00:00Thank you
00:30Good evening, great to have you with us
00:41as this Premiership season goes into overdrive.
00:44Scott Allen and Neil McCann with us
00:46to dish out the penalty points.
00:49Rangers versus Kilmarnock
00:50and Aberdeen versus Hibs to come.
00:53But we start with the game of the season so far.
00:56Surely it would be more Ferrari than Honda Civic.
00:58As the league leader's hearts
01:00took on the champion Celtic at Tynecastle.
01:06When you play against Celtic,
01:08I think they test your organisation,
01:09test their ability to defend, right,
01:11and to get after the ball.
01:12But equally, I think we've got to have the confidence
01:14of where we're at at the minute
01:15and try and won't be a problem for them.
01:17When Celtic come to Tynecastle,
01:19I think they would always expect a tough game
01:21and that's what we intend to give them today.
01:23For us, this is an interesting game
01:25because not too often we're chasing.
01:27So we're chasing today
01:28and we want to go and show our motivation
01:31and quality in the game
01:34and on the back of the performance in the midweek,
01:36we come into the game in a good moment.
01:38The acid test of Artemid Lothian's title credentials
01:45arrives as the champions come to the capital
01:47to take on the league leaders.
01:50An eight-point lead is the prize
01:51for Derek McInnes and his players
01:53against a Celtic side that's been decimated by injury.
01:57No such problems for Hearts
01:58for the fifth successive game.
02:00McInnes sends out the same 11
02:02and this one comes after arguably
02:04their best performance of the season at Kilmarnock.
02:07The Celtic are shorn of Johnston,
02:09Carter Vickers and Iheanacho
02:11with Maida still on the sidelines.
02:13Brendan Rodgers hands second league starts
02:15to Donovan, Murray and Kenny.
02:17The headline fixture of the Scottish football season so far.
02:29I don't think there's much doubt about that,
02:31certainly in the Premiership.
02:33And this is Alexandrovsky-Daridis
02:35and Shanklin White.
02:39It's been a fabulous start by Hearts.
02:42We've got Celtic on the rack, that's for sure.
02:44Kingsley gets it back from Keyes-Daridis.
02:54Shanklin and Braga!
02:56Brilliant save.
02:58Shanklin across, it's in!
03:04That's a nightmare for Young-Dain Murray.
03:08And Hearts have the lead early on.
03:10A goal their start deserves.
03:17Murray slashes at it,
03:18he's headed his hands and no wonder.
03:22The league leaders lead the champions
03:25at Tynecastle Park.
03:30Looking for more from this team,
03:31they were pretty insipid in defeat
03:33at Dundee a week ago.
03:35And on the back foot here in the capital,
03:40despite that win against Sturmgratz on Thursday.
03:44Here's McGregor getting it from Negren.
03:47Tenecte.
03:48Tierney for McGregor!
03:501-1!
03:50The first class of class from Celtic in the game.
03:59Draws a quick fire equaliser.
04:05Superbly worked.
04:07McGregor, Tenecte, Tierney,
04:09and the skipper was there
04:10for his first goal of the season.
04:14And this game's all square.
04:17Four minutes after Hearts took the lead.
04:20And the captain's role from Callum McGregor.
04:30Hearts fans paying tribute
04:31to their Scottish Cup winning captain,
04:33Marius Selyukas.
04:36Five years on from his sad passing.
04:44Pretty even game after Hearts' bright start.
04:47Nerski's Aridas.
04:50It's always a threat.
04:53And it's just passed!
04:56It's Donovan this time!
04:59He almost put through his own goal
05:01and Harry Milne's not far away
05:03at the back post.
05:06And taking advantage of it.
05:08So near,
05:09yet so far for Milne.
05:11No, it's not a great ball out by Spolov.
05:21It's Tate from Tenecte.
05:23It's Tenecte!
05:25Negren!
05:27Oh, and somehow he hasn't scored!
05:31What a chance!
05:32Benjamin Negren knows all about that now.
05:40Probably should have hit it first time.
05:43Spolov blocks.
05:45The manager thought it was in.
05:55Milne.
05:56Draga.
06:03From Skisaridis.
06:05Grieves himself!
06:11Brilliant from Skisaridis!
06:13And Hearts up their lead back!
06:15The quite wonderful
06:20finish
06:22from Aleksandrovski's Aridas!
06:27To a really positive start
06:29to his Hearts career.
06:32This is his finest moment so far.
06:36Because it restores Hearts' lead
06:38over Celtic
06:39early in the second half.
06:41Tyne Castle erupts
06:47to the tune of Kisaridis
06:49as Tony Bloom
06:51digs it all in.
07:00That's the flick from Shankland.
07:02Here's Claudio Braga.
07:05Oh, down he goes!
07:07Stephen McClain!
07:08Points to the spot!
07:09And Hearts will have a chance
07:16to double their lead
07:17in double quick time!
07:23Dane Murray
07:23on Braga.
07:26It's gone too far
07:27but it looks cut and dry
07:29from that angle.
07:30and Lawrence Shankland
07:37has the ball
07:38he's ready to go
07:39and Stephen McClain's
07:40giving him the nod
07:41to do so.
07:46What a chance
07:47for Lawrence Shankland.
07:523-1 Hearts!
07:54And this already
07:59feels like
08:00an almighty
08:01seismic afternoon
08:03because
08:05Rodgers
08:06and Celtic
08:07have a new threat
08:08to deal with.
08:10A threat from the east.
08:14Hearts
08:14going eight points
08:16clear as it stands.
08:19It is quite remarkable.
08:20Are you mad?
08:26I couldn't get on
08:27to that.
08:29That's brilliant
08:29from Shankland.
08:31Says goodbye
08:32to Liam Scales
08:33who
08:33gets the challenge
08:35in but it's opened
08:35up beautifully.
08:36Adji's waiting
08:37to the left.
08:38He's been given it
08:39by Braga
08:39and Schmeichel
08:40keeps him out.
08:42And then Shankland
08:43back across.
08:47Too high for Braga
08:48on that occasion.
08:51Hearts going
08:52close to
08:53a 4-1 lead.
08:55Their record
08:56signing on his
08:56home debut.
08:58Adji
08:58saw the
09:00white
09:00Schmeichel's eyes.
09:07Here's Forrest.
09:10It's it back.
09:11Luke McCown
09:12to his left.
09:14Wide.
09:19Celtic
09:19are in a massive
09:20hole in the
09:21capital.
09:24From back
09:24to front
09:25Hearts have
09:25been excellent
09:26today.
09:26Unsung heroes
09:27Devlin and
09:28Beningemi in
09:28the middle.
09:29Halkett and
09:30Findlay the
09:31centre-back
09:31pairing.
09:33Positives all
09:34over the pitch
09:35as Arnett
09:35Engels
09:36shoots some
09:36distance.
09:39And it's
09:39all getting a
09:40little desperate
09:40for the
09:41champions.
09:41Hearts fans
09:48baying the
09:49visiting support.
09:52And that
09:53could be
09:54that indeed
09:55it is.
09:59A huge
10:00statement has
10:01just been made
10:02more than
10:0340 years
10:04since a team
10:05outside Celtic
10:06or Rangers
10:07lifted the
10:08Scottish top
10:08like title.
10:10Hearts of
10:10Midlothian
10:11have gone
10:11eight points
10:12clear at the
10:14summit of the
10:15Premiership.
10:16What a
10:17moment for
10:18them.
10:21The question
10:21will be asked
10:22to us time
10:22and time
10:23again.
10:23We're not
10:23wholly better
10:24than any
10:25other team.
10:26That needs
10:26to be said.
10:27But we feel
10:28that when we
10:29are in the
10:29right frame
10:30of mind
10:30and we are
10:31in the
10:31right moment
10:31we can
10:32cause teams
10:32problems
10:32ourselves.
