00:00I'd like to start by honouring Heaven David, the former MS for Coffili.
00:12We didn't always see eye to eye politically, but his commitment to his community and his
00:16courage to challenge the Welsh Government deserves respect and he is really missed.
00:22Now last week's by-election brought change to Coffili and I congratulate Lindsay Whittle
00:27on his election, but let's be honest, this wasn't a tidal wave for nationalism.
00:32It was Labour voters saying enough is enough after a quarter of a century of the same old
00:37story and others voting with Plaid to keep reform out of Coffili.
00:42Now Plaid Cymru have been experts at pointing fingers, but when it comes to fixing things
00:47their record is thin.
00:49Their comfort zone is blaming Westminster, not rolling up their sleeves for Wales.
00:54Well reform, well their message is all doom and gloom and division, but when it comes
01:00to real solutions it's just noise and distraction.
01:04Flying the flag for the Conservatives was never been an easy task in Coffili, but Gareth Potter
01:10did it with commitment and enthusiasm, listening to residents, fighting for local services and
01:15sharing our plan to fix Wales.
01:17That plan starts with declaring a health emergency in our NHS, scrapping the land transaction tax
01:23to help people move and buy homes and cutting income tax to put more money back in your pocket.
01:29This was the last Senate vote under the old boundaries and rules.
01:34Next year every Conservative vote will count directly to getting a Conservative elected.
01:39Real renewal for Wales won't come from division or empty slogans, it'll come from practical
01:44common sense policies and a government ready to provide real change.
01:49Only the Welsh Conservatives can deliver that.
