00:00...Party Against Corruption, ASEAN PAK, to deliver welcoming remarks. Please welcome.
00:10Today marks a significant moment for M.A.C.C. as we assume the championship of ASEAN PAK.
00:19This is not merely a ceremonial role, but a solemn responsibility to continue the mission of strengthening our regional solidarity
00:27and deepening our shared fight against corruption.
00:32Since its establishment in the year 2004, the ASEAN PAK has grown from a small alliance into a strong network of 10 anti-corruption agencies united by a single purpose,
00:46which is to protect the integrity of our nation and the trust of our people.
00:51Malaysia, through the M.A.C.C., has been part of this journey from the very beginning.
00:58We hosted the inaugural meeting in the year 2005, the 10th of the year 2015, and now, two decades later, we proud to once again serve as hosts in the year 2025.
01:11This milestone are not only symbols of continuity, but also reflections of ASEAN's growing maturity in tackling corruption together.
01:23I would like to wish Timor-Leste 2 for officially being admitted as a member of ASEAN on the 26th of October.
01:32These days, the Anti-Corruption Commission of Timor-Leste has automatically become a member of ASEAN PAK.
01:43Congratulations and welcome to the ASEAN PAK family.
01:50This is the thing, strengthening ASEAN unity through public and private partnership to combat corruption carries profound meaning.
01:58It acknowledges a truth we all recognize that no government can fight corruption alone.
02:06Integrity must not only be enforced through institutions, but must live within the culture of every organization, every business, and every individual.
02:16When the public and private sectors stand shoulder to shoulder, corruption has nowhere to hide.
02:22When ethical conduct becomes a shared norm, transparency becomes the standard, not the exception.
02:32Through this partnership, we aspire to build an ASEAN region where integrity drives, rules, and fairness strengthens competitiveness.
02:41We want to prove that clean governance is not an obstacle to progress, but its greatest enabler.
02:50Over the next three days, our deliberations will focus on advancing our common goals.
02:56We will review the ASEAN parties against corruption action plan for the year 2023 and 2025 and adopt the new action plan for the year 2026 to 2028.
03:13As our shared roadmap, we will hear country presentations, exchange best practices, and learn from one another.
03:21We will also engage with our international partners, namely UNODC, the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities, IAACA, United Nations Development Programme, UNDP, and the Perdana International Anti-Corruption Champion Foundation, PIACCF, as we strengthen ASEAN collaboration with the global anti-corruption community.
03:44Malaysia will also be presenting the ASEAN partners, a digital platform, a digital platform developed by the Malaysian anti-corruption commission to improve coordination, translated information exchange, and promote collaborative initiatives among our members.
04:02This innovation reflects our collective effort to strengthen digital cooperation and embrace technology as a tool for transparency.
04:10This year's meeting also showcases the creativity and innovation of ASEAN preventive work.
04:19The showcase of prevention work will feature a special theatre performance that delivers strong moral lessons on ethics and integrity,
04:28while the high-level dialogue on private sector compliance and culture of integrity co-hosted with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes, UNODC,
04:39will explore how businesses can play a greater role in promoting ethical leadership and accountability.
04:46These efforts reflect Malaysia's belief that prevention is as powerful as enforcement and that integrity must be nurtured through awareness and engagement.
05:00This meeting is especially meaningful as it coincides with Malaysia's Championship of ASEAN in the year 2025 under the national theme, Inclusivity and Sustainability.
05:11These principles remind us that integrity lies at the heart of sustainable progress.
05:19Without integrity, there can be no inclusivity. Without trust, there cannot be sustainability.
05:26Our gathering today is not only about policies and plans. It is about leadership, trust and legacy.
05:33Together, we are shaping a Southeast Asia that values honesty above wealth, fairness above privilege, and justice above complacency.
05:44As we begin this meeting, let us renew our shared conviction that ASEAN's strength lies in its unity and that unity is strongest when anchored in integrity.
05:55Let us move forward together as partners, as friends, as guardians of a common purpose to create a region that is transparent, resilient, and untrustworthy for a generation to come.
06:09First, let us pray.
06:25We are in peace.
