00:30Today, we will continue our trip around Thailand, but Thaya is waiting for us.
00:46It is the center of Thai tourism and the most well-known city on the shore of the Gulf of Siam.
00:52We will visit one of the largest parks in the world where you can buy an elephant,
01:00make a wish.
01:04We will even explore a unique collection of retro cars.
01:08This is my favorite.
01:09Get acquainted with a person who creates custom motorcycles
01:13and drop by to see the highest wooden temple in the world.
01:20The next destination on our trip will be the northern town of Pai,
01:28an ideal place to go for a ride on a moped for the first time.
01:33We will also learn how to cook fermented foods, get acquainted with a shoemaker,
01:39chase the most stinking food on the planet,
01:44see a pregnant elephant,
01:49and do a good deed.
01:53I gave a life for a new tree.
01:54You get to be part of the most interesting places and things in the program, Going Beyond.
02:14Thailand is the most advertised and promoted tourism country of Southeast Asia,
02:19and the city of Pattaya is equally, therefore, the most widely promoted destination in all of Thailand.
02:26This is the place where most visitors begin to understand about the culture of the country
02:32and its tourist attractions.
02:38There is a unique place a mere 17 kilometers from Pattaya
02:42with a history that began as far back as 1954.
02:46This was the date when a Thai businesswoman,
02:50Miss Nong Nutsch,
02:51decided to start a fruit business together with her husband.
02:56This place is very special.
02:59Mrs. Nong Nutsch bought this territory just for to grow off her trees.
03:04But after she started to travel,
03:06she was getting inspired about different gardens around the world.
03:10So she brought all ideas,
03:13everything that she likes here.
03:15And now,
03:16this is the biggest botanic garden in the Southeast Asia.
03:22One of the most beautiful parks in the world opened here almost 40 years ago.
03:28And within this time period,
03:30it has grown to the gigantic scale of 240 hectares of land.
03:39Here you quickly forget what country you were in.
03:42In the beginning,
03:47there are Buddhist stupas and the aroma of sweet smells.
03:51Then there are tall, graceful palm trees
04:05and a wild jungle accompanied by the non-stop chirping of tropical birds.
04:10At some point, you suddenly find yourself right in the middle of a perfectly aligned walkway and alleys
04:18in the style of the French city of Versailles or in the UK with its charming red London telephone boxes
04:25or the famous Stonehenge stones.
04:27I've never been in England and never seen Stonehenge, but now I got this possibility.
04:34There is an opportunity to make a wish, for example, to see the real Stonehenge.
04:41This bell is making your dreams come true.
04:50And louder you ring, faster it will happen.
04:54And in case you have a lot of wishes, you can make them by the yard.
05:07Wait, though, because there is an even delightful mini zoo in the land of this Thai paradise
05:14where you can feed a baby deer.
05:17Take a picture with a huge peacock, and you may even wash a baby elephant.
05:23Hi, I want a drink.
05:25Oh!
05:27Woo!
05:28Back up!
05:31Now, on top of all these other great opportunities, you can feed a giant arapalma fish.
05:38This hulking predator inhabits the faraway Amazon,
05:42where it is not unusual to find a three-meter example of one
05:46which you can fish for.
05:48And believe it or not, the largest one of these fish caught
05:51actually weighed 200 kilograms.
05:55An arapalma eats smaller fish, and on a good day,
05:59it can gobble up some unlucky tiny animal or even a bird.
06:03So it is unlikely it will be very pleased with these small Thai fish flakes.
06:09Oh, my God.
06:10Oh, my goodness.
06:11God forbid tourists think that there are real animals in this park.
06:17Hundreds or even thousands of artificial ones will be looking at you from all sides
06:21at every step across the entire park area.
06:25The sculptures are made from the tiny pieces of the wood.
06:41It's huge space here, so you don't see that much tourists around.
06:45And you can choose any activity you like from spending time in the middle of the orchard
06:50or hanging out with a sculpture of mamans.
06:54More than 5,000 tourists visit the park every day.
06:58Those who are unable to handle long walks of many kilometers can hop on minibuses.
07:04For those who fancy the more exotic, they can ride elephants.
07:08Among all this, there is also something interesting for those
07:12who do not really like to walk for hours out into the wild.
07:16Don't be surprised.
07:28We're still in Botanic Garden.
07:31But this is the huge garage of Mrs. Nung Nudge.
07:35And here is more than 40 sportive cars.
07:39And most of them are exclusive.
07:43Take a look.
07:44All these cars belong to Mrs. Nung Nudge's son.
07:48He made them into a museum, exhibiting them instead of driving them.
07:53Amazing.
07:57Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
07:59This is my favorite.
08:00It's huge, very classic.
08:04And Louis Vuitton makes it rich.
08:05I think it's the biggest cats I've ever seen.
08:21Wow.
08:22I don't know what cats are doing here, but looks like this is a collection of the cats of Mrs. Nung Nudge.
08:35What, you don't like me?
08:36Thais are nuts about cats.
08:40In fact, they just adore them and consider them sacred.
08:45They love all cats, especially the Siamese, because this breed appeared here in Siam, as Thailand used to be called before.
08:54Many people believe cats protect their owners' houses from evil spirits.
08:592,000 Thai people work in the park every day.
09:04And yet you pay only a $15 admission fee to see all this beauty and find out Thailand has something to surprise you with.
09:13I spent all day in this awesome botanical garden.
09:17Really, this is a touristic place, but you don't really feel people here.
09:22You like walking around your own garden.
09:25I like time before park is closing, because all people are gone and you are just all by yourself.
09:43I like walking around your own garden.
10:04I like walking around your world.
10:05You like walking around your garden.
10:09You like walking around your garden.
