00:57What's a bit tricky are these little brackets.
01:01Yes, it comes assembled.
01:05These are in here and yes, you definitely have to be careful and divide them into two parts.
01:11In my opinion, it would be better if it were delivered disassembled,
01:16because you only assemble it once and don't run the risk of breaking off a tab the first time you take it apart.
01:23Um, it's all just hard plastic and so you should definitely be very, very careful.
01:29Maybe pry it open with a small screwdriver or with this included spatula.
01:33Exactly, anyway, I got it apart.
01:36It's not rocket science, it worked.
01:39Otherwise, there's an adapter cable included here.
01:42Um, it goes to the power supply for the interior mirror, rain sensor and also automatic dimming and whatever else is up there.
01:50Um, it doesn't really do anything other than divert power from the original cable for the camera, right?
01:57There are the matching connectors here and um, a variant goes to the original cable, in my case from BMW.
02:04I'm going to install it in the X2.
02:07Um, I already have a camera, where I don't necessarily want to name a manufacturer, with a similar principle and an OEM look.
02:14I have it in my 5 series.
02:16Um, it's been in there for 2 years now, does its job excellently and is also not visible.
02:21But the advantage of this one is that the entire part is simply included.
02:25For example, here are the buttons.
02:27Um, here is the slot for the SIM card.
02:29Um, for the memory card, I mean.
02:32And with the other camera, you have to rely partly on original parts and partly on the small camera that is mounted on the front.
02:40Um, everything is solved a bit better here, because you simply have the complete unit, remove the original unit, click it on and that's it.
02:47I think that's really, really cool and I'm a fan of things that you can't see anyway.
02:52So, I don't like cables in the interior and that's why I've tested many, many dash cams, you can find them on the channel.
02:58Yes, a very high number, but none of them have stuck so far.
03:02In the 5 series, only the one that also has this principle has remained.
03:06And now in the X2, this camera will also remain permanently installed, because that's what I like.
03:11You can't see it.
03:12It doesn't get in the way.
03:13Uh, yes.
03:14What's it called?
03:15Interior design.
03:16Uh, otherwise, what else is there?
03:20It's an adapter cable for the typical parking function.
03:24When you lock the car now, they usually fall asleep after 10 or 15 minutes.
03:28That's what it's called, right?
03:29So, when the power is completely switched off, I don't know how it is with the X2.
03:33I think it's not like that with the 5 series.
03:36At least there's a constant supply of power up in the roof lining near the rain sensor and so on.
03:43Because it has this function that it automatically closes the sunroof, for example.
03:49I think that has something to do with that, right?
03:52That means it always detects whether it's raining or not and would then automatically close the sunroof.
03:57The X2 doesn't have one, I don't know if it has that function.
04:01In any case, it's a cable to get directly to the battery.
04:05That makes it a bit more difficult to install.
04:08I don't need it.
04:09I won't install it for that reason.
04:11But if you're relying on a project function so that the camera can film day and night,
04:15you'll have to lay the cable according to the instructions.
04:18By the way, all the instructions are included, as is a 64GB memory card.
04:23And there are different optional versions, including one with a rear-view camera.
04:28You can even integrate a GPS tracker.
04:31You can configure all of that on the website.
04:33Here it is without a rear-view camera.
04:35It's just the dash cam, the windshield, and yes, that's actually enough.
04:41As far as I know, it has a 145 degrees angle at the front.
04:46The camera at the back, if it's included, is 160 degrees.
04:51Well, otherwise there's not much to say.
04:54I would say let's get out into the car now and then I'll take a quick look and show you how to install it.
05:00Please note, I'm alone.
05:02That means holding the camera, i.e. holding the smartphone, filming and installing it isn't that easy.
05:07But of course I'll try my best.
05:10This is what it looks like inside the car.
05:13Um, well, I hope I can get it halfway so that you can see a little bit.
05:17It's always a bit of a problem.
05:19The lighting conditions are really a joke, right?
05:21So, this whole area here, all of this, is also divided into two parts at this point.
05:26It has to be taken apart.
05:28There are no instructions from the camera manufacturer on how to take it apart.
05:34You can only read up on it in forums and what you can do.
05:37Um, this is what the camera looks like, right?
05:42These are these two parts and you can see where the holders are, right?
05:47For example, this one here and this one here.
05:52So, these are the two areas that are logically also present up here and, uh, yes, you can at least get a little orientation on how to disassemble it.
06:01So, a bit step by step.
06:02You can see the cover here now, which was relatively easy to make.
06:05As I said, unfortunately I can't do it any other way.
06:08I can only work and then turn the phone back on and show you how I did it, since I'm alone.
06:12But you just go in here with the spade, at least with BMW, right?
06:16Go in with the spade, push it apart and it immediately comes apart.
06:19So it's really, really simple.
06:38Bam, it crashes.
06:40But that's how it works.
06:41So again at the point down here, right?
06:44Go in there again with the spade.
06:48So, here in this area and then you push it apart.
06:51So, they're all just clamps.
06:54None of them broke off, right?
06:56You can see.
06:57Uh, everything was simply put together and that's it.
07:00And then there are these two points here, which are almost identical to the ones on the camera.
07:21So, now it's time for the cables, right?
07:26The connection cables are up here.
07:29You disconnect one and then connect it to the supplied adapter cable.
07:41And if you want to know which cable fits, then just take the camera.
07:45There are two cables on it.
07:47I mean, this one would be the one for the continuous flow, which I'm not connecting now.
07:52This one is the important one for now.
07:56And then you can connect them together first, because then it's also clear which cables are left, right?
