00:00Welcome to the video from the Auto Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:03Today we're talking about a very special reinterpretation of the legendary Jaguar E-Type by former Jaguar chief designer Ian Callum.
00:11If anyone knows how to bring an iconic car into the present, it's...
00:16After all, he has played a key role in designing vehicles such as the Aston Martin DB7, the Jaguar XK, and the F-Type.
00:23His latest project is a so-called restomod of the Jaguar E-Type, i.e. a modernized version of a classic that deliberately stays close to the original but scores points with selected modern elements.
00:37The body was designed to be significantly wider and lower than the original model, giving the car a decidedly sporty presence.
00:44Visually, the vehicle stands out with triple-oak aluminum rims, complemented by LED headlights in redesigned housings, modernized taillights, and a dual exhaust system.
00:57Despite these updates, the original character of the E-Type remains clearly recognizable.
01:03The interior blends retro style and modern technology.
01:06The traditional four circular instruments on the center console have been replaced by small displays that show functions like Apple CarPlay and navigation.
01:16The steering wheel, leather trim, and driver displays also appear high-quality and stylistically appropriate, almost as if they came directly from Jaguar.
01:25There's also room for individual preferences, as the cabin can be customized to customer requirements.
01:30What's particularly striking is that this restoration isn't an electric car.
01:37Instead, the digital rendering reveals a classic 5-speed manual transmission.
01:44Kalem has hinted that either a V12 or at least a powerful V8 could be installed under the hood.
01:52While official performance figures aren't available yet, it's clear that torque and engine sound will play a major role.
01:58The vehicle currently only exists as a 3D visualization.
02:04But, hasn't ruled out production, provided someone is willing to pay the appropriate price.
02:11For those interested, that means anyone with deep pockets could soon own one of the most stylish resto mods of recent years.
02:20The Edle project is part of Kolum's so-called Portfolio Project series, in which other concepts have already been announced.
02:26Overall, Kolum's E-Type remains true to the spirit of the original while simultaneously bringing just the right amount of modernity.
02:36Not an exaggerated reinterpretation, but an elegant evolution.
02:41This is what the E-Type could look like today if it were reimagined.
02:44Whether the whole thing ultimately goes into production depends on the interest and, of course, the budget of potential buyers.
