00:00This Halloween, Airbnb is rolling out new anti-party tech.
00:04So if you were planning on turning a rental into a haunted house party,
00:07you might want to call up your buddies.
00:08The new system now flags bookings that look suspicious,
00:11like one-night stays, last-minute reservations, or locals renting nearby homes.
00:15Basically, if it smells like a party, the tech shuts it down before you can even hit book.
00:19And it's not just a scare tactic.
00:21Last Halloween, Airbnb blocked over 38,000 high-risk bookings in the U.S. and 6,000 in Canada.
00:27That's a whole lot of unthrown parties.
00:28They've also tightened the rules around third-party bookings.
00:32A.K.A. if you book a place for someone else and they throw a rager, you could get banned or fined.
00:37So yeah, no sneaky party proxies.
00:39The goal? Keep things chill for hosts and neighbors, especially during peak party season.
00:45So if you're planning a cozy costume night with candy and horror movies, you're good.
00:49But if you're planning on bobbing for bush apples, the bots are watching.
00:52But what do you think? Are you in support of this tech or is it a party pooper?
