00:05Must be happy with that night's work tonight.

00:07Absolutely.

00:08A really fun performance to watch, I think.

00:11I think we were exciting.

00:13I think we were brave.

00:15You know, we did a lot of good things with the ball tonight.

00:18And like I said at half-time, absolute joy to watch.

00:21And we managed to keep that up for the whole game.

00:24So, yeah, as I said, mate, it was a bad performance.

00:27Particularly pleasing, you know, in a cup game against a lower league opposition,

00:32sometimes teams can not really be at it, but you were definitely at it tonight, weren't you?

00:37Yeah, the boys set their own standards.

00:39We try and hold them standards, whether it's training,

00:42whether it's playing in opposition from the league below,

00:46whether it's playing whoever it is in the league.

00:48The boys set a standard consistently.

00:50We set a standard as a staff and they play to that standard as often as possible.

00:56So, you know, like the way they came out of traps really, really quickly.

01:00They did everything we asked them to do.

01:02Looked at a few different movements and stuff like that with the ball tonight.

01:04And they picked it up like immediately.

01:08So, as I said, they've set that standard.

01:10They set that standard all the time.

01:11And when it comes off, it's a joy to watch as it was tonight.

01:16Yeah, I mean, you didn't give them any chance to think they could get in the game at all.

01:20You were right out of the traps.

01:21You know, less than three minutes to get the first goal through, Max.

01:23You know, straight on them, straight away.

01:25Yeah, 100%.

01:26And then even in the second half, the message at half-time was to, you know,

01:30come out, replicate the performance.

01:32Don't change anything that we've done.

01:34Don't take liberties because that's always a worry.

01:38And, yeah, we scored them in the first minute of the second half as well.

01:41So, I think the intent from the boys was there for the whole evening.

01:44And as I said, mate, it's just an absolute joy to watch in the end.

01:47Yeah, 4-0 at half-time.

01:48And as you say, it's not even 30 seconds, it's 5-0.

01:51I mean, that just shows the standards again, doesn't it?

01:53Yeah.

01:54Yeah.

01:55And, you know, goals shared round as well.

01:58Pleasing.

01:59You know, lots of different people getting the score sheet tonight.

02:01Obviously, Kian and Bob got two, but then obviously shared round with Max and Harrison and Austin as well.

02:08Some great goals as well.

02:09I think some really good goals to watch.

02:12Yeah, I think it's always important to be able to share goals around the whole team

02:17so you're not relying on just a single goal scorer.

02:20I think we've got a lot of goals in the team.

02:23You know, as you mentioned two there, Bob, Kian, and then obviously, like,

02:27even the lads that we've left out the squad tonight.

02:30Talking like Cable, people that are out.

02:32We're obviously still dangerous from set pieces.

02:35What ahead of that is from Harrison.

02:37I can't tell you what a goal that is.

02:39So, yeah, as I said, mate, delighted for all of them to get on the score sheet.

02:43Delighted to, you know, obviously he's conceding one goal,

02:47but that's probably the only chance they had in the game from the pen.

02:49So, again, delighted to see that we're not conceding chances, many chances.

02:54Yeah, it's almost like both of them either, really.

02:56Yeah, Riley literally did not have a save to make until the penalty.

02:59So, yeah.

03:00Yeah, he touched a lot more of his feet than what he did with Zan.

03:02Yeah, and you say he managed to rest a few regulars tonight,

03:06but even with those not in the team, it was still a strong team, wasn't it?

03:10Which kind of shows the depth you're sort of building in the squad and that sort of thing.

03:14Yeah, absolutely.

03:15The depth is something that we've kind of been mentioning all throughout pre-season.

03:19We were saying that it's going to be very tough for us to pick a starting 11, a bench,

03:23and potentially leaving a few out.

03:26We've obviously got, I've been saying it for how many weeks now in my news,

03:30saying about our injury list and stuff like that.

03:32It's quite deep.

