00:00can you just explain how conditions are right now yes so actually i had to leave treasure beach
00:06because conditions were deteriorating so bad and the shelters there were not optimal for what is
00:11coming i was definitely going to try to ride it out there but it did not seem like the safest
00:16option so now i'm a few miles inland kind of in between santa cruz and mandeville right now
00:21now what have you seen so far certainly we've already seen devastating flash flooding across
00:28parts of hispaniola we've seen flooding in the kingston area you talked about the loss of power
00:33how about the rain and flooding situation have you encountered any of that thus far
00:38yeah definitely on my drive out of treasure beach it was it was less than optimal there was a lot
00:46of flooding and as you got closer to the higher terrain you started seeing some of the rocks
00:50starting to slide up the mountains already bryce obviously you're a storm chaser it comes with your
00:55title have you ever been in a storm like this what are you anticipating no i have never been in a
01:04cat five before but i've been in several high-end cat fours so i'm expecting it to be obviously worse
01:10than that but the aftermath here in jamaica is going to be the big story with this one i do believe
01:16can you speak of what you've seen so far as far as infrastructure and your experience on what damage
01:27the infrastructure is going to be encountering
01:30yeah so a lot of the buildings here are actually concrete which is great for riding out a hurricane
01:36but a lot of the buildings here don't have actual windows i noticed that when i got to treasure beach
01:43that the place that i picked out didn't have legit windows it was just an open air type of situation
01:50with plyboard over it of course but even late last night this morning the plyboard was getting ripped off
01:57already