10:33I feel
10:33that we'll
10:34win more
10:34games and
10:35lose.
10:36That's
10:37because we're
10:37on a strong
10:37run at the
10:38minute it's
10:38important that
10:39we concentrate
10:41and just try
10:42to improve.
10:43It's a
10:43disappointing
10:44day result
10:44wise,
10:45performance
10:45wise I
10:46feel.
10:47I've been
10:48here many
10:48times and
10:49had the
10:50feeling and
10:51the slickness
10:51and the
10:51team and
10:52the speed
10:52and everything
10:53else.
10:53So we're
10:54not at
10:54that moment.
10:57But it's
10:57like at
10:5829 games
10:58and Hearts
11:00today being
11:01at their
11:03best and
11:04that's it
11:05then.
11:05We know
11:05that if we
11:06can find a
11:06consistent run
11:07of games
11:07and level
11:09of mentality
11:10then of
11:11course there's
11:11still so many
11:12points to
11:12play for.
11:13From the
11:13outside in
11:13I wouldn't
11:14be thinking
11:15any team
11:15who's eight
11:16points clear
11:17were home
11:18and hose
11:18particularly
11:18against a
11:19team like
11:19Celtic.
11:21We've got
11:21loads to
11:22do and I
11:24think and
11:24I'm going to
11:25say it
11:25religiously
11:26for me
11:26after the
11:27first two
11:28round of
11:28fixtures
11:28it's normally
11:30an indication
11:30of where you
11:31are.
11:31If we can
11:31come through
11:32those first
11:33round of
11:33fixtures and
11:33be in a
11:34strong position
11:34we're in
11:35then we
11:36might be
11:36able to
11:36speak a
11:37bit more
11:37confidently.
11:38Every game
11:39is a challenge
11:39in the
11:39Premier League
11:40and there's
11:41no a lot
11:41between a lot
11:42of teams
11:42including
11:42ourselves.
11:45It feels
11:46like a
11:47massive
11:47moment.
11:48Scott
11:49Allen
11:49big obvious
11:50question to
11:51you.
11:52Are you
11:52backing
11:53Hearts to
11:53win the
11:54title?
11:55Well I
11:55think
11:55momentum and
11:57belief is
11:57growing every
11:58week with
11:58this Hearts
11:59side between
11:59the players
12:00coaching
12:00staff and
12:01now the
12:01fans.
12:02We'll speak
12:03about how
12:03well they
12:03started the
12:04game but
12:04the fans
12:05were a
12:05huge part
12:05of that and
12:05the players
12:06absolutely
12:06delivered for
12:07their fans
12:08today.
12:09I'm putting
12:09that down
12:10as a
12:10skilful
12:10dodge.
12:11It's a
12:11great dodge.
12:12They're still
12:13early doors but
12:14they look like
12:15a team that's
12:16going places.
12:17I just think
12:18when you build
12:18momentum is so
12:19crucial in
12:19football and
12:20their performances
12:21defensively and
12:22then having that
12:23creativity in the
12:24final third it
12:24does for Hearts
12:26fans it gives
12:26them real hope
12:27they can do
12:28something special
12:28this year.
12:29I'm going to
12:29let Scott off
12:30with that since
12:30he is a former
12:30Habs player
12:31obviously Neil.
12:32As for yourself
12:33it should be
12:33caveated that
12:34four times in
12:35the last 27
12:36years teams have
12:37had an eight
12:37point lead and
12:38have failed to
12:40win the title so
12:41there is that and
12:41Derek McKenna is
12:42obviously trying to
12:42downplay it.
12:43Where do you
12:43stand?
12:44Are you backing
12:44Hearts to win
12:45the title?
12:45I'm a wee bit
12:46more confident
12:46now that they
12:47can really mount
12:48a challenge.
12:49A few weeks
12:49ago I was
12:50definitely on
12:51the side that I
12:53felt that Celtic
12:53would still have
12:54that power and
12:55the squad depth
12:56to go the
12:57longevity of the
12:58season is
12:59difficult to
13:00maintain it for
13:00Hearts but
13:01now that they've
13:02gone eight
13:02points clear
13:03you're looking at
13:03the troubles that
13:04Celtic are in
13:05you're looking at
13:05the difficult
13:06moments that
13:06Rangers are in
13:07right now as an
13:08old firm pairing
13:09you have to
13:10believe that
13:11Hearts are feeling
13:12good about
13:12themselves as you
13:13said Scott.
13:14The closer it
13:14gets to the
13:15point where
13:15Derek's talking
13:16about two
13:16rounds of
13:17fixtures you
13:18get to January
13:18point in time.
13:19If Tony Bloom's
13:20still feeling that
13:20he can pull some
13:21magic add to the
13:22squad add to the
13:23depth and they're
13:23still in a good
13:24position who's to
13:25say they can't?
13:26I'm a lot more
13:26confident now that
13:27this team suddenly
13:28have an edge about
13:29them and that
13:30continued growing
13:31belief within the
13:31squad is what
13:32Scott's talking
13:33about can do
13:34wonderful things.
13:34We always thought
13:35it was going to be
13:35a cauldron at
13:36Tyne Castle today
13:37and could Hearts
13:38have started this
13:39much any better?
13:41It was a really
13:41powerful start and
13:42I wondered where
13:43Derek would go in
13:45and think right
13:45we'll be cautious
13:46if we remain five
13:47points clear of
13:48Celtic it was a
13:49good day but he
13:50went for the
13:50throw.
13:51Kirazidis out
13:52in this side was
13:54a constant threat
13:56he was going on
13:57the outside he
13:58generally wants to
13:58come on the
13:59inside and we'll
13:59see a wonderful
14:00moment like that
14:01but this was good
14:02because Kingsley's
14:03bombed everybody
14:04into the box
14:04Celtic are set up
14:05for a long throw
14:06and they take it
14:072v1 and they
14:08make the first
14:08contact Hearts
14:09and the second
14:10contact and
14:11unfortunately the
14:12young fella here
14:13has just had a
14:14real moment but
14:16for me there's
14:17reasons in this
14:18moment he's never
14:19really switched on
14:20and engaged
14:21completely Jonathan
14:22and I think again
14:24he's maybe just
14:24been caught out
14:25here watch his
14:25reaction scales is
14:27up and he's at
14:27it Tierney's at
14:28it the big man
14:30Murray just doesn't
14:31seem to be totally
14:32engaged at that
14:32moment and it's a
14:33horrible swipe
14:34with his left
14:35foot the actual
14:36irony of that is
14:37that you're playing
14:38a right-sided for
14:39balance and it
14:40falls onto his
14:40left foot and
14:41smashes it into
14:41the goal but it
14:42was a great start
14:43for Hearts.
14:43Absolutely as for
14:45Celtic the response
14:46was pretty much
14:46immediate Scott and
14:47Callum McGregor the
14:49beating heartbeat
14:50of the Celtic team
14:51the captain but
14:52how much more
14:53support does he
14:54need from his
14:55teammates he can't
14:55do it all himself
14:56can he?
