00:00Welcome to the video from the Car Magazine Tuning Bog.
00:03Today we're talking about the XSED STERA ET, a large and modern electric SUV from China.
00:09The vehicle was spotted in the Chinese capital, Beijing.
00:13The STERA ET stands out with its clean, yet somewhat anonymous design.
00:18XSED is a premium brand for new energy vehicles under the Sherry Automobile umbrella.
00:24The STERA brand was introduced in 2023 and currently offers two models.
00:28The STERA ES sedan since 2023 and the STERA ET SUV since 2024.
00:34Its target audience is primarily families.
00:39The STERA ET is a 5-seat SUV with clean aerodynamic lines.
00:44The shape appears elegant, if somewhat interchangeable.
00:48With a drag coefficient of 0.26, it is very efficiently designed for a vehicle of its size
00:54at approximately 5 meters long, 2 meters wide, and 1.7 meters high, with a wheelbase of 3 meters.
01:01The interior impresses with its brightness, plenty of space, and high-quality workmanship.
01:06The white genuine leather seats are attractive, and the cockpit is minimalist.
01:10Particularly striking is the small, oval-shaped steering wheel with two spokes, a flattened base, and a thick rim.
01:19The gearshift lever is located on the steering column, creating space on the center console for two wireless charging pads and two cup holders.
01:27The screens include a 15.6-inch touchscreen and a 10.20-inch driver display.
01:36Despite the generous amount of space, EXT has decided not to offer a seven-seat version.
01:42This decision seems unusual given the competitive landscape, as many rivals offer both.
01:47The XSED STERA ET is offered as both a pure electric vehicle and an extended-range electric vehicle.
01:56The model spotted in Beijing was a fully electric vehicle.
02:00The two variants are difficult to distinguish from one another,
02:03as there are no badges and the exhaust pipe on the EAP version is hidden far below the vehicle.
02:08The EV variant has active aerodynamic elements in the lower section of the bumper,
02:15while the EF variant has a fixed front with horizontal struts.
02:21The technical variants range from rear-wheel drive with 230 kW and 425 Nm of torque.
02:27Powered by a 77 kW lithium-iron-phosphate battery with a range of up to 625 km,
02:37the all-wheel drive version offers 413 kW and 691 Nm of torque.
02:45This uses a 100 kW ternary lithium battery and achieves a range of up to 655 km.
02:50The most powerful version sprints from 0 to 100 km per hour in just 3.8 seconds
02:56and reaches a top speed of 210 km per hour.
03:01All versions are based on an 800-volt architecture, which enables extremely fast charging.
03:08The smaller battery can be charged from 30% to 80% in just 9 minutes.
03:14The larger one takes about 15 minutes.
03:16The all-wheel drive technology bears the catchy name Snow Leopard AVD.
03:24The price range for the Exidera is between approximately 29,000 euros and around 40,000 euros.
03:30A fair price for a vehicle of this size with the corresponding performance and range.
03:37The Chinese brand name is Sheen, which means,
03:39Star Era, while Exceed is Stu, Star Journey, in Chinese.
03:46The Star Era AT features Level 2 autonomous driving capabilities and is equipped with 30 sensors,
03:52including a sensor above the windshield.
03:56Despite its impressive technical specifications,
03:58the Star Era AT is still rarely seen on the roads.
04:02With around 2,000 units sold per month, it is falling short of expectations.
04:07The main reasons for this appear to be the lack of brand recognition in the premium segment
04:13and the rather unremarkable design.
04:17The vehicle clearly lacks a certain degree of individuality or extravagance.