03:34But lads are starting to come back now.

03:36I think hopefully Woody's back soon.

03:38I think Rocco's back soon.

03:40So, we've got a few to come back in.

03:42And then, as you said, all of the boys that were left out tonight.

03:45Miles back from suspension next week as well.

03:48So, yeah, we have serious depth.

03:52And even when we rotate like we did tonight, it makes it almost seamless.

03:58Because of quality, there's no real quality drop-off.

04:01But that's so important, because I think in a lot of squads you have

04:05sometimes a bit of a quality drop-off.

04:07You look at it, you start in 11, maybe 12, 13 of you that are good.

04:11Get an injury to one or two of them.

04:13And then the quality drop-off can be quite significant usually.

04:15But this squad doesn't have that, which is a real blessing to be honest here.

04:19We haven't had that over the last two or three years.

04:23It's probably the first time we've got that.

04:25And it's making a big difference, especially now.

04:29Yeah, and over the course of a season when inevitably there will be injuries and suspensions

04:33and that sort of thing, that depth can really potentially pay dividends obviously, can't it?

04:37Yeah, absolutely.

04:38I said it in my interview last week.

04:39We've got six or seven missing from the weekend against Hamrech.

04:42And it's still a competitive game that you've got six or seven missing.

04:45If you bring them back into the fold, I'm not saying that they will start,

04:48but they will have reason to start.

04:53And it just means that we have more options.

04:57We can tinker with things a little bit more.

04:59We're not so handcuffed to be able to basically just adhere to what we have on the pitch.

05:07So having that depth, having everyone come back allows us to go with different things like we did tonight.

05:16It's worked really well tonight.

05:18If you think about it last year, we had the same injury crisis.

05:20We didn't have the depth and we didn't win for a month.

05:23So to be able to have that injury list this year and be unbeaten in the league,

05:28I think it says quite a lot.

05:30And obviously an impressive, entertaining performance like that,

05:33obviously it feels sort of hard to sort of kick anyone out when everyone did well.

05:37But Kian looked absolutely a handful to deal with, to put it mildly.

05:43Yeah, he has them games.

05:45When he's playing like that, there's not too many players that end up stopping him to be honest.

05:53He's just like an electric, you know, he's just so alive.

05:59And again, he's as exciting to watch as any player you'll see when he's playing like that.

06:05So, you know, I'm delighted for him.

06:07I'm delighted for him.

06:09I hope he's done that, to be honest with you, because he was super.

06:13Bob as well.

06:15As you said, the cable at the weekend was the same thing.

06:18So, a lot of depth up there as well.

06:20But yeah, as you said, a performance like Kian was top.

06:24Still early days, but it has been a great start in the league.

06:27And you've obviously been looking to continue that against Christchurch now

06:30and just build the momentum, obviously, from tonight as well.

06:33Yeah, definitely.

06:34I mean, it's not going to be easy, of course.

06:37I think every game in the league this year is tough.

06:39I haven't seen...

06:40I keep looking at the fixtures thinking,

06:42oh, when are we going to have a run of games against opposition

06:45that are maybe not at the top of the table.

06:47But I spoke to a few managers at the weekend

06:50and they were telling me that they're expecting Christchurch

06:52to be in the top eight.

06:53So, you know, I think I've said that about every single person so far this year.

06:57And it's, you know, I do think that helps.

07:01So I think keeping the boys honest and knowing that they absolutely have to perform to their top level to win.

07:09I think that's quite important.

07:11It's quite a big thing.

07:12I genuinely do believe that's the reason why we're unbeaten at the moment,

07:16is because every team we're playing are good.

07:20We know we have to be at the absolute top of our game to be beating these teams.

07:23So we're coming out of the traps, we're starting well, like we did tonight.

07:27And as you said, it's almost like a momentum thing and a consistency thing

07:30where we can continue to do that throughout.

07:33So, yeah, hopefully we get a similar performance again.
