00:12Xiaomi has launched its new electric flagship in China at a surprisingly lower price than expected.
00:19While the pre-sale price announced in November was around 106,000 euros, the production version now costs just 70,000 euros.
00:27How Xiaomi managed to reduce the price so drastically in such a short time remains unclear.
00:34The standard Su7 was already considered particularly affordable, but the Su7 Ultra goes one step further.
00:41The production version now available retains the powerful electric drive with three motors that was already installed in the Su7 Ultra prototype.
00:49Two super motor V8 units each produce 425 kilowatts.
00:53In addition, there is a super motor V6 with 288 kilowatts.
00:58In total, this results in an impressive 1138 kilowatts and up to 1770 newm of torque.
01:07The prototype caused a sensation in October with a lap time of 646 minutes on the Nürburgring Nordschelief.
01:13The production models are likely to be slightly slower, however, as their aerodynamic add-on parts are made of metal instead of carbon fiber, which makes them heavier.
01:24However, the potential for high performance remains.
01:28Xiaomi has also announced optional packages such as the Racing Package and the Nürburgring Nordschelief Limited Edition, the exact contents of which are not yet known.
01:35It is possible that they will include additional lightweight components and chassis modifications, although probably not a complete carbon fiber body like the prototype.
01:47With the aerodynamic kit, the Su7 Ultra is 5.1 meters long, 2 meters wide and 1.5 meters high.
01:55The wheelbase is exactly 3 meters, like the production model.
02:02The large front splitter increases downforce on the front axle, while larger air intakes improve cooling of the powerful electric motors and the battery.
02:11At the rear, an active diffuser with two-stage adjustment ensures the balance between wind resistance, downforce and energy efficiency in everyday use.
02:19A special detail is the 1.6 meters wide rear spoiler, which is not adjustable, and for an exclusive touch, Xiaomi uses carbon fiber with 24 karat gold for the brand logo on the front hood.
02:36Despite its exceptional performance and elegant details, the Su7 Ultra is not overly exclusive compared to other super sports cars in this class.
02:45This was already evident when orders were opened.
02:47Xiaomi announced that over 10,000 binding orders were received within the first two hours, meaning that the annual target for this model has already been reached.
