01:00Lassies Rescue Rangers
01:04Well, this is the third straight day of heavy snow, and there sure isn't any sign of it letting up.
01:09Yeah, and with the temperature 10 below, it's too cold to even go outside.
01:13How would you like to be on a nice warm Florida beach basking in the sun right now?
01:18Oh, that sounds fantastic. What made you think of that, Jackie?
01:22The picture's in this book.
01:24It sure looks inviting, all right.
01:26Here comes Mom and Dad back with the mail!
01:29I'd better get some coffee. They're gonna need it.
01:34Hi, Gene Fox. What are you doing here? I'm going with you to Florida.
01:40Florida? What are you talking about? Did we get a new assignment?
01:43Sure did. Two days in Florida to give some rescue demonstrations at an aqua show.
01:49Oh boy, that's great!
01:51When do we leave, Dad?
01:53Just as soon as you can get packed and round up the animals.
01:56Whee! Florida! Here we come! Hooray!
02:07I can't wait to get on that sand and soak up all those ultra-violet rays.
02:12Well, just watch out so you don't get all sunburned like you did last summer.
02:15I think the aqua show is right up ahead in that lagoon.
02:25Boy, does it feel good to be someplace this warm.
02:28Can we go water skiing, Dad?
02:30I'll have to check the schedule and see what time the show starts.
02:33Ladies and gentlemen, I have an important announcement to make.
02:37We've just received word from the Weather Bureau
02:40that due to a massive earthquake far out in the Atlantic Ocean,
02:45a tidal wave is now headed for our shoreline
02:49and is due to arrive in a matter of hours.
02:52Local authorities urge you to return to your homes, remain calm,
02:57and listen to your TV or radio for further emergency instructions.
03:02Get aboard, kids.
03:04We're going to be needing our help around here.
03:14The last report I had on the wave, Ben,
03:16it was less than 200 miles off our coast,
03:19moving at a speed of 25 miles an hour.
03:22That puts us about six to eight hours away.
03:25Near as we can tell.
03:26But you never know about these tidal waves.
03:29They're really very unpredictable.
03:31Our evacuation operation is already in effect.
03:34And we need all the help that we can get.
03:37I heard in the police radio that they need a hand down at Ocean World
03:40in evacuating the whales and fish.
03:42Yes, good idea.
03:44I'll put in a call and let them know you're coming.
03:46We'll keep in touch, Commander.
03:48Right.
03:49Thanks, Rangers.
03:50Okay.
03:51The foreman has given me a list of things to do,
03:56and since there's no time to lose,
03:57I think it's best that we break up into two groups.
03:59Jackie, Susan, Lassie, and Robbie, and I
04:02will get started on evacuating the whales and the dolphins.
04:05Laura, Gene Fox, Ben, Toothless, and Musty
04:08help out the seals and the penguins.
04:10Any questions?
04:11Okay.
04:12Let's get to work.
04:14Toothless!
04:22Musty, into the pool.
04:28The phony cough bit won't work, Toothless.
04:31Now into the water.
04:40They've been down there over ten minutes.
04:42I hope nothing's gone wrong.
04:44Harnessing that blue whale isn't exactly an easy job, Susan.
04:47He's over 50 feet long and weighs about 75 tons.
04:52Bring her up, Jackie.
04:53Slow and easy.
04:54Roger, Frank.
04:55Be sure to keep him wet or his skin will dehydrate.
04:58Right.
04:59We'll use our fire nozzles on him.
05:04The sling is in place, Dad.
05:05I'm gonna winch him up now.
05:07Roger, Jackie.
05:10Okay, Dad.
05:11Clear.
05:12Start your ascent.
05:13Roger.
05:14Going up.
05:21How many have we got, Mom?
05:23Let's see.
05:24Two, four, six, seven, eight, nine.
05:29Oh, we're three short.
05:30Here's two more.
05:31That means we're missing one penguin.
05:33One got out of the compound.
05:35Toothless and Musty are looking for him right now.
05:37Maybe we'd better lend him a hand.
05:43You know, I actually think he's enjoying this ride.
05:46Yeah, I just hope he doesn't get air set.
05:48He's been in captivity so long, I wonder if he'll have any trouble adjusting to the ocean.
05:52Could be.
05:53I think they've outfitted him with an electronic tracking device so they can recapture him later.
05:59Here comes the other chopper with the trainers.
06:04Get everything ready, Jackie.
06:06We'll be at the drop off point in five minutes.
06:08Roger, Dad.
06:09We're all set down here.
06:24Jackie, we're approaching the drop off point.
06:26Everything ready?
06:27All ready, Dad.
06:28The well is doing just fine.
06:30Good.
06:31Now the plan is to let the trainers enter the water first and the whale follows.
06:37Right, Dad.
06:44Hold it, Dad.
06:45Okay, Jackie.
06:46Lower him down slowly and keep that water on him until he's submerged.
06:50Dad, what's the latest word in the tidal wave?
06:56I just received a message from the chief.
06:58He says the wave is still on course and now moving at about 30 knots.
07:02That gives us less than five hours.
07:04Right.
07:05Every second counts now.
07:16Hold it right there, Jackie.
07:20I wonder if he'll like the ocean after being cooped up in that pool for all these years.
07:24He'll probably like it until he realizes no one's going to feed him every day.
07:30Pick her up, Jackie.
07:36Look!
07:37He really loves being back in the ocean.
07:50Toothless!
07:51Musty!
07:52Well, they must be around here someplace.
07:53There's the penguin.
07:54And Musty's right behind him.
07:55There's Toothless!
07:56One thing about Toothless.
07:57His methods may be a little unorthodox, but they always seem to get the job done.
07:59Well, that takes care of things around here.
08:00Let's check with the commander and see what else he has for us.
08:05This is Rescue 1 calling XYRB.
08:06Come in, please.
08:07Over.
08:08This is the commander, Ben.
08:09Congratulations on a good job out there at Ocean World.
08:10Thanks, Commander.
08:11What's the status on that tidal wave?
08:12About four hours away.
08:13And holding steady at 35 knots.
08:14Roger.
08:15You're a little unorthodox, but they always seem to get the job done.
08:18Well, that takes care of things around here.
08:21Let's check with the commander and see what else he has for us.
08:24This is Rescue 1 calling XYRB.

08:40Roger.
08:41Where do you want us next?
08:43Well, we have a little problem with a young man who wants to catch the wave on his surfboard.
08:48Catch the wave on his surfboard?
08:50You mean the tidal wave?
08:52That's right.
08:53He refuses to come out of the water.
08:55And all of our boats are busy in the marina.
08:58Okay, we'll do what we can.
08:59What's his location?
09:01Surfer's Beach, just north of the hotel.
09:03Roger.
09:04We're not far from there right now.
09:05Talk to you later.
09:06Over and out.
09:10You'd better come along with us, son.
09:11There's no way you're going to surf that tidal wave.
09:12Dad, why don't we land and talk to him?
09:13That's a good idea, Susan.
09:14Laura, inflate the pontoons and take us down.
09:15Roger, Ben.
09:16What do you want to ride that tidal wave for?
09:17Cuz I love to surf, if it's any of your business.
09:18But that wave's going to wipe you out!
09:19I've ridden big waves before.
09:20I've ridden big waves before.
09:21Who wants to?
09:22There's no way you're going to surfsteen it.
09:24What?
