11:44We're in the middle of Siena. The police have pulled us over and now they're taking all of our details.
11:50Then all the roads lead to Rome, where past meets future on ancient roads.
11:57Getting up early to drive around Rome, to beat the rush hour.
12:05We had the Colosseum almost to ourselves. We had the most beautiful sun and light in the mornings.
12:12We travelled through the heart of southern Italy.
12:15We took the Cyberster on a scenic drive along the world famous Amalfi Coast.
12:23After the Amalfi Coast, a quick visit to Pompeii, a very moving historical site.
12:29We then have arrived in Matera, described as the third oldest city in the world.
12:34It's been a really moving place to visit and take time to explore.
12:37From the eternal city of Rome to Matera.
12:40Our journey through southern Italy has been a symphony of culture, cuisine and unforgettable moments.
12:52Country 22, Thailand.
12:54We came here 15 years ago as backpackers and so much has changed.
12:58Bangkok is a mega city of nearly 12 million people.
13:04Bustling, vibrant and modern.
13:08The Cyberster was completely at home as we overtook tuk-tuks and weaved our way through crazy traffic.
13:16The famous Koh San Road is where we ate some spiders, some scorpions and lots of creepy crawlies.
13:21But joking aside, Thailand really is all about the food.
13:25It's known as the kitchen of the world.
13:28The temples to the north are insanely beautiful with elephants and monks strolling the street.
13:35To the south of the capital we found a floating market and a Buddha the size of a mountain.
13:40But the crown of glory was a drink at sunset on top of the King Power skyscraper.
13:48First stop was Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam with red flags flying and thousands of scooters everywhere.
13:55We visited St Joseph's Cathedral, Long Bean Bridge and tasted many delicious local meals.
14:03Train Street was utterly unique and definitely worth the wait.
14:08Heading east to Halong Bay, what a breathtaking location.
14:12It's been in too many films to mention.
14:15The day finished with a ride on the incredible world-wrapper breaking Queen Cable car.
14:21Da Nang is famous for its Dragon Bridge and the nearby city of Hoi An is known for its fun coconut boats, beautiful lanterns and a wonderful nighttime river market.
14:30Landmark 81, the tallest building in Vietnam and our home for two nights gave us the perfect bird's eye view of the city over 400 meters below.
14:42Next stop, Hong Kong.
14:52The dream was to bring back a sports car for the MG brand.
14:56The design of the Cyberster represents an electric exhilarating performance sports car.
15:03Everybody will remember MG as the quintessential British sports car maker.
15:09Certainly this car that we've created is a definite statement of a return back to form for the brand.
15:16My name is Carl Gotham and I'm the Advanced Design Director at Psych Design Advanced London.
15:22So the brief for this car was relatively self-generated.
15:25So we, as an advanced design studio and director of that team, we started very early on to explore and try to experiment in what a car like this might look like.
15:37Yeah, a daunting brief, a massive brief for us.
15:40But one that, yeah, we relished.
15:46MG has enjoyed spectacular recent success as the UK's fastest growing mainstream brand over the last two consecutive years.
15:54We've built an enviable reputation and have a firm vision for developing high quality cars and being at the forefront of the drive towards electrification.
16:02The MG Octagon badge carries a lot of precedent and expectation for a lot of people.
16:09MG has always been hugely pioneering actually.
16:11It's been at the forefront of development of technology and actually speed.
16:15It's got a history of land speed records.
16:18The responsibility of the MG Cybersted design really is with lots of members of the design team.
16:27Whilst the idea for this kind of concept came from myself, my head of design, Robert Lemons, and also senior designer Joshua Thielen were heavily involved in the creative process.
16:39Yeah, so the original concepts are hand drawn and sketched on pen and paper.
16:45We would then sort of shortlist those and try to consolidate the ones that really speak to us, speak to the brief.
16:53So after a rendering has been selected and shown and approved, we would move into the digital phase of the process.
17:01So here we're working around sort of a set of dimensions and things are getting more refined and the data is developed to allow us to explore the form in using VR or we can mill that data as a clay model and then manipulate that by hand using tapes and clay modeling techniques.
17:25Cyberster is a modern interpretation of the MG brand.
17:32Cyberster reimagined the spirit of MG with passion and spirit, but with his eyes firmly focused on the future.
17:40Something beautiful, high tech and full of feel good factor.
17:45We've very much wanted to keep some of the sort of, it's more traditional sports car proportions, so longer bonnet and proportion with the cabin set more rearward.
17:57It's very characterful, it's very expressive.
18:00To look at the front end in the open lamps, the open sort of eye expression gives a much more friendly and approachable character.
18:07So the car we've got a sort of more traditional dropping front fender line through the front door into a rear haunch.
18:15The haunches on the rear really represent a sort of sense of power.
18:19So the drive traditionally coming from the rear wheels.
18:24On the Cyberster it's going to be all wheel drives.
18:27So aerodynamics have played a big role in the development of this car.
18:31So we've got, you know, very long, you'll see a very low nose that helps to encourage the airflow over the top of the car.
18:38The rear is very more precise and a little bit sharper to sort of allow the airflow to separate, which is important for aerodynamics.
18:48The doors are quite special on this car.
18:50They are a little bit of a surprise and delight feature in that they are scissor doors, so they operate more vertically.
18:58The lower intake on the front bumper is there obviously to help cooling.
19:04And the design of that is split, which echoes a little bit of the MG's sort of grille design of the past.
19:13So the light bar on the rear is designed to be very precise and fine.
19:17So representing this electric character of the car.
19:20We've got a triple screen sort of layout around the cockpit.
19:24So it's very driver focused and everything is intended to be quite accessible and ergonomic for the driving experience.
19:31This car is really important for MG's new chapter.
19:36It sort of really is a statement of intent.
19:39The brand is growing year on year.
19:41It's one of the fastest growing brands in the world actually at the moment.
19:45So what better time than the start of our 100th year anniversary to be doing a brand new high performance two-seater electric sports car.
19:55It's got a huge journey ahead of it.
19:57So this car will really help to put some more gravity for people that don't really know the brand.
20:03It's certainly going to get the attention and grab some headlines hopefully.
20:08So people are drawn to what MG are doing and what we're going to be doing in the future.
