00:00Welcome to the video from the Car Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:10Today, we're all about the Toyota Wildlander, an exciting vehicle from the Sports Utility Vehicle category.
00:17You can find the link to read the article on this topic in our magazine in the video description.
00:24The Toyota Wildlander was first introduced by GAK Toyota Motor in October 2019.
00:30Sales started exclusively on the Chinese market in February 2020, and the first vehicles were delivered in April of the same year.
00:40A year later, in April 2021, Toyota presented a plug-in hybrid version of the series at the Shanghai Auto Show, which was also available in China from May 2021.
00:50The SUV is based almost entirely on the Toyota RA4, but differs visually in elements that are based on Lexus models.
01:00While the Rayfier is produced in China by Fav Toyota Motor, the Wildlander is the work of the joint venture between Galaxy Toyota and the Galaxy Group.
01:11This partnership has existed for more than 15 years and specializes in adapting global Toyota models for the Chinese market.
01:18What particularly distinguishes the Wildlander is its design.
01:24The spindle grille, reminiscent of the Lexus models, is striking and lends the front end a unique character.
01:31Technically, the model is based on the G-Platform, which is also used for the Toyota Camry, the Highlander and the Lexus S.
01:38The Wildlander is 4,665mm long, 1,055mm wide and 1,680mm high.
01:47With a wheelbase of 2,690mm, it is exactly identical to the Toyota RAV4, which is available in Europe and the USA.
01:56The lighting relies on modern LED technology, both for the headlights and the fog lights.
02:01At the rear, horizontally arranged taillights are used, which round off the design.
02:08Two drive variants are available, a 2.0L naturally aspirated engine with 170hp and a 2.5L hybrid version with 219hp.
02:19The hybrid version is offered with an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission ECVT,
02:24which offers various driving modes such as Eco, Normal and Sport.
02:28The Toyota Wildlander was clearly developed for the Chinese market,
02:34but its design shows interesting prospects for future Toyota models.
02:41There is speculation that the spindle grille and other design elements could also appear in global models,
02:46such as a future revision of the R.
02:48In addition to the Wildlander, GAK Toyota also produces the CHR,
02:52while FAO Toyota produces its own version of the CHR called the ISA.
02:58Both models are also available as electric vehicles.
