00:00I saw a couple of kids bursting crackers on dry grass and I was afraid that it will catch on fire and so I tried to stop it but it left me feeling very frustrated and quite helpless how to deal with that.
00:15Someone just posted yesterday or something said these are leftover crackers from Diwali and now they are being sold at a lot of discount so I bought all of them, taken and picked a selfie and posted it and is getting massive support as the upholder of dharma.
00:33Since the AQI is still two points away from hitting 500 how many kids will you convince we all just saving our skin is more important with this kind of pollution you cannot save your skin right dermatologists will tell you.
00:51How much is it?
01:00Sometimes if I see something going wrong, for example, I saw a couple of kids bursting crackers on dry grass and I was afraid that it will catch on fire and so I tried to stop it but
01:20it did not really happen because they are kids and it's crackers.
01:27It left me feeling very frustrated and quite helpless.
01:33I did some action there thinking about why crackers are so attracted to kids and what is the thrill of it and all those things gave me a little bit of clarity but still left me feeling quite helpless.
01:48How should I look at it, how should I look at it, how do I move past it, I know that this is not about me, none of this is about me, but still how to deal with that sort of frustration and helplessness.
02:03You know, a bigger problem is when we succeed in these little acts of charity, goodness, kindness, had you succeeded in somehow persuading away the kids, you wouldn't even have raised this question.
02:21That's the whole problem when you said kids won't go away because it is festival and it is crackers and we really understand why.
02:51Why the kids won't go away, why the kids won't go away, do we really understand, but if we succeed in our little acts of goodness, that helps perpetuate the delusion.
03:04There is an entire system to be fought, not these kids really who are at the absolute periphery of the machine.
03:21Even if you succeed in shooing away the kids, so what, they will find some other place, they will do what they will have to do.
03:41And that's why the mission is for the sake of dharma.
03:55That's why we are not talking of any one particular aspect of lok dharma.
04:03We are not saying that this is the particular action we are rallying against.
04:11It is not about one festival, it is not about one organized religion, it is not about one country, it is about the shared, universal, primitive darkness in man's mind.
04:29But we don't want to acknowledge that darkness.
04:36So we want to tell ourselves it's about a particular night and crackers and dry grass.
04:42Now how is it any different if it is not dry grass but a cemented road?
04:50Please tell me.
04:52You'll say it is very different because now there is nothing to catch fire?
04:57No ma'am.
04:58That's where the difference comes.
05:01You think it is alright?
05:02If it's done on a cemented ground?
05:10No.
05:14And we are not against crackers per se.
05:17We are against distorting the very meaning of religion.
05:21They are kids.
05:25It is their opportunity to learn, grow and fall in love with something authentic.
05:35And that opportunity is being wasted away.
05:39That's the battle to be fought.
05:40Instead of that, as responsible citizens and good Samaritans, we decide to take up acts of micro-kindness.
05:57Let me do some nice thing in my society.
06:04We'll clear away the garbage.
06:06All of us got together, 24 of us.
06:13And on the festival, we cleaned up everything, you see.
06:18We are good people.
06:19No.
06:20No.
06:21It is, allow me to be a bit blunt, but it is because of these acts of charity and goodness
06:29that nonsense flourishes all the more.
06:36I am kind because I feed dogs.
06:45No.
06:46What are you doing?
06:50First of all, you have created an ecosystem in which garbage piles up.
06:55And therefore, strays proliferate.
07:04And what kind of life do they have?
07:06Look at the life of a free wild beast in the jungle and look at the life of the stray dog.
07:12That's the life you have given him in your cities and then you console yourself, you flatter yourself
07:22with feeding them something once in the morning or in the evening and say, you know, I am a really noble man.
07:31You have to fight against the ecosystem that first of all breeds strays.
07:42The poor animal should not have existed there in the first place.
07:57Cities are designed to accommodate homo sapiens.
08:01There is nothing in them for dogs.
08:05Think of the concrete roads.
08:07And as you urbanize, the whole thing becomes even more concretized.
08:18What will the poor animal do?
08:21Where will it live?
08:22Where will it sleep?
08:22But very irresponsibly, we build cities where strays can breed so much.
08:32And then we want to act pious by feeding them.
08:41Yes, obviously do feed them.
08:42If I find a starving animal, obviously I will feed it.
08:45But that does not absolve me of my bigger responsibility to do something about the root of the problem.
08:59We have rabbits here.
09:01We feed dogs.
09:02You find them all lined up in front of the gate here.
09:05We have a cow as well.
09:06We do all that.
09:07But that does not mean that taking care of rabbits or dogs or that little cow will mean that we are doing something essentially noble.
09:23No.
09:24What we do not want to acknowledge is that all external problems start from man's mind.
09:48And at the center of the man's mind is the ego.
09:54The mistaken ego, the deluded ego, is the cause of all inner and outer problems.
10:03Not just mental problems, but also material problems.
10:07They all come from the ego.
