00:00Welcome to the video from the Auto Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:03Today we're talking about the new Porsche Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid.
00:08A vehicle that impressively demonstrates how efficiency and performance are not contradictory at Porsche, but rather inspire each other.
00:16With the model change of the Panamera, Porsche is sending a clear signal towards an electrified future.
00:21The Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid is one of a total of four plug-in hybrid variants that Porsche will gradually introduce in the third generation of the series.
00:34Right from its debut, the Turbo E-Hybrid takes the top position with a system output of 680 horsepower and a maximum total torque of 930 Nm.
00:45It replaces the previous Panamera Turbo S and underscores the brand's claim to combine driving dynamics with efficiency.
00:51The revised 4.0 LV8 Baturbo engine combined with a completely redesigned I-Motor ensures remarkable driving performance.
01:03In pure electric mode, the Panamera achieves an output of 190 horsepower and a torque of 450 Nm, which is sufficient for a top speed of up to 140 km per hour.
01:14When the system's full potential is utilized, the vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km per hour in just 3.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 315 km per hour.
01:27The V8 engine remains the emotional heart of the drive system.
01:35Porsche has comprehensively redesigned it so that it meets global emission standards while reducing fuel consumption and emissions without sacrificing dynamics.
01:43New turbochargers based on the mono-scroll principle replace the previous twin-scroll chargers, significantly shortening the warm-up phase of the catalytic converters.
01:53This leads to an earlier operating state with full exhaust gas purification and at the same time enables higher exhaust temperatures.
02:02The peak pressure in the combustion chambers has been raised to 140 bars, which also increases efficiency under dynamic driving conditions.
02:11Instead of cylinder deactivation, Porsche relies on variable valve timing using actuators on the intake camshafts.
02:17These adjust the valve lift according to the load situation.
02:22At low load, the valves operate with minimal lift in short opening times to maximize efficiency.
02:30At high loads, they open wide and for a long time to achieve optimal cylinder filling and thus enable high torque while simultaneously reducing CO2 emissions.
02:42Magnetoresistive sensors record the position of the camshafts in real time,
02:46allowing precise control.
02:50The insulation has also been revised to minimize disruptive noises and bring out the characteristic engine sound more clearly.
02:58The new i-motor is an integral part of the transmission and replaces a separate housing.
03:04By integrating it, Porsche saves around 5 kilograms in weight.
03:09It is a so-called internal rotor, in which the rotor is enclosed by the starter gate.
03:14A design that enables fast reactions and high dynamics.
03:19The basic position of the separating clutch is now open, which means that the electric motor provides propulsion by default.
03:26The combustion engine is only activated when power is required.
03:30Porsche also achieves increased efficiency through the new oil cooling system for the electric motor,
03:34which is now integrated into the transmission oil circuit.
03:37This allows higher continuous power outputs and significantly improves recuperation capabilities.
03:43The Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid can recuperate up to 88 kilowatts.
03:49An increase of 19 kWh compared to its predecessor, even up to a speed of 2 hours per kilometer.
03:55The energy source is a new high-voltage battery with a capacity of 25.9 kWh, which is housed in the vehicle's rear to save space.
04:07It enables an electric range of up to 91 kilometers in the combined WLTP cycle and up to 93 kilometers in city traffic.
04:14Despite the approximately 45% increase in capacity, the battery housing remains compact.
04:22Optimized cell chemistry has increased energy density.
04:27The battery is charged via a standard 11 kW charger, which enables a full charge in around 2 hours and 39 minutes.
04:36The driving modes have also been revised and now make greater use of the navigation data.
04:41In e-charge mode, the Panamera drives in hybrid mode in city traffic at speeds below 55 kilometers per hour.
04:50The system only uses the combustion engine to charge the battery at higher speeds.
04:57In sport and sport plus modes, the battery is charged to approximately 20 and 30% respectively,
05:02which is more efficient than its predecessor, which was charged at 30 and 80% respectively.
05:07In addition to the turbo e-hybrid, Porsche has also revised the Panamera models with pure combustion engines.
05:16The rear-wheel-drive Panamera and the all-wheel-drive Panamera 4 each receive an optimized 2.9 Elba Turbo 6-cylinder.
05:25With 353 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, they outperform their predecessors by 23 horsepower and 50 Nm.
05:33Acceleration from 0 to 100 km per hour takes between 5.3 and 4.8 seconds, depending on the equipment and package.
05:43The top speed is 272 km per hour in the Panamera and 270 km per hour in the Panamera 4.
05:51A new sports exhaust system is available as an option, which further intensifies the sound of the engines.
05:57All Panamera derivatives come standard with the newly developed 8-speed dual-clutch transmission,
06:04which is specifically tuned to meet the demands of the increased drive torque.
06:10It enables both extremely fast and exceptionally smooth gear shifts, depending on the selected driving mode.
06:16The new design is engineered to reliably transmit torques of over 900 Nm.