14:57Yeah listen for me
14:58Callum was a
14:58standout performer
14:59on the Celtic side
15:00today I felt he
15:00was the real
15:01driving force
15:02obviously getting
15:02on the edge of the
15:03box seeing him a
15:03lot higher than he
15:04has been in
15:04previous weeks
15:05you get that
15:06combination between
15:07Taneke and
15:08Kieran Tierney in a
15:09position we've seen
15:09over the years him
15:10being really
15:11effective he does
15:13that cut back
15:14ball and Callum
15:14McGregor like we've
15:15seen time and
15:16time again just
15:16sweeps into the
15:17corner and as I
15:18says Callum
15:18McGregor for me
15:19he was up to
15:20second balls he
15:21was clearing
15:22things off
15:22clearing things
15:23out of the box
15:24he seemed fired up
15:25he was fired up
15:26he was stepping
15:27past people he
15:28was driving them
15:28forward and I
15:29just feel me and
15:30Neil obviously
15:30watched the game
15:31and we felt like
15:31players round about
15:33him were just not
15:34on the same level
15:35of aggression and
15:36that's what Celtic
15:37really needed
15:37especially going to
15:38a difficult place
15:39like Daincastle
15:39there are big
15:40problems obviously
15:41at Celtic right
15:41we'll get to that
15:42in a moment
15:43in terms of
15:43Hearts in the
15:44second half
15:44and you mentioned
15:45them already
15:45Kisaridis
15:46he looks like an
15:47electric player for
15:48Hearts right now
15:49and they've plucked
15:50these players haven't
15:51they from obscure
15:52parts of European
15:54football and he's a
15:55real winner for them
15:56isn't he?
15:57He's brilliant I
15:58think Braga's been
15:58an exceptional signing
15:59as is Finlay
16:00the spine of the
16:01team's really solid
16:02and he's added this
16:03flair now Derek
16:04he's a really good
16:05tactical thought about
16:07his team as well
16:07moving Harry Milne
16:08out to the right
16:09side to give him
16:10a wee bit of
16:10protection on that
16:11side of the pitch
16:13but Kisaridis is
16:14just a player that
16:15is lighting it up
16:16just now for a
16:17wee while on his
16:17early part I thought
16:18he maybe just wants
16:19to come in that
16:19right foot all the
16:20time but you could
16:21see in the first
16:21half he was taking
16:22Donovan the outside
16:23but when he comes
16:24into that strong
16:25right foot it's
16:26such a sweet strike
16:27I mean it's
16:28brilliant I think
16:28Celtic could do
16:29more and when you
16:31come here when you
16:31see it from the
16:32behind angle again
16:34young Murray I think
16:36he can block this
16:36look he just pulls
16:38that leg away
16:38angles too
16:39and angles can go
16:40and engage Scott
16:41I think you're
16:41completely right but
16:42Kisaridis is definitely
16:43a player that has
16:45lit it up but I
16:46think this has been
16:47the star signing for
16:49me
16:49Braga
16:49Braga is a bag of
16:52power he's got an
16:53edge to his game
16:54he's got a finish
16:56about him he knows
16:57the contact's coming
16:57again it's Murray
16:58it's Rash
17:00it's without question
17:02a penalty and it's
17:03dispatched by
17:04Lauren Shanklin
17:05which again I talk
17:06about signings of the
17:07season getting him to
17:08get done there at
17:09Tyne Castle again is a
17:10wonderful piece of
17:11business so that spine
17:12is working so well
17:13but every supporting
17:14act around it just
17:15seems to be
17:16complementing each
17:17other just now
17:17absolutely I want to
17:19get your views on
17:19Derek McInnes'
17:20tactical aspect in the
17:21moment but same to you
17:22Scott as well looking
17:23under the bonnet of
17:24hearts right now what
17:25is it that's making
17:25them so effective would
17:27you say overall
17:28well I think obviously
17:29the players we just
17:30spoke about there
17:31Braga's endeavour I
17:32think having that sort
17:33of quality in your
17:35side which you didn't
17:35have it was always so
17:37much reliant on Lauren
17:37Shanklin last season
17:38he's now got the
17:39supporting act as Neil
17:40talks about who are
17:41really affecting the
17:42game because they did
17:43this with some real
17:43pace in terms of a
17:45Celtic point of view
17:46like you look here
17:46ball I think no I
17:48think it is here
17:49the ball's into the
17:50centre with hearts
17:50hearts played on this
17:51all day anytime so
17:53they dropped off the
17:53game they waited for
17:54Celtic to force a
17:55straight one's into the
17:55middle of the park
17:56and they were on them
17:57then it went back
17:58and they dropped off
17:58again and they just
18:00constantly picked up
18:01they were happy
18:01they looked really
18:02comfortable without
18:03the ball to the
18:03hearts
18:03but they were good
18:03Scott in terms of
18:04when to go
18:05Derek McKenna spoke
18:06about how to adjust
18:07a few things in the
18:09second half because
18:10Celtic did start to
18:11control it in the
18:11first and they were
18:12diving in and they
18:13were getting picked
18:13off you could see
18:14that they turned the
18:15engine down here
18:16Shanklin's off the
18:17game Braga's in a
18:18place but I want to
18:19stop it there
18:19every through ball was
18:21blocked and the
18:22wide positions are a
18:24man ready to engage
18:25you can see Azu out
18:26on the outside here
18:27he's blocking the
18:27pass to the one
18:28there and then he
18:29takes his time to get
18:30out he's not over
18:31committing they're
18:32quite comfortable
18:33they say right come
18:33and break us down
18:34so there was a real
18:35mixture of when it's
18:36time to go they went
18:37together when it's
18:38time to sit off it was
18:39time to sit off but
18:40you're unhappy with
18:41the midfielders
18:42scotting it's not shown
18:44properly or not on the
18:45bravery to come in and
18:45if I look at hearts in
18:47terms of a team
18:47everything was collective
18:48you look at Celtic
18:49today Kobe Donovan
18:50there stepping in
18:51he's on the ball
18:52looking for a bit of
18:53movement I think it was
18:54Luke McCown and the
18:55Viddles pointing at
18:56Shint he drop in
18:58Engels clears the space
18:59and there's just no
19:00I just don't see the
19:01connections with the
19:01Celtic side at this
19:02moment in time and I
19:03think that'll be a real
19:04frustration of Bender
19:04and Rodgers but
19:05looking forward if they
19:06can't fix that there's
19:07going to be I think
19:08there could be more
19:09disappointing results
19:10on the way
19:10indeed obviously the
19:12Dundee defeat last
19:13weekend as well versus
19:14Celtic Neil
19:15Brendan Rodgers
19:16plenty of issues to
19:18deal with in the
19:19Celtic team what did
19:19he make of his
19:20comments as well
19:21Sky Sports after the
19:22match he talked about
19:23Celtic having to play
19:25in a certain way in
19:26terms of their DNA
19:27whereas hearts can
19:28play in a more direct
19:30fashion
19:30I thought it was quite
19:31disrespectful I have
19:32to say not only to the
19:34club at hearts but the
19:36current team right now
19:37Derek McInnes and his
19:38group I think
19:38I think Brendan said a
19:40few things in the last
19:41number of weeks that
19:42has been puzzling to
19:43me I'm not sure what
19:44he's thinking there but
19:45I did think that was
19:46disrespectful you look at
19:47hearts 22 goals versus
19:48Celtic's what 12 10
19:49ahead positive goal
19:51difference 14 is it or
19:52something ahead of
19:52Celtic right now so I
19:55think they're not
19:56playing hoofball that
19:57club is not being built
19:58on hoofball there's been
19:59a lot of really good
20:00teams there's not a
20:01right way to play
20:02football that's up to the
20:04coach and if the fans
20:05like that style as long
20:06as you're winning games
20:07of football and hearts
20:08have done it today the
20:09eight points clear and I
20:10think it's a wonderful
20:11achievement huge victory
20:12for hearts today next to
20:14Ibrox and Rangers new
20:17manager Danny Roel he had
20:19a poor midweek start
20:20against Bran Bergen
20:22another defeat for
20:23Rangers could he get a
20:24first home defeat for
20:25himself a home win for
20:27himself and for Rangers
20:28this season up against
20:30Kilmarnock commentary comes
20:31from Thomas Duncan
20:32Ruil is unaware of what
20:37he's walking into at
20:38Rangers they got a taste
20:39of it on Thursday night in
20:40Bergen with that
20:41chastening defeat but now
20:42a chance for a fresh start
20:44on his home bow as
20:47Rangers head coach
20:48Rangers marking Armistice
20:52day in a few weeks this their
20:54final home domestic game
20:56before then and will hold a
20:59minute silence
21:00well Danny Roel has changed