10:12And therefore, if you want to take care of those problems, if you want to honestly address the problems,
10:20you will have to go within.
10:24But going within is hazardous.
10:28So what do we do?
10:34Some little act of this that.
10:36I am not dissuading you from doing these little nice moral deeds.
10:51Please do that.
10:52Obviously.
10:53If you find a dog shivering in the cold,
11:00do offer it some refuge.
11:01But don't take that as the end of your responsibility.
11:07Yes, if kids are doing something destructive,
11:26advise them.
11:29Restrain them.
11:31Yes.
11:31But that in itself will not bring about a better and more responsible world.
11:41You will save the kids once.
11:42They have a long life to live.
11:51They will have umpteen opportunities
11:53to make much bigger mischief.
12:01You will not be there to play mommy all the time.
12:04Think of it.
12:29How weird it is.
12:31Kids trying to set fire to dry grass.
12:41What kind of system would render human intelligence so helpless,
13:01so asleep that our species would come to this?
13:12That's the monstrosity of the system.
13:16It makes you absolutely stupid.
13:22Look at all those reels doing the rounds now.
13:25Someone just posted yesterday or something.
13:38Said these are leftover crackers from Diwali.
13:42And now they are being sold at a lot of discount.
13:45So I bought all of them.
13:46And now I will burn them to set fire
13:52to the backsides of those who didn't want us to
13:55enjoy our festival.
14:03And then he goes on to add,
14:07Since the AQI is still two points away from hitting 500,
14:11Therefore, I have taken it up.
14:19And he is indeed displaying a large pile of crackers.
14:24Taken and picked a selfie and posted it.
14:30And he is getting massive support
14:32as the upholder of dharma.
14:39How many kids
14:40will you convince?
14:44And those were kids.
14:46This was a 40-odd year old man, something.
14:52And he had such guts and gumption.
14:54In the comment,
14:57if somebody would try to
14:59display some sense,
15:04this fellow
15:04was taking care to
15:07reply to each and every sensible comment.
15:11And the reply would be something like this.
15:14Send me your address.
15:15I will fire one rocket straight to your home.
15:18This kind of reply.
15:20And he is getting away.
15:21This is
15:22These are not kids.
15:26How many kids will you stop?
15:34This is sacrilege.
15:39This is the total distortion of dharma.
15:45What pains me
15:46is that
15:48our guys
15:52do not have
15:53even 10%
15:55of that courage.
16:04Nonsense
16:05has such a big mouth
16:07and then a loudspeaker
16:10in front of it.
16:14And truth
16:15is afraid
16:16even to whisper.
16:18And then if somebody
16:31from our community
16:33dares to speak up,
16:37others
16:38start looking sideways.
16:40And then the fellow
16:44comes and begs on the community
16:46here is something going on.
16:48And I have tried to
16:50engage this fellow
16:50kindly come and
16:52contribute to the discussion.
16:55We all just
16:56saving our skin
17:06with this kind of pollution
17:19with this kind of pollution
17:20you cannot save your skin.
17:26Right?
17:27Dermatologists
17:28will tell you
17:28you will not be able to save your skin.
17:33Don't shy away
17:36from the
17:37right battles.
17:42Don't engage yourself
17:44in trivial
17:45altercations.
17:48Equally
17:48when it comes
17:49to speaking up
17:50for the truth
17:51don't pretend
17:53as if it's
17:54somebody else's business.
18:00Yes.
18:00Yes.
18:00Yes.
18:03Thank you, sir.
18:07That was
18:08quite
18:09I got some clarity
18:10on
18:11not engaging
18:12people
18:13on an
18:14ego level
18:15as you rightly
18:16said.
18:17I think
18:17a lot of adults
18:19also
18:19behave like kids.
18:21Even
18:22I think
18:22it's more difficult
18:23to engage
18:24with adults
18:25on these matters
18:26than it is
18:26with kids.
18:28You can
18:28at least
18:29you know
18:30like scold
18:31them.
18:32You can't
18:32do that
18:32with adults.
18:34Thank you
18:35so much.
18:43Push with me.
18:46We are
18:46attacking
18:47the very
18:48center
18:49all these
18:51diseases
18:51come from.
18:52Yes, we
18:58will address
19:00the symptoms
19:01as well
19:02as needed.
19:05But our
19:06primary concern
19:08is not
19:09the symptom
19:09but the
19:11root of the
19:13disease.
19:21If there is
19:22any
19:23ugly thing
19:26you find
19:27anywhere in
19:28existence,
19:29think
19:31is not
19:32this
19:33mission
19:34working
19:38against
19:39that?
19:44Don't
19:45all kinds
19:46of
19:46uglinesses
19:47have the
19:48same
19:49common
19:51root?
19:56And if
19:57we can
19:58strike
20:00at the
20:00root
20:00what
20:06special
20:06kind of
20:07nonsense
20:08would still
20:08survive?
20:10Nothing.
20:13Instead
20:14of fighting
20:15individual
20:16localized
20:17little
20:19symptoms,
20:21come
20:23contribute
20:23here,
20:25push
20:25along
20:25with me.
