00:00Welcome to the video from the Car Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:03Today, it's all about the 2025 Hyundai Sonata N-Line.
00:08A sporty midsize sedan that aims to impress with its striking design,
00:13solid technology, and plenty of features at a surprisingly fair price.
00:18At a time when many manufacturers are increasingly turning away from classic sedans
00:23and instead focusing on SUVs or all-electric vehicles,
00:26Hyundai is offering a last-ditch effort against the trend with the Sonaline.
00:32And this effort is quite something, because here, sporty character meets everyday suitability,
00:37modern technology meets classic values, and all of that at a price that is impressive.
00:44The 2025 Sonata N-Line is much more than just a sporty look variant,
00:49as is otherwise known from so-called N-Line models.
00:52Hyundai has installed a truly sporty hard-hear,
00:58a 2.5-liter four-cylinder turbo engine that delivers an impressive 290 horsepower
01:04and sends a maximum torque of around 420 Nm to the front wheels.
01:10Power is transmitted via an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission with a wet clutch.
01:15This ensures fast gear changes and an immediate driving experience.
01:21However, there is no limited slip differential, which can have a negative impact,
01:25especially when accelerating out of bends or on wet roads.
01:31Anyone with a sporty driving style will sooner or later wish for this differential or even all-wheel drive,
01:37which Hyundai does not offer.
01:38Nevertheless, the sprint to 100 km per hour is achieved in around 5.2 seconds,
01:46which is impressive for a mid-size sedan in this price range.
01:51The top speed is electronically limited to 255 km per hour.
01:57According to the manufacturer, fuel consumption is around 10L 100 km in city traffic and around 7L on the motorway.
02:05A decent figure considering the performance offered.
02:08The vehicle weighs around 1,640 kg, which also contributes to the very good driving performance.
02:17Visually, the Sonata N-line presents itself in a new, sharply defined design.
02:24Particularly striking is the matte special paint finish in aero silver,
02:27which not only gives the vehicle a futuristic but almost luminous look, especially on cloudy days.
02:34The front end, with its continuous LED light strip and narrow headlights,
02:39is almost reminiscent of the look of a sci-fi film.
02:43Many draw comparisons to the design of the Hyundai Kona or even, with a wink, to the helmet of Roboker.
02:49The lower bumper offers functional air intakes, but also some decorative elements that serve only visual purposes.
02:58One would have wished for a bit more honesty in the design here.
03:02The side view shows a classic, stretched sedan profile with sporty accents.
03:07Black mirror caps with dark window frames and special side skirts with aerodynamic inserts ensure an aggressive appearance.
03:16The fitted 19-inch light-alloy wheels with a tire width of 245 mm and a cross section of 40 mm fill the wheel arches perfectly.
03:30The wheelbase is 2.8 m, which not only ensures visually balanced proportions,
03:36but also benefits the handling and the amount of space available.
03:39The overall length of the vehicle is 4.9 m, the width is 1.9 m and the height is 1.5 m.
03:51This makes the Sonata N-Line larger than a Hyundai Elantra and on par with a Honda Accord or Toyota Camry,
03:57although the latter hardly plays a role in Europe anymore.
04:02However, comparison with traditional competitors is becoming increasingly difficult,
04:07as many brands have discontinued their sporty sedans.
04:11A Camry TR, for example, is no longer available and even the core has lost its sporty character.
04:18The Sonata N-Line is therefore almost unrivaled.
04:22The sporty look continues at the rear.
04:25The continuous light strip with the striking LED graphics,
04:28the discrete spoiler and the four tailpipes in stainless steel look underline the claim to be a sporty representative of its class.
04:37A particularly clever solution is that the button for opening the trunk is discreetly integrated into the spoiler lip.
04:44The trunk itself offers around 450L volume,
04:48enough for the luggage of a small family or a large shopping trip.
04:53Inside, the Sonata N-Line impresses with a mix of sporty design,
04:58good material quality and clever details.
05:00Sport seats with Alcantara inserts, red contrast stitching and embossed N logo provide good lateral support and look classy.
05:10The driver and front passenger enjoy a great sense of space,
05:13also thanks to the standard panoramic roof with electric sun visor, particularly commendable.
05:19While many manufacturers rely on hard plastic for affordable models,
05:23Hyundai shows great attention to detail here.
05:25Soft materials, well-crafted carbon-look trim strips and red accents run throughout the entire cockpit.
05:33The infotainment system is state-of-the-art.
05:37A 12.3-inch touchscreen in the middle and an equally large fully digital instrument cluster
05:43offer razor-sharp graphics and intuitive operation.
05:46Functions such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a rear-view camera with 360 degrees view,
05:54a navigation system, ambient lighting and a Bose sound system are included as standard.
06:00A wireless charging option for smartphones, two USB-C ports and a 12-volt connection are also available.
06:07The center console also offers plenty of storage space, including space for several bottles of drinks or smaller bags.
06:16The rear seat is also generously sized.
06:19Even tall people can sit comfortably here and benefit from separate air vents and additional USB ports.
06:26The rear seat can be folded down in a 60 by 40 ratio, which flexibly expands the storage space.
06:32A particularly practical feature is the tire mobility kit with puncture repair kit and compressor,
06:37which replaces the missing spare wheel and saves weight.
06:40The Sonata N-Line also impresses with its driving dynamics.
06:44It exhibits neutral behavior in fast corners, which benefits from the firm but not uncomfortable suspension tuning.
06:51Thanks to electronic driving modes, normal, sport and my drive, the driving experience can be individually adapted.
06:58The engine delivers sufficient power in all situations.
07:02The transmission shifts quickly and unobtrusively.
07:05The only point of criticism remains the traction.
07:08When driving aggressively, especially on wet asphalt, the front wheels often struggle with the torque.
07:15A limited-slip differential or optional all-wheel drive would have been desirable here.
07:21The entry-level price for the 2025 Hyundai Sonata N-Line is around €34,000 including the Special Aero Silver Paint Finish.
07:32This positions the sedan significantly below many comparable models that either cost more or are simply no longer available.
07:42Hyundai offers an almost complete equipment package here, which other manufacturers often charge extra for.
07:48For this price, you get a sporty, spacious and modern vehicle that is just as impressive in everyday life as it is on the road,
07:57as long as you are not looking for the last tenths of a second on the racetrack.
08:01Ultimately, it can be said that the 2025 Hyundai Sonata N-Line is one of the last of its kind.
08:09A midsize sedan with a sporty touch, featuring a classic combustion engine, attractive design and ample equipment.
08:16It offers a lot of driving fun, modern technology and an impressive price-performance ratio.
08:23Anyone who wants to stand out from the SUV and is looking for an alternative to the electric hype should definitely take a look here.
08:31However, it is questionable whether Hyundai will keep the model in its range for much longer.
08:36The signs of the times are rather against it.