21:14four from Thursday night in
21:16Bergen and switch shape as
21:18well going two up top
21:20Miofsky alongside Danilo
21:24Diamandi and Cornelius also
21:26coming in Giga Rodwell
21:27Antman and Cermiti the
21:29players to make way two
21:30changes for Kelly from
21:31defeat by hearts out go
21:32Brown and Polworth Brandon
21:34and Captain Lions come back
21:37in
21:37Rangers the only side in the
21:41Premiership yet to win at
21:44home failed in four
21:46attempts a victory is simply
21:49a must today for the
21:50for these players and for
21:52Danny Roel early free kick
21:55as Diamandi is taken down by
21:57Stanger
21:57Tavernier is over it clips it
22:10in Cornelius has made the
22:11run and finds the finish
22:13it is a first Rangers goal
22:18for Derek Cornelius
22:19and from Kilmarnock's point of
22:22view it's too easy
22:23leaves the defenders for dead
22:29and the simplest of tasks to
22:33nod it beyond beach and it is
22:35Rangers one Kilmarnock nil
22:36Anderson
22:41well he's one Kilmarnock a corner here
22:45and these are sorts of situations
22:48Stuart Kettle will be desperate for
22:49his side to make the most of
22:51it's going to be Greg Kilty to take
22:56this one
22:56in swinger with the right boot
23:00oh butland's flat to that and Stanger scores
23:03a gift from Rangers number one
23:10to George Stanger
23:13comes off his line he's in position to get contact on the ball jack butland
23:20misses it completely and it is a gift for George Stanger and Kilmarnock as they level this game
23:29this game before half time
23:31Danny rule encouraging his players
23:37it had been an improved performance until that lapse
23:41header comes in
23:43beach gathers
23:45and he looks to launch the counter
23:50oh that's come off Cornelius
23:51and Miofsky's there to score surely
23:53oh it's disastrous
23:55from Kilmarnock
23:57Kevin Clancy getting word in his ear
24:03beach
24:05trying to get them moving Kilmarnock
24:08but it's a really poor connection
24:10and it comes off Cornelius Miofsky does look offside there
24:14simple finish for the North Macedonian
24:20and I'm not sure it's going to stand
24:22well that is a let off
24:29for Kilmarnock and Eddie Beach
24:31who's the most relieved man in Scotland right now
24:35Kilmarnock forced into a couple of changes at the break
24:43Mayo and Brandon both picking up knocks
24:46so
24:49Stuart Kettlewell after shuffling his pack
24:51Mikey Moore also on for Miofsky
24:53who's struggled at times
24:55in the first half
24:56Cornelius
25:03Diamondi
25:08Megoma
25:11Rangers trying to remain patient
25:18the fans less so as Cornelius gives it to Diamondi again
25:23Megoma
25:25chooses to deliver the cross now
25:29and there's Danilo
25:29oh that's brilliant
25:31Cultured header that kisses the post on its way in
25:37left beach with no chance
25:40and Danilo restores Rangers leads
25:43and on the balance of play
25:45he'd say that is absolutely fair
25:48Rangers showing
25:49huge improvement in energy
25:52aggression and most importantly quality here
25:55and as Danilo gets his first Premiership goal of this campaign
26:00Stuart Kettlewell furious at the defending
26:03oh come Arnick
26:09guilty of giving up soft goals
26:11against Hearts last week in that 3-0 defeat
26:14it's been the same again so far
26:16chance here though for Watson to send it in
26:20Anderson lurking
26:21oh Butlins
26:22somewhat redeems himself
26:24for the earlier goal
26:26Bruce Anderson did everything right here
26:32running off the shoulder
26:34directs the header on target
26:36low
26:36Jack Butlins
26:38was simply equal to it
26:41fantastic reactions
26:42this is an interesting period in the game now
26:50a fragile Rangers team
26:52with just a one goal leads
26:54here's Cermiti though
26:56oh it's in
26:57Yusuf Cermiti
27:02finally has a Rangers goal
27:04the 8 million pound man
27:08breaks his dock
27:09and may just have put Rangers
27:12and Danny Rule on their way
27:14to a first victory
27:16here at Ibrox in the league this season
27:18Beach will question himself once more
27:21gets a hand to it
27:23that cannot keep it out
27:25and Cermiti's first goal
27:27for more than two years
27:29in first team football terms
27:31puts Rangers 3-1 in front
27:33Cermiti
27:38and now it's Moore
27:40took a wicked deflection
27:42of Stanger
27:43but mercifully for Kilmarnit
27:45goes by the post
27:46Muir has added energy
27:49and impetus
27:50since half time
27:51Cermiti too
27:52holding the ball up well
27:54Kilmarnit
28:00get the break of the ball
28:01just
28:01Cornelius
28:10James Brown
28:12to the rescue
28:13cleared off the line
28:16Rangers so close to a four
28:18and this is as good
28:23as they have looked
28:23all season
28:24and it's a low bar
28:25but it's small steps
28:27for Danny Rule
28:27and his team
28:28Raskan
28:31surging forward
28:33heavy touch
28:33Williams makes the challenge
28:35it's going to come back
28:35to Raskan
28:37and it is four
28:39nope
28:41flag is up
28:42offside
28:43is the call
28:45because it looked tight
28:52Raskan
28:54if he just takes a better touch
28:55here
28:55the move stays alive
28:56anyway
28:57it gets the break of the ball
28:58oh it really is tight
28:59but offside
29:02is the call
29:02and it will remain
29:033-1
29:04a first win
29:08for Danny Rule
29:09as Rangers head coach
29:10a first home
29:10league win of the season
29:12for Rangers
29:13a first goal
29:14for Rangers
29:15for Yusuf Cermiti
29:16and the first time
29:17Ibrox
29:18has been full of life
29:20for a long time
29:21at full time
29:24and it is
29:25Rangers 3
29:26come on at 1
29:26yeah very important
29:30to get the three points
29:32we know
29:32how is the demanding
29:35we know the table
29:37we need these wins
29:38and I think
29:39especially after
29:40our first day
29:41it is a good starting point
29:42to turn things around
29:43it was a good step forward
29:45yeah not more
29:46I think it is still
29:47a long journey to go
29:49I think it is also
29:49important to understand
29:50but I am happy today
29:52for the club
29:52for my players
29:53for the staff
29:53and for everyone
29:54we have given these six goals
29:55in two games
29:56and you look at the nature
29:58of those goals
29:59it is completely unacceptable
30:00you know
30:01sometimes players
30:01make mistakes
30:02and you understand
30:03that they are human beings
30:04as well
30:05but when we collect
30:06the six goals
30:07over two games
30:08then it starts to become
30:09something that we
30:10must rectify
30:11and fundamentally for us
30:13that we can defend
30:13as a team
30:14because we know
30:15we carry a threat
30:16going the other way
30:17but that needs to be
30:18our foundation
30:18we have chronicled
30:21some crazy games
30:22for Rangers
30:22this season
30:24this wasn't
30:25one of them
30:26and Danny Roll
30:26getting things off
30:27to a positive start
30:28for himself
30:29and Rangers
30:29at Ibroxon
30:30helped Neil
30:32by an early-ish goal
30:3415th minute strike
30:35from Derek Cornelius
30:36and it was a
30:37fairly straightforward
30:38afternoon in the end
30:39for Rangers
30:40it was
30:41but I think
30:42I mean
30:43he would have been
30:43delighted to get
30:45an early goal
30:47into the game
30:47ball into the
30:49forwards feet
30:50and his run here
30:51round the back
30:52is really really good
30:53Carmarnock going on
30:54the 18 yard box
30:55they're always going to
30:56drop a little bit deeper
30:57but Cornelius can
30:58right round the back
30:59he's unopposed
31:01he's not picked up
31:02and it's a brilliant
31:03ball again
31:04from James Tavenier
31:04dropped right into
31:05the six yard box
31:06I don't think
31:06I've got any complaints
31:07that the keeper's
31:08not coming out there
31:08he can't
31:09so yeah
31:10a dream start
31:11for Danny Rule
31:11and I think
31:12it was clear today
31:14he mentioned it
31:15there after the game
31:15it's good because
31:17he's fully aware
31:17of the table
31:18he could have just
31:19passed this off
31:19and it's about time
31:20and he's going to need
31:21he's aware right now
31:23that he can't afford
31:24to lose another game
31:25and to win today
31:26was massive
31:26not only for him
31:27just to get the fans
31:28maybe feeling good
31:29about themselves
31:30but the team as well
31:31just to get a little bit
31:32of that spirit into them
31:33about winning
31:33at Ibrox again
31:34Scott I say it was
31:35a straightforward
31:35win for Rangers
31:37really
31:37there were a couple
31:38of sort of outlandish
31:40goalkeeping moments
31:41let's look at the one
31:42in terms of Jack
31:43Butland
31:44I mean
31:44you don't really expect
31:46this from him at all
31:47do you?
