00:00Welcome to the video from the Auto Magazine Tuning Blog, in which the Citroen C5 Aircross is compared to the Dacia Bixer.
00:09Please note that our comparison is not a real direct comparison, but only a virtual comparison.
00:16The vehicles in the video are sample vehicles for visual representation.
00:21Both the Citroen C5 Aircross and the Dacia Bixer belong to the compact SUV category and aim to assert themselves primarily through a strong price-performance ratio.
00:33While the Bigster has been on the market as a brand new player since spring, the new C5 Aircross has been available to order since mid-July.
00:42Both are aimed at customers who value plenty of space, modern engines and a balance ratio between equipment and costs.
00:51In terms of external appearance, the current generation of the Citroen C5 Aircross has grown significantly.
01:00With a length of just over 4 meters, a width of around 1.90 meters and a wheelbase of around 2.8 meters, it already conveys a generous amount of space at first glance.
01:11The design is based on a concept vehicle presented at the 2024 Paris Motor Show and combines modern elements such as a flat radiator grille, LED matrix headlights and up to 20-inch wheels with an aerodynamically optimized rear section.
01:29In direct visual comparison, the Dacia Bixer appears somewhat more classic.
01:37At just under 4.5 meters long, it remains in a similar size range, but deliberately dispenses with visual frills.
01:44Angular lines, a robust underbody protection and optional 19-inch rims emphasize its functional yet thoroughly lifestyle-oriented appearance.
01:53The big star deliberately looks simple, but by no means cheap, but rather like an honest SUV with a focus on practicality.
02:03Inside, the Citroen presents itself much more modern.
02:06A new two-spoke steering wheel, a horizontally designed dashboard and a fully digital cockpit with a 10.25-inch display as well as an optional head-up display ensure a contemporary driving experience.
02:21The center console features a vertical 13.6-inch screen that provides access to modern infotainment functions such as Chad GPT.
02:30Comfort features such as a massage function, numerous storage compartments and sustainable materials, such as those made from recycled vines, round off the interior concept.
02:40Depending on the configuration, the boot volume ranges from around 650 to 1700 L.
02:47The interior of the Dacia Wixer, on the other hand, focuses on simple functionality.
02:52Users online praise the generous space in the rear and the comfortable seats.
02:56Although the choice of materials is simpler, the design still stands out with clever details such as Y-Design Air Vents, which are based on the exterior headlights.
03:09Depending on the equipment, a digital instrument cluster in 7 or 10 inches and a 10-inch touchscreen are standard.
03:16Particularly noteworthy is the practical ULUPS system, which can be used to flexibly attach accessories.
03:24With a capacity of around 670 to over 1900 L, the boot offers even more loading volume than the C5 Aircross.
03:33An electrically opening tailgate, rubber mat and the easy-fold function round off the utility package.
03:38In terms of drivetrain options, the Citroën C5 Aircross offers a wide range.
03:44The basis is a mild hybrid with a 1.2L petrol engine and 145 horsepower coupled to the established 48-volt system from Stellantis.
03:54A plug-in hybrid with 195 horsepower is also available, which is said to enable an electric range of up to 90 kilometers.
04:02According to users online, it is particularly suitable for everyday commuters.
04:06Two fully electric versions are available, one with 210 horsepower and a 73 kilowatts battery for a range of up to 520 kilometers
04:16and a more powerful version with 230 horsepower and a 97 kilowatts battery, which is said to achieve a range of up to 680 kilometers.
04:26The charging capacity is 11 kilowatts for alternating current and up to 160 kilowatts for direct current.
04:33This means that around 160 kilometers can be recharged in 10 minutes.
04:39For the time being, Daya is not offering a purely electric version of the Bigster.
04:43The brand's only fully electric option to date remains the Dacia Spring.
04:49While an electric Sandero is announced for 2027, the Bigster will launch with a range of mild and full hybrids.
04:56The most powerful variant is a 155-horsepower full hybrid with a 1.8L petrol engine supported by two electric motors.
05:07The electrical energy comes from a 1.4 kilowatt-hour battery.
05:13According to the manufacturer and confirmed by user comments online,
05:17up to 80% of the driving time in city traffic can be covered electrically.
05:21The range is supplemented by a 1.2L mild hybrid with either 130 or 140 horsepower.
05:30The 140 horsepower variant can also be operated with LPG.
05:35Thanks to a petrol and a gas tank, this model has a combined range of up to 1,450 kilometers,
05:43which is particularly appreciated by long-distance drivers.
05:47When it comes to price, the Dacia Bigster is particularly competitive.
05:51The entry-level price for the mild hybrid with 140 horsepower is around €24,000.
05:57The new full hybrid starts at just under €29,000.
06:02Even the basic essential equipment includes 17-inch alloy wheels, eco-LED headlights,
06:08a reversing camera, rear parking sensors, four electric windows, manual air conditioning,
06:14and a height-adjustable driver's seat.
06:16The Citroen C5 Aircross starts at around €34,000 for the mild hybrid variant.
06:25The fully electric version with 210 horsepower costs around €42,600.
06:33Prices for the plug-in hybrid and the top electric variant with a large battery had not yet been
06:38officially announced at the time of the comparison.
06:40In return, even the basic U model offers extensive equipment as standard.
06:47Among other things, full LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control,
06:54rear parking sensors, keyless entry, adaptive cruise control, and the Citroen Advanced Comfort Suspension.
07:00Both vehicles pursue different philosophies, but each offer compelling arguments,
07:06be it in terms of space, drive technology or pricing.
