03:57there are three fundamental concepts underlying the philosophy of the world
04:03every citizen of bangkok sanuk so i and so why sanuk is all about small but pleasant
04:10things we all want to experience satisfaction joy and leisure
04:33to put it simply sanuk is a synonym to material comfort and life's little pleasures
04:47sabai is on the other hand means the comfort of the soul
04:54the comfort of the soul
05:07it implies hassle and anxiety free living
05:17so why is a tie word for beauty
05:20it suggests the appreciation of beauty in all of its many forms
05:27if you are to decorate your home for instance you must use bright colors only
05:33if a temple is to be built its walls must be embedded with precious stones and gold
05:45the clothes you are wearing must be flashy and expensive
05:52to really tap into this concept the citizens of bangkok go to the markets
05:58the city hosts more than a hundred of them
06:02but we shall visit the most curious ones
06:32this is human together we'll explore ram hoop one of the most unusual and dangerous markets in bangkok
06:39at first glance this is a typical thai market it stalls teeming with vegetables fruits fish and meat the food you can buy in any conventional marketplace
07:04but upon closer inspection you realize that vendors all of a sudden begin to close their stalls while visitors scatter and rush in different directions
07:17they do that to avoid being hit by a train that regularly runs through the market
07:23but in two minutes time the place transforms itself back into a noisy market
07:42daily as many as seven trains run through this place
07:59so you know like this train market the name is lumpu lumpu yeah the meaning is closing umbrella
08:24so long means umbrella means closing because of the process they make all the time yeah
08:31yeah so they put it work together so it's like closing umbrella market
08:37so when people first time came here and start to sell the stuff around railway
08:43so this railway has built since king rama 5 so now it's 10 king king number 10 so five kings first yeah
08:58so king rama 5 is about 100 years ago
09:02so all the rail in thailand is about 100 years ago
09:05so all the rail in thailand is about 100 years ago
09:09it's all built in king rama 5 era
09:10and the railway brought markets and people
09:13yeah
09:15it starts since 4 a.m. in the morning and close at 5 p.m. and the train runs only about seven times a day
09:25rom hoop originated as a market built next to a railway station
09:30but as the time passed it became so large that it expanded over the area adjacent to the station
09:37including the railroad track itself
09:40so tell me why the market is on rail station rails what happens with
09:46so firstly the railway will build for people to transport
09:51right at the station the rail station behind that it's a pier for people to
09:58it's like a transverse spot that's why the market will build here
10:02like the railway come first and then the market come
10:05like the people get off at the train station right
10:10and it's also the transfer spot so they come back here
10:13buy food buy grassley before they go back home
10:17that's why the market here like that's why it's happened here
10:22so after the market come people start to build houses around
10:27so it become like a community
10:30local vendors are quite used to this strange routine
10:33when they hear the train approaching they simply close their stalls
10:38and believe it or not it takes them seconds to do so
10:42it's the tourists who are in the most danger here
10:45usually they visit the market to feel a surge of adrenaline
10:48and take a few colorful selfies
10:51there was some accident happen before like a tourist
11:00they were trying to take photos here
11:03and like the train passed by and cut his leg
11:07it's bleeding
11:08oh no and he died?
11:10no but another guy's dead like because he wearing a backpack
11:14and he turned back to the train
11:17to the train?
11:18yeah and the train drag his back along the railway
11:23that is why tourists are well advised to wander around the place
11:26with a trusted guide
11:28they say they just take care of them
11:31and that is why they feel as good
11:33okay
11:35i think this is how you work
11:37when the station or the car is allergic to the train
11:38I think this sucks
11:39she looks like this
11:41that's a good idea
11:42it's not a bad idea
11:43it's not an infinite pain
11:44it's not a bad idea
11:45that it has to help us
