Montha Cyclone. Cyclone Montha, which is in the west-central Bay of Bengal, is rapidly moving towards the AP coast. The storm, which moved at a speed of 15 kilometers per hour in the last 6 hours, has strengthened into a severe cyclonic storm, the State Disaster Management Agency said. It is currently centered 190 kilometers from Machilipatnam, 270 kilometers from Kakinada, and 340 kilometers from Visakhapatnam. As the storm approaches the coast, the waves in the sea are increasing. Montha will cross the coast as soon as it becomes intense, and there is a chance of crossing the coast between Kakinada and Machilipatnam in the evening or night, APSDMA said.
పశ్చిమ మధ్య బంగాళాఖాతంలో ఉన్న మొంథా తుపాను ఏపీ తీరంవైపు వేగంగా దూసుకొస్తోంది. గడిచిన 6 గంటల్లో గంటకు 15 కిలోమీటర్ల వేగంతో కదిలిన తుపాన్.. తీవ్ర తుపానుగా బలపడినట్లు రాష్ట్ర విపత్తుల నిర్వహణ సంస్థ తెలిపింది. ప్రస్తుతం మచిలీపట్నంకు 190 కిలోమీటర్లు, కాకినాడకు 270 కిలోమీటర్లు, విశాఖపట్నంకు 340 కిలోమీటర్ల దూరంలో కేంద్రీకృతమై ఉన్నట్లు తెలిపింది. తుపాను తీరాన్ని సమీపిస్తున్న కొద్దీ.. సముద్రంలో అలల ఉద్ధృతి పెరుగుతోంది. తీవ్రతుపానుగానే మొంథా తీరం దాటుతుందని, సాయంత్రం లేదా రాత్రికి కాకినాడ - మచిలీపట్నం మధ్య తీరం దాటే ఛాన్స్ ఉన్నట్లు APSDMA పేర్కొంది.
