00:00Welcome to the video from the CarMagazine Tuning Blog.
00:22Today we're talking about a car that even Porsche never dared to build, the RM39.
00:30The prototype was first unveiled at the Supercar Fest the Runway 225 at the airfield in Sewell near Northampton, where it caused a huge stir.
00:40Developed by the British engineering company EARM, which can look back on four decades of motorsport and innovation experience, the P39 is set to finally erase the boundaries between road and racetrack.
00:52The vehicle is based on the Porsche 992.11 Turbo S, but is hardly recognizable.
01:00The body is made almost entirely of carbon fiber, equipped with active aerodynamic elements and a performance that is breathtaking.
01:07A whopping 920 horsepower and a maximum downforce of an impressive 65,000 N in track mode.
01:13The aerodynamic concept is clearly inspired by Formula 1, an electronically controlled split rear wing changes its position depending on the mode.
01:23In road use, part of the wing remains hidden, while in race mode it lifts and rotates to create a so-called slot gap.
01:33This increases downforce by 24%.
01:35Those who want to reach maximum speed on the straight can activate the drag reduction system DRS, which reduces drag by 23%.
01:46There is also innovation at the front.
01:51An extendable splitter slides forward by 7 centimeters to increase the contact surface and shift the pressure point forward.
01:58This significantly improves cornering.
02:04In addition to air curtains around the front wheels, fender cutouts, an underbody diffuser and ventilated wheel arches at the rear,
02:10the P39 significantly increases its aerodynamic efficiency above that of the Porsche 911 Turbo S.
02:17Instead of around 1,400 N, the P39 generates around 5,100 N of downforce in road mode.
02:25In race mode, it even exceeds 65,000 N at around 244 kilometers per hour.
02:32In order to achieve these values, the chassis was completely revised.
02:36New suspension elements, wider track, special strut mounts for optimum camber adjustment
02:43and secondary springs for higher spring stiffness in racing mode, without compromising comfort in everyday use.
02:50In addition, there are specially developed R53 dampers with three adjustable modes.
02:56A hydraulic lifting function for all four wheels to make city traffic easier,
03:00as well as recalibrated side stabilizers and adapted rear axle steering.
03:04The ground clearance is lower.
03:08The wheelbase and track width are larger than on the production model.
03:12The wheels were specially developed for the P39.
03:15Rims measuring 20 by 10 inches are used at the front.
03:19At the rear, 21 by 12 inches are combined with customer-specific tires.
03:25The car is powered by Porsche's turbocharged six-cylinder boxer engine with two turbochargers.
03:30Revised in cooperation with Litchfield Motors.
03:33In sport and sport plus mode, the engine delivers 920 horsepower with 956 newton meters of torque.
03:41In racing mode, 608 horsepower are available.
03:45In normal mode, 760 horsepower.
03:49Delivery of the first customer vehicle is planned for this summer.
03:52Only 39 units will be built in total.
03:56Rumor has it that they have all already been sold.
03:59The price is not known, but is likely to be well above the level of the donor vehicle.
04:03As always, you can find the link to read the article in the video description.
