?
13:42Over.
13:43Go ahead, Ben.
13:44I don't know what's going on outside, but Rescue 1 just took off.
13:52Dad, can you read me?
13:54Dad.
13:55The radio's gone dead.
13:56Dad.
14:01Mom, are you here?
14:13Mom!
14:24Lassie, boy, am I glad you showed up.
14:29What is it, girl?
14:30Did you find something?
14:30Lassie, something's happened to Mom.
14:35We have to find Dad and tell him.
14:36Dad, to the beach.
14:42Have to find Dad.
14:45We will find Dad, baby.
14:50Dad, to me.
14:53Dad, to me.
14:56Trust me.
14:57My God.
14:59You have to find Dad.
15:00Whoever's flying this thing could stand a few more lessons.
15:30Dad! Dad! Gosh, Lassie, I hope we're not too late.
15:42Lassie, why are you stopping? We've got to keep moving as fast as we can.
15:48Well, old girl, I know you well enough to know that you wouldn't stop unless there was
15:54a reason. Wow, I'd call that a pretty big reason. Lassie,
16:00we have to find a way to get across here. Robby, Musty!
16:07Lassie, I think they know how to get across.
16:13Listen, sounds like a chopper in trouble. It's rescue one, and it's losing altitude.
16:20Hey, isn't that mom on the landing skid? Come on, we've got to help her somehow.
16:30It's no use, Lassie. The only way I'll ever get across here is for someone to carry me.
16:37Who's gonna do that?
16:43It's headed for the river. They'll never clear the bluffs at that altitude.
16:49There's the bluffs! And there's rescue one!
16:56Well, where's mom? That's what I'd like to know.
17:03Rescue one to rescue rangers. Rescue one to rescue rangers. Come in, please. Over.
17:09Laura, where are you? Are you alright?
17:11I'm fine. Don't worry.
17:14But what happened to the glowing monster who stole rescue one?
17:18He's right here beside me, and you can tell Susan she was right. He is from space.
17:23Wow!
17:24I'll give you the details later. Right now, we've got a rescue on our hands.
17:29The victim appears unconscious, and unfortunately, there's no place to land here,
17:32so we may need some help from the ground. Roger. We're getting underway immediately,
17:37and it should reach you within five minutes. We're lowering a sling for you. If you can hear me,
17:41please give a signal of some kind. This is rescue one. Ben, we're having no luck at all.
17:49We need your help as quickly as possible. We're here, Laura, and it doesn't look good.
17:55The crash must have knocked this whole section of the bluff loose. Yeah. Looks like it's ready
17:59to go any second. That's why I want you all to keep off that area. The less weight out there,
18:04the better. Ben, as soon as you hook the sling on him, get away as fast as you can.
18:11Lassie! Ben! Ben, get out of there. It's giving way. Hurry, Dad, hurry!
18:18Lassie! Come back! What's Lassie up to? I think she's trying to revive him. And it's working.
18:40And thanks to the courage of rescue rangers in particular, Lassie, a new tragedy ended happily.
18:52We thank you Americans for helping us in our time of need.
19:01Well, there's still some things I don't understand. Yeah, that goes for me too.
19:05Perhaps we can clear up some of the mystery for you.
19:11Our two cosmonauts were on their way to the moon when a malfunction in the spacecraft
19:17made it necessary to abort the flight. Due to solar disturbances, radio communication was lost,
19:24forcing a crash landing in your woods. The reason for our cosmonauts' glow was the special luminous
19:31suits they were wearing. Their destination was the dark side of the moon, and they needed to be highly
19:39visible in order for our TV cameras to record their activities.
19:46And I must apologize for my reckless behavior, but I could only think of rescuing my fellow cosmonaut,
19:52Ivan. That is why I took the helicopter. I had no idea Mrs. Turner was stranded outside on the landing
19:59skill. It was a good thing I was aboard, because if I hadn't switched over to the reserve fuel tank,
20:04rescue one would have gone down. And Ivan and I would not be here now. I guess this whole space
20:09monster scare just proves that things aren't always the way they look. Yeah. Right now,
20:15it looks like we could all use some sleep. There you go again, Susan, always judging things on appearance.
20:26Lassies, rescue rangers. Lassies. Lassies. Lassies, rescue rangers, rescue rangers. Lassies.
20:56Lassies. Lassies. Lassies. Lassies. Lassies. Lassies. Lassies. Lassies. Lassies. Lassies. Lassies. Lassies. Lassies. Lassies. Lassies. Lassies. Lassies. Lassies. Lassies. Lassies. Lassies.
