01:53The hole has a diameter of 32 millimeters.

01:56So it needs a 32 millimeters stopper.

04:19And it goes into the inside of the window.

04:26Actually, you should adjust it like this, but that doesn't work with BMW because of this glued on area.

04:33I won't remove it here either because that definitely won't end well.

04:38But now there's space in here.

04:41And if I remove the glass plug here, you can see that it's glued together in the middle, right?

04:48You can see it.

04:49Uh, then I should be able to fit it in here like this.

04:52And yes, let's see.

04:54I'd try that now.

04:56First, let's see if it can be taken apart at all.

04:58But here in the middle, you can see that it's actually just a glue dot.

05:03And so it should work.

05:07No sooner said than done.

05:08So it's really easy with a knife, right?

05:10Cut it apart.

05:11And then we have the glass plug, so to speak, stand alone.

05:15Sorry.

05:16That's how it looks when it's inserted.

05:19It looks a bit wild now, especially everything is dirty, right?

05:22We don't need to talk about that.

05:23But first of all, it's very, very dark.

05:26And secondly, yes, it is very dark.

05:29I can't get it to look any different on my phone.

05:32In any case, it fits perfectly.

05:34It doesn't look as bad as it appears through the camera.

05:39In my opinion, you could either glue it in like this, then it sits lower.

05:43Whether that's really bad is really doubtful.

05:46But you can also adjust it right to the height.

05:50And I'll show you outside so that you can't really see any difference because it's a shiny black surface.

05:56And that's it.

05:59I'll try to put it as high as possible.

06:02That means that I simply use a lot of glue on the edge below.

06:06A bit of bodywork adhesive is used to make the plug rise to the right height.

06:11And when it's raised, I apply something else to the outer edge.

06:17Of course, it's also glued in place.

06:19And then once it's dry, you can either use a cutter knife or, let's see, remove it.

06:24And it's not rocket science.

06:26I just did this as an idea.

06:28I attached adhesive tape from behind.

06:30And put a screw in here at the top because that way I can achieve exactly the right height.

06:35The glass pane now goes on here and is then flush with the rear window.

06:39Or at least it's the way I want it.

06:41And once it's tight, I can basically pull it off from the inside and simply take it out.

06:47Glued.

06:48Like this.

06:49It's also the perfect height.

06:51I like it a lot.

06:53And, yes, I'll let it set now.

06:56And then I think the glue will become transparent.

07:02Otherwise, it would be funny to have a white circle on a black corner window.

07:06And the edges are covered, so if there's extra glue on top, you can remove that with a cat knife.

07:11And then the plug is already stuck in there.

07:14So, I've driven the car out now.

07:18The glue has dried out.

07:19So I'm actually quite happy with it.

07:20I've been driving a bit now, so there's already some dirt in here.

07:36Why and why do you add white glue to it?

07:39It's completely incomprehensible to me.

07:41It would be best to order some black body adhesive so that you don't have to experiment with white glue.

07:46I had white glue here.

07:49And I replaced it with black.

07:55I replaced the black.

07:57Nonsense.

07:58It was white.

07:59And I simply painted this tiny edge here black.

08:04What else was left, because a white edge definitely looks crap.

08:08Also, make sure you have black glue when you order it.

08:11Yes, but otherwise it turned out well.

08:13The car is, of course, really dirty.

08:18No matter, it still works perfectly.

08:20So, I'm going to open the tailgate with the key.

08:23And here I have, well, here's the wiper motor.

08:26It just turns when you operate the wiper.

08:30But there's no error message and nothing except for any malfunction.

08:33Everything looks normal here, except for this hole.

08:37You can either cover it up or you can leave it like this.

08:40Because normally there would be a pin sticking out of it, which goes in here.

08:44So it doesn't look any worse.

08:45Now, the important thing is that the hole is sealed, right?

08:49And it is, thanks to the plug.

08:51What I'm going to do now is this cable here.

08:56I've already disconnected it.

08:58You can see it, the plug, it's disconnected.

09:00It actually belongs there.

09:02Uh, these two cables, the black one and the blue one, quite simple.

09:07Um, they operate the opener, which is actually here, right?

09:11The one on the wiper arm.

09:13And now I'm just going to go out here with the cable, go into the roof spoiler.

09:19There's enough space there.

09:21And I'm going to install a push button down here.

09:25I think it's just here, which is recessed here, which you can't see.

09:29And then I still have this function, right?

09:34So I just press the button here and then the rear window opens in the same way.

09:38I'll show you in a moment.

09:40So to do that, you actually loosen the four screws up to here, right?

09:42It's really easy.

09:44Then he pulls off the rear spoiler.

09:47You can pull it off in this direction.

09:49It's really easy without force.

09:51And then there's a rubber stopper here, I'd say.

09:54I hope to be able to get this other cable through there too.

10:06You can simply pull off the side panel.

10:09It's hanging up here and then you just pull it away from below and it comes out.

10:19So this wonderfully dirty car is basically finished now.

10:23Here's this little switch.

10:25Of course, you can see it, but the roof spoiler will also be added here.

10:31And I think it looks better than this huge thing here.

10:35And I run the cable along here.

10:40It goes in here.

10:42It fits like this because I don't think there's ever been any water underneath here.

10:45No water gets underneath here either.

10:47Uh, yeah, nothing happens.

10:49So pressing the button now opens the tailgate.

10:52Then the cable goes in here.

10:54It's connected to the original plug here.

10:58And this one stays blank.

11:00This is the one that goes over the rear window to the original switch.

11:04It just stays as it is.

11:06And now I'm going to put the roof spoiler on.

11:09And that's basically it.

11:13You could, now if you enjoy it, build all the fun in there too.

11:18That would also work for the cables.

11:20It doesn't make any difference.

11:21But yes, I find it up here in this area.

11:24I know that it's on the passenger side.

11:26Uh, on the driver's side.

11:28And yes, I think that fits.

11:31Now the roof spoiler is going on.

11:33Okay, that's the dirty end result.

11:36Of course, I'll go wash it at some point.

11:39But that doesn't count in this weather.

11:41So here we have the switch, right?

11:43Actually, everything's cool so far.

11:45The tailgate still opens with the remote control.

11:49You can't see the lock inside here.

11:53As I said, there's a little hole here now, I'd say.

11:55But that doesn't make any difference.

11:58Close the tailgate.

12:00And then you can have fun here at the push of a button.

12:02The original function hasn't really changed at all.

12:09Well, it's just tuning, right?

12:11Well, I'm more interested in the look.

12:13It's definitely not as practical as it used to be.

12:16That's obvious, but I think everyone who does this is aware of that.

12:20Um, the switch up here, you can basically save yourself that if you don't want it.

12:24Um, that's enough if you remove this here.

12:26You can assign the key differently.

12:28And then you can always open the tailgate with the key if you want to do it like I do.

12:32So that you can still do it then either with a switch like this or maybe someone else has another idea.
