00:03Today we're talking about the new Gemini Edition of the Land Rover Discovery.
00:08A modern homage to the ingenious engineering and iconic design of the Discovery,
00:12which has stood for adventurous family trips for over 35 years.
00:18The Gemini Edition takes its name from the TI Diesel engine that powered the first Discovery model in 1989
00:24and set new standards in efficiency and refinement.
00:30The Gemini version is available in six exterior colors, including Sedona Road,
00:35available for the first time on the Discovery and exclusive to this edition.
00:41The look is complemented by a gloss black contrast roof with a Narvik look,
00:46as well as black details on the lower body and the air vents on the front fenders.
00:52The grille is framed by a gloss Atlas R surround and bears the Discovery logo.
00:57Typical for the Gemini version is a special graphic motif on the B-pillars, step rails and interior trim.
01:06The design of two nested hexagons symbolizes duality and cohesion,
01:11a nod to the formula in the Discovery grille.
01:13The Gemini also rides on 21-inch diamond-turned-alloy wheels in the split-seven-spoke design style 7001.
01:24The interior is optimized for family adventures and offers a host of comfort and practical features.
01:29These include a cooling compartment between the front seats,
01:35holders for mobile devices in the rear,
01:37and three-zone automatic climate control for pleasant temperatures in all seats.
01:43Under the hood is a powerful and efficient 3.0-liter Ingenium diesel engine
01:47with 350 horsepower and 700 newton-meters of torque.
01:51The mild hybrid technology with 48-volt system stores braking energy and uses it to assist acceleration.
01:59It is also ideal for towing up to three and a half tons.
02:03Power is transmitted via an eight-speed all-wheel drive system.
02:07The Discovery model range has also been expanded beyond the Gemini variant.
02:11New wheel options bring visual enhancements and combine practicality with off-road capability.
02:21The 22-inch style 5124 wheel now features a dark gray tint and black accents,
02:27while the 21-inch style 523 design with split five spokes in black is available for the Dynamic SE.
02:34The Tempest and Gemini models expand the equipment range,
02:39which already includes the S, Dynamic SE, Dynamic HSE, and Metropolitan variants.
02:45The latter receives additional features.
02:47The Dynamic HSE now also offers three-zone automatic climate control.
02:52Discovery continues to set the standard for family friendliness and versatility.
02:57New accessory packages called Beach Days, Road Trip, and Snow Days
03:02offer a tailored solution for every occasion.
03:06Beach Days includes a foldable trunk box, sunshades for all rear windows,
03:10and a roof rack for boards or canoes.
03:15Road Trip brings order with seat organizers, a cooling compartment in the center armrest,
03:19an electric cooler bag, and a roof box for longer trips.
03:25Snow Days includes racks for skis and snowboards, a rubberized load compartment mat,
03:29mud flaps, and a snow chain system for demanding conditions.
03:34Already familiar accessory sets such as four dogs with a portable dog crate,
03:39flushing system, non-slip water bowl and padded load compartment lining
03:42as well as biking adventures with protective mats, running boards, and bike racks complete the range.
03:47Those who don't want to use a roof rack can also use a carrier for two bikes on the tow bar.
03:56The Discovery remains a fully-fledged, versatile SUV for families with a towing capacity of up to three and a half tons.
04:04Systems such as Advanced Tow Assist make maneuvering with a trailer much easier.
04:08Added to this is all-terrain progress control, which enables constant propulsion even off-road.
04:15Supported by Terrain Response 2 with specific driving programs for every surface condition.
04:22A warning depth of up to 0.9 meters ensures additional safety when driving through water.