31:48No you don't
31:48and up until this point
31:49Rangers were really
31:50comfortable
31:50you were looking to see
31:51if they were going to
31:52push for a second
31:52again set pieces
31:55and Achilles heel
31:55for Rangers
31:56haven't been defending
31:56them well enough
31:57yes Jack Butland's
31:58got to do better
31:59but if you're not
32:00going to come and
32:02take it
32:02then you expect
32:03your team mate
32:03to get you out of trouble
32:04Danilo switches off
32:05he's got to do better
32:06for me and Snyder
32:07obviously
32:07I found it strange
32:09to have Danilo
32:09picking up one of
32:11their biggest threats
32:12as well
32:12Danilo if you know
32:14he's not the most
32:15aggressive wee character
32:17and he's not the
32:18biggest most imposing
32:19I could see James
32:20Tavenier was playing
32:21in the six as a
32:22spare man almost
32:23and James actually
32:24is pretty good
32:24in terms of going
32:25man for man in the box
32:26so it was a strange
32:27choice and you can see
32:28there he completely
32:29just switches off
32:30yeah if you're in
32:31there defending
32:31you have to defend
32:32that face first
32:32and then attack
32:33then get up the pitch
32:34he doesn't do that
32:34he switches off
32:35and Stanger
32:37obviously taps home
32:38but up until that
32:38point Rangers
32:39were in full control
32:40Neil you've been in
32:41there in recent times
32:42at Ibrox obviously
32:43Danilo this would be
32:44his second goal
32:46of the season
32:48maybe slightly surprised
32:49to see him start
32:50this match
32:50but he took it well
32:52what kind of player
32:52is he?
32:54do you know what
32:55he's a nice player
32:56Jonathan
32:56he's got loads of
32:58soft touches
32:58he's actually a very
32:59very cool finisher
33:00this is a brilliant
33:02header because he's
33:02slightly going on
33:03the back foot
33:04and it's just a nice
33:05little glance downward
33:06it comes in off
33:07and kisses the inside
33:08of the post
33:08but that's why
33:09Stuart Kettlewell
33:10is so disappointed
33:11because I've just
33:11said that he's not
33:12an imposing figure
33:13he's not massively
33:15aggressive
33:15and that is a free
33:17header but a really
33:18good one
33:19I'm not taking
33:20anything away from him
33:21a brilliant delivery
33:21from Magoma
33:22and a really cute
33:24little header
33:24he's a player actually
33:25that if he gets
33:26chances and he
33:27doesn't need to think
33:28for power
33:30he's got a wee bit
33:31of time to assess it
33:32he's actually a very
33:32good finisher
33:33there'll be a confidence
33:34boosting goal as well
33:35for Yusuf Chirmiti
33:36we'll see it again
33:36in a moment Scott
33:37but in terms of
33:37the Rangers shape
33:38I mean you're both
33:39having a look at it
33:40especially in the
33:40second half
33:41I wondered what
33:42he would do today
33:43and he went to the
33:44three to combat
33:45the two strikers
33:45of Kamarnock
33:46and it was good
33:47they tried to play
33:48the three midfielders
33:49Asgard needs to
33:50adapt his position
33:51I think he needs to
33:52be closer to where
33:52maybe the referee is
33:53a wee bit
33:54but the other two
33:55Raskin and Diamandi
33:56have already got a
33:57built sustained
33:58relationship
33:59so they've got an
33:59understanding there
34:00but the three centre
34:01backs gave him
34:02a real bit of
34:03solidity at the back
34:04it allowed him to
34:06try and play with
34:07some width
34:08Gassama
34:09again brave choice
34:11to play a centre
34:11a right winger
34:12as your right wing
34:13back but you can
34:14get away with it
34:14because it can
34:15always slide round
34:16with James Tavon
34:16you're playing as a
34:17right centre back
34:17as a three
34:18but that's the
34:19difference that we
34:19got today
34:20it was hunting the
34:21ball
34:21it was connection
34:21the second ball
34:22came out
34:23Cornelius was
34:23connected to the
34:24midfield
34:24there weren't big
34:25gaps for people to
34:26run through
34:27again that's the
34:27finer details of
34:28Gassama giving
34:29Widscott
34:29but the bite was
34:32good
34:32you see that here
34:33I think
34:34is that Mikey
34:34Moore turns the
34:35ball over there
34:35and because the
34:36distances are closer
34:37to each other
34:38he's able to
34:39counter press that
34:40then forces a
34:40mistake from
34:41Kermalik and
34:41Chernmety
34:42listen a lot of
34:43pressure on him
34:44obviously
34:44being signed for
34:45that sort of
34:46transfer fee
34:46£8 million
34:46the reported fee
34:48listen that'll do
34:48his confidence
34:49for all the good
34:49he does strike it
34:51well
34:51Eddie Beach
34:52will be having a
34:53wee bit of
34:53nightmares a night
34:54because he got
34:54away with him
34:55when he kicked it
34:56off of
34:56Cornelius and
34:58Miofsky scored
34:59from an offside
35:00position but
35:00the way he
35:02changed it
35:02Danny Rule
35:03at half time
35:04he virtually went
35:05it was almost
35:06like if you
35:06looked at it
35:07like a 3-6-1
35:08but what he was
35:08trying to do
35:09is launch
35:10central midfielders
35:11into pockets
35:12beyond the main
35:13striker
35:13Raskin gets called
35:15offside here
35:15but it was an
35:16indication
35:17you saw with
35:17Cermiti's goal
35:18it was Asgard
35:19going beyond
35:19so he was
35:20thinking about
35:21it today
35:21thinking maybe
35:22right we bolster
35:23up in the middle
35:24of the park
35:24so we're not
35:25getting penetrated
35:25but we're still
35:26going to retain
35:26a threat with
35:27their running
35:27power from
35:28underneath the
35:29striker
35:29now if you're
35:30going to do
35:30that and it's
35:31going to be
35:31Youssef Cermiti
35:32who feels he's
35:33got a real
35:33chance of maybe
35:34earning back
35:35some of that
35:36£8 million
35:36and he's gone
35:38a wee bit
35:38today for his
35:39own self
35:39of scoring
35:40he'll feel good
35:40but if you're
35:41going to do
35:41that he needs
35:42to work more
35:43on his link
35:44and holding up
35:45because it's
35:45going to be
35:45such an
35:46important part
35:46if you're
35:47going to get
35:47bodies going
35:47beyond him
35:48Good three
35:49points for
35:49Rangers today
35:50now after the
35:51necropolis apocalypse
35:52for Aberdeen
35:53against AK
35:54Athens midweek
35:55a crumb of
35:56comfort
35:56the last time
35:57they faced
35:58Hibs
35:58they won it
35:59thanks to
36:00the goal
