00:00Welcome to the video from the Car Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:04Today we're talking about the revised GMC Hammer IV for the 2026 model year,
00:09and in particular the new Carbon Fiber Edition,
00:11which pushes the already extreme electric vehicle even further towards performance insane.
00:18The Hammer IV is already known for its impressive performance,
00:21but the Carbon Fiber Edition sets new standards.
00:24Both the pickup and SUV versions of this limited edition model are based on the most powerful 3X variant
00:32and can now sprint from 0 to 100 km per hour in just 2.8 seconds.
00:40By comparison, the previous model needed around 3 seconds.
00:46The Hammer Loud GMC owes this improvement to a revised drive control system,
00:50new software adjustments, and minor hardware changes.
00:55Peak power also increases to an impressive 1,176 horsepower.
01:00Previously, it was 104 horsepower.
01:03The energy is supplied by a 24-module battery pack.
01:09Visually, the Carbon Fiber Edition stands out with 22-inch carbon fiber wheels,
01:14carbon elements on the mirror caps and skid plates,
01:16and a special matte magnus gray exterior color with black emblems.
01:20Inside, passengers will experience the so-called Velocity Ember design.
01:28However, GMC has not provided any information on the actual weight savings achieved through the use of carbon.
01:33The effect appears to be primarily cosmetic.
01:38Beyond this special edition, the Hummer IV also receives a few updates.
01:43The body remains largely unchanged, but two new colors are added, Coastal Dune and Arne Matte.
01:48The interior features the new themes, gray night-eye drift and stealth eclipse.
01:54The technical details are more prominent.
01:57The infotainment system, with a screen diagonal of 33.9 cm,
02:02now offers a customizable split view for faster access to important driving data.
02:06The supercruise driver assistance system has also been revised, although specific details are still lacking.
02:15A real highlight is the new King Crab mode.
02:19This feature, which allows the rear wheels to rotate significantly faster than the front wheels,
02:24increases maneuverability in tight situations and improves the vehicle's off-road climbing capabilities.
02:29The mode is standard on the 2X and 3X versions and will be made available for existing models later this year via a software update.
02:42In addition, the damper tuning has been revised, which GMC says should improve ride comfort.
02:49Another new feature is bi-directional charging capability.
02:53In the future, the Hummer will not only be able to absorb energy itself,
02:56but also charge other vehicles or supply entire households with electricity in an emergency.
03:03Production of the 2026 Hummer IV pickup and SUV will continue to take place at the so-called Factory Zero Assembly Center in Michigan.
03:13Market launch in the United States is planned for the end of this year.
03:19Prices and range information are expected to be announced in late summer 2025.
