00:01Welcome to the video from the Auto Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:05Today we're talking about the new Japanese version of the Subaru Forester,
00:09which will be launched with a Samurai-inspired look and a wealth of customization options.
00:16The 6th generation of the Subaru Forester is about to be launched in Japan
00:21and differs significantly from the North American version,
00:24particularly due to its extensive range of accessories.
00:27Japanese buyers have access to numerous sporty and robust equipment packages
00:33with which they can customize their SUV to their taste.
00:37There are three trim levels to choose from,
00:40X-Brake for adventure seekers, premium for urban use, and the sport version.
00:46Particularly striking is the adventure-style package,
00:49which is a perfect match for the X-Brake.
00:52It gives the Forester a redesigned grille with Subaru lettering,
00:55sharply defined lighting units, and high-mounted door-trim panels.
01:01A look that would be reminiscent of a samurai's armor if it were wearing plastic plates.
01:08Those who want to take the look even further can have black stickers with mountain motifs
01:13applied to the hood, sides, and tailgate.
01:15Unlike the North American Forester wilderness, however, the ground clearance remains unchanged,
01:23as the Japanese adventure-style package does not involve any changes to the chassis.
01:28Things get sporty with the STI Sport add-ons,
01:32which Subaru offers for those who want to inject a bit more dynamism into their family SUV.
01:37The package, which is retrofitted at the dealership,
01:40replaces the STI Sport equipment line available on previous models.
01:45It includes a front splitter, side skirts, and rear bumper extensions.
01:50All optionally in red, as well as a larger duck spoiler,
01:54black 18-inch wheels, and dual exhaust tips with the STI logo.
01:58A performance rear muffler, which Subaru claims improves throttle response and makes acceleration
02:05more harmonious, rounds out the package.
02:08However, the technology underneath remains unchanged,
02:12there are no modifications to the drivetrain or chassis.
02:15If that's too noticeable for you,
02:17the premium trim level offers a more understated alternative.
02:20Silver accents on the body and dark gray 19-inch alloy wheels create an elegant appearance
02:27that also looks good in the city without drawing attention to itself.
02:34Inside, Subaru offers a wide range of dealer options,
02:38including aluminum pedals, weather-resistant seat covers,
02:41door sill moldings, window sunshades,
02:44and numerous practical trunk extensions, such as a utility hook.
02:50Ideal for outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, or fishing.
02:55In Japan, the Forester is offered with two powertrain variants,
02:59a turbocharged 1.8-liter gasoline engine and a more efficient self-charging hybrid drive.
03:06The latter was recently introduced in the North American version
03:09and delivers a system output of approximately 197 horsepower.
03:14The technology comes partly from Toyota,
03:17with Subaru relying on its signature boxer engine and symmetrical all-wheel drive.
03:24Further details on the Japanese version of the new Subaru Forester,
03:28including exact pricing, will be announced on April 17.