36:00of the season
36:01a humbling
36:20night for
36:20Aberdeen
36:21in Athens
36:21while Hibs
36:22come into
36:22this
36:23on the back
36:23of a 4-0
36:24win over
36:25Livingston
36:25the mood
36:26in the two
36:27camps
36:27could hardly
36:28be more
36:29different
36:29Jimmy Tallinn
36:31changes three
36:31from Thursday
36:32night
36:32Gavin Malloy
36:33is in it
36:33left wing
36:34back
36:34while Ante
36:35Paloversa
36:35comes into
36:36midfield
36:36Kevin Nisbet
36:37comes in up
36:38top
36:38replacing
36:39Marco
36:39Lazatic
36:40unsurprisingly
36:41David Gray
36:42keeps the same
36:4311 from last
36:43weekend
36:44Eli Ewan
36:45comes back
36:45in
36:45after two
36:46months
36:46without a
36:47minute
36:47of first
36:47team
36:48football
36:48he's named
36:49on the
36:49bench
36:50Aberdeen
36:55with the
36:55early chance
36:56from the
36:56corner
36:56could drop
36:57for Malloy
36:58he swung
37:00his right
37:02foot at
37:02it
37:02but couldn't
37:04find the
37:05target
37:05Carlson
37:08dispossesses
37:10Ohura
37:10Paloversa
37:12back to
37:13Carlson
37:14he's kept
37:15the ball
37:15Nisbet
37:15finds out
37:16Ashish
37:17oh he
37:18drags it
37:18wide
37:19huge
37:20opportunity
37:21for Aberdeen
37:22to take
37:22the lead
37:23and now
37:24Ashish
37:25misses badly
37:27he has
37:28to hit
37:28the target
37:29there
37:29Hibbs
37:32trying to
37:32build from
37:33the back
37:33but Aberdeen
37:34pressing high
37:35and Malloy
37:35has won
37:36it
37:36now Ashish
37:37now
37:37he's got
37:39Carlson
37:39on the edge
37:39of the box
37:40could open
37:40up the
37:40body
37:41goes for
37:42goal
37:43but Salinger
37:44was always
37:45behind that
37:45one
37:46didn't catch
37:48it too
37:49sweetly
37:49Esper
37:49Carlson
37:50grim
37:55afternoon
37:56up in
37:57Aberdeen
37:58which side
38:00can play
38:01to the
38:01conditions
38:02the sodden
38:03conditions
38:04Armstrong
38:05goes down
38:06Don Robertson
38:07waves play
38:08on
38:08this will be
38:08a chance
38:09for Hibbs
38:09Kleecha
38:10in behind
38:11Kleecha
38:12with the
38:12goal
38:13two starts
38:16two goals
38:18for Hibbs
38:18record signing
38:20they hit the
38:22front at
38:22Pataudry
38:23but the
38:24Aberdeen
38:25fans aren't
38:25happy
38:26they think
38:26there's a
38:26free kick
38:27in here
38:27Craig Aitken
38:29is the
38:29VAR
38:30we'll see
38:30if he's
38:31interested
38:31Stuart
38:32Armstrong
38:33certainly
38:33thought
38:34there was
38:34a foul
38:34well
38:36Thibaut
38:36Kleecha
38:36could only
38:38play on
38:39he was
38:39almost fouled
38:39by Devlin
38:40himself
38:40but somehow
38:41sticks it
38:41away
38:42and the
38:43goal
38:44will stand
38:45poor throw
38:54the Aberdeen
38:55fans not
38:55happy
38:55and Kleecha
38:56could be
38:56in behind
38:56Mel
38:57big chance
38:57for Hibbs
38:58well saved
38:59it comes
38:59back to

39:01Bowie's
39:02there
39:02canooster
39:03blocks
39:03again
39:04somehow
39:06Hibbs
39:07cannot
39:08double
39:08their lead
39:09it looked
39:11for all
39:11the world
39:12like they
39:13were in
39:13for their
39:13second
39:14there
39:14a couple
39:15bites
39:15at the
39:16cherry
39:16but
39:16Matz
39:17Canooster
39:17saves
39:18Aberdeen
39:18a lot
39:21of work
39:21for the
39:22Dons
39:22to do
39:22they're
39:22only a goal
39:23behind
39:23but
39:23Hibbs
39:24looked far
39:25better
39:25this
39:25afternoon
39:26coming forward
39:27now
39:28a rare
39:28foray
39:28carlson
39:30carlson
39:30having to do
39:31it all
39:32himself
39:32he picks
39:32out
39:33clarkson
39:33drills
39:34for the
39:34bottom
39:35corner
39:35salinger
39:36down
39:37well
39:37to tip
39:38that
39:38one
39:39behind
39:39it's about
39:41the best
39:41it's been
39:42for aberdeen
39:42in this
39:43second half
39:43not a million
39:45miles away
39:45middle
39:50that's a poor
39:50kick
39:51and cadden
39:51will launch
39:52it forward
39:52again
39:53clegia
39:53flicks on
39:54looking for
39:55bowie
39:55there's a slip
39:56there
39:56this could be
39:57the chance
39:57for mulligan
39:58it's over
39:58the bar
39:59well
40:00Hibbs have
40:01passed up
40:01a couple
40:02of wonderful
40:02opportunities
40:03occasionally
40:04gifted to
40:05them
40:05by aberdeen
40:06clarkson
40:07slipped
40:07but mulligan
40:08couldn't take
40:09advantage
40:09time
40:11running out
40:11for aberdeen
40:12they give
40:14the ball
40:14away
40:14again
40:15cadden
40:15long ball
40:16forward
40:17boyle
40:17onto it
40:18in a flash
40:19he's bearing
40:19down on goal
40:20he cuts it
40:21back
40:21oh it's
40:22off the
40:22post
40:22another chance
40:25passed up
40:26they come
40:27closer than
40:28ever before
40:29could martin
40:31boyle have
40:31gone himself
40:32it's very
40:32unselfish
40:33and campbell
40:35hits the base
40:35of the woodwork
40:36dorrington
40:40into the
40:40midfield
40:41carlson
40:41picks up
40:42that's a
40:42brilliant ball
40:43to lasatic
40:43in behind
40:44salinger
40:45saves
40:46far too
40:47close to
40:47the
40:48hibbs
40:48goalkeeper
40:48he did
40:50the business
40:50against
40:51st mirren
40:51to give
40:52aberdeen
40:53that win
40:53but he
40:54couldn't find
40:55the back
40:55of the net
40:56this time
40:56carlson
40:59couldn't get it
40:59out of his feet
41:00basheri
41:01applying the
41:02pressure
41:02hibbs
41:04looking for a
41:05way to kill
41:05this game
41:06off
41:06boyle
41:07slips
41:08away from
41:08two
41:08oh he
41:09can't find
41:10the finish
41:10that would
41:12have been
41:12a bit
41:12of magic
41:13from
41:13martin
41:14boyle
41:14lovely
41:17footwork
41:17to just
41:18slip
41:18between
41:19the two
41:19defenders
41:20but he
41:21puts it
41:21over the
41:21bar
41:22ellie ewan
41:25just on
41:25it's a
41:26loose
41:26touch
41:26but he
41:26gets away
41:27from the
41:27defender
41:27and away
41:28from
41:28dorrington
41:29ellie ewan
41:29on goal
41:30it's a
41:31big touch
41:32and it's
41:32a big
41:32finish
41:33that will
41:36surely be
41:37the victory
41:37for hibbs
41:38ellie ewan
41:40crowns his
41:41comeback
41:42with a
41:42goal
41:42and surely
41:45crowns it
41:45with three
41:46points as
41:46well
41:47the aberdeen
41:49fans
41:49pouring towards
41:51the exit
41:51as they
41:53watch hibbs
41:53pour forward
41:54here
41:55ewan
41:55it looked
41:56like he
41:56might have
41:57taken it
41:58away from
41:58goal
41:59but mitov
42:00was scrambling
42:01and ewan
42:02found the
42:02finish
42:03it's been a
42:07disappointing few
42:08days for
