00:00Welcome to the video from the Car Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:04Today we're talking about the spectacular Renault 5 Turbo 3e.
00:10With this model, Renault is bringing an extremely sporty variant of the Renault 5 E-Tec onto the road,
00:16reminiscent of the legendary Renault 5 Turbo and Turbo 2 and boasting impressive performance.
00:24After Renault presented the Renault 5 E-Tec as an electric model in 2024,
00:28it followed with the A92, a sporty sister model under the Alpine label.
00:34But that's not all. In 2025, Renault will present the even more radical Renault 5 Turbo 3e.
00:42The vehicle is scheduled to be delivered from 2027 and was inspired by its famous predecessor,
00:48the Renault 5 Turbo, which was known for its wide coupe wings, mid-engine, and impressive performance.
00:54There was already a show car of the same name in 2022, and this is now becoming a reality in a production version.
01:04The Renault 5 Turbo 3e is powered by two-wheel hub motors,
01:08each producing 200 kilowatts, for a total output of 400 kilowatts or 540 horsepower.
01:13Maximum torque is a massive 4800 newton-em.
01:22This power is supplied by a 70 kilowatts-hour lithium-ion battery located in the vehicle floor,
01:27integrated into a custom-designed 800-volt architecture.
01:30Weighing just 1,450 kilograms, the Renault 5 Turbo 3e is well-equipped for its impressive performance.
01:43Acceleration from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour is claimed to be under 3.5 seconds,
01:48while the range according to the WLTP test is over 400 kilometers.
01:52The top speed is stated at 270 kilometers per hour.
01:58Charging is also rapid.
02:00The Renault 5 Turbo 3e can be charged with up to 350 kilowatts at a rapid charger,
02:06allowing charging from 15 to 80 percent in just 15 minutes.
02:12An 11 kilowatts onboard charger also allows charging from an AC source,
02:17with a full charge taking about 8 hours.
02:19Visually, the Renault 5 Turbo 3e remains true to its sporty lines and impresses with its extremely wide body.
02:29The windshield has been moved back,
02:31and the wheelbase has been extended by 3 centimeters to just under 2.6 meters.
02:37Overall, the Renault 5 Turbo 3e measures just over 4 meters in length,
02:42almost exactly 2 meters in width, and just under 1.4 meters in height.
02:47This makes it as long as a city car.
02:49but as wide as a super sports car.
02:52In addition, the 4-door Renault 5e Tech has been transformed into a 2-door coupe,
02:57offering only 2 seats but a surprising amount of luggage space.
03:02Renault relies on a particularly stiff and lightweight carbon structure spanning an aluminum chassis from Alpen.
03:09The significantly wider wheel arches on both axles are immediately noticeable.
03:13The front ones have large air outlets, the rear ones have powerful air intakes.
03:21Between them are flared sill panels with additional flaps.
03:23The front hood is strongly contoured and airflow-oriented, while at the rear a small spoiler extends the roofline.
03:31The sporty look is completed by new bumpers with large air intakes and a striking diffuser.
03:37The wheels are also unmistakable.
03:39The wheel arches house 20-inch aero rims with 245 mm wide tires at the front and massive 275 mm tires at the rear.
03:51The interior continues the same sporty feel.
03:55The two passengers are welcomed by bucket seats with six-point harnesses, while numerous carbon elements keep the weight low.
04:02High-quality materials such as Alcantara create an exclusive atmosphere.
04:07A special highlight is the vertically mounted handbrake in the rally.
04:12All important driving, navigation, and multimedia information is shown on two displays, one 10.1 inch and one 10.25 inch.
04:22The multimedia system is equipped with online navigation and offers Google integration.
04:28A special button on the steering wheel activates an additional power boost to make overtaking maneuvers even faster.
04:36Another button controls the regenerative braking effect, which can be adjusted to four levels.
04:43The driver can also choose between four different driving modes, snow, regular, sport, and race.
04:50The latter includes a special drift assist function.
04:54Renault remains true to its historical roots and offers the Renault 5 Turbo 3e in various color variants that are reminiscent of the paint schemes of its predecessors.
05:04These include, for example, the rouge grenade of the production models or the soft yellow racing livery of the legendary 1982 Tour de Core Rally model.
05:15A special feature is the limited edition.
05:19The Renault 5 Turbo 3e will be produced in a strictly limited number of just 1,980 units.
05:25This is a tribute to the year the first Renault 5 Turbo was built.
05:30Each vehicle will be numbered, and customers can choose their preferred number when ordering.
05:36Reservations will begin shortly, with Renault focusing on key markets such as Europe, the Middle East, Japan, and Australia.
05:45Deliveries will begin in the first half of 2027.
05:49Renault has not yet announced an official price.
05:52What is clear, however, is that the costs will be based on the performance, but will be significantly lower than the Alpine A910R Ultum, which is limited to 110 units and costs at least 265,000 euros.