20:29Instead
20:30of
20:30dissipating
20:31your
20:31energy,
20:32I am
20:32doing a
20:33little
20:33charity
20:34here,
20:34little
20:34goodness
20:35there,
20:36roaming
20:36about
20:36here,
20:37spreading
20:37the
20:37message
20:38there.
20:38Instead
20:39of
20:39dissipating
20:40the energy
20:42of this
20:42community
20:43in 20
20:43different
20:44directions,
20:45pull in
20:46energy
20:46so that
20:49we can
20:49act from
20:50one
20:51strong
20:52center
20:52with
20:53one
20:53focus.
20:55Otherwise
20:55all we
20:56have is
20:56a lot
20:57of
20:57dissipation.
20:57anything really
21:21significant,
21:21we can take
21:23it up.
21:33Nothing?
21:36Fine.
21:37I have
21:44been listening
21:45to
21:45Acharaj
21:45since the
21:47past six
21:48months.
21:48The way
21:49Acharaj
21:50talks to
21:51everyone,
21:52the way
21:52he,
21:53the kind
21:53of,
21:53he's
21:54talking
21:54about
21:54three
21:56main
21:57things,
21:58which is
21:58Atman,
21:59Praktatpi,
22:00and ego,
22:01which is
22:02Ahinkar.
22:02he's
22:05coming to
22:06where everyone
22:07is.
22:07He's not
22:08starting from
22:09where he
22:09is.
22:09He's
22:10pulling us
22:10towards him.
22:12And that
22:12is what I
22:13really love
22:14about the
22:15way he
22:16talks about
22:16the way he
22:17propagates
22:18spirituality.
22:20And the
22:21biggest change
22:22that I've
22:22seen in
22:23myself is
22:24one, I
22:26would love
22:27to say
22:28this,
22:28it's
22:29probably a
22:30big one,
22:31is that my
22:32whole world
22:33view has
22:34opened up
22:34in the
22:36sense that
22:38I used to
22:38be very
22:39distant from
22:40religion,
22:41from participating
22:43in religion
22:44on any
22:45level,
22:46actually.
22:47And that
22:48was because
22:49what I saw
22:51around me
22:51was deeply
22:52ritualistic,
22:53was deeply
22:54flawed,
22:56and these
22:58were all
22:58activities of
22:59suppression,
23:00of giving
23:01you all
23:02sorts of
23:02different
23:03dogmas,
23:03and telling
23:04you that
23:04you're not
23:05allowed to
23:05question.
23:07That was my
23:07understanding of
23:08religion,
23:09and it was
23:10just disgusting
23:12to me,
23:13actually.
23:14And now
23:15I'm realizing,
23:17because of
23:17Acharya ji,
23:18I'm realizing
23:19that I
23:19have had a
23:22religious
23:22bent of
23:23mind.
23:24I just
23:25didn't know
23:25it.
23:25and it's
23:28been a
23:29great,
23:30very big
23:31and beautiful
23:32self-discovery
23:33that my
23:35standpoint has
23:36sort of been
23:37vindicated,
23:38but also
23:39I've also
23:40seen and
23:41observed my
23:42own ego,
23:43where I was
23:43wrong,
23:44where I was
23:44making certain
23:45very dangerous
23:46and big
23:46assumptions,
23:48and with so
23:48much confidence.
23:49so a lot
23:51of that
23:52self-confidence
23:53and the
23:53wrong ideas
23:54and the
23:54wrong beliefs
23:55has gone,
23:56and it has
23:56not been
23:57easy,
23:58but I
23:59can really
24:01see the
24:02futility of
24:03me resisting
24:04this change,
24:05because it
24:07has just
24:09gotten me
24:10a clearer
24:12view of
24:13myself and
24:14of the
24:14world,
24:15and it
24:16has all
24:17happened
24:17because of
24:18Acharajji
24:19and the
24:19wisdom that
24:20he is
24:21bringing to
24:22us in
24:22such a
24:23beautiful way,
24:24and with
24:25his tireless
24:26efforts,
24:26tireless efforts
24:27of the
24:28Institute,
24:29it's been,
24:31I'm really
24:32looking forward
24:33to finding
24:34out more
24:35what this
24:36life has to
24:37offer me,
24:38and what
24:38the wisdom
24:39of those
24:40who came
24:41before us
24:41have to
24:42offer me,
24:43and yeah,
24:45it's been
24:46great so
24:47far,
24:47I'm really
24:47looking forward
24:48to being
24:51associated with
24:52Vita sessions
24:52more and
24:53more and
24:53discovering more
24:55and more about
24:55myself and
24:56about life and
24:57about everything
24:58that interests
25:00me and
25:02everything that
25:03makes life
25:04wonderful.
25:17and
25:19I'm really
25:19happy to
25:19and
25:20to be
25:20happy to
25:20and
25:21to be
25:22happy to
25:22and
25:23to be
25:23happy to