42:08jimmy to
42:08lean that's
42:09for sure
42:10as it's
42:11hooked forward
42:12martin
42:12boils onto it
42:13again up

42:21hips are
42:22going back
42:23to the
42:23capital
42:23with exactly
42:25what they
42:25came for
42:26and those
42:27away fans
42:28are delighted
42:29they've not
42:30seen many
42:31wins on the
42:31road of
42:32late
42:32but they've
42:34certainly
42:34got the
42:35victory
42:35up at
42:35pitaudry
42:36as jimmy
42:38to lean
42:38watches
42:38on
42:39unimpressed
42:40martin
42:44boyle
42:44did really
42:44well
42:45here
42:45dorrington
42:46looks like
42:46he was
42:46struggling
42:47to get
42:47back
42:48and cover
42:48he picks
42:49out
42:49campbell
42:50and it's
42:50an easy
42:51finish
42:51to pick
42:51out
42:52the back
42:52of
42:52the net
42:52they passed
42:54they passed
42:54up a few
42:54chances
42:55during the
42:5590 minutes
42:56but at
42:57the end
42:57they've
42:57raced away
42:58from
42:58aberdeen
42:59well there's
43:02a delay
43:02here
43:03looks like
43:04josh campbell's
43:05goal might be
43:06chopped off
43:06i didn't see
43:08much wrong
43:08with it
43:08initially
43:09but it's
43:12offside
43:12let's have
43:15another look
43:16at this
43:16yes
43:17martin
43:18boyle's
43:18trailing foot
43:19what a spot
43:20from the
43:21var
43:21i don't think
43:22many would have
43:22seen that
43:23martin
43:25boyle offside
43:26in the build
43:26up
43:26hibbs
43:27don't have
43:27a third
43:28don't have
43:29the icing
43:29on the
43:30cake
43:30long ball
43:36forward now
43:37looking towards
43:38lazatich
43:39and it's
43:40bounced
43:40awkwardly
43:40iredale
43:41hasn't dealt
43:42with this
43:42lazatich
43:43still in
43:43there
43:44and he's
43:44got to
43:44go back
43:45for
43:45aberdeen
43:46you'd have
43:48to think
43:48it will
43:49only be
43:49a
43:49consolation
43:50there's
43:51just a
43:51few
43:51seconds
43:52left
43:52in
43:52this
43:52one
43:53and it
43:56will surely
43:57be far too
43:58little
43:58far too
43:59late
43:59for aberdeen
44:00the second
44:01goal in two
44:02premiership
44:02games for
44:03marco
44:03lazatich
44:04who gets
44:05that goal
44:05through sheer
44:06endurance
44:07rather than
44:08skill
44:08and there
44:13goes the
44:13full-time
44:14whistle
44:14after
44:16thursday's
44:16humiliation
44:17it's another
44:17tough result
44:18for jimmy
44:18to lean
44:19and aberdeen
44:19dave
44:21cormack
44:21will have
44:21questions
44:22to answer
44:22about jimmy
44:25to lean
44:25post
44:25as for
44:26hibbs
44:27a rare
44:27away
44:28win
44:28they go
44:29back to
44:30edinburgh
44:30with all
44:30three points
44:31after
44:31eli
44:32ewan's
44:32winner
44:32it finishes
44:34it for
44:34todre
44:35aberdeen
44:35one
44:36hibbs
44:36two
44:36there was
44:40a lot
44:41of noise
44:41around off
44:41the back
44:41of
44:42obviously
44:42aberdeen
44:42playing in
44:42europe
44:43on the
44:43thursday
44:43night
44:43and what
44:44that
44:44looks
44:44like
44:44said to
44:46the
44:46players
44:46we can
44:47only
44:47control
44:47our
44:47level
44:47of
44:48performance
44:48selected
44:49a team
44:49to try
44:50and be
44:50on the
44:50front
44:50foot
44:50and be
44:51really
44:51aggressive
44:51especially
44:52in midfield
44:52thought
44:53that worked
44:53well
44:53and then
44:55it's up
44:55to the
44:55players
44:56to
44:56carry
44:56that
44:56out
44:56and the
44:57level
44:57of
44:57performance
44:57across
44:58the
44:58board
44:58was
44:58excellent
44:58and it
44:59needed
44:59to be
44:59because
45:00Aberdeen
45:00have got a
45:01really good
45:01side
45:01as I've
45:01already touched
45:02on history
45:02tells you
45:03it's a hard
45:03place to come
45:04and win
45:04and we were
45:05very conscious
45:06on trying to
45:07build on our
45:07three points
45:07last week
45:08and the
45:09players
45:09certainly
45:09gave me
45:09that
45:10subs
45:10coming on
45:11and impacting
45:11the game
45:12in a real
45:12positive way
45:12as well
45:13and all
45:14in all
45:14as I've
45:15already said
45:15a few
45:15times
45:16now
45:16I thought
45:16what are
45:17the winners
45:17on the day
45:18I think
45:18the first
45:19part of the
45:20game
45:20was okay
45:21we have
45:21some
45:21I think
45:22I did have
45:22a really
45:23good chance
45:23and
45:24but after
45:25that we
45:25missed that
45:25chance
45:26then he'd
45:27come into
45:27the game
45:27have momentum
45:28and then
45:28in the
45:29second half
45:29it was
45:30like
45:30just back
45:32and forth
45:32all the time
45:32transition
45:33game
45:33and
45:34it could
45:35end
45:35but they
45:36were much
45:36more dangerous
45:37when they
45:38had the
45:38transition
45:38than we
45:38were
45:39would you
45:40agree
45:41that
45:41performances
45:42and results
45:43need to
45:45improve
45:45quickly
45:46I mean
45:46you probably
45:47would have
45:47heard how
45:47unhappy
45:48the fans
45:48were at
45:48the end
45:49of the
45:49match
45:49there
45:49and that's
45:51understandable
45:51and again
45:52I can
45:53control
45:53what I
45:54my job
45:55and focus
45:55on that
45:55I can't
45:56focus
45:57on the
45:57noise
45:57it's not
45:58in my
45:58we know
46:00we need
46:00to win
46:01games
46:01that's the
46:02only thing
46:02I focus
46:02on
46:03Hibs are
46:05up to
46:05third
46:05Aberdeen
46:06and Jimmy
46:07Tillin
46:07with plenty
46:08of issues
46:09to resolve
46:10Neil
46:11at times
46:12Hibs were
46:12fantastic
46:13to watch
46:14but
46:15how much
46:16had that to do
46:17with how
46:18ineffectual
46:18at times
46:19Aberdeen
46:19were
46:19defensively
46:21yeah I
46:22think they
46:22were a
46:23wee bit
46:23disconnected
46:24today
46:24with the
46:25back three
46:25at times
46:26were so
46:27wide apart
46:28but they
46:29really get
46:30done through
46:30the centre
46:31of the
46:31pitch
46:31as David
46:32Gray is
46:32talking about
46:32he's clever
46:33he thinks
46:33the legs
46:34are maybe
46:34a bit
46:35tired
46:35with Thursday
46:35night
46:35but look
46:36at the
46:36pockets of
46:37space
46:37to play
46:38through
46:38you're
46:39playing
46:39with two
46:39holding
46:40midfielders
46:41and one
46:41of them
46:41is more
46:42offensive
46:42than
46:42defensive
46:43and that's
46:43Stuart
46:43Armstrong
46:44wonderful
46:44footballer
46:45but I don't
46:45think he's
46:45geared to
46:46play as a
46:47holding
46:47midfielder
46:47in there
46:48beside
46:48Pala Versa
46:49now they're
46:49always going
46:49to get the
46:50overload
