00:59Building on the 180 RS and 200 RS models, it offered an impressive combination of agility, performance, and reliability.
01:09Just one month after its presentation and most, the coupe proved its potential with third and fourth place finishes
01:16in the up to 2000 CC Meje class at the European Touring Car Championship in Bruno.
01:22This marked the beginning of an impressive career that made the 130 RS a serious opponent for Western competitors.
01:31Its greatest success came in 1977 at the Monte Carlo Rally when it celebrated a double victory in the up to 1300 ZZ class
01:40and achieved a respectable 12th place in the overall standings.
01:44Two years later, in 1979, it finished 8th in the demanding Acropolis Rally.
01:50A result it achieved again in 1981, the coupe also shown on the circuit securing the title in the manufacturer's classification of the European Touring Car Championship in 1981.

02:08The secret of its success lay in its lightweight construction and precise handling.
02:15A water-cooled four-cylinder with a displacement of 1.3 liter and OHV valve control worked in the rear.
02:22The engine initially produced 113 hopperperus, later increasing the output to 142 hopperperus in the circuit version.
02:31Thanks to numerous lightweight components made of aluminum and fiberglass, the racing model weighed just 720 kilograms,
02:38which enabled it to reach a top speed of 220 kilometers per hour.
02:43The vehicle's balance was particularly impressive, allowing drivers to get the most out of the car.
02:50Skoda produced around 200 examples of the 130 RS itself, while other vehicles were reproduced privately using original parts.
