00:00Hallo auf der Tuning Blog-Channel.
00:05Heute möchte ich, wie soll ich sagen,
00:07einen kleinen Tuning-Projekt machen.
00:58You'll find the link to the shop.
01:01You can just take a look there.
01:03There are lots of carbon fiber parts, especially BMW,
01:06but also other brands and so on and so forth.
01:08Just have a look, just a note here.
01:11Um, yes, other than that there's not much to say,
01:14it's not an exhaust system,
01:15it's just end pipes, as you can see.
01:18Um, that means the old end pipes are gone,
01:20the new ones are on.
01:21Um, the nice thing here is that they can be screwed on.
01:24There's also a recess here for the exhaust flaps
01:28so that it continues to function.
01:31Um, yes, so ultimately it's just a matter of
01:34cutting off the tailpipes, attaching the new ones,
01:37making sure they're aligned straight,
01:39tightening them down, and that's basically it.
01:42They don't fit with the original diffuser from the G30.
01:48But I have a replica diffuser on it in Modic.
01:52Um, I can't remember where it's from.
01:55But there are a few of them,
01:56you just have to keep an eye on them, of course.
01:59All parts must be approved if they are to be used legally.
02:02The same goes for these tailpipes,
02:04a lot of people don't know that.
02:06Tailpipes in this case also need approval,
02:08either an ABE, type approval,
02:10or a tough parts certificate,
02:12so that they can then be approved.
02:14That's important,
02:15and you can also get them in the shop.
02:17As far as I know,
02:18there are different versions.
02:20I chose one with approval, of course,
02:22because in Germany I can't avoid it.
02:25They look pretty good though.
02:27I've seen some online that don't have approval.
02:29Yes, they're a bit more stylish,
02:31a bit bigger, a bit fatter,
02:33but none of them have approval.
02:34Well, here they were approved,
02:36which is very important to me.
02:38But they have to be registered.
02:39Well, there's no ABE here either, right?
02:42It's engraved on the bottom of each one.
02:44And yes, then there are the documents for it,
02:46as you know.
02:47Nothing special.
02:48I don't want to go into that in detail now.
02:51That's not the point.
02:52I'll just show you how to install the fun.
02:54Um, the tailpipes,
02:56that's a typical thing I do in the garage.
02:58Um, yes, do it yourself.
03:02I have what's called a reciprocating saw for that,
03:05which cuts like that.
03:07Um, you should be able to get to them
03:08without having to remove the final switch damper.
03:11Um, if that doesn't work,
03:13I'll have to see if I can remove it
03:14in small pieces at the back.
03:16I'll have to see how to do that,
03:17but it should actually work with the saw.
03:20Compared to an angle grinder,
03:22you can get to them better
03:23and cut a bit more precisely.
03:24Exactly, I'll show you the car outside again,
03:28and then, yes, we'll move on.
03:30So, and that's the object of desire,
03:33and those are the tailpipes.
03:35I think it looks pretty cool,
03:37it's basically an M5 look, right?
03:39Not exactly magic,
03:40but I think it suits the car quite well.
03:42I've already done a few things,
03:43the rear wiper has already been removed,
03:45and there was even a video about it.
03:47It's got a roof spoiler on it
03:49and this special rear diffuser.
03:53Yeah, exactly.
03:54So first jack up the car,
03:56now I'm going to take a look
03:57at the fun from underneath.
03:58Um, I can only take you step by step
04:00since I'm on my own.
04:01That means I have to screw
04:02and then film what I've done.
04:04I can't really show you every step live,
04:07but it's not that interesting anyway.
04:09So, a quick look below.
04:13So, that's basically what it looks like.
04:15And I think you have to cut pretty much
04:22exactly in front of the edge
04:23and then hopefully the fun will fit.
04:28So, the flap function and everything like that
04:30will stay the same.
04:31Otherwise, I think it would look bad
04:33even with Tuff and Co.
04:34if someone looked underneath
04:35and was supposed to take it off
04:37and you just ground the flap away.
04:39And this tool here, as I said,
04:41is called a reciprocating saw,
04:43in case anyone doesn't know.
04:44Yeah, you can always use one around the house,
04:46I think.
04:47I mean, I can with a house anyway.
04:48Okay, then I'll go in reciprocating.
04:50By the way, a quick note.
04:51Look, the flap should be closed.
04:53You really have to look at it
04:54because when it's open
04:55it sticks out like this
04:56and if you then grind exactly
04:57along the welding seam
04:58you'll probably cut half the flap off.
05:01So, definitely remember that
05:02the flap has to be closed
05:04because there are some people
05:05who pull the fuse number 5
05:07and then always have an open exhaust
05:09and in case you don't think of it
05:10just as a note
05:12it's cut off relatively unspectacularly.
05:15That's what it looks like then, right?
05:16It's not rocket science at all.
05:18Just make sure that it slides nicely
05:19along in front of the flap
05:21so that everything continues to function.
05:23And now it's time to put the parts on.
05:26Okay, number one is in place.
05:29They fit nicely too, right?
05:32Well, the diffuser definitely sticks out
05:33another one to two centimeters.
05:34The skirt too.
05:36The upper part when you look from above, right?
05:39It doesn't look so flashy
05:40with the pipes sticking out so far.
05:44They definitely stick out further
05:45than the original pipe
05:47but that's already very far in and flush
05:49but not excessively so.
05:52I really like it.
05:54They still need to be aligned a bit.
05:56It's a bit crooked, but yes.
05:59So, the other side is installed.
06:01Yes, it actually looks quite normal, I'd say.
06:04Also precisely measured.
06:06Everything fits to the millimeter.
06:08Even if it's sometimes a bit misleading here
06:10because the car is slightly crooked.
06:13It actually fits really well.
06:18So, now we have the approval
06:20and I'll do that with the spacers right away.
06:25I've installed spacers all around.
06:27Enter the details together
06:28and then we'll have it.
06:29Yes, I hope this helped you.
06:31Maybe you have something similar planned.
06:32If so, please subscribe, that would be great.
06:34And see you in the next video.
06:35We'll see you in the next video.