46:50hubs of how
46:51they play
46:51so they drop
46:52in and then
46:52they're puncturing
46:53through again
46:53and they're
46:54looking at the
46:54back three
46:55and then it
46:56was then
46:56becoming a
46:57back five
46:57but they
46:58always found
46:59it
46:59now if the
47:00two tens
47:00of Aberdeen
47:01are not
47:01tucking in
47:02to stop
47:02those gaps
47:02it's an
47:03absolute doing
47:04for the two
47:05central midfielders
47:06Scott you've
47:06played in that
47:07position it must
47:08be a dream to
47:08just drop into
47:09those little
47:09pockets
47:10yeah the
47:10Hibs players in
47:11central areas
47:12they had an
47:12absolute field
47:13I think when you
47:13feel you're not
47:14getting that real
47:14contact off the
47:15opposition then
47:16your head's up
47:16the amount of
47:18times we've seen
47:19Hibs do this
47:19throughout the
47:20game it was
47:21incredible
47:21they were at
47:22the Aberdeen
47:22back line
47:23just a wee bit
47:24of finesse
47:24with the final
47:25pass didn't
47:25quite work for
47:26Hibs at
47:26certain times in
47:27the game
47:27but again
47:28first and second
47:29balls
47:29Aberdeen so
47:30passive
47:31Chris Cadden
47:31he's got to
47:32reverse it
47:33Cleggia actually
47:34slows down his
47:34run it does
47:35very well
47:36it's quite easy
47:36to stay offside
47:37Chris Cadden's
47:37got to lift his
47:38head and just
47:39knock it across
47:40and it's not
47:40even I know
47:41it sounds hard
47:41on the two
47:42boys who are
47:43ahead of the
47:44three but the
47:45three was
47:45disconnected as
47:47well because
47:47one of the
47:48strikers was
47:48dropping in as
47:49well to even
47:50overload even
47:50more
47:50he was stepping
47:51in when he
47:52didn't need
47:52to he was
47:53stepping in
47:53towards the
47:53two holding
47:54midfielders
47:54and leaving
47:55the gaps
47:55if you step
47:56in as a
47:57middle man of
47:57a back three
47:58the two outside
47:59need to narrow
48:00immediately because
48:00it leaves the
48:01big space for
48:02the striker to
48:02run into and
48:03that's exactly
48:03where they get
48:04done today
48:04huge excitement
48:05about Thibaut
48:06Cleggia
48:06the record
48:07signing for
48:08Hibs
48:08obviously we
48:09get this
48:09goal but
48:10Scott
48:10what's that
48:11a foul in
48:12the build-up
48:13that's been
48:13the big debate
48:13well I think
48:14if he goes
48:15down on the
48:15initial
48:16half contact
48:17because it
48:18wasn't full
48:18contact then I
48:19think Stuart
48:19Armstrong gets it
48:20but he doesn't
48:20go down late
48:21and then take
48:22my hat off to
48:23Hibs after it
48:24Mulligan obviously
48:25doing what he
48:25does best
48:26driving it
48:26back
48:26floor this
48:27time as we've
48:27seen in the
48:28clips previous
48:30perfect ball
48:30Cleggia just
48:31bumps Nicky
48:32Devlin first
48:32and it gives
48:33him that
48:34goal and scoop
48:34the ball
48:35again I think
48:35that is a
48:36foul if he
48:36goes down
48:36there but
48:37Parla Versa
48:37should be
48:38deep there
48:39in order to
48:39take it and
48:40recycle it
48:41and Nicky
48:42Devlin's gone
48:43so he leaves
48:44that gap for
48:45Cleggia to
48:45go into and
48:46it's a
48:47brilliant finish
48:47but there
48:48see if he
48:48goes down
48:48here when he
48:49takes a
48:49contact
48:50because his
48:50foot buckles
48:51he doesn't
48:52he honestly
48:52keeps him up
48:53and then he
48:53realises I'm
48:54not getting
48:54that I'm
48:54going down
48:55and then it's
48:56gone and
48:57they were
48:57severely punished
48:58for it
48:58takes the
48:59goal well
48:59Cleggia is
49:01fast becoming
49:01a fans favourite
49:02with a Hibs
49:03faithful
49:04we've spoken
49:06about the
49:06Aberdeen
49:06defending we
49:07need to go
49:07back to it
49:08though I mean
49:08it was such
49:08an open game
49:09great to watch
49:10in so many
49:11ways from a
49:12neutral perspective
49:12Scott but
49:13there was
49:13too many
49:15chances really
49:16yeah I think
49:17the frustration
49:17you hear of
49:18the Aberdeen
49:18fans at the
49:19end is there's
49:19ways to lose
49:20games of football
49:21but some of
49:21the defending
49:22throughout the
49:23game was
49:23horrendous
49:24to be honest
49:24Hibs should
49:25have won the
49:26game far more
49:26comfortably
49:27but from
49:27Hibs point
49:28of view
49:28they'll be
49:29really happy
49:29with the
49:30amount of
49:30chances they
49:30did create
49:31constant threat
49:32physically
49:32felt they were
49:33too much
49:33for Aberdeen
49:34they felt
49:35they stretched
49:35them at all
49:36times
49:36they've got
49:36a wee bit
49:37more quality
49:37listen I think
49:38he's got to
49:38do better
49:39Mulligan I
49:40think he'd
49:40expect to hit
49:40the target
49:41but Aberdeen
49:42just didn't
49:43have an answer
49:43far too
49:44passive
49:44again ball
49:45down
49:45it shows
49:45you the
49:46quality
49:46Hibs have
49:47Martin
49:47Boyle's
49:47coming off
49:48the bench
49:48Josh Campbell
49:49there looking
49:50to sweep
49:50back to
49:51Connor
49:51does everything
49:51right
49:51apart from
49:52just wrong
49:53side of
49:53the post
49:53you see
49:55this goal
49:55here
49:55this actually
49:56comes as a
49:57horror show
49:57me and Neil
49:59couldn't quite
50:00believe it
50:00for a start
50:02Dorrington's
50:04decision here
50:05to take a
50:06step there
50:06it's almost
50:07like on you
50:07go
50:07and he's
50:08burned
50:08it's the
50:09last thing
50:10you do
50:10to Ellie
50:11Johan
50:11is give
50:11them grass
50:12to run
50:12into
50:12there was
50:13a lack
50:14of body
50:14contact
50:14today
50:15from the
50:15Aberdeen
50:16players
50:16as well
50:16and getting
50:17in touch
50:17if you're
50:18coming up
50:18against
50:19speed
50:19you either
50:20have to
50:20deepen
50:21or you
50:21really need
50:22to make
50:22big body
50:23contact
50:23on the
50:24first
50:24instance
50:24and then
50:25try and
50:26match
50:26them for
50:26speed
50:27and they
50:27didn't
50:28get close
50:28today
50:28and it
50:29was a real
50:29concern
50:30that could
50:30have been
50:30a lot
50:31more
50:31you can
50:32see the
50:33fans
50:33you can

50:33reaction
50:34there
50:34from the
50:38Jimmy Tallinn

50:54he got
50:55a small
50:56respite
50:57with those
50:58two wins
50:58but then the
50:59heavy defeat
51:00during the
51:00week
51:00and then
51:01having to
51:01go against
51:02a hip
51:02side