08:06If I see it correctly, this one goes to the power connection and this one to the existing one to supply the rain sensor and so on with power again or vice versa.
08:14I'll have to check first.
08:17So, here on the X2, X1, X3 and, yeah, I think on the BMW 3 Series 2, there are two connectors in this case.
08:26Here we have the big one, that's not it, but it has to go so that you can disconnect the one behind it.
08:32In this case, it's a reddish, brown, reddish flat connector.
08:36It then logically fits into the counterpart.
08:45Okay.
08:46And then you just have this here, which you then reinstall in its place.
08:52Okay, it was relatively simple, as I said.
08:55Just these two connectors back there, when you see them when this comes into focus again, right?
09:02The one back there and the one at the very back, where the light shines through a little, that's the one from the camera and that's how it's already connected.
09:10It's already made the first noise.
09:11Yeah, it's best to test that there's power before you put it together, so that you don't put everything together and then find out, oh, it doesn't work at all.
09:21Mine looks like this, right? It's blinking.
09:24Uh, but it takes about 10, 12 seconds for it to start up.
09:28Also, you shouldn't forget that, so that you don't turn on the ignition and say, oh, it doesn't work, and take it apart again straight away.
09:33Wait a minute, 10, 15 seconds. It has to boot up first. It makes a noise and then flashes blue. And yes, that's it.
09:40Then it's really just a matter of, so to speak, putting the whole thing back together.
09:47I mean, you definitely have more than enough space in this area to hide all the cables, because they're pretty long, right?
09:56There's quite a bit left over here, when you see everything hanging here.
10:00Um, just try it. It all has to fit in this area.
10:05So, I've now held it from the side. It's holding itself a bit.
10:09Of course, I did it in the area behind it, around the mount of the interior mirror, right?
10:15So here with the semi-circular side, it's holding it a bit now.
10:19And I've stuffed as many cables in here as possible. You can just try that.
10:24Now, when you press the second half together, you just have to see if it works easily or if there's maybe a cable in the way somewhere and is getting in the way or whatever.
10:34We can just try that out. It's all pretty blind, but it's not impossible.
10:41Then he first presses the camera together here in this area.
10:43Like that. And then, as I said, it definitely has to go in easily up here. If not, then of course it will snap out here at the bottom.
10:52Uh, then you press it apart slightly up here again. Try to push the cables back and forth a bit with your finger or, uh, with a spatula or a screwdriver so that they're not in the way and then press it together.
11:04And that's it. So, it's really easy to install.
11:13So, the mirror is adjusted again. Uh, and that's all. This is what it looks like now.
11:19Yes, everything is a bit overexposed. My phone doesn't really do it any better, but yeah, right?
11:25But yeah, right?
11:28It's clipped together properly now. There's no big gap or anything. Everything looks completely normal.
11:35Just like a shovel.
11:41This area wasn't quite there yet. I just put it together, I can see.
11:46So it fits exactly as it should.
11:48Right? It looks very good.
11:57And then it's relatively simple. You download the app here, Leersanker or yes, how do you pronounce it, right?
12:03There's also a QR code in the instructions. Otherwise, you enter it, download it and of course you have to connect the camera first.
12:10To do that, just go to Wi-Fi.
12:13It will probably show up here at some point.
12:16Exactly, here it is. Select it.
12:25I had already connected it before I started the video.
12:33Uh, but the password is from 1 to 8. So, then you open the app, go to the camera and then it's already connected.
12:40As you can see now, right? The garages are in front of me. The camera is now filming.
12:49And it also has a GBS position.
12:51So, what can you do now? Then you have all the settings here, every type of resolution, everything you can set here.
13:01Well, I would say it can't do more, but definitely not less than any other good dashcam, right?
13:06What's important is the loop function. I always have it set to 3 minutes, you can also set it to 5 minutes.
13:143 minutes is actually the normal time, then at some point when the card is full, it will gradually be overridden by itself.
13:21Unless something unusual has happened. Then, as far as I know, it will be permanently saved in the folder.
13:30Then there's the loop monitor function, which of course makes sense if the vehicle can do it.
13:35I don't know about this one. As I said, my 5 series can do it. There are always cars that can do it, and some that can't.
13:42Uh, if you really want that, then you'll have to run this extra cable that I showed you earlier.
13:47Yeah, otherwise, what's there to say here? Well, you can turn the microphone on and off, but you can also do that directly on the camera itself.
13:56Uh, you can also turn the camera on and off directly with this button, as far as you can see.
14:00I think you can use it at the bottom right to start a recording if something happens.
14:06Uh, yeah, you can adjust the image quality here, the volume, and so on and so forth.
14:13You can reformat the SD card.
14:17There are always updates for the firmware version, which are then certainly done via the connected Wi-Fi.
14:23Uh, yeah, what else is there? Date on and off, things like that.
14:27You can set the gasore.
14:33Yeah, what else do we have?
14:35The camera's volume control.
14:38Exactly.
14:40I'm not going to go through every function with you here.
14:42That doesn't make sense. You can do that yourself.
14:44What's really, really cool is this GBS sensor. I'm totally into it.
14:49And otherwise, I'll show you a few shots.
14:53You can see for yourself.
14:57Just a few shots from the daytime and then a few shots at night.
15:02And yes, then I hope that the video helped you.
15:06And if so, then check out the article description, there's a link there where you can also buy the camera.
15:11It won't be more expensive because of that, but I'll get a few euros commission.
15:18Of course, it would be really cool and it's especially important to me if you leave a subscription so that I can continue making videos like this and then I'll say until next time and have fun with the pictures and until the next video.
